I even took my time leveling this phase and I’ve run out of things to do except hit rocks and upgrade my gear for no actual reason because there is no PvP

I feel like this is somewhat self fulfilling, too. Like, the people that want to PvP are quitting because there's no PvP, which further reduces the actual availability of PvP.

Settlement wars (now that they're turned back on) don't really mean anything, except that players just leave that area or log off. There's no actual consequences (rewards or losses) involved for the PvP that is available, which again creates a vicious cycle of PvPers putting the game aside.

The goal wasn't to rush to lvl 25 for some folks and just pvp. Those systems all need testing and feedback as well as ALL of the outside systems that feed into the PvP loops need to be looked at as well. ❤️

The difference is when the game is subscription, there is permanance. You have your character with all the progress you've made. Even if you want to quit for a year and come see what has changed, you will have a strong starting point. We paid over $100 to see the entrails of what will eventually be a complete game. Everything we do will be erased. All of this lifeless grinding that these groups are doing to be the top dogs will be deleted from existence. And they will do it again, and it will be deleted again.

Node XP shouldn’t be attributed from mobs/gathering/crafting till t3. Everything pre t3 should be moving construction crates down and building up a town as if you were really building a settlement in the wilderness. Lets coalitions or guilds target nodes they deem attractive and also pushed back the glutton that is WS being centralized economy every single phase

honestly, to this point, you have like 60 days until harbinger goes live. you have 60 days to gather materials with legendary shit popping up everywhere, where quality copper is going for like 5 silver a pop, where it's really not hard to craft heroic+ level 26 gear if you just put in the time and gather between now and november.

it's one thing if you're in a guild trying to control nodes and server politics, but being "competitive" in PvP has such a significant grace period because of the fact that server progression is gated by settlement upgrades

the hilarious thing is that people hitting level 10-20 now actually have an easier time compiling gear and pushing to 25 than people did in week 1

so no, it's actually not true that no-lifing is necessary to be competitive, unless you're an idiot who thinks winning an alpha during week 2 is relevant beyond discord pvp memes

A good few spinners(dagger/xbow), few gs/daggers for target picking, strong tanks, DEDICATED healers who knew their roles, and synchronized flash waves went a long way in deciding who won and who died

Nah I was allied with Tier for awhile. They were good, super good, but even our alliance on Cherno wasn't facing the full might of Eph and we were losing. There were like 5-6 guilds altogether who could stand up against Eph gold before first siege and most of them hated each other. Truth is, Eph won early TnL, definitely
