Content denial is fine imo. But in a state where nodes dont get destroyed it is going against what the intention of the game is meant to be.

For these and other reasons, most people are only on the PTR.

I wonder when players stopped testing the alpha and its systems and started playing it as a game and how negatively thats impacted the player-tester experience.

I remember when we all collectively were saying we wanted to break the alpha so we could create a good game.

And yes "break but dont abuse" is a big part of that. But when we reach out to development and they say one hour its intended and the next its not because people are upset, I'm not sure they should be handing out punishments for good testing behavior.

Preventing others from testing the game.

That's why the november marketing push, we are no longer considered good testing stock. We've been spoiled by bunny hop movement, some abilities working (grapple), no fall damage, true lawless zones like the desert/tropics/jundark. 2.5 ( while being rough, there were still fights happening at poi's that were not carphin forge or steelbloom). Intrepid wants to incinerate and start a new narrative chapter with testers who never experienced the fun we had.

As far as discouraging RMT for this game, crate pack carriers and a follow feature is a completely uno reverse card in terms of design. Instead that only seems to incentivize either the casual ( who the game is not meant for) or the RMT'er with multiple accounts. I'm baffled to be honest on either to be willingly blindful or to not question this change.

In terms of quality of life, phenomenal. Holy fuck I didnt think I'd miss flight paths to give the hands a rest sometimes... cleric life. Somehow this economy-focused phase allowed us to get to a stage 4 settlement too quickly and ilvl 29 crafts require GM tables so people were leap frogging item progression since there were completed ilvl 29 items dropping 5-6 weeks prior to GM tables existing, which destroyed the market for high-rarity tier 1 radiant items.

The pacing is just all kinds of off.

Then you also have the issue of crates generating gold via a low threshold, low risk, and low skill requirement avenue and you've got yourself a botter/paid farmer dream scenario, dumping massive gold supply into an open market, so inflation runs rampant.

Plus, the downward pressure on gold supply, which should be the gold sinks associated with processing and crafting, are getting undermined because of the aforementioned completed item drops.

It's just an absolute mess because Intrepid sort of created the fertile ground for RMT to be as big of an issue as it is.

I dont like construction crates for node leveling. Think the system would be better if it relied on people bringing raw materials to a node and use crafting and processing skills to build benches and buildings. As well as some day or week long campaigns of pushing wild life or bandits away from the town.

Once a city hits level 3 I could see having to import processed goods from other regions to build a better city wall or what have you.

It’s when you hit that Town level when I think requiring outer regional mats to make their node better is ideal tbh like I used in the gate example. Maybe the elves or whatever we end up having in Ashe’s have enchanted wood that does opposite the stone. Stronger against magical siege weapons etc

the problem is this game being a test is still treated so strongly like a game and not a test- making it hard for players to want to help.

Imagine.. just imagine with me..
Steven: hey guys! were testing our jman crafting systems- everyone has access to do it and try it out- recipies are temporarily fully unlocked for everyone, and tree drop rates are 3x meaning you can make more materials so we can test the systems..

test for a week or 2- collect data. Afterward items can be wiped and drop rates set back to normal and then move on to the new test.

That'd be what the PTR should be used for, but the PTR is currently just to drive interest for future updates. They don't care about the feedback. They have a vision of what they want to release, and they are going to release it unless some wild backlash happens.

absloutely to this i agree a lot on this-- but give people max level for a period of time for crafting to teset it etc. give people the ability to actually test what you want to test.

F the economy of the game- it doesnt matter right now- they still have the job opening posted that has been there for years for it- focus on the mechanics, bug fixes, etc.

there are so many old. bugs not touched because people stopped reporting them since they have been reported so many times- intrepid assumed they were just gone? and still there to this day
