Vast majority rogues however cannot do any large scale or all they do is throw caltrops/throw/auto attack with bow. Every hard breaking exploits like item duping (which I found several since V1) were all reported to intrepid devs which they shadow patched the very next day everytime. They even gave me an exclusive mount as a thank you. The big reason why you believe Polar is so bad is because propaganda spam. Did you ever asked yourself why Nova Ordem left middle of V2? I'll tell you why, I found out the journeyman scroll duping exploit they had been running since V1, reported it to intrepid, the very next day, the dupe was patched, the day after that, Nova Ordem got reset and banned into the abyss, then they proceed to "quit the game" to save their image.

Just from the top of my head:

• PvE was a complete joke / barely existed / was just chores
• PvP after the honeymoon phase is far more rare than it should be for a pvp centric game, you could almost call it a raid logging sim for most players..
• PvP population is perpetually crippled by Korean gearing in combination with the "loser always quit" exclusive content style that a game with only RvR content usually entails.
• After the honeymoon phase / first few months of a server: basically zero small/midscale pvp aside from people just meme'ing the daily reset style raids, the occasional trade run gank, ect.
• Due to the above gearing, there is never any new blood (Like 95% of normal players were basically grey mobs in pvp) and it's just a cycle of the winner absorbing the loser and the population perpetually cannibalizing itself, consolidating and shrinking.
• P2W is a strong element, but that is true even when the game had almost zero company side P2W. The nature of a game with a gear system like that / like ashes / ect leads to massive RMT whether the company does it or not.
• Labour as a system (Energy for crafting) is offputting for a lot of people

I played on and off since release and effectively have never once been able to actually play with my "normal" (not even casual, just... Normal...) friends, even the ones interested in pvp - it's just not an option for them

There's just nothing there to hold an audience of regular people for an extended period and an audience of sweats will never stay in enough population to keep things feeling good without that inflow of normal people slowly converting (as low as their % rate is).

Combined with pvp just being... Not that frequent for a game where the only thing that matters is pvp.

The way that I have described it recently is that the sandbox and world stuff like caravans/sieges/ect are "the stuff that matters" and it's what helps provide goals / gives impact to stuff in the game to keep it alive.

But no non-isometric mmo in the past few decades has survived off of just "the stuff that matters" ---> the games that have "the stuff that matters" always neglect "day to day fun" almost entirely.

Day to day fun stuff (Again I will use BG's/dungeons as an example but they're far from the only ones) is what a ton of other mmo's have but those ones don't have ANY of the "stuff that matters". It's the stuff that you can just do for fun inbetween all of the stuff that matters.

We need both - sandpark was coined for a reason, it should have both, to an at least satisfactory degree.

If normal gamer on server #13's only format to interact with pvp is showing up at a world boss twice before their guild disbands/stops ever showing up after getting rolled, MOST of them are just going to stop playing, only a very small % will leave their friends and go join a content guild.

We need that "for fun" pvp to keep regular people (and also the non regular people ) entertained and also as a hook for bringing them into the content that does matter

But part of why that happens is in large part due to there being effectively 0 content outside of the winner-takes-all-format in combination with having an extremely low amount of content (or content active at a time), whether it's AA/TnL/Ashes/ect.

If people aren't winning and especially if they're losing by any noteworthy margin, they're basically just not really doing anything at that point and will get bored / have drama / implode and get absorbed in the cycle.

Whilst that's still going to be present - at least if there's something that they're still doing together during content time and then something that they're doing together during the day to day gameplay, it can contribute (not stop) to things being somewhat less cannibalistic.

The way that content works in basically all of these games is that there is really only ever enough content for 1/2 sides/"factions" - if you're not with one of those sides, you simply don't show up. (for most people) (Maybe the occasional third faction that will inevitably always end up allying and/or being absorbed, but that's it).

I worry that this game will have the same issues if steven still plans to have the smaller concurrent server sizes. I think this game only works on a mega server where large guilds have almost 0 incentive to take over nodes that arnt tier 5 or castles, so small guilds have real content fighting over the smaller nodes, and have garentees to fight with other smaller guilds. If it remains that places like the dunedark or tropics are just only lived in by PvE players avoiding or dont have enought players to have competitive elections half the map will be dead and everyone will be in one of 2 alliences as the server dies

There’s really not that many “casts” in the game. Most animations are sub 1 second and that’s getting a little weird with server/client desync in MMOs.

I think it’s healthier for the game if doing optimal damage is harder. More stuff should be like Rogue and Summoner when it comes to damage complexity.

That’s at least a good starting point for skill expression. Adding more CC and defensives can be trickier design wise.

It's not a bad thing. It's just that it's the only thing in the game that acts like that. So it feels weird.

Having to recast after every silence, stun, trip, najesh poison, ram hitting you. Giant running into you and so on is annoying

I’d love for them to go the route of haste for casting and we either A.) Finish casts faster obviously or B.) You get more ticks in the cast. Like nimble might tick another time if you reach X break point of speed

The faster you get resonance procs off the better.

Yeah the notes were also confusing on that. Made sound like it changed from previous, but it doesn't look like it even did

They posted those notes and for a week the only thing it didn’t do was have the 50 % evasion nerfed. You could still cleanse all CC/Silences which you SHOULD be able to. But now you can’t
