BSC tried the commie approach. It was downvoted after a while & the cohesion kinda died. Collectivism worked for the most part funnelling resources to artisans. Bound recipes would make that more difficult to implement.

In the last few weeks they seem to be stripping gearing out of the game through non-crafted means. There are a few quest outlets, but mob drops and vendors seem -almost- devoid of gearing. Probably start at the Aela Gate, do the Sweat of your Brow quest, and really try to get a handle on the crafting system.

Probably. A month ago they did bump up rates on mobs quite a bit, before nerfing it to the ground. PTR testing phases have fluctuated on whether the general vendors sell gear or not.
So it's a little up in the air. Crafting will always be super important tho, so def try to get your hands in to it at the start. Even if it's just gathering and processing.
Chose what race looks good for you. They're planning on not having Racials, but instead tying abilities to backgrounds everyone can chose from.

My best guess would be that they wanted to deploy a single set of infrastructure to save costs (part of the reason for a mega realm - because most server workers are underutilized for their lifecycle) and after the backlash they just deployed both US and EU realms into the same us-east-2 AWS EKS cluster.

This question has come up before I believe. I think the official answer is that they (Intrepid) do not have the infrastructure or resources available to host a server geo-located in EU. At least not for the Alpha, anyway. They said that they do plan to have proper region-available servers at release, but for now, it's just a separate server for EU folks to enjoy that happens to be based in the US.
It sucks for EU folks with high ping, but in the Alpha, there's not much that can be done for now
Server infrastructure costs a good deal, so I don't know how eager they are to implement region-based servers at this point in the development of the game

It would be nice to have more realms, but I think the number of players so far probably hasn't warranted it. My guess is that they're focusing on their dynamic server worker system and making that as stable and reliable as possible before opening more realms.

Ich mag das neue Crafting garnicht es fühlt sich nun so an als würde man bestraft man muss mittel farmen zum Craften man muss die Materialien farmen und dann muss man noch basis materialien kaufen 30bronze taler pro material
sollte man diese Basis Materialien später selber craften können finde ich das umso ärgerlicher da man bis dahin so unfassbar viel Gold in diese Basis Materialien stecken muss zwecks aufwerten des Job's
Der Loop ist nun Gold farmen um überhaupt Farmen zu können gefühlt die gebühr ist ok man nutzt ja auch die Station sozusagen aber die Basis materialien mechanik mag ich null
Ich mag es wenn der Fortschritt länger dauert aber das ist mir dann zu Heftig das muss ich ehrlicherweise so sagen

aoe doesn't flag you, you have to flag intentionally for aoe to hurt another player, but there are events where an area will become PvP enabled for a time, or if you loot another player you flag
