This hasn't been fixed yet, for people who have been impacted by this bug 😓

We are aware of an issue with the Voyager pack version of "Neither Snow, Nor Curse, Nor Jundark at Night….", where some cosmetics items are not showing in your inventory.

Its also worth noticing that while the server "only" supports 8~10k concurrent players, Steven mentioned that this would represent around 40k~50k (ratio 1:5) active account to reach that number.
Also initially the number would be around 15k to mitigate login issues and then would gradually increase to around 50.000 mentioned above.

Another thing is there will be server reservations to reserve character slots on a server.

I don't think we have specific answers on what exactly those bonuses will be, but they're likely to be stats because that's what archeage did with them.

If you want to wear mismtched gear, you dont have to wear the whole set.

It is similar to FOMO. If it bothers you, nothing really can be done about it except getting your head right. Don't like it, don't play on headstart. With an estimated by Intrepid 3-5 million possible accounts for "live launch" the amount of servers is going to be close to 200 for all regions, with a total of 3 for headstart confirmed.

what sort of information is there for pvp? is there a team working on pvp? have they mentioned things like signing up as a group for pvp arenas, small scale and/or large scale? will there be a visible kdr on your character for other players to see and judge? how much will gear matter? importance of balancing, or separate pvp calculations? etc.

I have speedrun the past 1 year of development YT videos. The transition from unreal 4 to 5 is MASSIVE. BUT
Why does the movement & combat still feel and look everquest from 25 years ago ?
All the characters float around and have very cheaply animated weaponswings, bow attacks, mage casting animations? It doesn't feel like you play a modern game ?
You know when you press a button in WoW or Skyrim or any korean MMO, you have various animations, sounds, all that stuff that make you feel like you are actually in combat.
I don't wanna be a downie but all i hear in these showcase videos that we must be in Awe of the trees and the flowers ? Does Steven not see the trees for the forest ?

Q: In many AoE games, skills become a meta, especially in PvP. They just flood the battlefield. How do you plan to deal with such a situation?

A couple of my thoughts on this.
There is a simple solution - the more players got into the AOE skill zone - the less damage each of them receives - damage distribution.
Like Sky Mage's ult in Dota
Well, the number of targets in control from AOE should also decrease down to one, with an increase in targets in the AOE zone.
And given that there will be protection, then, if there are a large number of targets, the damage will be cut almost to zero.

The second option is with a certain number of opponents in the skill zone, so that the maximum damage flows into the central part of the skill, and at the edges it is minimal.
Kind of like Enigma's ult in Dota.

So with the farm of locomotives (crowds of monsters) you can fight.

It means if South America gets their own server for example, people can choose to play on a SA server for a lower price, however they will not be able to make characters on EU or NA servers because they're not playing full price.

It also means that with the current plan, if you live in Turkey for example, you may be shit out of luck unless Intrepid makes a server close to Turkey. You wouldn't be able to play on EU without paying $15 a month.

Plus any applicable taxes, but you upgrade by paying the difference in packs. When you upgrade you keep the cosmetics you already had from lower tier pack and only get the new cosmetics from higher tier pack not included in lower tier pack.

Hey Draconic! Our dye system isn't for mounts. Dye will work for gear equipped by a character. To get more information on this, check out the wiki here: https://ashesofcreation.wiki/Dyes

As for customizing mounts, there will be plenty to do there. Between mount cosmetics, mount barding, and breedable mounts that are more unique because of animal husbandry, there's lots of ways for players to have distinctive looks for their mounts.

As a PVE player, if for whatever reason a PVP player attacks me, I have to not fight back for him to become corrupted, correct? So I just stand there or attempt to run while they kill me? I know there is no initiative to kill but still

And to follow on that, say I'm collecting a rare resource that player wants, what is stopping him for hitting me and stopping the collection process just for him to hop on the resource? Is there a "combat" status that wouldn't allow him to collect for a few seconds? Is it built that way to encourage pvp?

@severe shore There was a machanic in the livestream showcasing the archer about the current state of gatherables. The gatherable was not determined what it was until it was gathered. As it was at the time, there was no way to just run through a zone and only pick out the material you wanted. You had to actively gather for it.

Anyone capable of answering this question? There will be both static-housing and apartments at T3 node as established by the wiki but can anyone confirm that this will be the case? Citizenship is an issue when it comes to mayoral ship because if you aren't a citizen you can't vote and can't receive the benefit of nodes. Meaning this would be a major point of bottlenecking people stopping them from progressing at the same rate as someone with citizenship

There are 3 types of housing at the village stage - static, apartments, and freeholds. Mayors can upgrade the apartments to house more people. Yes, getting citizenship will get more and more difficult as things progress as both static housing and theoretically freehold space is limited. That being said, you can keep getting apartments but it will eventually get prohibitively expensive

Are freeholds personal instance spaces like houses, taverns, etc?
Can I have both a freehold and tavern up?
If so would it be 2 separate instances that I have to set up and maintain?
If not do I have to pick one or the other?
Is a tavern a freehold?
If I want to set up a tavern how would I go about that?
What can I do and not do in a tavern?

If you mean having alpha access and it expiring, it doesn’t expire. If you have alpha 2 access, you’ll have it until the alpha 2 servers are eventually taken down, supposedly right until launch.

If you also listen to Maggie’s part, she mentioned having some semblance of cosmetics (aka individual pieces) and them being less exclusive and more rotational. They aren’t saying there will never be cosmetic packs and bundles, they just won’t be same.

Seems like you and the other individuals here are talking between each other and about different things. Yes, there will likely be packs in the future. No, they won’t be in the same form as current ones (they are stopping them for a reason; there is too much pressure on them to always have a specific bundle of specific types of items on a set cadence)

Not sure even Intrepid knows the answer to that question yet which is why they’ve left it open ended.

You will certainly have access to buying individual pieces when sold as such (like everyone else).

Whether you can select a la carte items from future bundles based on previous pack purchases, we don’t know and it will heavily depend on how much/little those bundles resemble previous ones and what side of the bed Intrepid woke up that morning.

It was confirmed long ago that a paid subscription would indeed be required to access the PTR after "launch." Just like an A2 key or Beta keys will be required to access testing. There is no "free access" or "open testing" planned.

  • Freeholds are always accessible to everyone? Steven wasnt in party yet could march through everything, could harvest crops, loot chcest, tehre will be some restrictions, right? Can they be fully restricted to players?
  • You spoke about tavern, does that means basically trading spot? That you could set up your vendor in cozy place and can selling items on your own terms?
  • Kinda lacking information about teleportation, I know there will be some through maxed type of city/nodes, but will there be something like hearthstone to your freeholds?
  • Can you have multiple freeholds?
  • How big it can be? This one was kinda large in terms of land "seized", don't you fear that with many players you could run out of space or having too much freeholds, which could ruin th eimmersion?

I'm really sorry i have 2 questions about freehold still. Maybe it's me missunderstanding things :

  • Firstly, i want to know why they said that "Each processing profession has 4 processing stations that unlock as players progress" does that mean that there will be T1 stable, then T2, then T3 then T4? or more like there will be a stable focused on mount, the other focused on farm, the other on pet fighting and... whatever for the 4th?

  • The second question is about a big word : Cosmetic
    I want to know, some house skin look big, some look small.. For exemple in this june 2023 pack the house look small.. so that mean that the cosmetic would only apply on small houses? OR it can still apply to medium/big houses?

AND thanks to intrepid, today is my birthday, it was a very good gift to know about all these freehold things !

@oblique ether First point. There are various tiers of crafting and processing stations. Tiers of gatherables that require specific tools. T3 and 4 stations can only be progressed/built on a freehold for processing from information given in lastet stream. We have yet to get confirmation that crafting stations in node housing (not instanced apartments or inns) works the same, but probably. So you would be able to do basic animal husbandry in a T1 or T2 public stable in a node, and then 3 and 4 on freehold. That is my take on it.

Second. They said they will be releasing more info next week on exactly what cosmetic freehold skins go on which of the 3 types of freehold buildings. The spoke briefly about how footprints will work for cosmetics. That a larger cosmetic may overwrite/overlap other structures but would not affect the "tetris" placement gameplay or progression. So the answer is. Wait till next week.

Has there been discussion about allowing storage rental to other players as part of Freehold businesses? Might be cool if you have Freeholds near resource deposits and players can rent storage and then run caravans from your FH to cities for a fee

Steven mentioned yesterday that there won't be any in-game implementation that allows players to pay a fee to use freehold services, but rather through paying you to join your family. So I imagine the same is for anything that you would charge for. If you want to charge people to use your storage, you'd have to manually engage with each person, come to an agreement, add them to your family, and go from there

Has the AoC technical team gone more in-depth either in video or blog about how they are implementing the ability for servers to handle 500v500 players? I'm really curious and am interested in learning more.
