Cleric is pretty good for solo play atm, I'm enjoying it a lot more than my mage so far.

Solo is perfectly fine for leveling, the only problem is getting gear because a lot of the good gear drop on higher star mobs

I did 1-17 in 2 days solo starting the game last weekend, you have lots of spots for xp, but had more of a problem finding a spot to farm gear efficiently, I was naked all the way to 17 lol

Big guilds "cover everything" atm because the current map is tiny compared to its final intended size. For context, the red outline is what's in the game atm

It'd be like WoW having an alpha and the only region being available was Elwynn Forest so there were guilds that "controlled" Hogger and the Mines and the Murloc area.

Hey I dont know anything about this game the node mechanics have peaked my interest and have watch one 10 minute video. I'm not too big on tradition mmos. So I have three questions.

1. What is a good youtube video that would give me insightful infromation about this game.
2. As someone that doesnt normally play this type of game would you recommend it to me.

3: It's a 'real' alpha meaning the game is not complete and has lots of development left (as an example not even a quarter of the world is accessible). The game also heavily incentivizes group play over solo play right now. The game will save progress over the alphas but there will be wipes that erase all progress occasionally (they have said they want to keep it to a minimum).

2. That’s tough because getting used to your first open world PvP game is normally challenging, even more so when the game is lacking a lot of systems. AoC will be a niche game for the PvP enjoying crowd, but solo players and PvE players will find plenty of fun in AoC as long as they can tolerate PvP
3. PvP is on all the time. You don’t ever opt in to PvP because it is always enabled. Somehow a lot of players miss that when learning about AoC first

ah. ok. The main selling point for me on this game in particular is the promise of the mechanic of a dynamic world. Steven and the team had mentioned at one point that based on the node system, if you login to one realm it will probably look a whole lot different than another realm based on players' actions with the nodes etc. Not just the cities but world events will have had impacts on the map/world. To me, that is really cool. It means that my actions matter to not only myself but the experience of others.

Personal opinion, go ranger. Has a very high skill ceiling which feels rewarding when you play well. Good in both PvE and small/large scale PvP. It's also fun seeing 3.4k crits on a mage and watching them disappear

i am a lvl 16 main tank. So far i am confident the tank is insanely strong right now. Mostly because its the only one that has grapple and charge + 2 CC abilities. On top of that you can use a short bow as secondary and be a ranged player too if they get away and your health pool is insane. Mobs will die before they touch u too cuz of the bow and if they get close you stun them and use close range abilities. While tanking in groups you got some abilities to mitigate and tank pretty good if healer is decent.

all professions can go to lvl 10 novice, 5 of those 22 can go 10-20 apprentice, 4 of those 5 can go 20-30 journeyman, 3 of those 4 can go 30-40 master , and 2 of those 3 can go 40-50 grandmaster
