Aside from that, working together with a family to raise funds is better. I think Solo AoC will be a rough ride.

Instead of using some sort of bidding system that could potentially be abused by larger groups this would give everyone a chance to own a freehold with a little luck should they put in for it. If the node is destroyed the freehold could go back into the pool and the blueprint/permit could have an expiry where it would have to be used in a certain amount of days once reissued.

The only other known method to obtain a freehold we know that they considererd is First Come First Serve

Steven has also said that if the outcome is "rich get richer" and "if you want to buy a freehold by yourself, then fuck you", then they will refine the design during testing

So the common thoughts along your line of thinking @tawdry forum, that this method will be dominated by groups of 50+, will definitely be seen in A2, and Steven and his team will refine the design

If the node siege is lost by the defenders it is blasted back to zero. The person who owns the freehold if they successfully defend it need to find another node that space falls under its zoi and get a permit from it. They have yet to clarify if that would mean going through the bidding process again, which would not make sense, since the freehold is already placed in that case. In the case of a loss of the freehold, the same would apply, but would need to bid again, since it is a new placement.

If they don't find a node that their location falls under its zoi, then after a week it is packed up and mailed to them just like a loss.

As of now it's only player driven. For example you agree to pay a freehold owner x gold to use a processing station, or maybe you pay a freehold owner x gold per month to replace their crop area with a processing station. Both are accomplished by joining the freehold owner's family and them giving you specific rights. There isn't a direct in game system for it.

Latest info is that you can have between 1-3 pets, going for either 1 more powerful or 3 weaker but gives you flexibility. With summoner as main archetype you could just switch secondary archetype ''without much effort'' in order to fill whatever role your party needs aslong as you have the gear to be useful in multiple roles.

If you purchase a key that shows an alpha key you can test when alpha 2 launches. If you purchase a key that only has a beta key then you would need to wait until the beta testing phases. There is no word yet of when alpha 2 will be ready for testing.

As for guilds buying up as many freeholds as possible, LOL yeah, good luck. Only responses you're gonna hear on that are "get good", "work harder" or "make friends". Only real suggestion I have is not to buy any pack until A2 comes out and the obvious becomes clear, and see how Intrepid retool the system.

Doesnt available housing effectively act as a hard cap for number of citizens in a node?

it's unclear if there is a "hard" cap on housing for citizenship, since apartments are instanced and you can keep building more of them in the towns. As far as I can remember, they haven't specified if there will be a maximum amount that can be built on a node, theoretically since they're instanced they don't take any physical space and you could have like a dozen overlapping. We'll need a bit more detail before we can say for sure

Having the option to upgrade a KS/Summer package means you are already a KS holder. You get everything included in your package with the exception of things that have already passed. For example, A1 access is useless as a perk as it has already finished.

Can someone tell me if I'm missing a step or doing something wrong? I purchased a pack that should include alpha 2 + access but my role status on the forums only says members & although I tried linking my discord to my account, I don't seem to have any new channels. Am I supposed to apply my pack purchase somehow to get upgraded forum access? Has it simply not updated because Alpha 2 isn't out yet? Am I missing some step to get linked to see the backer's channels? I am able to see all of my items listed in the inventory screen, so it's def there.

As far as we know, races don't actually have different abilites. They have racial augments to change class abilities. Whether that allows you to turn into a Jinn or it's just part of character cosmetics, we don't know
