Crowfall was full loot drop but shit was relatively easy to get so crafters were constantly resupplying gear + war materials as people died. there was risk everywhere, but if you died it wasn't a crazy set back that meant you couldn't recover.

Yes, we are active recruiters in game and out of game. We cast a wide net exposure wise, but then filter out applicants pretty heavily before officially accepting them into the guild after a detailed voice chat and vibe check. I think we have a 25% acceptance rate atm overall. Then we do monthly roster audits to clean the roster of inactive members.

For us, quality is top priority. We want quantity too, but definitely not at the sake of quality lol. The process has worked for us so far, so we plan to keep at it 🤷‍♂️

Like I said already, I don't really have the first hand experience to actually have a conversation about it. All I can say is that I dislike you and people like you. Yes I have to hand it to Grey. They took EF from us after trying for months and did so after finally abusing food stacking that Luci and I insisted we not do in turn. A lot of us crashed out of the game over that and I don’t regret uninstalling the game and ERPing in FFXIV the next 2 years until we got back together for BDO and TL.

I just can’t be bothered to take a game so seriously I abuse exploits to win. Something Grey and Polar have in common.

I mean I talk a lot of shit and nonsense but EPH was without question the top guild Ashes ever saw and it's not even close. A lot of guilds posture as if they are super accomplished but EPH actually was one of the few that backed it up. What they did in P1, rerolling on Vyra MID P1(when it was just weekend testing BTW) and then curb stomping my guild that had a huge leg up in time in the game and gearing was impressive. It took Amnesty+Genesis(when Genesis had way more players) to match EPH. That was incredibly impressive. I've fought... And mostly lost to all the top NA guilds in this game a lot haha. But EPH was hands down the strongest. Doesn't mean I still won't talk shit but I give credit where credit is due.

I fucking loved the skilling part of it, was heaven for a crafter/gatherer. They kept improving on it until they just scrapped the entire specialized routes and hidden caches gimmicks and just went "oh now you get extra levels and 3 RNG rewards per extra level."

Not to say what Eph did wasn't impressive, it is, Eph Gold like I said one of the strongest guilds I've ever seen, but there's circumstances that lead to such conclusions that don't necessarily involve them just having really good hands and coordination

I don't remember exact details but you act as if we won when people quit and that's not true we clearly took EF and defended it which shows in the montage for proof. Look it was fun and a hell of a rivalry both of us died when we went to fight Brickt and that's when people mentally cashed out the game at that point.

Not saying it wasn't. I'm just point out that 1) you guys used an exploit that we refused to use and 2) when you dec'd on WW like 24 hours later we accepted that we had to use it too. It's just not a fun feeling knowing you have to use exploits to remain competitive.

And as much as I respected Fooz and a lot of those guys it did annoy the fuck out of me how much the culture of EPH changed around exploits when a lot of Grey started playing with us in BDO and TL. And it's one of the main reasons why EPH gained a horrible reputation in Ashes.

It's the same reason why I struggle to even bother hitting 25 in this game every phase when our main competition is people like Polar who willfully abuse exploits to gain every advantage. Shit is just fucking dumb, bro.

the ENTIRE REASON North/Tm and Co. split off and re-made Polar was partly because they couldn't stop dropping slurs in our voice comms but mostly because they couldn't stop abusing exploits and pushing others to do the same

In all seriousness and fairness, as much hate as Polar gets for out of game drama, they are the team to beat atm in PVP purely from an in game persepctive. Only team i would say has consistently competed at a high level in PVP across all phases.

There are definitely a lot of groups that have had pockets of competitiveness across different phases at their peak, and certainly a number of guilds / groups who's arrows are heavily pointed up right now, but they all technically still have something to prove imo. Amnesty (led by @storm wedge ) had a really solid crew with a couple good allied guilds last phase after Polar and Supple basically quit. Personally I know our group over at AEGIS has been growing our competitive core rapidly as well, and are hoping to hit EA strong too (though humbly id say we have a lot to prove and work to do).

Im actually looking forward to seeing the competitive landscape in Early Access, as it seems there are a number of groups that will be looking to hit the scene hard. Im hoping its the most competitive phase yet from a PVP perspective. It would be refreshing to see multiple competitive groups all going back and forth in the open world this phase, any and all outside drama aside.

Ya we took all of those too and I legit didn't notice a difference maybe at the highest end where every single % matters it is better but alot of those ended up making no difference at all whereas adding 20 guild members would have kept us from having to spin up a fourth guild and deal with all that.

But regardless of how they got there, the fact is they were powerful, and they were a force that anyone trying to compete on the server would need deal with. I definitely agree the mass gear and gold discrepancy played a major part, but also, I think they have had good organization, shotcalling, and movement over there in prior phases, as much as I hate to admit it.

If the question is what guilds i would expect to be the toughest competition and give others in this phase the hardest time, Id say Polar is a guild i expect to come out strong. I think it would be naive to underestimate that myself at least. I suppose we will see though.
