You can place them, interact with them (they have animations that spin and whatnot), and get the buff that remains in effect within a radius of the spot you placed it.

I’m unsure if the effect benefits you currently. At low levels it’s things like +quantity. At higher levels it includes +quality.

Previous builds had a shaded (area of effect) circle appear on the minimap which is currently not happening - unsure if it’s intentional or not.

So yeah, surveying pylons are in game and have some functions/effects associated with em. Imagine they still have more to do though.

No. You need to buy an item off a t3 node to craft the guild charter though. (iirc)

The guild charter gets crafted through a scribing table. Uses things like a ruby, processed into dye, and paper and whatnot.

This might not be the best place to ask this, but knowing that Thor of Pirate Software has Mega Guild of ~2500 users on their discord (not all have Alpha 2 access), Is this game going to have systems to prevent large guilds like that from negatively impacting the player experience on a server, at release.

I understand the Devs want guilds to be able "monopolize" resources and stuff through working together and fighting off other guilds and players, and they have limits and trade offs for having large guilds, but what is stopping them from having dozens of sub Guilds and actually preventing other players from enjoying or progressing in the game when they have a guild of such size.

Sure but what stops a guild of 2500 from doing that to enough areas that it becomes detrimental for other players to progress without traveling across the map to another area in which they do not have invenstments in

They are aware of this issue, and we’ve heard some plans from them to help mitigate it. One that commonly gets mentioned is the guild perk system. Large guilds will need to use perks to increase guild size instead of selecting combat related perks.

TThat was already talked about in Thors guild they would have dozens of smaller sized guilds who cooperate/communicate via discord, to bypass the loss of perk benifits by choosing to be 1 larrge guild instead of tons of small guilds

Literally one of the things they talked about was having multiple pvp guilds, with 1 offering to protect caravans, then relaying info to another associated guild who would attack said caravan, so they would double dip and get payed to protect it, and loot from raiding it

Friendly fire hitting people outside of those you are grouped with is a great way to combat zerg alliances. Helps smaller more organized to fight up. Haven’t heard much on it yet, as alliance system isn’t in… I’m hopeful.

They aren't a zerg guild, they seem to want to manipulate the server they are on to their advantage at the detriment of other players enjoyment. They have a PVP group, a Propaganda Group, a Spy group, Gathering and Crafting groups, they want to control the server

Plenty of mmos have had to do rollbacks to previous good saves after corruption

A memory leak is more likely to be something on your machine that causes you to slowly lose performance until you crash.

Which shouldn't affect anything server side, other than maybe you die while you are restarting

Yes, the death penalties are universal by the way, regardless of PvP or PvE.

Secondly, if you don't flag, the killer will have a massive debuff and will be treated as a mob. Meaning, everyone can kill the Corrupted without repercussions and Corrupted players may drop gear on death. They have stat dampening as well so at some point it will be ineffective to keep killing other unflagged players.

The only viable way to get rid of Corruption is by dying and dyingas a Corrupted gives you 4X the rate of normal death penalties.

Nice to know, but I didn't use ALT. I was riding a horse, and then was under attack. Then the mount was killed, and I was getting hurt. I'm guessing because I healed myself I turned purple, quite dumb when I didn't even know where the damage was coming from.

At first I thought it was a glitchy mob I'd agro'd via riding by it and it was still 'after me'. It wasn't until later that I realized it was a player.

Attacking back will turn you into a combatant (purple). Not sure about the healing. Self-healing shouldn't turn you purple but if it's an AOE heal, you may accidentally heal your own attacker since AOE heal affects other players outside of party as well.

If you are engaged in combat back at them. If you are green and don't engage, why it would turn you purple is probably a bug. My understanding of previous information on the flagging system is that you have to force attack to initiate pvp on someone which turns you purple. And if you are the target, you have to attack back to turn yourself purple. Healing yourself as you run away would be a bug. Say I am engaged killing mobs and someone wants to attack and grief me. I plan to ignore them and "stay green", but I heal myself. So now they can kill me with no repercussion? Yeah, sounds like a bug. But hey, who knows what they up to atm.

There are many things with the flagging system that still have to be worked out. There was a bug a while back where attacking a red turned you purple, which is not intended. But the answer given back then was that not everything is done yet on that end. So probably just fixing certain parameters.

Yeah ik, I've already watched more content before and after A2's launch that I've seen and heard a bunch.

But it's not so much the fact you need to group up I'm worried about.
Like in a dungeon/raid setting, you can't go w/o a tank, but group leveling you can go w/o a tank, since most classes can kite successfully enough that they don't need the tank just for some CC.
Apparently most mobs at the same level as a geared out tank can even chunk you for 30-40% hp in a single hit.

So you don't do any damage, take a lot of damage still, can't heal well enough, can't kite unless you swap to like a fat ranger..

Sounds a bit like whichever thing you try and do, you end up being the worst at it

Experienced it twice - it made me not want to participate in world PvP at all outside of sanctioned events.

1. I was a ranger, and saw a person flagged as purple. I charged up a snipe, when my snipe finished it's channel bar, the person's purple flag turned to green. My snipe hit the target, crit, and instantly killed him. When I died, I either dropped 3 of 6 pieces of equipped gear or 4 of 6 pieces of gear with only a single kill between a level 6 ranger and level 4 green.
2. A friend (level 4) killed a person (level 3) who, on his screen, was corrupted. On our screen he was green. When he was killed, he dropped every piece of gear he had (which was 3 weapon slot equipments, and 4 of 5 of his equipped armor pieces).

Absolutely. My personal expectation is that we won't see more features in Phase 1. As long as you have purchased an Alpha Two First Wave key. If you purchased a Second or Third, you will gain access on those dates instead. Make sure you followed step #3 #read-me-first ahead of time so when Nov 8th comes around, it's automatically ready for you.

Hey I'm sorry to be a bother, but I have a question. So I got a peck awhile ago that gives me alpha 2 key and some in game money I think. If I use the in game money during alpha 2 and if the server get wiped for beta 1 will I still have the stuff or get the in game money back?

Only when needed. But its not an early acces game. Its an alpha so your progress will not matter down the line. Steven said 2 days ago that they ar enot planning to wipe during alpha, unless its needed.

I have not 100% confirmed this personally, but I have heard people claim that IS has stated that there will be a fresh wipe for the start of P2.

"Normal" has been turned upside down for response times. A lot of tickets had been submitted to their support team with the launch of the A2. their response times have increased because of the increased volume.

The Phase 1 servers are slated for 10am Friday - 10pm Sunday (Pacific Time) only. Phase 2 will be longer tests. Phase 3 will be 24/7.
