i've come to the conclusion animal husbandry is dumb AF. i love waisting vast amounts of gold to get beasts of burden no one wants to buy for even a fraction of the cost it was to produce.

You can do whatever you feel like is best, but I've heard that deconstruction kits are your best friend by at least getting some of the materials back from your crafts to keep making more.
Especially if you want to go from Apprentice to JM and beyond.

So I was told since you do more traveling with your main character that should all be gathering and if you're interested in crafting make an alt.
There's just no convenient way to transfer things to your alt unless it's in the same guild/guild bank.

everyone I know running crates does it in a massive group because they've started solo and lost about 5 runs and learned the hard way its a quick way to lose materials

Ran a few solo, been killed once. Caravans are less popular this phase as mules/crates are overtuned or caravans are undertuned... just try grab a group to do some crates or go for it solo, its only alpha anyways losing your stuff is pretty irrelevant right now, good time to have fun and play a lot more of the risk to try get some reward 😉

it's great. im 117 hours in. halfway to 18. PVP is around if you like it. it usually finds you if you run crates though. the early questing was fun. after that its more mob grind/gathering/processing to level. the social aspects have been great. grouping up and guilds are essential for meaningful progress and the politics for the settlements has kept things interesting

Also RED system is too harsh and no one plays RED, and xp debt stat diminishing is very harsh too.

Some more lawless zones on the land like the jungle or desert would be cool to actually make travelling with crates / going to mine high end materials a bit risky, just sucks that people only pvp bait each other or grief or just never fight cause they know no one will ever go red willingly.

Part of alpha testing and development is Intrepid developing and adjusting their tools for these types of things. That is important for helping to ensure the integrity of actual launch. It’s not the first time dupes/hacks/exploits have been found and patched up. The ability to tag each item, and track gold is part of it.

There have been very few “wipes” in all of alpha testing up to date. If they were cautious to avoid it during phases with less testers and way more dupes/cheats/issues, and their detection and repair processing less advanced, then it kinda makes sense they will be more cautious now with more players and better tools but still needing to test them.

Yep also means if you end up with crap loads of common ore/wood/flowers/fish and run out of space you can crate them into crate storage using crafted crates and save them for town buy orders to farm citizen rep later, construction crates for buildings in town, mayor comissions or for making crates for muling. Like you said its huge and wish more new players knew about it, would saved me ALOT of frustration at the start.

Honestly they should add it as part of crafting tutorial. A lot of new player frustration comes from having to micromanage inventory and storage very early on especially if you gathering.

The reason I personally don't think its some big scam is because Steven has his face infront of this business, he's on every monthly update on their twitch. Its his business and he's putting his money where his mouth is. Its not owned by some massive corporation shouting and screaming orders. If you can deal with alpha / open development, queues, crashes, glitches bugs etc ide say go for it. I could be completely wrong, its my risk with my money no ones forced me to buy the game. To be blunt its a bit of an empty grind at its core and the PvP is rather aimless, just people jumping at each other mostly or tricking each other to fight. The classes have good bones though are in need of tweaks, the mechanics are promising but the corruption system is deeply flawed and crafting is tedium given form.

Dad of 3 so it feels good to cast the line and come back with fish and skill gain as well as overall level contribution.

People need to remember if your expecting WoW or FFXIV type of game this is not that. This is a actual sandbox mmo, blended and kin to archeage and Everquest. The reason is slow is on purpose. The point is the adventures you have with others ( why heavy focus in group play / social interaction ) . When endgame finally comes yes there will be raids and the like but too those interactions you made along your journey and what story will you make for you and the server your on.

Not at all, its quite common in fact especially if you're playing solo. You do give up some stats and damage reduction from the active blocking however, you can always switch if you find it doesn't work out for you too since weapon skills are independent of character level

Yes. Storage in towns is tied to citizenship, and each town has their own storage...if you renounce citizenship you get locked out of the storage for that town.
