Hey guys.....Can someone explain to me how Alpha2 Waves are going to be handled. I bought the Voyager Plus Pre-Order Pack and I expect I will have Alpha 2 access. The 16th August stream stated various Alpha 2 Waves/Phases. Somewhere i read "anyone with Alpha 2 access will join Verra on October 25th". I understood that the first two phases will be non-persistent and that phase 3 will then start from May 1st 2025 and be persistent. Why then did I see several packages stating other access dates like 8th Nov, 20th Dec and also 1st May 2025?

Regarding your second question, I think the industry uses PTR to distinguish from private QA testing server. Generally they aren’t open to the public at large.

Granted....if you acknowledge all this and take into account the values (9 months of game time = $135 value, $125 in embers) the package still looks good. But come on, having exclusive Alpha 2 access was THE selling point. And it always was hinted that the last packages would sell end of 2023 and therefore Alpha 2 access was not obtainable after that date. Offering separate Alpha 2 keys now just fueles the whole "Cheap-Cash-Grap"-issue and I think this is warranted at this point.

Having a referral programm and a cosmetic storefront in the Alpha state was bad enough.

technically theres no system in place to stop a group from running past and doing the boss, all the mobs in the way would stop them though. as an example tho if your group is at the pack just before the boss and people are coming then its friendly competition, you either beat them in the dps race on the boss ( as loot rights go to group with majority % of damage) or kill them.

overpopulation is always gonna be an issue for popular spots / dungeons tho , the grand dungeon is supposed to facilitate multiple groups so unless a big guild is farming it constantly you wont run into the prob of never being able to do it , just have to come back another time

There is no fast travel and what dungeons and open world areas are open change based on the state of nodes and other things, so it wont be quite as bad as static farming areas from some other games. That being said the game is PvX with PvP being very prominent and most design decisions are going to lean towards creating friction points where you can cooperate or fight which is what gives resources their value in the world.

No overall PvP progression system will kill the game. Like with New World … people got to end game and found no real reason to kill other players in open world other than to kill them. Arena fights are great to an extent but they are not genuine encounters like in open world roaming. Looting other players? Who gives a fuck about looting once you’re templated and lvl 50…?

1 - resource denial to foes, there will be a ton of end game augments that need resources to be upgraded, denying resources will effect how you are able to expand your controlled nodes and amplify groups that work together harmoniously
2- who cares? a lot of people are looking for a game that has both PvE and PvP systems mindfully woven together, my gf won't care as much about PVP as she will be doing artisan stuff and node work, i will be a bard & likely have little desire for PvP unless for a specific reason. also there will be open sea PvP, lawless areas with node affected event spawns, competitive rankings & many other meta systems yet to be fleshed out, which ought keep the content fresh for years.

Create an account and go to the shop, you should be able to purchase the new Alpha packages when they come online in the near future. If you have a favorite person or CC you follow you can create your account with their referral code and then make your purchase. Hope this helps!

If you want to take part in the alpha and do testing, then you need to either already have a key or buy a key. In theory a giveaway might potentially happened and has been mentioned in the past/happened in the past, but none have been announced and there's no major likelyhood that one would occur again. Even if one did, you'd need an account anyway.
