Alpha 2 is not under NDA, so there won't be channels you need access to for testing. If you have a pack from the website dating January or earlier, or have Kickstarter packs, those roles will show on your account here after binding your accounts. If it isn't working, I recommend sending support a line to inform them that you need them to quickly reset your discord roles, which should properly attach your owned roles.

The main difference is there's more rng involved, so it would be a bit more reactive than archeage

i have the fear that ashes of creation is gonna be too similiar to throne and liberty one of the weakest points for me is that its not fun to rotate like 13 skills for PVE content or even for PVP

i just remember when i played archeage they approached a similiar style to combat chaining skills then AION had aswell and it was the best combat system if i recall in my mmorpg experience

better to have 1-6 combat skill abr and chaining skills then a hotbar with 30 activatable skills or so

Just to be clear, the class showcase videos are designed to show off all the skills that currently are showcaseable at the time the showcase was made. They aren't a representation of how many skills you would have on bars necessarily, and they also don't show all the skills that will exist for each class. A2 will start with a max level of 25 and the max level at launch is 50, just for reference.

But Steven has said you will essentially choose whether to get lots of skills or fewer skills but more upgrades to those skills.

So there's not a specific number of skills you would have, it would be based on your build

NDA lifted is referring to those participating in the A2 specific phases etc will not be under NDA. The previous tests and A1 etc were under NDA so unless told by the company specifically, they will stay under NDA. So it looks to be "lifted" since no more NDA for the future phases.

The earliest access for wave bundles is November 8th for the Wave bundle 1

There is no "may". If you have a key, you definitely get access to testing on a specific date. When you get access depends on through what means you key was acquired. The 4 dates you could gain access are Oct 25th, Nov 8th, Dec 20th, and May 1st, 2025.

To be more accurate: alpha 2 will be the PTR test after launch. You keep that character, but the launch server is separate. You'll have to start a new character for the launch build.

Which activities affect which profession? For example a farm: Would sowing count as farming while harvesting count as herbalism? Would tending to livestock count as farming while slaughtering it count as hunting? Or are herbalism and hunting specific of wilderness targets?

Because if i understood this correctly, you can also sow herbs in a farm. Or would harvesting a crop give farming experience while harvesting a herb give herbalism experience?

The way the system is currently designed (subject to testing of course) is as follows:

• If you are a non-combatant (green player) you drop a percentage of your gathered and processed materials, including those carried on your mule.
• If you are a combatant (purple player) you suffer the same penalties as a green player but at half the rate. So for example if a green player drops 50% of their gathered materials, a purple player will drop 25%.
• neither a green or a purple player will drop completed items, weapons or armour.
• a corrupted (red) player will suffer the same penalties but at 4 times the rate of a green player. So in the example from above, a red player will drop 100% of their gathered and processed materials.
• a red player also has a chance to drop their completed items including weapons and armour.

I’ve been going through the August development stream in the event I cover the game. The Alpha 2 will be locked to North America and Europe. Also, Phase 1 of A2 is Friday - Sunday. Phase 2 is five days at a time (I am assuming Monday - Friday), and P3 (which starts on May of 2025), is 24/7. I hope this answers your question.

Odd question out of the blue but do we know if we can hide helms that are worn and if there are plans to allow characters hair to show when wearing helms? All the images I’ve seen so far shows the character with helms looking like it’s glued to their head and all their hair is gone which is one of the things that I don’t like because I think it’s so ugly. Is there somewhere that says the length of each phase of the tests? Like is it just constant with whichever one you bought or are they set times?

@potent egret @ivory blaze all previously obtainable cosmetics and Kickstarter items will not be made available for sale ever again. They were exclusives and promised as such to those who purchased.

You can purchase into A2 testing with the packs available on their website shop if you’re interested in joining the testing phases. We are however multiple years from full release so a lot is still a work in progress.

You’ll likely get an email with the download and instructions a day or so before your testing access begins. They did this for the Alpha 1 test.

Like in this message (#read-me-first message), and just from watching various influences talk about their Alpha-1 experiences, there seems to be a much more direct line to the developers than people starting normally in Alpha-2 will have access to by default.

Is there going to be anyway for people to invest/back/what-have-you to get some of that same access?

Those with notoriety may have more direct lines of contact with the studio. But 99.9% of us will have to go through the normal channels. The forums will be the main place to provide feedback/input on the game for developers to review.

The message in #read-me-first you referred to is simply for those with access to current NDA testing to gain access to the NDA channels. The NDA is being lifted on Oct 25th so that note in the #read-me-first message will probably go away.

If you're getting a "connection timed out" message, this a problem the team is aware of.
If you're getting a "set your contact e-mail" message, this should fix it for you:
