I thought that was fixed. I have not played ranger and do not use thorns. I am talking about two situations I literally stood and tested without attacking. One was a fighter and the other was a ranger but thorn was nowhere in logs and I literally stood there doing nothing to test it. Neither turned red after the kill so either they changed the red status to someone needing to flag and kill more than one green non-combant that doesnt fight back, or some people found a bug to exploit.

If you are a non-combatant, you cannot strike another non-combatant. You must flag yourself to hit them at which point, you are no longer a non-combatant.

It is not supposed to work that way and if it is, report it. 🙂 There are areas where you will be automatically flagged and this will be the case for those areas but for everywhere else, you will need to flag.

When you set a flag, besides from turning your name purple does it do anything else to inform players in the vicinity? Make a sound? Special effect? UI banner?

I amended my earlier comment to reflect that designated pvp areas (your name tag turns purple and you will have the crossed sword pvp symbol under your name) will show up.

The flag is not a visual actual flag but you just removing your non-combatant status to fight so nothing shows other than your name will change to purple (seems buggy right now and some show white) and people will see this.

Oh, so the whole character gets a purple tint to them?

No, your name will show purple to others so easy to see you are flagged. Those with corruption stay in that status which is red all the time. You can attack any red player at any time and not need to flag and if they have gear, they will drop some so always attack red, there is no penalty

Red players with corruption will need to work off their red status before they are not targetable by everyone and drop actual gear. There are definite penalties for targeting non-combatants (when corruption works properly) so only flag when others are flagged or in situations where you want to remove someone from a grind spot as you are right there and can begin working off the red corruption by killing mobs.

Someone mentioned earlier that each server can currently only have 3 artisanship stations up to journeyman across the server, then said in Lyneth they have weaponsmithing arcane engineering and carpentry. Does anyone know which stations have been leveled up in Vyra and Resna?

Though imo there is going to be some problems: 1) You'll need to be good enough to PvP to be worth hiring, 2) You'll have to deal with corruption from time to time and will need to think of ways to deal with that and 3) you'll need to only be good enough to be worth hiring, but people good enough for people to talk about you and build a rep of you being worth

Hey all, regarding the profession masteries, it is stated that we get to be novice on 22, apprentice on 5, then 4, 3 and 2 on the others. Does this mean that I get to go beyond novice on 5 skills total? or beyond novice on 13 total?

im not sure of the exact ping as i forgot to check honestly but i play from south australia and when my net isnt acting up on my end its pretty smooth , its definitly not above 200 ping. i would say 120-150 on a extreme end roughly, the black magic intrepid is doing on the servers is amazing and while theres some latency when it comes to attacks and blocking etc its no where near as bad as any other game

if the game wasnt centered around prime time based wars , events etc on release i would probably be happy playing on NA servers

i can test it on friday and get a accurate number but cant till then, character select screen is 33ms, i know thats not connecting to a server but its still tracing back to the login server

Cotton is made at the agricultural supply. You need to make mulch first with daffodils and droppings. Buy the seeds and water from the vendor, and turn it all into cotton. Take the cotton to the weaver to make thread. There is an independent agricultural supply across the river from the weaver along the Ruins if Aela and Joeva border.

There is not currently any known date

Right now the game is in Alpha, which is slated to run for at minimum up to May of 2026

Realistically, it is likely there will be delays/extensions to that date, and even once Alpha ends there are two beta periods that will also be occuring

Time estimates range anywhere from 2027(Unlikely, but theoretically in line with what's been said) to further out dates 2028/2029/2030

I haven't seen anyone suggesting further than around 2030 as anything other than shitposting, but there will be a better idea of pacing by December

Anyone know how much the rating is valued ? Like, how much attack speed do you get with "150 Physical Attack Speed Rating" on a Shortbow ?

Rogue will be in the alpha 2 testing sometime between the start of phase 2 and the start of phase 3. Summoner is planned to be available within the first few months of phase 3.

What is the exp formula in AoC for grouping together? Ex. can a lvl 5 gain experience with a lvl 15 in group?

Asked too soon...found on wiki: "Players who are 9 or 10 levels lower than the highest level player in a party will not gain XP"

Its greater than 9 levels so 9 is okay, but xp will be severely reduced at that point. The reduction starts at 4 lvls apart from the mob.

Yesterday @thorn berry claimed he tested it with his group and it worked even over the 9 level mark. I'll probably try to test it myself this weekend an possibly submit it as a bug if it turns out that it works

Ahhh.. okay. I can understand that. You might want to check out Arioch then for EU. From what I've been able to read they seem to be a solid server.

Of course it all depends on what you're looking for in Ashes as well. Arioch seems to be good for realm node progression though
