There is no "workaround" because steam auth through API is required to log in. The steam outage is unfortunate but I'm sure they're working on it.

It's not about whether or not your client is up to date, the Steam's web API is currently unavailable which prevents your launcher from verifying your account linkage. Until Steam resolves their issues / the service is available again you're probably not going to be able to log in.

Where are some good spots for reliable mob grinding as a cleric / warrior duo? I've kind of felt "stuck" on two different characters at level 8-9.

The first character I did a bunch of HoJ, the second character I leveled in the Anvils. I've been struggling with comissions being lower level (6ish) or too high level (12ish). Are we just unlucky with comissions or are we missing something?

I would recommend anywhere your warrior can mass pull and cleave appropriate level (orange) mobs. nonelite if warr/cleric duo. many POIs have tightly packed non-elites near their entrances that offer nice exp when killed in mass, and nice loot if they are humanoid
