Long term idea is that people will fight for control of some areas because those areas have best resources for crafting, and that mobs will have to be killed in pve to make gathering possible.
And world that evolves from this kind of loop, build upgrades, control the node as mayor so you can have advantage in pvp because you want to control "the good area".

The thing with PvX game like Ashes is that they have PvE content and PvP content

And in some activities PvE overlaps with PvP (world bosses/contesting spots etc.)

So PvErs are unhappy that they have to be a part of PvP

And PvPers hate doing PvE

There is spatial awareness, teamplay/organization, temporal awareness, and also live memory, being able to follow who did what and when.
IQ ties into that and is definitely a factor, but I have seen many great players who are really not sharpest tool in the shed.

I am uncertain what a wipe would accomplish, other than annoy the players who've spent a lot of time and effort thinking our efforts were at least going to last for a little bit of time?

Reset the gold values? Sure, but the gap is going to just creep in again, one way or another. A bug will slip in, a change will occur. We literally just had crate runs nerfed to oblivion, and thus any "gold printing" going forward will not be nearly as profitable as before; putting the players with lower gold at a huge disadvantage. Just like the gear rush in the early phase. Stuff like this will happen again. And again. Wipe will solve nothing, it will just burn people out quicker.

So you can force a wipe upon all players; and have a lot of players annoyed and pissed... and potentially just not returning until they recover from the burnout. Or make a fresh-start server which will divide the very small EU community; making it even more difficult to find groups.

Even considering a wipe without fixing all the broken recipes, rebalacing recipes (look at LW apprentice bags and then look at tailoring apprentice bags, and please reconsider the comical quantity of items required for gear at level 10 and 20!?...), fixing the comical processing costs, deciding on a droprate for gear and stick to it for AT LEAST a few weeks... It would just result in the same disaster again.

Regardless of which; you better make a decision soon.... Because if you "sneak" a wipe or fresh-start upon the players, they will not appreicate it.

Depends on the type of crate for what they cost(to craft, not getting the ingredients), where you turn them in, and what you get from them.

the in game table is pretty buggy, main thing you need to know is which crates give which resources, and that more distance directly relates to how much gold you get. The calculation is linear, and then the DR is applied.

Exp it self should be fixed, but the displayed % is still bugged i think, villages happen around 75% and towns around 45% (based on previous level ups)
Anvils nodes generally level slower due to lack of higher lvl mobs to farm, other nodes are just slower since there are less leveling grind with lack of farmable POI's compared to the Riverlands

not a fault of crafting system. There was a bug that too much level 20 gear was dropping in steelbloom and carphen and the top guilds explolited it gearing everyone in full sets. Then intrepid fixed it so normal players can't close the gap to the pvp guilds.

Im sure they are playing around with drop rates to figure out what they are happy with. The economy is too fucked right now to have this phase last to beta. My guess is they will eventually fix static nodes, get all the bugs out of crafting so everything is craftable, polish up things that should have been working correctly by now and do a fresh start

they talked in detail in a stream about where they want drops vs. crafting to be, although they may adjust drops up some (which is needed) I wouldn't be expecting it to return to anywhere near where it was.
