Lawless zones need incentives. In 2.5 they had BIS gear in the Tropics/Jundark that could only be obtained by killing bosses in lawless zones, this created a ton of organic PvP.

With the stat and crafting rework, there's no reason to go to the existing lawless zones or dynamic lawless zones. The gear from there is bad and extremely rare and the rarity buff to gathering is negligible and not worth the risk.

I have barely visited lawless zones because they aren't tied to power progression in any way. I was constantly in the lawless zones in Phase 2.5 because my best gear was out there, and I had constant fighting.

Problem is there are only so many hours during prime time. So you would have to choose between, guild wars, Node wars, Sieges, World Bosses, and other events they have in mind.

Guild wars should be the exception.

Its already bad enough that the points don't count for an entire hour after its declared. It favors Zerg style gameplay because you're giving both guilds time to summon forces and ball up.

Before the change a smaller guild could get a potential point lead with ambush style tactics against a bigger guild.

In their effor to "make it fair" they've pushed it entirely in favor of zergs.

I think they need to revamp guild wars first before they touch risk/rewards. They need to make them objective based like the original design from p1/p2 but actually put effort into making it work and balancing it. And then make a guild war declaration window during prime time so people can't abuse off hours for "free" wins. And then they can add in risk/reward mechanics.

My favorite risk/reward idea is to create a gold coffer where you have to pay x amount of gold as a maintenance cost, and have to keep the coffers above a certain threshold to keep the guild "active" which scales with your guild level. And whenever you lose a war, your opponent steals x amount of gold from the coffers. There's a minimum threshold to maintain, and if you fail to maintain this threshold over a period of time then your gold becomes "inactive" and loses any of the guild leveling benefits you have so far obtained.

Leadership is instrumental to people learning a job or skill, but so is work ethic, willingness, determination, how they went through college, what college they went through, etc. I listed half a dozen and there's probably half a dozen more reasons if I think about it.

I've been in charge of people too. Kids just getting their first job, veterans coming in. Work ethic is half the battle imo, but "work ethic" varies too, because a lot of jobs want your work ethic to be you working to death. Me? I just want you being willing to do your job well, to save you and me a headache of having to do it again.
