Your primary archetype determines your skills, the secondary archetype gives "flavour" to them

So if you pick tank as primary, you'll have all the tank skills, if you pick summoner as a primary, you'll have all the summoner skills. You can't change your primary archetype, changing your secondary is possible tho

Yeah at this point and time no one knows how it truly works other than the devs. The most we have to go on is the wiki that says a shield rush turns into a shield teleport

The thing is, we don't know much about augments. Some of the main pieces of information we have from the Wiki regarding summoner and cleric for example, are from 2018 and 2020.

Such as, the cleric augment on summoner base, making you have skeletons and other necrotic summons

but, this is four years and 6 years old. So who knows.

The intention has always been stated that a portion of your "stuff" is sunk in a loss. While many like to equate that this will ONLY mean gathered and processed materials, there may be different rules for a node siege loss. Agreed that it needs further clarification, but from the wiki you can already see that they are leaning in the direction of at least certain "crafted" items on the AH becoming part of the treasure pile to be fought over.

Many, if not all, of the node services are shut down during the declaration period of a siege. This is to prevent people from trying to "game" the system by making certain things "safe" by adding them to say the AH to make them not part of the pile. Sounds like a good AMA or livestream question to see if you can get them to go that specific on the issue.

The strongest stuff that you can get is supposed to come from crafting is the goal as far as it's been said so far

Zerg groups are just an unavoidable fact of any largeish multiplayer games, realistically your best bet is to find a guild that actually treats members like they're people and that you fit the vibe with and just roll with them. There are some systems that will exist in the game to try and curb rampant random PKing, but this is at the end of the day an open world PVP game, so PVP is going to be a part of things to an extent

You'll have a chance that scales based on corruption basically, and corruption scales based on several factors but mostly it's just more kills more corruption, and the more kills in total the more corruption per kill is what it's been said to be. Subject to change and testing.

Alpha 2 isn't really meant to be a game, it's meant to be a testing environment. That's not to say that it won't be entertaining, but once testing ends you won't retain anything you've acquired during testing, wipes can and will happen at some point, bugs/glitches/crashes/errors are likely, and a general "Stuff is gonna go weird" warning exists. A2 exists to identify those issues and get them fixed, and to allow people to give feedback on game systems to further direct development of them.

If you aren't all that interested in being more vigorous with feedback and bug reports or you're looking for a game in a more finished state, it may be best to wait until the game fully finishes development.

Nah I'm just saying, I've heard some content creators say they should NDA the Alpha 2. If there are at minimum 200k people, at a low estimate based on best knowledge, then if you have 0.1% of those people who don't care, or are too stupid to know what an NDA is, then you have 200 people sharing stuff. And then you have to figure out where they live and sue them all individually

we dont know the biggest possible but as we have been told it would be insane huge amount of corruption that would make you hit like a wet noodle until you grind it off and if you died while having a lets say max corruption you can lose all your gear and get a XP debt that will take days to grind away where you are effectively a level 1 that can wear leveled gear and have high level skills (you dont de level but it effectively de levels you) .....tl,dr dont kill low level people as a higher leveled player unless its sanctioned pvp

Hi there! Ashes of creation is a very ambitious MMO. intrepid have a firm stance on making sure the game is ready before they release it, which means it may take a while. But other mmos have been in development pretty much the same time sometimes longer. Also intrepid is a new studio and had to build and concept the game from scratch. So even though it was started roughly in 2017, they didn’t get a good firm team til around 2020,where they’ve had multiple prealpha and alpha iterations of the game. A2 starts I. For Pre-Alpha 2 Testing, you need to be invited in one of the RNG waves that intrepid does every so often. Nothing you can do to expedite that process. Just gotta wait it out and hope for the best

There were no additional A2 keys in any of the packages. There were up to 10 B1 and B2 keys if you were in the 10k package range. But the lowest amount of keys was 5 B2, there were never any A2 keys for KS backers to "award"

Jk. Phoenix initiative was the $2,500 packs or higher. The people in spot testing are primarily alpha 1 players who were randomly selected. Most of them paid $500. The $10,000 pack came with many other goodies including a trip to Vegas.

If you have access to testing starting on November 8th, you will have access to all testing phases for Alpha 2 which will give you access until the game launches which will take at least 1.5 years from November so plenty of time if that was your concern.

Years ago the answer we got was no, stuff is tied to your characters gender

One of the examples being the Kickstarter cosmetics. The King and Queen costumes were tied to your gender. So if you equipped the cosmetic on a Male it would be the Kings Armour, whereas if you equipped it on a Female it would be a dress

Really looking forward to the game, but I do have a question. Due to its lengthy development process, are you not afraid that the games combat system is going to feel dated or antiquated by the time it comes out? From what I've seen, combat is relatively bland and looks kinda boring. Does AOC have any plans to improve upon their current combat system?

And before I get dogpiled, I'm only commenting on the combat aspect of the game. Everything else seems like it'll be fantastic :p

When there are server wipes / resets throughout Alpha 2, how much of a reset will it be. My main concern is if all your friends get on a server the first time, but theres a reset and you all have to race again to get onto a server? or will there be a level of security with your slot on a server you were playing on?

I'd say it's worth playing the Alpha/Beta if you either A: Want to test the game, assist in giving feedback and reporting bugs, etc. or B: Just need a new social MMORPG to play around in to pass the time. The game won't be releasing fully for quite a while so I wouldn't be worried about burning out during the alpha. If you think the project sounds interesting then join the alpha and test it out! If not, you'll always get the chance to play in the future once the game releases.

What @desert ivy linked is only applicable to those who purchased any sort of access for the first time in the past month or two.

Since you bought the beta pack a long time ago, you can wait to upgrade your pack until the day A2 comes out if you want and get access. There is currently no end date for when they’ll take that ability away from you, but they said they would give plenty of notice which in the past has been multiple months.

I don’t believe so. You can do this with other packs in the past, but I believe they didn’t set these A2 key packs that way. A mod or CM would need to verify.
