Hello there, In the latest AMA Steven stated that there should be roughly 35-40 abilities per class. And as far as i've seen not all of have have been revealed. Can future-players submit their idea's to Entripid that gets their attention?
If yes, then what's the best place?
I spend some of my free time on a animation in Blender to explain how my ideal offensive and defensive skillsets look like in League of Legends. And i think it would be great to have those in this game aswell. Hence the question.

A few months ago I saw a cosmetic pack that I really liked. But unfortunately I could not afford to buy it back then.

I am wondering if there is still an acceptable way within the TOS to get something that'd allow me to purchase these cosmetics later. I know selling accounts are not authorized, but is there some kind of CD Key or other invite I could get that would allow me to purchase these cosmetics.

I understand this is a touchy subject. On one side you have dedicated players who did dedicate part of their budget to being there "on time", and they don't want their sacrifice to be in vain. What people are paying for is exclusivity and I understand that.

I am not trying to cut in line, or take away from these people. But if there is a known "accepted" way to get what I missed, even if it comes at a premium price, I'd like to know.

I try to keep faith and tell myself another set will eventually pop up that will surpass the one I want, but I am not sure it will happen.

Hey so I know this is a delicate matter, but I really just want to figure out what is going on. I backed the game almost half a decade ago, and loved seeing the updates and work put on the game. I know an MMO takes a very long time, but the time table keeps delaying and as a backer it really is disheartening to wait for something that then gets pushed back further and further. So, when is this game going to actually come out if it will? I have stopped buying the packs because of this issue and I just want there to be some time line that can be easily found by those like myself who feel...almost lost in this whole thing.

first I wanna say, that I came back to Ashes after not paying too much attention to it for a very long time. Honestly I have been ranting to my friends about the current state of MMOs for a long time and I am really happy to see that Ashes, in a lot of cases, is going the "old" MMO-way. Less spoonfeeding/convenience, more playerinteraction. This is the way that I got to know the friends I am playing with for 15+ years now! I am really impressed and got hyped in less than 1 day of reading up on the game.

Now to my question:

Right now I am playing too much Lost Ark (>2.5k hours) and one thing really bothers me with that game. "Having to play" alt characters to boost your main.

How will Ashes handle this. Will there be raid-lockouts per character or per account? Or no lockouts at all? What about daily/weekly content?

I prefer an one character per account per server kind of game, but I know that this isn't how everyone feels, but the way my current game is doing it feels more like a second full time job (to not fall behind too much) than enjoying a game.

In the 8-man parties for dungeons, will the meta allow for (or require) more than one tank and/or healer? Will it be fluid such that composition can vary without consequence regardless of dungeon? Will certain dungeons require different ratios of composition?

Gliding mounts are tier 2 winged mounts that jump/glide/hover close to the ground. Unlike royal (tier 3) mounts, gliding mounts are not capable of true flight by default.

Anyone can attack a corrupted player without flagging (becoming a combatant) so if corrupted players friends would kill the hunter they would become corrupted themselves because bounty hunter would not be in a combatant state

It is unlikely that steven or the team will respond in this channel... However, it is likely that his/her/whoever’s combat friend will engage a bounty hunter and turn purple/combatant. If the bounty hunter does not fight they will gain corruption and turn red upon death blow. If the bounty hunter uses the pathfinding ability any corrupted player can attack the bounty hunter without further consequences meaning the friend will help but the corrupted person will likely be left to deal the final blow taking no penalty for it. @heavy silo

Any class can wield any weapon, but certain weapons will be better than others and some skills will require a certain weapon to be used. For example, a Ranger will have aimed shot or snipe which requires a bow to use. A Tank might have Shield Bash which will require a Shield, etc.

When you gain that corruption you have the potential of losing your completed items, your weapon, your armor, stuff that is very difficult to achieve; and then the other aspect of that is, that in order to deter basically players taking alternate characters and saying this is my PK alt, the more players you kill, the more corruption you gain, the higher your combat efficacy in PVP diminishes. If you're out there and you killed you know 20 players... you will not be able to perform in PVP any longer. You will need to take that character and go work off that corruption. The other aspect of corruption is that if you kill another player, who is a non-combatant and the level disparity between you and that player is great, you will gain a higher amount of corruption from that single kill. Also every time you die as a Red, you suffer 4x the death penalties.

Death penalties rate are as follows:

• 100% if you die as Green
• 50% if you die as Purple
• 4x of Green's death penalties if you die as Red + the chance to drop your gear on death

Why this matters is because one of the death penalties is accruing EXP Debt (no matter if you die as Green/Purple/Red). Which means, if you die as Red, you're going to accrue 4x EXP Debt every time you die.

Some are thinking they can just let their friends kill them repeatedly to remove the Corruption from their character but EXP Debt will end up replacing the debuff from the Corruption.

If the Corruption score on your character is miniscule that you lose it on 1 death, then you will probably not accrue that many EXP Debt. But if you have a lot of Corruption that you need multiple deaths, EXP Debt can stack up a lot on those deaths.

clerics will have to be able to do some damage in order to be able to level against mobs, however i don't think it well be all that much since AOC is supposed to have rock paper scissors class design so clerics shouldn't be able to compete in terms of dmg, espetially since they're probably going to be the only healing class

Gotcha, my reasoning for why I ask is, if all classes are rock paper scissors structured, how does a cleric compete against a third of the classes in terms of a pvp environment? I would assume some form of damage would be needed to compensate, but I didn't have enough clarity on the topic.

It will be one of, if not the only class for healing, but we should keep in mind that other classes have access to cleric as a secondary, giving either life (healing) or death (damage) augments.

It wont be to the same extent though of course, but I've been curious about how effective the damage abilities compare and how balanced the cleric would be within the rock paper scissors method in pvp.

although all players have access to physical combat as well

like spears/swords, but less abilities based on physical in an arcane class

depends on the type of battle. for castle sieges you have to be in a guild that signs up to be part of the siege

for node sieges you either have to be a citizen of the sieged node to defend, or sign up with the attackers if you arent a citizen

each of the different types of battles have different participation mechanics

id say that node sieges would be the easiest kind of large scale warfare for casual players to access

Remember that you do not see health numbers granularly during pvp combat. Just a more scuffed nameplate as they are damaged. Entirely possible to over-correct and kill someone "by accident" instead of your buddy eating the corruption sandwich it would be you.

Sure they didn't say it was a Hawkeye in the ranged combat update video but that one aerial skill sure did have a "bird's eye view", and also in the melee combat update video it was said it was a sneak peak at the weapons master, so I'm going off of that information cause the wiki does say Alpha 2 will have some secondary classes but not all.

Archetypes - means the 8 base "classes" (Tank, Mage, Cleric, Summoner, Rogue, Fighter, Bard, Ranger)
Classes - means the combination of your primary archetype and a secondary archetype (Tank + Ranger = Warden for example)

So, Tank is an archetype, Warden is a class
