- Are node wars online? for ex, winstead is rank 4 now, can another node currently change that via node wars?
- At what level is my character able to help the guild or anyone economically?
- Can i level decently through professions?
- At what level can I do more in the game than just grinding?

you need to have the relevant citizen rep to buy the required certificate to even craft a heroic crate. Get farming commissions ( not for construction crates tho )
also hand in each commish 1 at a time to ensure you get the rep each time.

the majority of players are not sweatlords and don't care much for the heavy PvP side of things, they know they can't compete with people foaming at the mouth to cast wars and sieges all day everyday and that just makes it not interesting to participate in

Thing is, people used to care, purely because of the fact that bis gear was only obtainable from named mobs in mostly lawless zones where you're forced to fight. Crafting wasn't an option last phase. It has gotten a lot easier now, and crafting will be the primary way of getting gear with t4 nodes. They tried adding dynamic lawless zones to combat that, which was the biggest flop yet.
P3 has incentivized griefing way more, cause people cant find pvp anywhere else. This is the reason why "sweatlords" just decide to break the game by griefing low level players for gold, instead of farming bis gear in tropics or jundark after reaching lvl 25 like they used to.
Overall if you want to progress in the game now, it is easier to just level all gathering skills and acquire valuable mats, than farm mobs for gear. Only issue is the absurdly high processing cost when crafting gear

imo it is quite easy to solve this, just have it so that the gear power and time it takes to get it is made like this: you can get to around 80% of the maximum possible power in about 50-100 hours of playing, and after that getting more power should take longer and harder to get and by the time you reach around 95% it will take a very long time to get those small 0.5%-1% upgrades. this stops casuals jsut straight up quitting the game because of gear gap and makes the hardcore players have stuff to grind for. guild wars 2 did this very well in my opinion

This discussion has been going on since P1. As long as Intrepid is not open about who got what punishment most we have is assumptions, as players we see some stuff like bugged world bosses, guess that's why they disabled them. But solid proof about mass exploiting has to come from Intrepid and as long as there is no wall of shame which i would totally vote for, we have no clue who and what got punished for chest abusing for example.
Lets fase it, this Phase POLAR was just one of those guys at a traffic light racing people around them that did not even realize it was a race and just floored it. Now everyone else is just gonna have to catch up at the next red light at some point while maintaining the speed limit.

Thanks for confirming. There is a separate issue between Miraleth and Joeva being perma at war with no end to the war timer. Guards are killing their own citizens aswell

You do this after giving Srixun a hard time for trolling the last siege, only to basically let Polar have a free win with yesterday's?

Most of the anvils content is locked to node progression. Google ashes of creation under realm, most of our commission quest, dungeons and other content is locked to node progression, this is killing the anvils and making people drop game.
I get it’s an alpha but this is an important piece of content and nobody gets to test it except the Zerg guilds. Pretty demoralizing.

When the same guild leaders who have duped and exploited every single phase continue to play the game, and when Steven even freely associates himself with them, what message do you think that sends?
It wasn’t a threat. It was the truth. Ashes is a niche MMO that will not draw in thousands of solo players the same way WoW and FFXIV do. He wants this to be a relatively hardcore game, but he is doing everything he can to drive off those hardcore guilds.
This is realistically the last phase/wipe he has to get this under control before everyone dips.
And no doubt I’m sure the solo pve players will fill in the void of content for Polar, lol.

best way to deal with an organization you dont like in an mmo, is to absolutely ignore them outside and in the game in public channels, all it does is feed them, and in game let your actions speak for themselves, at least thats how we do it in our guild

actually this is not completely true, winning the siege does not give you ownership, it destroys the settlement so the vassalling stops and now yours can grow to a higher lvl. plus you can loot the artifacts and settlement warehouse for items.
Theres 4 types of mayorship planned for the different settlement types, Martial being a PvP fight yes, but none of the others are.

The system for sure needs a rework. As someone who doesn't craft that could actually fight back there is no incentive for me to be a citizen. I don't care about storage and I'm not paying taxes for something that doesn't give me anything.

The point is having people contribute something to their home node “paying taxes” if they never plan on helping defend the node. This also makes it so people can’t just use the higher tier stations without contributing somewhere. But then again now since I think about it homes kind of do this already.

What if nodes had their own Colosseums where citizens could take on captured monsters? Each node level could unlock a new bracket, and within each bracket you’d need, say, 10 monsters—each one getting progressively tougher. On top of that, we could have PvP arenas just for node citizens, maybe 1v1 tournament-style matches where people can spectate and even place bets. Just spitballing some ideas, lol.
