More complications down the line.
Client needs to be synced to the server if some logic is changing.
Having 2 versions of production client, changing downloader to support that besides current live/ptr/stage/whatever is extra work, and people will 100% try to connect to "wrong server" with client in sync with other server...

This whole thing "they could just do it" or "select more player friendly time..."
Devs are humans, and there is solid chance it was crunch and is still crunch, and we can only hope that they are not in total death march mode.

Programming is hard, games harder, mmos harder, and when doing dynamic resource sharing between dynamic server workers, syncing all that up with all UE hooks/callbacks...

People mental health gets affected, burnout is real thing.
Doing "EU deploy" later means that when something goes wrong (and as anybody doing software will tell you, it will, it is basically guaranteed to happen eventually) it means more stress, especially if it is in off-hours.

That's also true, but they did a poll on which people will spawn in and it only got 4000 votes.

If you assume a few numbers off of that you get a pretty low player count especially for EU, and then yeah 50% that for the spawns. I think more started in riverlands especially for pvp

Well generally a pvp game starts dying off when a group is overlay dominant and the players on the other end decide to just leave. Once they've left, the dominant group leaves because they have no one to combat against.

Im going to give the game another 6months and come back, if nothing is done about the grind loop or lack of actual questing, I'll pretty much drop the game until finally release.

I do love alot about ashes of creation.
