its not just steam, its an industry thing. games have been throwing EA around for almost 6+ years as a means to release stuff unfinished and try to get sales, and then they perpetually leave them in EA forever. It is more rare to see a game come OUT of EA nowadays.

This is why the steam situation is highly against AOC and something that once the first wipes will happen will hurt AOC too.

No matter how true you are, no matter how right Steven is about Alpha, the first impression is: The game is out, but my character is wiped. They will quit, then when the game DOES come to 1.0, they will have a negative impression and be too busy playing else because the market is oversaturated. This is why the gaming market is bad atm

Why? because maintenance for some has never worked out historically in any game. Showing good faith to an equal and fair launch, even if its only an alpha, can go a long way for impressions.

i think there are some good things to look forward to, I am excited to try the game too hence me being here. It really looks like it is intended to be an older style mmo before the idea of "raids being hte only main endgame" that took over in the late 2000s.
