2: guild size caps, alliance caps, distance of metropolitan nodes and nodes in general, local markets as opposed to global and a host of other things makes control of a server near impossible.
3: there will be option sliders if you don't want the fps drop from effects. We might have a more in-depth look at large scale combat performance later. But you'll definitely see it in A2, and everyone will get to contribute their feedback.

- Campers may be a thing, but the corruption system puts increasingly dangerous consequences on griefers. As for bots, Intrepid don't disclose their security measures for obvious reasons, but systems will be in place, including human GMs.

This was a thing in vanilla wow where classes like the Druid that could do a lot of things (melee dps, range dps, heal, tank) had to trade their damage in favor of being able to do everything, this seems to have been removed in the new SoD season though

We don't have a super solid answer to this, and as it's technically a balance question I don't think intrepid has a solid answer for this yet either, but the answer we've got for this type of question is that every major archetype will have a secondary archetype combo that will allow them to effectively do every type of thing to at least some level.

For PVP and the Corruption system. I have a weird quesiton maybe one asked before. What happens if your out and you engage with a player but don't kill them.. You just keep them low and let a world Mob kill them cause you keep them down to one hit.. Once they die does that still give you corruption as if you killed them?

With regards to seeing another player's health: As you know their name plate will deteriorate or give you an indication of like hey they've taken damage they're significantly injured, but you're not going to get a percentage. You're not gonna get an exact bar value, unless you're in their party or in their raid.[2] – Steven Sharif
You don't see an opponent's exact health, only a rough indication. So you cannot do what you suggest without running the risk of killing them and gaining corruption.

Could be but most always jump to Players Gaming the system when in turn if you just want to take over a farm route and want to fight for it. You may also wish to use something like this to burn out the one farming what you want and you youself do not want corruption as a punishment just cause you pvp to take a farm location.
Just a hard balancing act. Alpha 2 will be good testing grounds

Glint can either be directly vendored for gold or you can buy the caravan packs and take those to different nodes for money. You certainly can directly sell your player made items on whatever market or move it around to other nodes to sell it.

Player buy orders are for the stuff you go out and mine yourself. Then you crate it up, throw it on a caravan, and take it to where they buy order is. Glint is farmed and then used to buy node specific commodities (not part of the buy order system), that are then sold at point of contact, or crated and moved through the caravan system.

It's done in order of pack purchase by date. So kickstarters get to reserve their names, then intrepid packs, then adventurer packs and then voyager plus packs. (Just in case you have a thought for a super common name)

Last we heard you can have just a first name or you can have a first and last. So some people can call themselves just "Bob" and others can call themselves "Bob Smith" if they want

Since name reservation is something akin to "land rushing" and those that try to create characters on every possible server in previous games as a way to "hold" those names, taking up metrics on servers, giving false indications of populations, Intrepid plans to throttle character creation in the beginning. So the plan of creating a character for each server, it ain't happening. They have yet to announce what those throttles will be, but you can bet it is going to be a minimal amount if not even a single one for the first few weeks of "live"

Assuming Alpha 2 starts around 2024 Q2, and Intrepid's stated goal of adding all launch features over time into A2, there's a world where 2025 Q4 isn't out of the realm of reasonable. The game has been insanely ambitious, and they've missed stated windows over the years, but the impression I'm getting this year is they know what all they want in launch, and they know how to do it all (I wouldn't be surprised if everything exists already in various states of development), the slow trickle into Alpha 2 will be to test features one at a time in the wild as they slowly stack and intergate. That would give them over a year to test and refine features based on player feedback/meta data. Beta 1 and 2 will run side by side with Alpha 2 as they come online up until the clean wipe just prior to launch, which will probably be more tweaking/smoothing out balancing.

Sure, its super ambitious as I've noted. But when you listen to the devs talk in the streams, they are clearly both sure on the systems they are discussing and constantly referencing how they'll stack with other features that haven't been shown off yet. They've also been very upfront about what exactly they want the game to be, and what all features they want at launch. They've clearly been slow rolling drops and reveals this year while they take the time to polish each tidbit they want to unveil. There could also just be an issue of upscaling the back end and tech/servers in prep for a much larger tester base. I don't expect any good idea fairies to pop up at this point between now and launch, at least not whole new features. I forsee a very polished yearish long alpha 2.

It does not say anything about combat pet mechanics being present at the start of Alpha 2, but the possibility for summoners at the beginning of Alpha 2 is now on the table. If that is the case, then I would imagine that combat pets would not be too far behind.
Alpha 2 will have additional content added for testing, such as the expected navel update, where more and more systems will be brought online.

Each archetype will have around 30-40 skills. There are skill points awarded while leveling that can be used to further enhance those base skills based on a tier system. (you wont have enough skill points to have all abilities available at the same time) You can as of last info change your skills in town or a freehold, not on the fly in the field. They have not given any information on saved skill templates. And finally, class choice (second archetype chosen at lvl 25) can be changed, but only after a substantial effort, tbd later

I don't know about snipe specifically, but in general abilities can be canceled. (This causes the ability to stop doing anything, 'animation canceling' as a dps increase is not a mechanic in AoC).

Longbows are longer range but slower. Shortbows are shorter range and weaker damage, but faster. They also both have different "weapon skill trees" which we saw a sneak peak of today fro the shortbow. Abilities are mostly determined via the archetype, not what weapon you use (although some spells may only be usable with certain weapons).

Yes! There is an Action Camera mode. It hasnt been shown for some time so a lot of people asked for it for this stream. Unfortunately it was bugged at last minute when recording and couldnt make this stream.

No you can only buy the packs right now. BTW it comes with game time as well. Think of it as a donation for the developers that happens to give you access to Alpha2 testing and some other benefits.

Yeah I followed for a while to find a cosmetic I liked. Best thing you can do is find giveaways and such. There are keys around, I think some content creators are still doing giveaways. They may reopen sales later in some form.

Yeah it's events and such. For example they just did an extra life charity stream. Some content creators joined in a friendly minecraft competition. Those content creators got a bunch of keys to give out. I'm sure they'll do other stuff. Have to keep up on whats happening.

You can buy them from the cosmetic shop and you can use them during the monster events and specifically target a workbench you want instead of leaving it up to AI

Hey Barakiss, the only pack is the Unseen Order pack. If you buy that pack, and upgrade it later, you'll get the additional cosmetic items that come with the upgrade.

It could honestly also be earlier (or later) than that. Intrepid has gotten burnt with promising timelines, so I expect that the "Q3" thing is quite conservative, and they could generate a lot of goodwill by having it a bit earlier than that.

So far they didnt show any specific class, they are only showing the "primary" archetype itself, but sometimes they do mention they have augments from seconday.
But all videos so far were specific archetypes for example "ranger showcase, mage showcase..." and there are still some "missing".
There are 64 possible classes, so its unlikely they will have time to show all of them while even some of the archetypes werent shown yet
Edit: Just changed from "primary class" to archetype, to mention the correct way, since class is formed by the 2 archetypes you choose.

Yes, once you reach you "cap" on the various tiers, you would not be able to complete or participate in further unlocks is the way I have understood it. You are not going to have 3 master profs that are unrelated to the 2 grandmaster profs you have chosen.

A1 ended in August 2021. However if you have BoW then that means you'll most likely get access to spot testing for A2 before A2 backers get access to it. If you simply upgraded your Kickstarter pack via the Ashes website then you won't have a key to redeem, it'll be automatically applied to your account.

That's a fair point, you always have the option to purchase a cheaper pack and upgrade it in the future. Upgrades will be available even after January 17

You can have 2 gm skills, 1 master, 1 journeyman, and the rest novice I thihnk

if you only want 1 GM, then you can have 1 more master. Goes same on down the line.
As it stands right now, you can't choose to be a jack of all trades, say journeyman in all skills, so there's no reason not to work towards 2x GMs. The biggest reason probably to not try for them is how hard the process will be.
Oops I missed a level, aprentice. Think of it like this. You can only have 5 Apprentice skills, the other 17 skills can only max out at novice. Of those 5, 4 can advance to journeyman. Of those 4, 3 can advance to master. Of those 3, 2 can advance to GM.

They did announce internal spot testing has already begun and will be open to Phoenix Initiate members shortly if it isn't already. Spot testing will open up to users in order of package priority starting with all the Kickstarter backers before potentially opening up to A1 and A2 pack backers. There is no guarantee A1 or A2 backers get into spot testing before the start of A2.

There will be several wipes and I’m sure there will be times they set your level to test max level combat to balance things. Specifics on that won’t be known until Alpha 2 is underway though.
There will be many instances where they ask testers to test certain aspects of the game and they’ll likely provide shortcuts for us to be able to test those aspects.
I can’t see a world where we don’t start at level 1 though

Hey its me again with another Pre Order question. I preordered the Explorer Package back in Aug 2020 but I upgraded that to Warrior of Old yesterday (thanks for helping me with my confusion on that) and I also added all the Unseen Order cosmetics. Then earlier I was reading up on some things and came across this about Pre Order Packages. Does that mean upgrading to Warrior of Old I would already be getting the Unseen Order cosmetics and didn't need to get them separately? Or am I missing understanding something (again)?

No. Upgrading your backer package is separate from pre order packs. But since you are a backer you can buy individual items from the unseen order pack rather than needing to upgrade
