profit? there isnt a clear path to break even.
The some ways are classified, but they aren’t good money makers at all, and still a risk
Separate complaint but - if I'm supposed to be working with other people to build my tools/bags/clothes etc, why can't I see their recipe so I know what mats to provide? I have to look at a third party website to find the recipe to buy the mats to have it then be crafted
So much could be made easier if bags/tools/shirts were base recipes that were always available and visbile
ya Im not sure youd even be able to sell heroics for a baseline prices .... think only epic and leggo ones will sell
Skills needed:
- Apprentice Lumberjacking for Oak and weeping willow
- Apprentice Mining for the basalt and Slate
- Novice herbalism for the snowdrop
- Novice weaving for the snowdrop thread
- Novice Metalworking for the basalt sand
- Apprentice Lumbermilling for the Weepeing Willow boards
- Apprentice Stoneworking for the clay, mortar, slate block and then FINALLY the weapon mold
It also takes 8!!! Count it 8!! different vendor basic ingredients .. some with very real costs!!
COMPLETE INCOMPETENCE to think this is a viable system
AND to add insult to injury.. the example above IS AN INGREDIENT!!!
It's not even a completed craft!!
AND it's just one step above introductory novice level... God help us when we get to tiers 4 and 5.. Did they even consider scaling of the system? Or, are they using this to mimic the tier 5 crafting? Comms intrepid.. give us comms
I'll pile on... I certainly don't want to come across as a doomer. I fully plan to push forward no matter how "bad" the system is. Happy to take it on the chin to help development into beta... but this current system is quite literally the worst crafting experience of any game I have ever played. Even worse than Nightingale which the crafting results were actually different than what the UI said. Worse than phases 1, 2, or even 2.5. The regression is impressive.
What I actually want is real open and honest "open development." I want someone from Intrepid to actually engage with us, the reasonable professions loving people. What's the logic behind the reagent expense? What's the logic behind a potion healing for 500 health, costing 50s to craft, when we have 5,000 health... making said craft worthless. Consumes should be mandatory for both pve and pvp content... Why are they so weak or at least not worth the time or effort to craft? Why is all gear not worth the time or effort to craft? The system feels terrible to engage with... help us understand what we are missing.
boy did I make a post for this https://discord.com/channels/256164085366915072/1415150180386209903
Just my 2 cents, I think the crafting system is good as far as having more recipes and what intrepid wants to do with it. I know we out level the professions right now with so many people 20+ but I remember intrepid saying the leveling would take alot longer than it does now. I think the professions would be more relative to level if they introduced what leveling would actually be like at release. As of now our leveling experience is increased dramatically for the sake of alpha
It's more that current crafting isn't really a main game loop you can do, gathering is but crafting isn't because of the material and gold cost.
i know i will have many clown emojis under this message but material and gold cost is fine, and all my high end crafter friends think so too.
For a first time we have no real inflation.
And crates are so good money that basicly covered my costs to lvl two artisans to lvl 20.
I will sound too cocky but i think this is skill issue, if u cant sustain in p3 economy and cant level desired artisans to 20
Sorry you said clown emojis and I said yes 👀
i was prepared for that xD
theres no gold inflation for now it will still happen down the line just is going to take longer.
crate system is something I haven't figured out yet, is there a forum somewhere I can read to educate myself? The in game setup doesn't seem to really teach me on how to load it and use it
Writing up a guide rn.
This guy is a legend
great
And people who just rushed leveles are dropping better gear then you can craft at this moment.
Guy is asking to be bored with the phase 3 launch if he wants things handed to him.
That's assuming the benches will be available... if settlement destruction is a thing, both WS and Joeva would be ashes and no benches
Handed to him like a level 29 gear drop fully crafted item in Carph??
with a drop rate of 2-15 for named items you get lucky
Still free and less time involved by a HUGE margin
Matter of fact YOU GET PAID to get that drop in glint
I enjoy playing in smaller group or guild and sometimes as a solo. I think the system is very unfair for smaller audience imo and very expensive for a solo player. And i can understand if the system was like that at lvl 50 but we are talking about level 1-19 gear xD its awful. There is no point in crafting items and farming them when you can go and get them from mobs....
I have been working on getting my Carpentry up to lvl 10 for the last week and cost about 5gold was fun to do. As guild of 7 and usually a solo player myself
I 100% that the cost of crafting is not an issue. I actually like expensive crafting as it creates exclusivity to those who are willing to put in the work. For me, the bigger issue is 1) the lack of macro gold income and 2) the lack of valuable crafts. You state there is no inflation and I would agree... there is negative inflation also called deflation... and any macro economist will agree that deflation is bad for an economy. It disincentives consumption which is the lifeblood of an economy. Granted, if the node system actually worked, we would have more crate routes driving up player income... but until that is fixed we have deflation and that is bad. For 2), it's just a balance thing... I'm fine with things being expensive, but the juice needs to be worth the squeeze. Health potion should heal thousands, not hundreds... food/scrolls should give enough stats that actually worth the expense/effort. Same goes for all other disciplines. Make the juice worth the squeeze.
Honestly... repair kits can help get coin exchange flowing... AND it would keep permanent items out of the market
I plan on making such a big post on this later in the year once I’ve got a good feel of the system. Maybe I should do a huge google form to try collect some data 🤔🤔
Imagine running the numbers, looking at existing player data from P2, and going "Yes, this is what the game needs, no mob drops, and the game economy driven by crafting hidden behind a massive grind wall"
We need no mob drops and cheaper crafts
"Make the juice worth the squeeze." This is what expensive means for most people imo and very well said. To much paying ,to much gold invested in something you can get way cheaper from mobs / marketplace and not worth crafting because its not high in (value) and that is called price ratio
imagine thinking that we need mob drops
Mob drops of gear are stupid
The only compromise I’m willing to accept is “Uncommon and below drops only. Drops can NEVER go above node level in terms of novice, adept and radiant”
give me a working economy, and I wont care about mob drops. What we have now is a tedium simulator
You will never have a working eco with mob drops
make the mob drops crafting material
I don't have a particular beef with the idea of the system. But here is the example that really blurred my vision...
1 Novice Scroll of Adventuring Experience (Scribing)
1 Crude Paper (reagent)
10 Red Ink
- 10 Water (reagent)
- 10 Ruby Powder
- 10 Glowroot Grind (reagent)
- 10 Rough Ruby
1 Linen Thread - 1 Drawtwine Wax (reagent)
- 1 Flax
1 Magic Powder - 2 Essence Crystal (reagent)
- 1 Snowdrop Powder
- 1 Glowroot Grind (reagent)
- 1 Snowdrop
- 1 Daffodil Powder
- 1 Glowroot Grind (reagent)
- 1 Daffodil
So adding it up, we have 26 reagents (at 33cp each), 25 combines (all with some cost), with only 13 raw materials actually used. It feels a bit bloated, but okay. Don't even start me on paying a vendor for water!
Then there's the time. 24 combines that each take 30 seconds (I think). So that's 12 minutes for a single scroll. Okay...it's crafting. And I can walk away so no real problem.
But here's the thing. All that for one novice scroll that has limited value. And honestly, the 3-minute scrolls that drop from quest completions are fine for crafting and processing needs, and adventuring is good for quest turn-ins, so there isn't a lot of demand at lower levels. Then you need to make hundreds to level to Apprentice. It's doable. And I appreciate that it will gate the masses from all leveling it up...but it doesn't feel immersive. It feels forced. Not sure I have a better answer, but this is where we are at now. Scribing is going to be a slog.
Down for this too!
That is a moot point. They could leave low quality common drops in the game, but make gathering / crafting actually fun to engage with. People would get their neurons fire picking up some battered common gear from mobs, maybe deconstruct it for another source of recipes. I would love to spend time, gold and mats on crafted gear, but what we have atm isnt a game.
We need a artisan xp tree
Getting and spending skill points to speck into the specific crafting uou wanna do would be great
The thing is mob drops is fine HOWEVER, it should be way lower chance to get the item AND adept /radiant should not be dropped until settlements lvl 4-5 unlocks. We dont want any group to be "forced" to choose a way. There should be different ways. however crafters is way far behind.... by far IF you are not in a big guild. with zero effort inside and these people tell you "im fine with the system being hard and not easy to reach top, and beeing "expensive" but at the same time these people gets the Gear / mount for almost zero effort. its laughable
I assume that gearing will have a close review. Its pretty far off the mark.
It works for now because we can test most other content. A lot of tuning has to be done.
Its known/suspect" that Intrepid takes huge feedback from zerg guilds or in general weird guilds with maybe a youtuber/streamer that will probably change game 1 month after full release anyway.
No there should be a way, you should not be able to get the best gear grinding. The second you make mob grinding a viable start crafting is useless.
Time to make a huge artisans guild anyone? 😉
No there should not be a forced way. let that sink in really. Because we dont want anyone to be forced to choose the artisan way only real crafter should do that. Or force everyone to grind mobs... There must be balance. You cant think for yourself only, think outside the box or else the game will die. Should be different ways maybe even from questing or PVP. but not 1 way.. different
imo it should drop only common rarity equips, want better - ask crafters, this will keep your equips somewhat viable, but only at basic level
The crafting system is fine. The mob loot drops are fine. The crafters all want crafters to make the best shit…they currently do. The crafting gear vs dropped gear isn’t a parallel timeline. It is progressive. At first crafted gear gets you on the path. Then dropped gear gets you to baseline. Then crafted gear becomes the best items.
Just wait for questline gear to be implemented. Should quests not give gear? Should every player be forced to obtain their items from crafters? That’s not a fun gameplay loop.
It would be more compelling if crafters had the ability to somewhat customize stats on gear. Not a lot, but shift a few points from one to another by use of different or additional components. That would allow them to differentiate from dropped gear, fill custom requests, and serve a clear purpose in the game economy.
What game are you playing where crafters make the best gear? Crafters LITERALLY CANNOT MAKW RADIANT GEAR?! That is dropping on mass? wtf are you talking about?
I'm familiar with all of those processes. I have experience in both Envious and Polar and filled out forms.
In both of those guilds, we did specific testing on certain game mechanics and parts and provided detailed feedback. Many many game hours were dedicated to that feedback that typically took away from our day to day desires.
problem with it is that people are getting JM gear from drops super early and most crafters cant get any gold for leveling their craft )
other than that u r right
LOOT DROPS ARE FINE HUH?!?!?!
NOT FROM A WORLD BOSS BTW.........
on what fucking planet is this ok? Not only can we not even craft this shit yet but it would take (ALL BEING RARE BTW)
50 books final touches
15 carphin emblem
4 dried weeping willow board - 3 weeping willow 1 weeping willow board - 2 weeping willow 1 weeping willow timber (24 willow total)
100 dried oak board - 3 oak wood 1 oak board - 2 oak wood 1 oak timber (600 oak total)
1 lumadon powder
that dosent include the reagents
WTF
That’s like…3 hours of farming.
WHAT FUCKING PLANET ARE YOU ON WHERE 600 RARE OAK IS A FEW HOURS OF FARMING?
Bro what drugs are you on? share them please
Talk in bigger caps I can’t see
this will cost 10s of gold
I farmed the mats to craft a heroic radiant bow in 8 hours.
in reagents alone not even thinking crafting costs
ill give you a heads up, you are arguing to one of the biggest rage baiters when comes to these things.
you misspelled idiot
This guy is crashing out because a rare book drops in a dungeon…
That book will be obsolete for most players in like…a week
First change they need to do is simply reduce the cost of the vendor mats and combines by like 80%
amount of mats required for craft looks like made for endgame, it would make sense for 50lvl, but not for 10-20
2-3g for a level 10 intro item is just stupid.
don’t reply on him he is weird guy. and also he is lying or using static tree known location. he is supporting something weak and alot of people is with him but in the end we will get it right because its fucking logic.
fair, cheaters having opinions on balance is wild xD
That’s a wild take considering I’ve never interacted with a single one of you.
I spent 8 hours target farming ash wood and daffodils just to get the mats to craft a heroic radiant bow.
It just takes time and knowledge of where to look. You are all getting very upset and having horrible takes on a system that isn’t even fully operational yet.
Are you on EU btw? Because if so…I’m sorry. NA server has multiple JM stations available and has been crafting Legendary Items since yesterday.
ofc they have because they are all using static known location it’s not a secret. The problem here is the intro weapon we where talking about that costs 2-3g like stove mentioned. it’s stupid system it’s very awful and take the consideration the cost to reach JM as a smaller or solo player it’s ridicules and it’s far easier to just go grind it from mobs etc. yet you still support weak group. but also i’m very happy that we are different it shows who the sheep’s are the people that can’t think for themselves
You can’t talk of balance as a solo player. The game is intended to be played as a community or group. PvP and pve is balanced based on 8 players. Just as crafting at higher levels should be a group project.
You need 5 professions to craft a single radiant weapon. One player can’t be expected to do it all alone.
And you all have the exact same access to the game that I do so saying in “exploiting” is completely baseless.
how long did it take you to farm the gold to process all of it to make the radiant bow
and here i thought static rarity was removed?
also, @rocky rivet, have you compared the stats of the heroic radiant bow you’re crafting to the blue that drops from that boss?
Static rarity was “removed”. The same trees can spawn at different rarities. Not always guaranteed the same rarity but usually higher than common.
I’m sure that will change you can mark my words. because i don’t buy that and i tell you why. People in zerg guilds or in general big guild they are doing zero effort on everything. They ultra boost few people in artisan skills and they pump out gear/mount etc just like money they printing without any effort and YET they say “i like that the crafting system is expensive and not so easy to reach the top and should take time, its like an investment in the long run”
it’s fucking bullshit.
Took me about 6ish gold for all the processing so about 3-4 hours of mob farming to get the gold
u prolly mean trees that spawn "outside" of their biome right?
No, all ash was harvested in Riverlands
This is the bow
Mine will be on the higher end as I have some epic materials mixed in.
Its also ilvl 23, not 29 like the Carphin book
Okay, so 12 hours total. For what it’s worth, I think you got very very very lucky in order to get:
240 heroic Ash
66 heroic Oak
66 heroic Daffodil
in 8 hours. That’s a very good rate.
But in return for that, you’re getting a bow that is about 15% worse than the dropped blue Longsight Bow. Does that seem reasonable to you?
Currently, there is no spellbow version of longsight bow that i have seen
But yes it does, as Longsight bow is another ilvl 29 item
You can mix and match the materials and Lego t1 mats are cheap as fk atm
I could hold out and farm for a better bow but this bow will be just fine for the time being as I farm up higher rarity materials for my next craft
12 hours of time vs. 1 boss drop and the boss drop is way better seems like a wild thing to defend
Boss drop is a 2% drop rate
And you have to compete for it
And you cannot do it solo
i dont know if you have game knowledge but i ask you this. At what cost? what did you get from that? when you really can get it from mobs in dungeons and better for almost free on top of that you missed out alot of xp meanwhile you chopping trees and far behind also you are lying very bad because you can’t get that much of quality wood in that time. Stop lying really. and also stop defending this corrupt system.
yeah I’m oversimplifying by a ton, it’s true
I know but you have areas that lack ash spawns. and ash that spawns there usually has higher ratity
I feel pretty satisfied with what I got from solo farming an item that I want. Im already max level, I have a decent base gear set, now im just using my time to farm materials for the items I really want.
100% 2 BLUE 29 ilvl items.
Ive invested alot of hours into gathering, crafting, and gear farming in this Alpha
Yea I fogot about Carphin event, that is unfortunate
But I prefer bow over book so
Generally yes
Now, I understand that I have more time to play than alot of people so I can sacrifice my solo time to grind out mats and exp more efficiently than most
But if I had a 3-4 man team out gathering materials we could be just as efficient as mob grinding for gear
The crafting doesnt feel amazing right now, but when all the stations are up and people arent hyper-fixated on levling and catching up and the server reaches some sort of parity...I think the system will show to be completely reasonable
I can 100% agree that the vendor bought mats are a bit excessive in price and quantity for sure
But my guild has JM carpentry/tailoring/weaponsmithing(almost)/arcane engineering professions ready to go for when the stations come up
Maybe they’re fine once inflation goes brrr for a few months but not early game
So we will be able to craft a better book as soon as the station is build
Well, you spent 6 gold plus somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 gold worth of mats to get an item that is worse than the blue carphin event weapons that will probably be being sold pretty soon, so we’ll see how that plays out
I hate how professions are currently leveled.
True, but i will have that satisfaction of a job well done. I find that gameplay loop entertaining so I dont see it the same way I guess
spamming 1 novice item from 1-50 i just so wrong imo
^^^ I can agree with that
I hope it will be addressed in the future but time will tell
Balancing crafting with mob drops is quite a bit more difficult than alot of people understand
It’s not. Shoukd really be any gear drops for mobs
It is hard... and everyone has different opinions on how it should be.
I for one think only common and maybe uncommon should be dropping. Reduced costs for processing and slightly reduced mats required for higher tier crafts... but I am 100% certain there are loads of problems with that aswell and alot of people would hate it ^^
@rocky rivet i hope i made you change your mind about the artisan skill crafting. Spread the word now
Not really, but..its completely okay to have differing opinions, I just dont like being labeled as a cheater
it’s good and healthy to have different opinion but it’s different when we have a intro gear that cost so much to craft it’s out of my mind. If it’s lvl 40-50 than no problem but farming for 8 hours ( knowing static spawn) which will be changed soon. not only that but also try to make some gold from other ways to be able to continue the process until reaching that point to craft that intro weapon is crazy. really i will always say this. level 1-19 should be very very easy to make its 2-3 days work. i took lvl 25 in a week or so and it was not that grindy it’s fine. imagine now master and grand master how much that will cost. over 5-20k legendary materials it’s stupid
2-3 days for average person or a new player
should be 2-3 hours for average person
26 and 29 ilvl not craftable with JM benches?
They are craftable, but the ilvl 26/29 require higher tier materials and more t1 materials
Thats why im crafting this bow now, so I can focus efforts on those next
u sure they appear on bench?
i mean if they lock 26 and 29 ilvl behind master and GM like they locked Forsaken between JM bench
that woudl be awful
I will say I dont think the crafting process is perfect, but it is not nearly as bad as alot of the doomer takes ive seen this week
In phase 2...people already had full legendary BiS items 3 weeks in
From crafting
So...balance takes time, this isnt the final itteration of crafting
tbf the problem in p2 was static rarity with fixed spawn timers
lol... you do know static rarity is currently in the game, right?
I thought it was removed and the spawns i tested didn't respawn with same rarity
I mean i created a feedback thread when I noticed that it was still in ^^
artisan peopel how much classes i can be aprentice, journey, master, grandm, etc ?
But i was also quiet busy irl since the start of phase so my testing is quiet limited.. but when they said they remove it a week or two ago I tested it with a few spawns and got different rarity
well i havent gathering i and i ddidnt feel that was a problem since i was buying mats from market and there were plenty.
I mean if you are that kind of guy who envy everyone for anyting, maybe this is a problem.
For sure there will be more fun crafting loop if we wont have static rarity or cluster system and everything will be like hunting (Heroic once a week)
Imagine scale of ilvl 29 blue/green Drops problem if we will be gutted from plenty of high rarity gathering drops
It was fixed in 2.5, but somehow made it into this p3 build and has been such since launch lol. I'm not a gatherer... I hate gathering, but know of plenty of people who make maps, plot the static nodes, and hit them on respawn.
if it truly is still in the game this phase is pretty much cooked already 😄
I DO NOT gather and i support static rarity/cluster system
I did that in p2 aswell. When I noticed it was back in p3 and reported it. they then said it was removed a week of two ago
Its not as bad as hit tree, log out for 4 hours, hit tree again
care to enlighten me how it currently works?
But high rarity trees do spawn in the same spot, on variable timers, and slightly variable rarities
So if you target farm an area where rare trees are found, and rotate those areas
there is no satic rarity atm as it was in p2. It has been changed with cluster system which works a bit different
You can farm higher rarity with regularity
Artisan people how much classes i can be in aprentice, journey, master, grandm, etc ?
5 apprentice, 4 JM, 3 master, 2 GM
in all of them or for category craft gathering processing ?
2 GM, 1 master, 1 JM, 1 apprentice... I guess that is a better way lol
all categories
you can use https://ashescodex.com/artisan/profession-planner to play around a bit
Plan your grandmaster, master and other professions in Ashes of Creation.
thank you
no problem 🙂
that website is pretty helpful in general
so basicaly been a grandmaster already count as 1master 1journey,etc ? Damm..
Can get 4 skills to jm, 1 to apprentice
yaa but if am a GM it already take 1skil from master and jn and so on
For the alpha that’s all u really need
They could honestly fix the reagent stuff by allowing gathering to collect by-product reagents or processing to produce by product reagents like wood processing does now with woodchips. Then all reagents are player produced/gathered without vendor NPC interaction.
BTW for all interested, Steven just posted in General that they are removing the gear dropped from Carphin event, so
Glad I "wasted" my time gathering for bow 🙂
i am glad i was lelveling crafting instead of trying to compete with those carphin abusers
W from Steven for sure
Omg they went t1000 mode and got rid of the gold earned from transactions of those items as well
JM crafting will be at least valuable now that the Carphin farm got blown up.
Most weapons are actually far easier to craft then originally thought
well lvl 29 is a bit rough but def possible
gz man, this is probably one of the strongest weps in the whole game currently
Did they fix the recipes?... that's what I'm wondering
some of them yea
Also ... why can't a lumberjack make his own axe? When 1 skill is locked behind another skills building and skill level it sucks
It’s funny cos Steven said many many times that gatherers will be able to make their own tools
So much for that
it forces interaction between the players which is good, but it's true that some profesions are way more useful early game than others
More disappointment and unnecessary changes going the wrong direction because he obviously hates crafters
It's unnecessary gatekeeping
You already have to interact a metric shit ton to craft a single slate weapon mold
Which is a freakin ingredient... not even an item
It's not like crafters don't have enough hurdles to jump
well i think jewelery being useless for months it's a bigger problem than needing to request someone or a group of people in a guild for a tool
and some people powerlvling to like lvl 20 and just farming hunting and animal husbandry and making tons of gold XD
The refining fees are completely fucked too lmao
Zinc ingot with refining + reagents needed, costs 43 SILVER to make 1
Copper ingots with refining + reagents needed costs 2.8 silver
They are both tier 1 ingots what tf is that ginormous difference
yeah the fees are crazy and the basic materials too, which i wouldn't mind if what comes out of it is meaningful, but if costs don't differ depending on rarity of materials used there's no point in doing anything below legendary aswell, also people be lvl 25+ with full superior gear so anything you craft is worthless for the most part, which makes some of the crafts waay more valuable than others in some sense, defining a very specific early game meta
i'm new to the game, started in early september so i'm a huge noob but my disappointment to spend almost 1 gold to craft a white apprentice neck that is sold in the market for 10 to 20 silver XD
yeah but maybe at journeyman crafting cuz ppl be lvl 25 droping superior lvl 20+ gear 3 days in or what XD
It’s abit like that man
I got lvl 20 weapon smithing and 95% of things are so expensive to craft I wouldn’t even make money selling them
specially if you can just go farm mobs and drop them, but again if the leveling progress is way faster, those items will be useless real quick even at higher rarity
but idk much about the game so maybe lvl 30 + has no higher tier of gear and only crafting will provide that? im clueless XD
explain this, why months? Because of the amount of gold needed needed to get Journeyman?
Disclaimer not attacking just gathering insight (most people get mad when challenged)
it was a way of saying, but clearly there's tons of crafts with more immediate value in early game stages than others. this creates a clear meta. The gold you get at lvl 1 to 15 or 20 would be better invested in any other profession or skip crafting at all till you get to later stages of the game with mob grinding alone.
for example, you can't gather apprentice mats without apprentice tools, which can only be aquired by a specific set of professions at apprentice level, which makes it already a way more useful profession than jewelery at apprentice level, when people will be lvl 20+ in 3 days already selling the same jewelery in the market that u would be crafting 1 week in
if the recipes worked in the 1st place (emerald jewelery not craftable), was a shock to find that out after sinking all my gold instead of just mob grinding, and even if it was craftable, would only be worth at high high rarity craft, which doesn't seem doable very easily. I also said i'm a huge noob who started playing like a week ago, so, i don't know if post lvl 30 people will get higher grade loot making emerald accessories look pathetic even at higher rarity
right ya thats very true im a jeweler myself and ya all my grinding is basically aimed at end game to try to possibly create heroic+ Steelbloom jewelry to finally make real money in the market. So i agree with what your saying
problem with steelbloom jewelery and other high end jeweleries are emblems btw
yeah i don't have the information to do judgements about late game jewelery but it's just not an early game worth investment xd
steelbloom would be journeyman?
also is max lvl capped at 30 rn?
for character level i mean
patch is up
that patch is in favor of artisans
My carpenter recipes are still missing on the crafting bench
what kind of bullshit is this they fixed no tailoring recipes
Yeah no recipes were fixed fake news patch notes 🙁
does anyone know when artisan skills will start to receive polish? I certainly am not a fan of every artisan skill being confined within a HUD
I’m lvl 20 weapon smithing, cost me about 40 gold
Now that kal torhum is level 3. Does anyone know if there are any artisan trainers there or does it have to be even higher level? My lumberjacking and fishing is stuck at level 10.
I did ask in and out of game what player level people were that were talking about the difficulties in crafting higher tier apprentice recipes and quite a few have said under 10 which might contribute to the difficulty with funds/storage.
Silly question - I made an Anvils toon and I am trying to craft cloth set, but I cannot find where to buy the Emberwake starter recipes here - all I see on the vendor is the Academic set which is Riverlands?
I'm going to check the Kal Torhum vendor at bench in a second, I only had legs, feet and chest available to craft at Bonfire without purchasing any recipes wasn't sure if there were actually any other emberwake items
Yeah, I was able to craft those 3
And wanted to craft the rest
but I dont see em hehe
But from which level on are you supposed to invest time into crafting? It feels like to me crafting is too expensive to actually be able viable from the start, more like starting from lvl 12-15 you can have enough funds to actually get into crafting without feeling this huge dent in your funds.
Also I havent found any mobs that drtop any recipes yet in Anvils
Novice is level 1-10 items, Apprentice level 10-20 it seems likely those areas of level ranges might be able to gather the money involved some people have defnitely inflated their processing costs and then only cite the Highest Tier of an item's recipes when posting about it. I donno I made 6 gold now by level 12.5 and I'm barely playing if someone were to focus on it and use the market to sell mats they can find a demand for you can make more than enough to craft items. I think it should be a money sink to level up a trade and it seems to be, plenty of people have posted they were able to level up to Journeyman with support of other players some and some of them solo.
I've gotten Anvils-specific recipe drops from humanoids near to level 8+
hmm, I am gonna try, did you make it to Kal Tor?
are we locked to only 5 apprentice certificates and if so why when i upgrade to journey does an apprentice slot not open up.
I see the apprentice crafts generic P menu tailoring in the station I don't see any tailoring recipe vendors
yeah I was able to only craft the 3 pieces we have access to
it almost like the coders separated areas but copy paster vendors from Riverlands
so we dont even get the recipes that we shoudl be getting here in anvils to craft
kind of sad
because we can't craft the Ambicious set here, these are not the right crafting stations and we also cant get grems here anyway at the initial level
Yeah you'd need to be in Riverlands to make the Academic set, I wonder if the Fashion Specialist at Avon's End has the Emberwake items?
I dont think so
it woudl be silly if he did - since we can't craft it at the riverlands tables hehe
Ive started playing 2 days after the phase started with my friends, and the cost of getting cloth novice gear was immense. Buying the recipes, getting all the mats and the absurd cost of the processing vendor items made it clear to me. I think i spent around idk maybe just 1 gold on all of it together. But when your income per day is about 10 silver that does hurt a lot imo.
The system felt very unrewarding to say the least. (Also we had such dogshit drop luck that we didnt even know you can drop equip until we were lvl 10)
yeah, I kept my basic gear and then set a by level 10 goal to gather enough mats to make armor and a Novice spellbook to upgrade past musty gear and got there. I feel like I'll do the same at level 10 gear up my crafting to App and then make a list of mats I want to get and make a common set of App gear first just to up my effectiveness in combat then stockpile rarer mats to make the better versions by level 20. I don't level fast so it'll be some time I'm sure.
Same. Not much time to play per day.
I do not mind the idea of stockpiling rare materials for higher level crafts.
But what i do mind is the idea that i need 4 stacks of one material to craft one piece of equipment, but the time i reach journeyman and want to do a journeyman craft, am i supposed to reserve one storage slot for one piece of equipment?
oop went afk, there's some confusion as to the general number of mats needed for most of one tier ie Radiant level 20-23 gear has a need for 83 cloth yardage and then the highest tier of Radiant (level 20+ gear) takes up to three times as many of the primary material.
This seems to be the same in Apprentice so that you can easily make the lowest tier of that level range of item and then the highest tier (level 29 items in Radiant) can take up to three times the primary mat and drops like emblems from bosses or group content POIs. I guess it makes sense that they would have items craftable equal to the dropped items but I'm used to games where you can get drops but the best stats would only be on crafted items.
I think a trade off would be that you'd likely get a lower rarity of the drop from looting the boss/POI than you would be getting if you provided a stack of higher rarity mats to make the item instead don't think with us only being 2 weeks~ into the new crafting phase and not having had any crafting stations available because of the settlement exp gain bug we can have a clear picture of how well the crafting system functions in the economy.
Are construction crates just in things like Bonfire Trade Outpost and Avon's End or wherever the riverlands has them?
Does Shol already have JM tools? What wood do they require?
Agriculture Supply West side of Lions is where I have run them from.
Also Hammers across the road from commission board.
Indeed. Imagine mining 1896 Zinc, and getting around 30 otter carcasses ( in the correct rarity) for the Rosarium set . You will be quite busy:
I'd read about their intention for the rarity tiers and their difficulty to craft in their blog posts and the streams talk about it as well.
I do not mind it to be hard to craft a blue item.. But this is for a white item as well
1896 zinc is not easily obtainable
Although it is doable...
But then the amount of glint/gold you will need to craft it.. phew
that looks like 8 items there
yes. I put down the set as most would probably try and craft a set
but you would need a set for every guild member. and you cannot assume all of them gather these amounts easily
Ah and Rosarium that's POI items that have special recipes no?
yeah
It is doable and with a guild the Effort to make good rarity gear becomes a nice team effort buut yea as someone going solo it would be a huge time sink when connecting it to using market to get higher rarity mats it could alternatively be a huge money sink
It is tem level 26. so it is a decent item to be sure. it is still a bit crazy
Are there non-special bonus sets that also have the same requirements of that tier? I looked them up for weapons and takes half or a third it makes sense that you would need more expensive recipes for rarer sets to me
The requirements are overdone
as there will be level 30 gear, 40 gear, 50 gear too
Having even 1/3 of the resource requirements would have been almost too much, or at the least closer to obtainable for somewhat active players(2-5 hours per day)
I mean, the complexicty of the crafting system is fun to some degree. But these resource requirements are ridicilous.
Higher tier takes higher items so I imagine it'll be 75 of some ingot again repeated at a higher level range not 1455 for a lowest tier of 30-40 or 40-50 like some are claiming it would have to scale.
You're citing special POI sets and others have cited special loot drop from POIs or other places' weapons. There are equivalent and lower tiers - tiers mentioned in their documentation and discussions - as requiring more effort/materials as you craft the higher tiers.
I do hear you. I just dissagree. There has got to be some limits on resource requirements, othrewise you will have a hard time having enough players to make this game even remotely profitable.
I know Steven goes out saying this will be a niche game, but making it only for the extremely hardcore seems like a bad move if you want some sort of return of investment
Looking at some of the journeyman recipes, some might not even be possible without higher tier bags becoming widely available. Especially the common one like Sanctus or Stockade.
quite probable. Even if you process everything, there are limits at how much an inventory can hold.. xD
the items are craftable from storage
how exactly, havent seen that
It did last phase, not sure if that's currently working that way though we just got crafting in Anvils
Have intrepid / Steven spoke on the material requirement / costs of processing yet?
he said he's working with econ closely this week, not sure if he mentioned that specifically
They needs to hire someone that knows how to balance in-game economies urgently. Lost all faith in current efforts.
I compared the vendor material + processing costs for random common longbows.
It's different across weapons, but it might be a good indication on what they are going for.
Grade 1, Tier 1: ~10s
Grade 1, Tier 2: ~25s
Grade 1, Tier 3: ~70s
Grade 2, Tier 1: ~80s
Grade 2, Tier 2: ~1g 85s
Grade 2, Tier 3: ~3g 65s
Grade 3, Tier 1: ~2g 50s
Grade 3, Tier 2: ~5g 20s
Grade 3, Tier 3: ~10g 20s
My next weapon is 33 boards and some daffodil powder, I better mobilize 186 of my closest freinds to get those incredibly difficult to manage materials.
From everything I'm seeing in complaints people want it flat costs and nearly equal cost for level 10 and level 19 special items
i'm all for it being lowered a bit, especially for Grade 1 stuff, but that'd be crazy IMO.
btw if anyone wants to check processing + vendor fees for themselves, this site has a detailed summary for each item (better than Ashes Codex):
https://www.ashesforge.com/items/6064633867188306164
the site is very slow though, so the only way it's usable is searching the specific item's name you want to check on the top right.
listing items and abilities ~~sometimes ~~ usually takes minutes
Why when crafting clay with all epic mats final result heroic clay? It’s a bug?
Commodity item?
If it is, the crafting calculators show that you need an Epic certificate as well to reach Epic
Oh thx u
let me know pls
currently in the process of gathering 102 wolf carcasses for 1 pair of boots xD only need 700 carcasses for the full set :i
Are there no artisan trainers in Anvils to raise certificates?
Asking advice for focus on Farming and Cooking professons. Would Fishing, Hunting and herbalism be the best harvesting to level up? Anyone have any experience to guide me on this?
When crafting something and it says 'Requires: desert' or any of the other regions. does it need to be made in a desert node that has that level of building ?
IE needs JM building to make a radiant craft
I believe that's the gist of it but not properly implemented atm
has anyone successfully tried to make something that requires a different area but in not that area ?
No
Sad he’s shutting it down 🙁
yeah
just saw it
he was so much ahead of the competition with a few features
Yep
hey, anyone tested mining speed lumber speed is working or no ? it doesnt work according to my tests
I am once again asking Intrepid to remove reagant requirement for Novice/Initiate crafting and gear
Do encampments have gathering commission boards?
is there any map of where best to mine slate?
Yes
You can use ashes codex map, has a filter option for most gatherbales
Note it may not be up to date or fully accurate
slate is a random spawn of basalt/granite i believe
ffs xD
I posted a few days ago regarding this. I have not appreciated any gathering speed gains from going from novice to apprentice lumberjack axe. I have noticed a uptick in rarity collection
how much storage does a boat have ?
Anyone weaponsmiths here that I can shoot a few questions to?
6 slots iirc
im lvl 20 whats up
What are the currently craftable adept scepters (or good 1H cleric weapons). I know allot of recipes are currently bugged and not craftable.
I've gotten shit luck with radiant drops so far, so trying to gather some mats to maybe craft an adept weapon that is viable until i get lucky with a drop, but idk what recipes are actually working rn.
mats for radiant? gonna be farming for 2 years to collect all that
I said adept, not radiant
i just read radiant for drop and figured it was same xD
if its t2 adept its still gonna be a little annoying but not at all bad
Yeah, I saw how my second message might imply I was trying to craft a radiant weapon (from my understanding we CANT even craft radiant yet (at least not on EU). I know it's still going to be a ton of mats. But gotta start somewhere.
smithy will be journeyman in winstead pretty soon ish
so by the time u have the mats we prob could xD
where can i get apprentice cert in anvils?
yo have a question, is it possible ot make JM tools if smithy is up? or recipes are bugged, and can you make 26-29 ilvl stuff with smithy?
yeah once jm smithy is up we can make them
so u r 100% positive this coudl be crafted even it has no wood in it
if u have the ingots and the mold yes
do u have it on US?
no chance
that shits broken and missing the 10 willow planks
tools gonna cost more than ilvl 29 weapons
pretty crazy hey
there is no such thing as planks anymore
where can i get apprentice cert in anvils?
thats why half of recipes bugged, some guy just removed planks, but forgot to add another material instead of it in all patterns(
this was a econ patch that was cooked for 4 month btw
timber
also apparently there is no bag recipes on vendors which will be on when we get buildings such as leatherworking or tailoring
You can’t. They have not fixed this yet. You’ll have to run to the Riverlands.
same person that moved decimal places and fat fingered 0's in
well i cna tolerate prices when u able to make them. but when u broke half of recipes which adds really big QoL or u need them to harvest t3 mats - idk? That should be fixed ASAP
or just let us craft as it is, without half mats
ok guess im waiting thanks
Why do people keep posting about them currently trying to make radiant T3 items? is that actually happening already
So I just found out you have a limit on how many things you can craft. What skills should I focus on most for Tanking? I'm specifically going heavy armor
right now it's a choice not sure which but down the line you should be free to choose and get the same bonuses regardless of the artisanship you chose
any info if we can craft 26-29 ilvl items if we have bench built? i am asking US guys since u have some JM benches
I guess a lot of the dropped recipes aren't flagged in the system to appear in the benches yet, no one ever elaborates on what isn't showing up and a lot of people just say "All recipes" and "I can't craft anything" so not sure.
well if there any recipes higher than basic 23 ilvl that COULD be crafted? does someone has one?
anyone figured out how to mine the dead coral underwater? current keeps messing with me
not sure if it works anymore but fighters could heroic leap and you can walk underwater and mine stuff
but , that is my sir an exploit
not sure if its even been patched yet but i sent in bug reports
i meant legit ways 🤣 tank wall doesn’t stop me for long enough
@tepid drum
Journeyman buildings dont give anything. We tryed hard to collect resources and crates.
- This stops artisans progress completly. Cant even craft JM tools because recipes for tools are bugged.
- There is literally zero recipes available at station. I am not talking about learned ones. Even default ilvl 23 are missing. Also ilvl 16-19 recipes are missing too
This is completly nullifies our will to progress as crafters since we cant craft anything higher than lvl 10.
Please report things like this in-game using /bug
I'll do what I can to get this bumped on my side
i have done it, thank you!
idk what to do now, i invested all that i worked in leveling JM artisans, materials for craft, stopped leveling.
And now i am lvl 15 without money but with 2 JM proffs and soem materials that i cnat use
play a diff game, one that isn't in alpha, until this one is ready
well i like it, and i want to invest my tiem in it, but starting from scratch is a bit hard now + i wanted to do som JM stuff
Is anyone 50 miner yet?
Wait, your server has jm weaponsmithing and you cant craft tools ?!
yes
we cant
Omg 🙂 I was dreaming about carph scepter
Same for the carpentry JM tools?
can anyone tell me which node has the Stonebark Wand in the crafting bench? it isnt in Joeva
any anvils node t3
gotcha ty
yea and guess hwo many peopele will invest in buyorders and bring those crazy 33 hunting crates (990 carcasses) next time?
i mean why even trying if it yelds ZERO result
the many people multiboxing seem to be working 24 hours a day
it looks like when viewing them in the artisan menu that crafting tables havent been assigned to the recipe.
Ive bug reported it, but either riverlands / wilderness hasnt been assigned to them or theres an error with it pulling through ( this is an asumption like)
also toolbelt receipes are unable to be bought :S
Ah, so it's the POI set piece crafting tagged Wilderness. Chat's been going on about there being 0 recipes in the benches this is the first screenshot I've seen provided 👍
aye i just learned like 20 JM recipes as ive been funneled them by my guild and cant craft a single one
tbf same with artisan
tbf i dont think i put it in here, im sure i bug reported it in the past tho
if i want to add to this aswell while chats got eyes on armour smithing. why does the novice craft of purifier gear, have a JM grem leather item when it should be grem skin
😂
I wonder if it's something like those items you have to craft inside the Befallen Forge or whatever? I doubt it considering they're not like some uber encounter - aren't the Aelan Chainmail pieces only Apprentice? I made those in the last phase?
Team is actively digging into this now, and I'll pass this along to those investigating
we cant harvest t3 resourse and craft Jm stuff (
cheers 🙂
Level up towns and buildings for that
I've not seen the screenshots from JM crafters but they say there are no JM tools in the JM WS bench in chat a lot
check our previous discussion, we lvled town and got building, but ITS EMPTY
I'm confused what you mean by this
Are you just looking for which artisan matches how a tank plays or the stats coming with the artisan gear?
Yes to both? I don't see the difference
If it’s the stats on the artisan gear it will eventually be modifiable no matter the artisan type you play
If you want to match tank you probably would want armorsmithing so you can repair your own gear when repairing comes out. But I don’t know what stats each artisan gear has because I’m not min maxing something like that which will change down the line.
Sooooo, armor is also artisan gear?
Artisan gear has combat stats on them.
Armorsmithing right now has different stats from weaponsmithing if you want to min max that
Sooo, it's just regular armor?
When you say artisan gear I'm thinking gear specifically made to make crafting/gathering better
look at your character sheet
I am
yeah I'm not talking about crafting gear
lamina is telling you that gear also has combat stats
I'm talking about stuff like 2nd sword division gear as an example
I'm not talking about artisan gear
Talking about gear related to this page
You’re asking in the artisan chat on what tank gear you should make? Armorsmithing is what heavy armor but every artisan needs to trade with each other to function so find what you like to do
I play primarily solo, so I want to make sure I can do as much myself without having to buy off people. Considering that can easily get overpriced and super expensive
So that's why I'm asking which artisan skill I should get a master's in to maximize the amount of gear I can do myself as a tank player
Not that familiar but mining and metalworking minimally but it still is very much your choice past that I think wood, carcasses are also needed for it.
carcasses needed for gear?
Hunting for animals
No I get that, but what kind of gear uses carcasses? Aside from food
Ye
leather bits
Ah ok, that I didn't know
lol in dark age of camelot you needed a tailor and leathercrafter to make a metal armor piece there's some overlap here but I think it's in the processing end not the crafters unless there is and I just hadn't thought about it and noticed it
I wouldn't be surprised if some crafting stuff needs it
Is paying 2-4 gold for an Adept Dagger, about reasonable?
Im not sure how much it costs to produce
etotally fine for green/blue one
the Adept is grade 2 on this chart someone made
that’s vendor + processing only, depends on mats
yes? they were asking if someone charging an amount seemed reasonable and this is the base cost to the crafter
To be fair the amount of money that was needed to progress to apprentice is not calculated in that so i believe in our current economy it is okay
@tepid drum why is the fishing rarity not in line with the rest of the gathering skills? Lvl 0-19 in fishing with 3 heroic fishes and nothing above.
Steven was asked about this, he said he didnt know and he would ask the econ team about it. Never did find out why its like that or if they are going to fix it
anyone has the impression that after the last patch also the drop from gathering has low quality?
its pretty much every recipe in the game doing this.
not every but at least 70%
Are journeyman skills in yet? or are we stopping at 20 for now?
From what we’re seeing, you can learn it, just can’t do much with it due to bugged recipes and drops.
Thanks. Also, is there a market for copper/zinc shards? Or does everyone just buy their own?
make*
Plenty of people seem to be selling raw materials and processed ones.
Heavily depends on the rarity and people having enough money to afford the markup of buying someone's materials.
The amount of stuff being sold might not be enough too so you have to slowly buy from multiple people.
So we cant craft jm staff yet ? Only steelbloom jewellery ?
someone know that the citizen expansion storage 4 give ?!?! the 1 give resource storage, the 2 give item storage, the 3 stack resource storage...but the 4 I didn't know
Node spawns - did they ever remove that legendaries always spawn at the same exact location?
I think yes, I don't find the leggendary where normaly I found in the past
but they didn't write anything
What do you think for trees? Are there hot spots are is it really rolling an RNG on each tree
Im curious because sometimes ill go 2h and not get a heroic or anything then sometimes ill go 15m and its all blue+
perhaps based on server timing or something?
It mostly seems random but then there will be clusters of rarity together.
they kind of removed it there is a cluster rarity respawn problem they tried to fix that failled and lead to a rollback.
So this cluster rarity, meaning within a certain range everything is higher rarity that should be, meaning each tree is not being rolled individually.
From my gathering it seems like these
'rarity' clusters tend to move?
Clusters will share all the same rarity and I think the going problem is they also respawned statically though I can't confirm.
wtb screenshot of iguana steak sale price pre-patch
I wonder how large this cluster is, I have definetely identified an area which yields all rares.
Oh wow, that’s exactly how much gold you need to process 1 JM weapon
it was yesterday, 2 guildies did it and submitted bug reports. they were given cosmetic mounts, the GM came out and removed tavi. Then we sat and watched who rolled up to look for her for a bit..
Carcasses would give skin and meat. Skin becomes, hides, leathers, and glue. Most gear would need it or should need it from glues to ties to armour.
The amount would define it, a little to ties and reinforcements for heavy and light, and full hides/leather for med/leather armour
I started gathering, but quickly found myself in situation where I can't store gathered materials anywhere anymore. I would want to process them, but this require buying materials from vendors, for which I don't have money (I have about 2 silver total currently).
Am I doing something wrong? What is the best approach to gathering/crafting early game? Any suggestions on how I should get silver/gold?
Sell all mats rare and below outside what you explicitly need to process for the thing you are making.
leveling a craft immediately might not be viable since it's an investment of coins but by level 10 when you have more storage options with a citizenship and higher player level you can complete more commissions, gather easier and earn more money. I vendor a lot of things I'm not using but hang on to less common items at level 13 I started leveling up some crafts before like lamina said I was only really processing which is the most time consuming and expensive aspect of the game as stated by devs when I needed the mats for something I wanted to make.
After citizen you can also access the player marketplace and sell things there for cash as well.
Thanks!
@tepid drum please make sure that the team are checking armoursmithing apprentice recipes too please
Yeah 😓
There are other issues with crafting/recipes. Just wanted to flag the Journeyman (tier 3) Service Buildings and associated stations, since those are new reports
In the meanwhile, if you come across new bugs, please report them with /bug
Okay fellow artisans lets all /bug now
- About Learned Recipes which arent shown In service building
- About Recipes that have less materials than intended
About 2) - its partly because some of materials were removed from game - example JM Tools previously contained Wood planks. Then Planks got removed< and those recipes got bricked.
So you better write /bug in game on that matter. More reports - better chance we get faster fix
Alright guys, I want to get into Weaponsmithing. Where do I start?
Im novice on everything
(im solo)
you build sheilds
thats it
build sheilds till 20
least mat too xp ratio
make sure to pop a crafting scroll before you start
quick question for people. I seem to have fallen into a trap of needing to make a new spell bow (carpentry) while trying to get to apprentice but Ive been cutting down so many trees to get to apprentice for the one i want that i've leveled to 13 by it and im horribly underpowered now for my level considering its costing me so much to mill the lumber just to use it for carpentry.
where can I find the recipe to make planks with carpentry?
get some decom kits to save on materials @sand cargo
is it more resource efficient to level weaponsmithing to journeyman with novice recipes or apprentice recipes? Seems like the Apprentice costs 7x more matts but doesnt give nearly 7x the xp as the novice am i missing something? is 550 for the novice and 1101 for the apprentice shield so 2x more xp for 7x more matts
Novice recipes, specifically the shield recipe (4 copper frags, 2 ash wood). Use a crafting XP scroll and only do it if the city has the crafting xp buff. Fair warning it takes A LOT of copper.
so its the same recipe from novice through journeyman, feels like they need to balance the xp a tad. bu ty
Yeah it's pretty rough. For comparison you get like 2x more xp for the next shield recipe... at the cost of literally 6x the resources and more than 8x the gold cost.
Hello! Where i can find this Slagbreaker Miner's Skivvies?
Is Apprentice Farming bugged?
Is there plans for hideworks in a settlement?
Jeez, am I missing something here, leveling carpentry is insane... none of this stuff even sells, the processing costs in lumbermilling is nutty, and it takes A LOT of wood to get a single level, let alone 10...
mostly normal right now you aren't missing anything
I've heard some say you might be better off only processing higher rarity mats even to level to save on cost. They give a lot more xp for higher rarity especially with xp scroll and you'll need to buy a lot less reagent coin sink mats which will save a lot.
Processing exp, does craft exp change at all though it doesn't in tailoring flat rate per craft.
crafting XP is might change a little but not nearly as much as processing and gathering
i made a daystrider and when i retrieved it it disappeared, wth happened?
do we get unbuged somethink from Leatherworking or still NOVICE is top what we can craft now ?
Welcome to grind-a-holics anonymous
Wait till you push for journeyman :))
winstead hit journeyman weaponsmithing yet?
Is scribing suppose to be ridiculously expensive and hard to level
is there anything known as to what we need to do to get apprentice certificate NPCs in anvils?
ye
my girlfriend does it and she complains it's too expensive and Intrepid made it even more useless than it was last phase with giving scrolls out from commissions (though tbf we both like and use them lol). It's expensive and time consuming to level and on top of that, no one buys your wares
go to the river lands and level it there. There aren't foremans in the anvils
What do you think jm recipe will be ?
Did they leave slatemold and tin ingots or it will be complicated changed ?
Bro it will be super expensive
well tin ingots are same price as willow boards
How many willow boards do you have now ?:)
👌 nice
well its best tool in a game what were u expecting? and u need it only once
im not complaining, i already have enough to make 16 of them
and 14g is just one epic cate from aela to anvils
are u from shol?
idk shol was mega for some month, maybe u cba changing ur name
lvl 20 weaponsmith
so is there any plans for a hideworks on the shol server or are the hideworkers just screwed for their profs?
fun fact - lotharia doesnt plan it too, and it has best QoL feature - bags
I did NOT know you could "grind" the stone for a chance at ores. I saw 20 basalt -> 20 sand and 20 coal, though it was just sand and coal haha
nah its fkn insane
i spent like 1g buying dead coral
turned it into sand and got 91 purple copper lmao
does it still need to be processed 1by1?
because when i was sending 100 epic basalt it returned me 100 sand and 1 copper xd
It dice rolls the whole process
nah the sub resource e.g copper for example will always be 1:1
u do 250 lego basalt, and you get lucky and get the copper, it will give you 250 copper of that quality
I saw 20 leg basalt turn into 20 leg sand 20 leg coal. That's not a normal thing? haha
91 from one ? What ?
91 from 91 coral
Does anyone know the fastest way to level Arcane Engineering and Tailoring? Is it just 6 million crafts?
Do certain crafts give more exp than others?
Does material quality change craft exp outcome?
my file operations getting a centure to be done
can anyone confirm tools can be made
Spam basic cloaks with xp scroll and preferably node buff as well, that's what I did. Its 1 of everything and snowdrop thread which is easy to get
Its like ~100 crafts to 10
Thanks!
Thats tailoring or AE?
im assuming Tailoring
im not seeing anything thats 1/1 in tailoring? i see belts and cloaks at 3/1
do i go to the woodshop to upgrade my cert passed journeyman
or do i go to a journeyman building and talk to the npc there?
Should be same person for Apperntice certificate. Its currently only available in Riverlands. The woodshop one is near Briarmoor farms
Adept recipes for Leatherworking still broken?
This one:
https://ashescodex.com/db/item/Consumable_Recipe_Tailoring_T1_Armor_AmbitiousAcademic_Back.
The other need 3 grem skin and this needs 1 I mean
oh right i see
okay ilvl 19 and 26 needs master building what a story to tell
Morning Chat.. Anyone know the whats holding up the recipe fixes ?
are the sunscorched bows now craftable or are they missing mats?
based on how the vendor selling mats etc had unexpected items listed previously it might be some world state interconnected permission structure involved in their system to display recipes like how you need to be in a certain area to show recipe, certain crafting level the station and its supporting structures need to be present it might be some independently developed systems that were merged is my guess and they're needing to make those systems work together properly.
so journeyman lumberjack axe is bugged?
we don't have JM stations where I'm at, screenshot today showed someone saying it doesn't list the boards in the crafting window so it gives the "missing ingredients" or whatever message and can't craft.
unreal
I spam deconstruction kits and deconstruct what I make in tailoring lol
galaxy brain
Im in Anvils area. How do I get the apprentice certificate for mining? Do I have to go all the way to south river lands?
yes
yes
Anvils is like the hated stepbro of the riverlands
How you know? Maybe they are still bugged
no its in description now
Saying anvils is half finished would be overly generous lol
So how people making purple rosarium ?
it means u have smithy + armosmith Upgrade
Nwm it was drop lol
so this patch didnt fix armoursmithing? cant seem to see any JM recipes in winstead
What's a Master Jewelry Outpost? And why is adept jewelry requiring something at master level?
Miraleth Mayor is trying to complete a Trade Bureau, hunting crates are needed
I have a 2604 phys power heroic goblin skin stripper if anyone is interested (shol)
Was any able to craft apprentice leatherworking goods? I had the reagents and daffodil bolts and silver, but says i had insufficient resources. Even though that was all that was shown.
bro thats not ur trade topic here?
waaait do the journeyman stations need some kind of support structure specific to a type of craft that they don't have built to show recipes? I haven't seen the buildings or anything so no idea if those are a thing or if that's something that's needed to make certain recipes show
All jm stations are fuckedddd
Catterina&^^^^^^^^
So glad P3 was delayed to get stuff fixed / ready. A shame really that econ, artisan and anvils are still effed.
This is likely missing one ingredient on the list, Sanctus Skulker looks like it's missing the Tanned Wolf Hides in the crafting list for its items and can't craft you can bug report ones that say they can't craft even when you have the list and it says insufficient resources in-game with /bug or here:
I wonder if they wil make it so you can make Apprentice/JM etc tools with local materials depending on where you are instead of it requiring a basalt mold for this App lumber axe?
On the wiki it has multiple recipes but only one is in game so far
Each with their own stats as well: one has faster gathering speed, one higher rarity, etc
I tend to make casters with absorbtion and high HP in games and I love that the Anvils seems to have some of that.
How to gather dead coral ore? I am being carried away by the underwater current lol
Tons on the island shore to the left of anvils
The crafting buff should be up on Shol in Winstead, right? I'm guessing just bugged...
Yummy
I like your bags
You must be doing extra work to cut your logs up into tiny pieces
thats because of riverlands lag
anyone good with crates and crafting for some questions?
in Lotharia
how did people level armorsmithing lol. its sooo expensive to make literally anything 🙁
You lose money, you make it back crafting what people need. It's like that in any game
There are some things you can make that are useful later so you can focus on those but it's the same regardless
the problem being nobody needs anything in the range 0-10 or even 10-20
at level 1 you cant really make anything that is usefull, just mass produce the cheapest to make was what i was told but man its a pain to craft shit
the cost to make it dont remotely weigh in against vendorprice or market value
Any apprentice bags for sale in win/joeva? what’s the price on them?
I can’t get grem skins or grave lily’s in kal lol maybe I’ll have to stay south for awhile when I go to buy gear
anyone who can craft apprentice fishing pole if i give raw mats in winstead? including linen thread and tin ingot ?
I see apprentice machines in Kal Torhum. Is there something that needs to be done to pop the NPCs for cetificate leveling?
I'm sure there's smth, I can't remember the name though but ye it's shit regardless unfortunately
its draining gold so fast and im only a few levels in. really hoping 10-20 will see net0 or net-profit but system seems to be a huge gold drain so far
not really, it costs more to make then it's worth.
id just deconstruct so you save some materials
Bug or something Im not getting? It says Im capped out with 5 out of 5 apprentice skills, but I only have 3 (LM, Mining, Herb)
you have 5, if you look under the gathering panel you can see 4 labeled apprentice, and a 5th is labeled journeyman (so it counts towards apprentice limit also)
ah I was reading it as if my asking the guy to promote me failed in doing so
but how come fishing and hunting has the lock symbol and not herb or lm for that matter?
the lock is a visual bug you need to do it once and it should tick over
aaaaah
been there since P1 but always gets someone
I've been here since P1 and was none the wiser x)
Are any JM tools craft able?
hello here, i would know how crafting xp scrolls works : does the value (ex :+541 xp for a legendary scroll) is added to the base xp value of a craft or is it a percentage ?
Exemple : If my base xp craft is 100 xp and if my croll give me +541xp is it egal to 100+541 = 641 xp per craft ?
Or is the +541 equal to a percentage or something ? let's break down this shit
Do you know the base xp of a brooksteel longbow?
Not at all
cause i can tell you how much xp you get with 1270 rating
but id need to know the base
hum, i can't tell you ... i'm not carpenter. And also with all nodes buffs , the value won't be correct i think
Can you try to tell me with some approximate value ?
just to figure it out wich kind of formula it is
160
Popping an epic crafting scroll for 1g off the market was giving me 3x xp
When I was doing weaponcsmithing, while crafting shields I was getting 4% per shield even at lvl 19
Pretty goated
so yeah, with 1270 rating i was getting 1051 xp
which means they changed it which is annoying cause it used to be pretty simple. 150 rating used to be 50%
How are you at 1270 rating ? @sweet elk
im not all the time, but with node buffs, scroll you can get up there
thats the conclusion we came to on EU too, except our factory bugged and we cant build it 😄
So all lvl 26 and 29 gear is forever uncraftable basically
It takes 12 months to get gm
That’s what I mean
wed have master smithy station this week if the building plot didnt bug
as a concept im not sure it makes sense, to gate lvl 10 17 gear behind master but thats another conversation
Do you need a MASTER LUMBER MILLING and JOURNEYMAN CARPENTRY ? I`M HERE! PM NOW!
Do higher rarity crafts affect exp like it does for gathering?
Careful of the rollbacks , just lost my scorpion broodling to the guildbank
now i can only use this :/
SELL CARPENTRY / LUMBER MILLING SERVICES - PM ME
It might be helpful to indicate your server arkantos
I'd guess Shol I think Brasil
I asked a mod and he didn’t say I wasn’t allowed too 🤷🏽♂️
Lucky you ARE NOT a discord mod
What are the best things to craft to upgrade weaponsmithing?
Are JM tools still broken?
what profession needs bones?
Nobody is answering about JM tool Pharaoh
so most probably still broken
Still broken
I am JM armor smithing but I don't see the items I can craft at the table
Anyone else having issues or are they down
It’s buggy and some recipes are locked
Level 26 items require master bench, level 29 require grandmaster bench it seems
Is any JM tool craftable already or are they all bugged currently?
Let's cheer up they'll fix it eventually
Anyone knows if state-bound recipes is actually a thing? I got some guildies speculating about certain items being bound by the state Riverlands, Desert, Tropics, Jundark meaning u need the crafting station leveld in the specific node for the recipe to be available.
I believe it´s just a bug that some recipes cant be seen and i hope i am right.
JACKPOT JACKPOT
op ! how did u find this
turning slate into sand
how much stone do you think youve gone through? do you actually think its working out? cost to reward wise
"just"
How are we this far into alpha 2 phase 3 with this horrible crafting economy. It’s ridiculous the cost to process & craft. Unless you are in some kind of mega guild comfortably farming like 5+ gold a day there’s just no point. When is this going to be reviewed by intrepid?
wtf i am solo andi cna say that u can farm 50g a day by moving crates
How many hours are you playing then in a day?
well not that gamer-dad excuse
Well then? How many hours?
8-12
lol ok yea sure. I could do that if I played this game like a full time job. Unfortunately I have a full time job. So that’s out the question. Do intrepid not realise this current economy is heavily weighted towards players who can play for like 10 hours a day. It’s a piss take tbh for those of us with lives outside of the game.
oh, i would have waited for that kind of answer, still if u play 3-4 hors a day u cna do 10-20g by moving packs, if u do it with caution
i was moving crates for some days, and i was always waiting 2-3 minutes away from choke points (where usually gankers are) for any other big groups and ask those groups if they care if i join them. There were literally zero groups who rejected me
Like in everything in real life, isn't the ones who spend more time on anything gonna succeed better in that area? Why would it be different in a game? Theres not anything to do against people who spend more time in a game get better gear and get more money
So gameplay loop is. Spend entire day running crates up and down the map (already boring af) then when you have saved up 20g you can probably just about process enough materials to make a handful of adept level gear. Then you can’t make a profit on them because the market has stuff that drops from mobs now. So the entire crafting economy is a giant money sink with no range able benefit or enjoyment?
the thing is that u can get some money even by doing things in a game for 3-4 hours
gamer-dads real-life/job/family excuses are false.
Also if u play casual - expect to earn casual rewards in a game, and dont compete with others
Processing is expensive yes, and you need to "money make" for a few hours to afford the processing which is kinda bad imo as well
I play like 6 hours a night and it’s just not enjoyable this current system. It’s punishing, too expensive and there’s no real benefit to test it right now because it takes a literal fortune to get anything done.
Yes there are plenty of ways to get money but there are x100 ways to spend those because everything you do spends money, and a lot of it, especially processing
well there is a ways to stay ahead of that spending, and make money.
i hated it too at start, but then i relised that it is fine, and it is best goldsink they ever made.
And for me its better than inflation like in p2 p2.5.
I honestly wouldn’t mind this system too much if a few things were to change.
1- crafting reagent costs are far too high. It shouldn’t be costing nearly 1g to process 10 tin fragments.
2- early game crafting loop needs to be more rewarding to encourage players to take on crafting roles.
3- material costs for crafts at adept + levels needs to be reviewed. Currently the costs are outrageous and just another turn off for wanting to try the crafting loops.
Finally got to apprentice armorsmithing only to find out the cost of processing / materials won’t even come close to what you can sell the pieces for currently. It’s not a money sink. It’s a money black hole.
You mean vendoring?
No. Selling on the player market
I don't have any apprentice recipes that look like they work in tailoring, do they have the correct interface in AC?
You honestly make more money just selling the raw mats or first stage processing vs the actual stuff you craft with the
I just can’t see how this current system in any form is fun or engaging.
I list some of the pieces I've crafted novice tailoring and they sell and I just put it above the processing cost and markup for rarity of the mats, what are you making that's Adept AC that you're trying to sell?
the apprentice recipes don't show correctly and say they're missing ingredients for me
I always in games make more money selling the raw materials for crafting, it's its on profession in this game as well. More demand for items people can use themselves to gain exp or use to have someone make something for them.
Reached apprentice carpentry yesterday. Im just selling my service in global instead. Your mats, my level plus an extra commision price. Otherwise I cant see a way to make bank
I'll have to see if I can find apprentice level AC items in the market I guess.
Tin bracers as an example of exponential costs.
Yeah tin costs alot to process but you only need a couple. The main large quantity mat is always basic tier 1 mat. I find this to be great as there is a point where new and low lvl players can sell those mats to crafters to start making gold instead of just not being able to do anything because everyone is only using t3 mats
level 16, that's Tier II I'd read about tiers and watch that interview Steven did last week.
Can you give me a TLDR of what he said?
Tier I easily accessible to most all players, Tier II (some recipes listed as level 16/26 in-game) are maybe 30% of players might have access or the ability to make relatively easily, Tier III (19/29 etc) maybe 10% just as their thought process on the tiers they've introduced this phase.
I'm running from hawks while typing
Problem with those numbers is, the time to investment for use isn't there
Also how do those ratios work when gear gets passed down or backups sold on the market. It's kind of an ideal that he can list these ratios but it's not a realistic approach entirely
I definitely made more gold idly than this phase last time, I had more than enough to buy the 5g storage upgrade by maybe 12 and done a lot of other things with money I haven't touched commodities this phase but can make a couple gold in market sales in a day over several hours of gathering/commissions if I had more than two days a week where I was on more than one or two hours a day I'd probably be a lot further ahead. Yeah the 1-10 though I didn't get my armor until level 7 and then a weapon like 8 or nearly 9 but also I hadn't focused on that until then I guess.
Hand me Down type sales in Dark Age of Camelot were pretty close if only slightly undercutting the cost of a crafted item new but there usually wasn't an exact crafted item counterpart (dropped from mobs) if there had been they would probably massively undercut the crafted items.
I imagine it is balancing how long it approximately takes to gather each kind of material, processes them, craft them, having enough money for the needed steps, and spawn rate of each of the materials.
I expect there won't be enough materials, on the higher end, for everyone in one biome so when the recipes exist and work in places like the Desert, Tropics, or Jundark (etc) some people will go craft those versions of gear.
To limit the amount of passed down vs created gear will likely rely on the repairing costing materials that are used to craft the gear in the first place.
I could easily see emblems and essences plus any other unique materials being needed for repairs as well as normal materials for high and middle tier gear, limiting the amount of recourses available to craft more.
Oh right, not to mention deconstruction for the special materials for the next gear craft.
Allowing gear to eventually become unusable after time seems to make a difference in the utility of crafting as well.
they need to work on the balancing and systems to make it effective and while I think it could work. The mathing effort the team needs to put forward is much higher then some of the stuff we've been seeing.
And yeah gear destruction or even disable over time is something I've been putting forward in a lot of the feedback threads so the cycle of the market actually works.
well idk gating TWICE ilvl 19 -26-29 items is pretty bad as i think
I mean you are already gated those items by MANY materials required and why the hell we need to do FIVE(!) upgrades on one building to do max lvl 20 stuff?
Otherwise we end up in a themepark mmo gear situation where endgame crafters are stuck after bis gear is made
They said from what it sounded like they wanted to limit those items existing in the world until the world had progressed enough but lol the max level mobs in POIs from the launch sort of negates that idea.
Completely agree.
I'd imagine some of the reason why it's not quite there is due to the size of dev team working on econ and the number of recipes needing to be changed plus surprise bugs. I'm hoping they just need some more time to get things all in line and bugs removed.
You will like this then.
Not sure when near future is but I'm hoping this year to add to balancing all of this.
oh god dark mode
I do feel like they need to systemize the recipes a little. It looks like they've been manually changing all of them personally.
Lol yeah, they definitely need some kind of systematic changes to them.
Due to the scale of the recipes needed for the whole world with 17-18 biomes going all the way to level 50?
I'm not sure it's possible to do that all manually in a reasonable amount of time lol.
It's like they had a placeholder in and just haven't designed the end products system yet, but then they need to add something like the reagents and it takes them 3 months. It also feels like the reason the other biomes gearing and crafting isn't really viable
Can y'all imagine GM gear? I know it's the 'true' end game, and Steven wants to have a call back to old school MMOs, but I truly believe GM gear will take a month of farming and processing to make...per piece
I don't mind hard grind as long as it's fun, right now it's mostly tedium though
Also remember I doubt the leveling will be this fast on release. There will be a lot more time to gather those mats and make said gear.
long way to go on alpha they know they need to adjust give them time
Should be quality over quantity for gear grind on a psychological level telling me I need to get 5 epic trees to craft a epic weapon is alot better vs telling me I need 100 epic trees and 15+gold in processing fees
And if they actually made heroic+ hard to get that would be where the grind effort went to
yall think JM tools will get fixed today or is it cooked
Is there even any other accessories to craft before 20? Steelbloom is bis but before that what are ppl making? Zinc/copper ones?
People need sand at all or its vendor trash ?
Not a win, I'll take it off your hands, 1s ea
need to roll that all separately
Same chances mate, what if he has like 500 of it
agreed, really should be part of the coding instead of one roll though
Is fishing worth it? I now that right now it seems kind hard to invest in cooking, but is fishing worth it overall?
Fish vendor for pennies and the market seems saturated because it's easy to park a character and semi afk. There is a rework coming Novemberish
Save any and all green/blue fish. They're used for crates
Is the market craft bugged? Isnt it supposed to take glint? But instead it costs citizen tickets?
33329
There are various versions. Some take tickets, some glint, some silver.
A lot of crafts take large amounts of fish oil. Like 69 for a Hawk Bow.
Thank you! I guess Im confused, I thought the Market Commodity Station was the one that needed glint. But seems it needs glint and also a citizen certificate from winstead
The other ones in villages and towns are around the top buidling where sheriff is. that's also where guild one is.
Apprecaite it, I'll check those out
taming daystriders still broken?
ok, but how do I know what type of oil to craft?
Reason I'm not a fan of the region recipes being locked. I went to make a Bow, but I did not have Snowdrop Bolts, so I had to leave the Anvils to get Oak from the Riverlands. Snowdrop bolts should use a different Board than Oak if it is still going to be resgion locked.
pretty sure that will be an oversight that needs to be fixed, there missing ingredients for some recipes.
Someone just need to go through it all and double check. Regional items themself is fine when implemented properly.
I think the region locking is perfect fine. For high tier items, levels 30-50. Not 1-29 IMO. They are going to scare away a lot of players this way
They're all useful. Use ashescodex to check recipes of the items you want to make. Hawk Bow takes Bluegill Oil.
how? if youre in the riverlands you make riverlands equipment early game, if youre in the anvils you make anvils equipment.
As things become more established you can be more picky? I dont see the issue
its a problem you cant create an anvils item solely in the anvils but as i said thats most likely a mistake not intended
region lock is going to suck when GM stuff doesn't have a bench in that region
but every region shouldnt be exactly the same
and with time/effort there would be
its not like there isnt enough nodes in the anvils to get the benches
The crates costs and what they give.
This is not my experience, unless I'm doing something wrong. The market crate requires both glint and a village/town certificate. The certificate costs citizen tickets, so I don't see any way of making a market crate with only glint and no certificate
The line for costs is making the crate, not getting the materials that make up the crate as that would make this table way too big.
Settlement Certs all take citizen tickets to make helping settlements more impactful now but they can be traded.
are there any weaponsmith journeyman? trying to get the pickaxe crafted
Who will tell him?
Is anyone having daystrider mounts disappear when you pull them off the husbandry table?
Question: Is radiant armorsmithing (journeyman) recipes not working? I got level 20 Armorsmithing. I got the certification and learned a bunch of recipes but when i open the Journeymen armor smithing bench, none of those recipes are visible.
and yes i went to the advanced smithy that was built int he city
ilvl 26 and 29 gear require smithy upgrades, master and Grand master respectively
Someone tell me, what changed from phase 2 that suddenly no one wants to run caravans anymore. I haven't seen a single one in phase 3.
I've seen a few but https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJddjmsf0qk

can verdant flux be sold for anything ??
Thank you, I missed that but explains it quite well.
why is a caravel a 2x2
They must have nerfed it, supposedly it was 3x4 before, at least so I heard
How does one build a ship?
100oak for a shiphull then you go to a harbor Master and get a ship
At least in the past it might have changed
Guess I'll give it a shot today, I wonder what the harbor crates give
Holy @$£% I just went through 100 copper ore and around two gold to get weaponsmithing to lvl 4.. wtf intrepid. Is this supposed to be testing something?
At level 10 that's rough
Yeah, its not supposed to be an easy undertaking, you are supposed to be helped by guildies
so are caravans just extra spots to hold comodity crates? nothing else? whats the point of being forced to pvp and move way slower vs just running the crates on your mount without worry?
It's not without worry, plenty of guilds go red for packs. But being able to move 3 packs at a time is nice, when you can make some Briarwood parts you can move 8 at a time
yeah, only issue what i have with that is that they bypass the corruption by drowning or by getting killed by a friend to remove corruption
also it seems that even if you are attacked by like 5 guys only 1 or 2 go actually red
but i dont mind the concept otherwise
Normally it should only be 1. It is the person that gives the killing blow.
should everyone that does damage to a non-flagged player go corrupt?
Because then everyone would go corrupt for everything they did. Imagine if all those people that accidentally flagged because of giving a heal or buff to a flagged player went corrupt lol
yesterday at least 2 guys went red out of 5 who attacked me
Not sure what happened with that one. That is not normal from what ive seen and ive pvped a lot.
but in general I do agree that all 5 should go, if they help killing me
playing the system
would stop the main people doing majority of damage and using alts they dont care about for killing blows
Yeah you guys would be crying hard if everyone that did an action against a player went corrupt the first time you accidentally did it.
Is there a resource outside of the game that will tell you how much XP each crafted item is worth? Thought it might be on Ashes Codex but I don't see that specific detail there
Why caravel is holding BLUE crates?)
we were doing like 15 crates
we were not talking about action, we were talking about assisting killing
How fast is the ship compared to mounts + crates?
Healing someone that is fighting someone is assisting in killing said person.
yeah you could argue that, yes
but in general, combatant player against non-combatant should not take dmg
There is no argument. Healing and buffing help kill folks in pvp period.
Yeah... we should just remove open world pvp. Everyone needs to consent to fight. That way nobody can contest anything and we can all hold hands.
That's sarcasm btw.
nah, there is multiple games to play for if pvp is not a thing, but there is also plenty of games where you can pvp all the time, I think ashes has a good balance, or at least trying to have
I agree it does have a decent balance currently with the new pvp zones popping up, the lawless seas and island, wars, sieges and open world pvp with limits.
When we will get master buildings ?
So you can harvest the non existing master stuff? 😄
You strangely need master and grandmaster upgrades on buildings to make the ilvl 26 and 29 gear
And even more strangely 16 and 19 gear
fun fact that grandmaster building will open all recipes (53 56 59) i guess but for 26-29 u need M and Gm buildings
we have really big resources roadblock before crafting 26-29 stuff, why would u gatekeep it even more by buildings?
I could craft all Jm stuff in p2 p2.5 after single building upgrade
now i need to wait 1 building and 3 upgrades (each need 1 service building point and TWO days voting)

Everyone is camping the gear spots by the time we unlock crafting no one will need it
I like it they way it is. Just take a step back and think about it. To craft the tier 2 and 3 you need better "tools" aka the station. You can still be an apprentice working on a JM table and create a t2.
do anyone know where is fishing apprentice certification in ANVILS
Wait if you make a skin stripper with common copper ingots and a legendary basalt mold does it actually turn out Heroic like AshesCodex thinks
How did they break crafting so fucking badly
It used to care about each mat
yea yea, but we have those Forge/Carpin weapons drops still, and with default and even 26 ilvl we cnat even match them, not saying that 26-29 ilvl will need tons of resources for craft.
i am completly fine with resources needed for 29 ilvl crafts but let us craft them please?
by the time we will reach point where we can match dropped gear it would be worthless
Yeah but this is a drop issue from before not an issue with the station idea. Truly I think only t1 white gear should drop from mobs and im not even a crafter just a hobbyist.
not rly, drop issue got fixed but even now we have dunzen bows or carpin books drop etc. I am not saying that we dont need those drops. They are completly fine (we need to satisfy mob-grinders too) but lets keep crafting in pace with them
Just add resource drop from mobs that can be deconstructed by crafters for better mats and such. Too easy
This will kill half of popualtion of the game, look at the whine in geenral chat
People need a chance to drop item
Small but it should be
and now its completly fine
This game is about balance
They do not represent the rest of us. A few people are being very loud about it, mostly the people that power lvl in 3 days.
i think you are delulu about amount of people who wants drop COMPLETLY gone
Same with the crafters that want a pve game and are loud about it. They do not represent all crafters.
I dont want them completely gone.
I want them hardcore limited. White common drops should be common and easy to obtain. You should not be able to gear out in full rare gear in a couple of days grinding sb.
I have been crafting since day 1 and have 4 crafting/processing/gathering skills over 20. I have made 0 items that I’m currently wearing as a level 22 character. Everything I’m wearing using was gotten from drops and just one of my weapons was made by a guildie.
White 29 ilvl weapon still outclasses most of we can craft right now
thats been fixed already
Can’t make most of that in game and won’t be able to for awhile.
People are still whining about it because they dont want white gear so they are saying they get no drops lol.
im just saying eventually
assuming these stats are actually useful now. do you remember how bad gathering rarity and quantity were in P2? I haven’t seen new datamines on what these actually do but I’m doubtful.
This a pipe dream? Gl getting Legendary Carcasses 😄
not wrong lmao
This seems to be pretty okay. No large testing but our gathers got some upgrades and they have noticed the difference over the last few days.
legendary hunting set first
Yay the chance for legendary carcasses went from 0.001% to 0.002% or so?
you have to go to the riverlands
nooooooooooway
What profession makes the gathering bags
Leatherworking, tailoring, and carpentry all have different versions of gathering bags.
The fishing shirts and pants require fish, so gl getting legendary fish for legendary shirts
I’m assuming gathering commissions are still lvl 1 in tropics
We got one line patch notes today. So I don’t think it’s been fixed just yet.
I wanna help get teh smithy built to journeyman, but apparently I gotta haul crates? Can someone explain how this works? And what it costs me?
Hit 50 fishing 🥳
is there an optimal way to level Armorcrafting right now? Feels like a slog and I've only jsut got to level 10. 😅
Buy the novice scrolls
They are like 1g each but increase xp by 3x, or get a scribe to make you apprentice which is like 5-6x XP
You save so much time and gold using them
quick question regarding JM tools, what exactly is bugged?
its missing whatever they want to replace planks with but the game is still expecting planks
do they exist?
because https://ashescodex.com/db/item/Consumable_Recipe_Scribe_T2_Scroll_CraftingXP Doesnt show source of drop/vendor
I’ve only tried with the novice ones so far, unsure on apprentice
what about hunting bow? it only needs bluebell thread and tin ingots which you can make, no?
i havnt tried it but id say it equally is missing something
I just got lvl 4 weaponsmithing and I feel the same already.. ugh
Guys, is the journeyman mining pickaxe recipe shown ingame right? (10 tin ingots + 1 basalt weapon mold)
or is annything else needed?
10 willow wood boards
TEN?
So if you process something that is white and green in the same batch everything will be white, is that intentional?
I’m lvl 24 hehehe
You need processing quality, there is a calculator for it on codex
yes that's intentional
if you do a rare has odds of rolling lower then?
Quality rating, rarity calculator and material breakdown for professing professions in Ashes of Creation.
Do not mix rarity for processing. You will only receive the lowest quality if you put in multiple qualities.
until you get quality gear
it makes no sense. if I throw in 10 uncommon and 10 epic copper at the same time, I should get out 10 uncommon and 10 epic and not 20 uncommon.... cuz if I do 10 uncommon and 10 epic after, I will get 10 uncommon and 10 epic
you can do that though by making 2 seperate orders
that's what I just said
the mix in max is for bulk you dont care about it
I'm confused why that does not make sense. They designed it so that when you mix multiple qualities in one batch, it'll average based on the quality calculator. To ensure you keep the rarities, you separate it
There are scenarios where people don't care about rarity and just throw everything together to mix and process in bulk so both options are available
Dunno why anyone would do that. You lose money, you lose exp. Just start 2 seperate jobs. It's just a weird design choice
I believe it's similar to crafting where there's quality involved and you mix and match to get the rarity you want. The ashescodex has a processing calculator: https://ashescodex.com/artisan/processing-calculator So you can mix high and low rarity if you don't have enough of each to get the rarit you want
Quality rating, rarity calculator and material breakdown for professing professions in Ashes of Creation.
For crafting it makes sense.
I just don't see any good reason to do it for processing that only require 1 material like zinc / copper fragments. But maybe that's just me
At very high metal working its insane
Look at this for example
No way this is intended is it?
???
that makes legit 0 sense
100 out of 300 are heroic, rest common -> all turn out heroic?
That’s with popping legendary consumables
ooooh 😄
It’s good, means crafting is less aids
Oh damn!
Getting that will be nearly impossible tho I guess?
I mean legendary farming and hunting is out of the world right now 😄
Like look at this also
but with these it does kinda make sense I guess
It’s easy wdym
