The war system needs redone. The pvp in game has potential though.
If you run crates, guess what you might get killed. Risk/reward.
There's so much to do that doesn't make 'most' people want to pvp you.

However. They REALLY need to fix the flagging system.

The only time i've seen someone go 'red' is when they accidentally hit someone with an aoe attack fighting an npc..

Flag and hit a non-flagged? Nah you're good as long as they fight back!!! Ofc they fight back..

Game based on crafting: craft calculator doesnt work, you literally have to guess quality for everything you craft, town boons which were compensating that shiet are off and no info when they are on again. I have a question related to PvP/PvP settings.
Assume I toggled PvP on and there are 3 players in the front of me. 2 are combatants, 1 not.

1. my require PvP settings (both) are ON.
2. the last option to include other people in aoe is OFF.

I cast a aoe spell on top of all 3 people.

What happens? Both combatants get damage, the unflagged guy is safe?

im not certain, id need to relaunch the game to be sure, but i have the 2 checked and can still kill unflagged players, but if I have it enabled attacking a flagged player I believe it priority damages the flagged and doesnt attack the unflagged (assuming they are both in close prox to each other and could be hit by my aoe)... but i also go corrupted alot clearing out parties from my farm spots.

I think for an alpha its in a good spot and keeps me entertained.

Just make sure you are ready for lag, problems, systems not working, queues, and the fact it can be wiped whenever and all your progress lost, you know, typical alpha things.

If you want a more polished, well rounded game I wouldn't suggest it for now, ide say try again in a few months.

Yes. But he has no queue because he’s somewhere else. You have a server worker which is responsible for one area of the map. If jeova has lets say a cap of 100 people, you log out there, then you are in a queue. People ingame move in and out of that area, are afk whatever, so the queue takes ages

Next time before logging - Hit page up - This gives you a list of details - Under "SW" (server worker) theres a number which corresponds to which server you're in - E.g Joeva is 36 - before logging off - run out the town untill the SW number changes.

When you are crashed out of the game, when logging back in your character is not given citizenship permissions properly. This is fixed by re-logging back into the game again.

devs should know by the way that most of us have to log back in twice everythime the server crashes putting additional stress on the system.

No real quest line just yet, and it won't really be like wow in that sense where you just follow quests to Max level mate, bit of different game.

You can group up and grind mobs, you can go do some gathering, processing and crafting.

You can go to the main nodes and grab commissaries from the boards. They range from 5ish to 20 - ranges from harvesting fish, trees and rocks, to killing wolves, bears and Minotaurs.

There's a couple different ways, I tend to just cycle through and do what I enjoy as sitting grinding mobs in a group isnt fun for me personally.

I tend to go to joeva, grab the higher level quests, for killing and gathering, do a big loop then complete all 20 at once for some big xp. (Sometimes there's like 4 quests to kill wolves - grab them all and you'll tick all 4 off at once)

There is no reason not to have a wipe, unless one has stuff you want to keep by any way possible.

People just think oh " dagger " but any item is combined to other aspects as well with mats, rarity, % drop chance etc.

If you throw a wrench into a machine and let it smack around and rattle a bit, the damage is not fixed by just removing the wrench.

There are no actual good reasons to not wipe the servers at launch at all.

yea i mean there is settlements (ran by actually players to evolve the world ingame} so there is times where settlements will have a war against eachother....there is also guild wars / duels but most of the pvp takes place by being ganked for your profits

Do not look at ashes as a fully fleshed out game. It is a developmental alpha phase. If you can not handle there being no hand holding quests, your character being bricked, long queue times in cities, systems not fully implemented, the systems implemented not always working as intended, or your computer deciding it just hates ashes. Don't buy it. On the other hand, many people will enjoy it for what it currently is and they were actively working on it.

Glad it fixed it for you. Graphics in the test phase are not optimized now so until then, we have to change settings now and then to make it the best we can. The blurry and smudgy effects will not be in the full release thankfully. I think it´s an older setting we are using right now until they release a bigger patch fixing a whole bunch of vfx issues in one go.

That's pretty common knowledge; why would you bother doing anything before level 20, since you can equip Radiant Gear then? Which is relatively easy to obtain, and only at level 20 should you start thinking about crafting better stuff. Until then, it's just about grinding your character and gathering/processing levels.

I heard that 2026 should be the road to beta for AoC. But I get the feeling we are a little short on content and other game defining milestones already. And with Harbingers basically not working and Intrepid being occupied with fixing bugs, fighting RMT and bots and repairing the economy, I don't see where and when any of the well needed content should come from. Many systems are just placeholders already, classes are not fully fleshed out, PvP is a mess, caravans are useless, crates are not working as intended, the corruption system can be circumvented and where the heck did the freeholds go? I'm not even starting to dream about castles, arenas, node tiers 5 and 6, housing, alliances, families, religions, secondary archetypes, Tulnar, the Crucible or the Underrealm.
That are 12 big, even huge, things I just mentioned there. Do you guys see it coming that Intrepid manages to, on average, release one each month?

There's a local corruption threshold that needs to be met before the event kicks off. So what can increase the local corruption? Players killing other players in the area, settlement buildings constructed, settlement level ups, bosses killed in the area, new crafts completed, wars or sieges initiated, and we're also gonna have corrupted elites that are trying to reach a portal inside the Harbinger. And if you don't stop them, that'll also increase local corruption. All right, once that threshold has been met, the event starts. Something else to mention about local corruption is it's not just for starting the event. This is gonna be constantly ticking up as the, well, it's gonna be constantly ticking up always and whenever thresholds are met, then the event will expand if it's already run. We tried to progress the event heavily on my server. Nothing triggers. The event location is near Seahook (currently tier 3 node). In the end I don't know if the threshold hasn't been met yet, the trigger is bugged or the progession is disabled atm (becasue the map and UI is giving us no information at all). But it doesn't matter - the harbinger event that was sold to us as THE milestone of Steam early access does not provide content for a majority of the population. And in my post #newcomer-chat message that was only ONE thing I critizied. My point still stands.

Most people complaining is a skill issue. If you’re looking for a PvP mmo with in depth crafting, gathering, etc and a true open world feel. Give it a shot.

Your best bet if this is the case, is to find a good guild. They have alot in house, help, leveling parties, crafters, ect ect. Ashes can be alot more fun for those that like that kind of thing. Highly recommend.

You need to understand that this game is not cheap. At the same price point, there are many better games to choose from. We chose AoC to show our support, and the development team should also take a positive attitude toward improving the game and toward us.

Just because you paid for access to alpha testing doesnt mean you get to be rude and insult them. No one is excusing bugs. There is literally a giant list of them. I understand this one is affecting your progression, you are not the only one.

And yes, this being alpha development actually does in fact mean that bugs are expected, and may take time to fix. They might even show up again, and need to be fixed again.

This is an unfinished Alpha build. It is not a released game. If testing and bug reporting, and testing, and reporting, and more bugs, isnt your thing, then maybe take a break and play some actual finished and released games.
