You only need common scrolls for any quality.
They have no impact on artisan items even though they can be enchanted.

Personally I don't like hard tiered gear like this.
I don't mind the static stats but static base stats with rng extras would make gear less samesame.
But the tiers.. Without instanced bg's and twinked pvp toons like wow, it's just bad.
lvl 19 vs lvl 20 is not 1 lvl difference like it should be, it's an entirely different bracket because of gear.

Yeah I struggled on ranger with the base bow. Bought a new bow at 10 went from like 100 power to 1200 lmao! Apparently that’s not even close to what I could have.

Incremental gains is all the incentive you need to grind. But instead of needing to go get 10 levels for a gear up then another 10 then another 10, you can get new gear every level or 2.
It's not gonna change here, just a preference on mmo style.

Now, add twinks and bgs and the current system will be great but a 29 shouldn't be scared of a 30.

if you have done the introduction quests, you should know the basics. After that it is pretty much the same on novice level for all other crafting professions. It will get more complicated later when you need things from processing. But often you can find information where stuff comes from in the tooltips in the artisan screen

the world of ashes is divided into multiple zones and each one is handled by a server worker. if an area is highly populated and you try to log in, you will be put into a queue for that worker

The way their servers are set up is by splitting them into individual server workers. Works to keep the whole server from crashing but at the same time royally screws queue times that are based on server worker load. You'll end up in a five hour queue since people can still walk into your server worker while you are pushed back and wait. They do know it's an issue and trying to prioritize a way to make it better

Yaeh... you are right.. I would prefer there to be two different vendors and that you only start with a handful recipes and the other basic ones added to a vendor and only show known recipes by default. Maybe at an alternative tree view like it is in the crafting statiosn to the artisan book. But I'm sure they will be look at those things as soon as they have figured out how crafting should look like in the end

I am the only one that feel like playing aoc is unrewarding?
Grind for hours not even get a level.In that time make maybe 1 gold. Go chop wood for another hour, spend this 1 gold to process it. Come back in few hours to claim processed wood, put it on market. it wont sell and you are down 1 gold you spent hours grinding.
Whole day gone and you got half the level, a bit of lumberjack exp bit of processing exp and feeling of void

if it is solely about short term reward, you are correct, it can feel like that. In general it helps if you enjoy the activity itself, if not it feels like a chore. Playing the economy is tricky, some things work, others only in certain locations, and some not at all. Experimentation is required to find success in the game of markets. But when you finally do, it is very rewarding, but that's more of a long term thing.

I had similar issues after each of the update/patches. When I went into steam and verified my game files, it found missing/corrupted files multiple times. After verifying my files the game has run smoothly. Not sure if that will help you but it helped me

I only deliver common or uncommon crates. Everything else i sell at market or use to craft (mainly craft). I go from miraleth - winstead back n fourth with 3 crates each time and i feel that its more productive and lucrative than taking purple/heroic crates to far distances. Based on how long it takes to get the materials to run those crates consistently. As far as the bots I was just being sarcastic. I don't think that has anything to do with it. I'm honestly still trying to figure out how the crates are priced/calculated. You would think you'd make a shit ton for purple or heroic crate when youre traveling a long way. 11g seems low for that.

it's important to note ashes is a bit of a hybrid, tag targeting with action combat, so i doubt it will change. There is risk v reward on roll as it takes your stamina, but rewarded if done right. It just adds a little bit more depth to your boring tab targeting MMO (in my opinion) but yeah if you really dont like it that much don't play it and move on, completely agree 🙂

Can't comment on what is optimal for summoner, but right now weapons which are normally considered to be physical based, have mostly physical based options in the weapon tree. Something like bleed. So it is harder for a caster to create a synergy with a typical physical based weapon. Besides that it pretty much depends on stats on the weapon. If you get a weapon with the stats you prefer, you can make it work very well. The issue with the weapon tree synergies is something intrepid is aware of and they plan to rework weapon trees in one of the next milestones.

I'm not familiar with all weapon trees, but if it is about dealing critical hits with your weapons, there are actually quite a bit of options for that. Early on everything with the right stats will do. If you wanna have a look at other skill trees you can go to the gateway where you start the game. There are free weapons lying around and equipping them will allow you to see the complete tree of that weapon type and the tree is the same for both physical and magical variants.

Do you mean crafting and processing? Its quite involved, and yes, you are right, it sucks to redo that multiple times. BUT, they make a lot of changes, and have esp to crafting.

If you want to get into it, I suggest gathering and processing.

You are limited in how many skills you can promote. You have to specialze. Many players use their "main" toon for gathering and alts for processing/crafting, usually things that work together. Gathering wood, lumbermilling, and carpentry work together. Or mining, metal working, and weaponsmithing.

But you cannot do everything yourself. Crafting and processing can use mats/pieces from other crafts. It is designed to make us work together : )

Lock on your character in what way? There's the "action cam" you can toggle by pressing , (comma) I believe, by default. But otherwise camera should always be locked centered on your character, unless I'm misunderstanding

At this moment, three members of a guild named “Ash Blessing” are actively speed hacking on the Pelune EU server. If an administrator were to log into this server, the issue would be immediately obvious without the need for extensive investigation.

This situation is extremely frustrating for legitimate players. When people pay for a game, they expect the developers and administrators to actively enforce the rules and maintain fair gameplay. Allowing cheaters to continue unchecked significantly damages the experience and discourages honest players from continuing to play.

I respectfully request that this issue be reviewed seriously and that appropriate action be taken to remove players who are exploiting the game. Consistent enforcement against cheating is essential to preserving the integrity and enjoyment of the game for the wider community.

Is there any purpose to the PTR that anyone knows of? I have zero interest of getting on it if its just going to be a grind fest. The whole point of testing is to test not sit in one place for days on end.

The PTR is to test new updates that the team is working out in a "safe" play environment, usually with specific goals in mind every time they open it up. They often (always?) have gear vendors and boost vendors to get folks to the level and gear that they need/want.
The main game (not the PTR) is where normal play happens. It is still a grind fest though, that's just the nature of this beast.

The PTR has been used since the beginning of Alpha testing. Its not new. Its where Intrepid can toss up builds that need specific targeted testing, and make sure nothing explodes. Also can wipe it frequently.

None of that, is a good idea to do, on live servers where there are many many people who would not be happy with that type of testing.

My account on Lyneth server is full 5 slots. I had to make 3 toons on another server and stopped shortly after because its a huge waste of time farming for hours to get gear to test with on another server. I put my 5 toons in a guild all by themselves to transfer my items between them to save time and its annoying to say the least. I joined it as an Alpha to test not spend days on end grinding as if its a full released game. The exp rate needs to be bumped up a great deal during this phase and materials and recipes added so proper testing can take place with a full wipe each and every month exacly 30 days from the last. I have zero interest in grinding on a " PTR " with the exact same thing. There is no reason to have two servers up like that as this is why we are suppose to be here and if your not here for Alpha testing well then you may want to read the description again. That is how I feel about it. <

You dont have to "grind" anything on the PTR servers. They are for targeted testing and are wiped frequently. Also often, boost vendors are there so we can boost and skip the leveling.

The experience rates have been adjusted frequently, and they need to mirror actual "what they want to test" experience levels, you know, for the data they collect along side of it.

It is very understandable that you arent interested in that kind of "gameplay" as it really is testing, it is not launched, and it will repeat. Sounds like maybe a good time to step away and check back in closer to beta? Lots of people step away, come back, test certain things, ect.

I have Tank, Ranger, Cleric at 20 Bard 15 Figher 11. I made an alt guild for them to move items between each so I could avoid farming or buying multiples of gear for each. If I find gear I equip it, test it and if theres an issue I submit a ticket. I have 77s probably 5g in total on all toons. While trying to test the class system I found that testing is limited by the server itself. I can only make 5 toons and its a long long grind on each to level. The PTR should be for their patch work and thats fine but the main servers should function the same but wiped once a month instead of whatever we are at now. Materials and Recipe's should be on vendors along with a exp shrine set at 300% or something to move things along faster. Lets save the mindless grind for full release shall we.

I've leveled several characters to around 11-13 but am confused how I should earn gold to be able to afford gear. Same level mobs are starting to get really tough while still in initiate gear. Do I really just need to mindlessly run crates for 20s until I have enough to buy gear?

There's a lot of fairly cheap adept gear available at this point. Common gear for just a few silver (at least on Shol). Sportsfishing can be a pretty easy way to earn some gold. It's easy with a low bar to get into, just gets a little boring.

I outfitted my fresh 10 with full adept gear for a couple of gold total (probably less now) via the market. Weapons and jewelery are the biggest bang for buck. You can farm glint/mats and sell them and get that, and some crates.

That explains it. Joeva is so overrun on Lotharia that you get drastically lagged out. Try moving to another town with your buisness. I am using Winstead and sometimes Miraleth and Halycon. I never did fall through the ground there so far. Miraleth can be a bit laggy too but not as much as Joeva.

I mean, I can make 2-3g/hour while watching TV farming mobs 2-3 levels before me in packs. Finding the right sweet spot and type of mobs matter. I like spiders, otters, skelatons personally. Sometimes goblins if they bug me. Depends on class too. Some farm groups better than others.

Dont look to make ABIGCHUNK of gold at a time. Slow and steady.

same here! That's the concept that hooked me. I got it and tried anyways and i'm really enjoying just learning the base classes. There are some fun and unique abilities to play around with. It's nice getting to know the base classes a lil

I don't doubt base classes are fun, but the class combo system is actually unique and makes this game different than others - so just wondering why that's not in the game already.

The game is 140G, if you add PTR yes, its 280G. But 140G is the stand alone.

Tbh, a lot of what will be in the game long term is probably already there, just not accessable. Especially since most of the big data hog stuff is stuff like music iirc

Yes probably but when fully released we will need 500gb space because of Unreal Engine 😄

Hopfully that will come down with optimization and them moving less stuff from client side to server side. But even then a game of this scale will probably still be 300 gb easy

Unfortunately, no matter how hard they try, it's impossible for them to achieve this optimization on Unreal Engine. I say this with regret as a programmer working with unreal engine 🙁

It uses temp space to process the update yes. But my game files are 140. Not sure what you are looking at. Sometimes crash logs can build up tho. Do you also have the PTR downloaded?

I'm sure haven't PTR, you need to check your update folder inside of steam. updates and base game stored different on steam folder.
