Havent played for while have they said when they are looking at crafting reworking yet?
braidwood migrating into tropics now :p
is it an issue though i kinda like it :p
i think they should allow it but at winter time, they kjust kill off the creeped nodes 😛
now this is pretty useless difference between common and rare
i mean its a novice recipe not sure what you wer expecting at rare
i would expect there to be some form of noticeable difference at every level. even if it's +1 at U, +2 at R, +3 at H, +4 at E and +5 at L. and rare is when secondary stats come in on gear, so, why not even a pittance added in here. crafting should matter at every tier and level.
then dont craft rare
i'm providing feedback
because each increase in quality should provide a noticeable increase in value
i think its fine for a novice level bag to not get big bonuses for rare quality
i want ANY bonus, this has no bonus difference between U and R
because you probably didnt give it enough to bump up its threshold
not all blues are the same
no
the top of U is below the bottom of R on other gear
if you have enough quality materials you could get 25 with a rare but not be high enough for heroic
which is 26
the base thresholds are C, U, R, H, E, L
so the bottom of R is higher than the top of U, and U is 23 for this bag
its a novice bag
you're missing the point entirely, i'm providing feedback that there should be a difference at all tiers, and i see one that is not
and you're being dismissive because "novice" when, at present state of the game, novice is the only tailoring tier we have
not really theres so much limited in the items possibility to upgrade it because its literally a level 0 item
and Novice is actually kind of important, for non-primary gatherers, since everyone should be collecting novice items for their guild as they're useful from start to finish of the game
see, that's where you might actually be wrong, i know that'd be a pretty huge surprise to you in your life. first times for everything.
in what world would you be saying i need 1 extra resource in this bag
no where
my legendary copper sword should throw fireballs
in this game, it's always useful to gather T1 materials. and not everyone specializes in it, so they're stuck at the novice level. If the tailoring followed the gear pattern, there'd also be secondary stats, as well as increased primary stat at R. so even a little more rarity / quantity goes a long way
you're still missing the point, i want the upgrade from C to R to be visible, and useful at every tier of the game to encourage crafting, which is why i'm providing feedback in the artisan channel
you're just dismissing things to try to feel important
no its literally a vendor item
it's literally a tailoring pattern
so if they don't want there to be crafting of novice bags, they should remove it, otherwise, by leaving it in, they are opening the gates for increased quality, which should provide meaningful justification to use higher materials
if you're wasting high quality tailoring materials on a novice bag you got other problems is all im saying
i can make a legendary grinding stone
I didn't hit combine, i put them in to see what the difference per rarity would be and was disappointed, so i came here to voice my feedback
I'm a primary crafter, always been my focus, so i want meaningful crafting at every tier of the game, and feel like spending the time to get higher resources actually matters
not high enough to get the 25 threshhold
then they need to adjust the threshold. by going from C to U it goes to 24, so the 25 threshold should be at R, and add in a secondary stat, like in other crafting
nah i think its fine the way it is frankly
and that's your opinion, which matters exactly as much as mine
again, your opinion matters exactly as much as mine
novice gathers dont need the extra stats
yeah, they do, because that's where they stop for 90% of the playerbase
no they dont
again, your opinion holds as much weight, maybe less, because all you can do is dismisss
you understand that even trying to add a secondary stat to those bags
Novice gathering tools and bags are where most people are going to be, because they don't craft, or if they do they won't focus on gathering, so any bonus there helps out
but it'd be something at all, and track following the pattern of the higher tiers of crafting
novice is a baseline, it sets the stage for crafting across the game, and allows you to understand the process. all the more reason to demonstrate it fully, even if in small numbers
ok
and, again, novice gathering tools / bags are what most people will have
then they dont need fancy things because they arent focusing on it are they
they aren't focusing on crafting yet at all, it's all placeholder shit
so, i'm providing feedback
well your feedback is quite silly because you want a novice bag to be anything but storage
but if in a guild an officer says "we need oak" then having the whole guild go out and get it, every extra slot can help some
not really
my feedback is silly, your responses are useless, and our opinions are valued at the same amount because we're just minion players
legendary only gives you 6 extra capacity
and i believe that should be higher
i dont
difference of useless opinions
not in the game yet, correct
if it's a moot point then why did they bother putting the recipe in? it's still a part of the placeholder crafting system that will be overhauled, and I look forward to it being better in the future
a satchel is different from a bag
same reason why the recipes exist for copper rings but you can buy them from a vendor
i certainly wont be wasting rare copper on a copper ring
maybe they should just lower the base novice satchel capacity and then give the green the current novice capacity
clearly overtuned
bags are tailor craft?
you can buy the recipes for the novice gather bags / containers at the tailor vendor at the textile shop in western traders
there's also a carpentry version for some of them at different tiers, that have different stats and number of slots
but apprentice is carpentry
at apprentice there's a tailor and a carpentry version and a leatherworking version
yikes
each one is a different skilll? Like mining is a basket?
for mining there's a basket, pouch, and satchel at apprentice as well
oh
we just don't have apprentice tailoring or leatherworking for you to see them
good to know. Thanks
we have
when did the textile mill get built where? i neeeeed more tailoring
aiithanair
all 3 artisans have each bag option they do have different stats on them each so some are better than other depending on what u want. for example the carpentry apprentice bag i beleive has higher rarity bonus compared to other 2 which has better carry amount of quanity bonus instead i beleive
a slate basket mold? Seriously
gotta make that steel basket :p
steel cage of materials
ooh, banded chests that's the ticket
do we sell lumber on the market? no npc buy for decent coin?
cant even list on the market any reson why?
You need to be at least lvl 10 to list on market. Are you?
can we get freehold farming hotfixed before the rest of the artisan changes are ready? t2 tree material farmign is completely dead. It takes 8 wood to get 5 back with rooting balls
i know all the crafting professions suck with the increased material cost, but this is literally unusable
first time?
using a freehold for farming, yes
was kinda hoping they didnt completely overlook an entire processing branch and made like... freehold trees that take 8 and give 10 or something
but nah
what about 64 weeping wood for 1 bread?
yea .. i mean the entire system is currently broken
releasing it piecemeal with weeks in between parts that dont work until theyre al in place
is oof
Not sure how these changes were first even thought of at all, then second it actually passed and got implemented lool
its clearly a small piece of a much larger picture... thats breaks literally everything until its complete
best to implement it all together for sure then if thats the case, just my opinion cause otherwise its just a huge waste of time and useless test data
yea it should have not been implemented in its current state... they arent getting any data on it bc no one can do anything
hence why they had to hotbuff spawns on uncommon materials
im sure theyre getting some kind of info.. but what... who knows
whats the vendor you need for leveling up Herb?
Agricultural Supply building at Azmaran, or https://ashescodex.com/map?id=6064632202505617416
Are these rare? Its the first one I've encountered and codex says they are just a cosmetic..
Shoalskipper is T2 water mount, super cute
I found out it grants me breathing underwater so not just cute but awesomee
The shoalskipper is a cosmetic mount but in this phase, it functions as a huntable mount
where is the apprentice sickle crafting station?
@undone pilot you can find them in city nodes. That's where i got all my apprentice crap. Haven't done herbalism yet on my end.
Not apprentice?
Not for herbalism. For everything else - I got it in the city node. That's why I said that he should look for it there.
To make the apprentice sickle you have to go to a city with Agricultural Supply building - rigth now, that is Azmaran in the desert.
Swim thre, fromt he shores of Joeva and then run,run to the city. When leaving, get killed and chose to ress at your home portal. Costs you XP debt, but saves time
You can just untuck if you don’t touch embers 😅
How’s the ore spawns been since the update
Seen some copper/zinc/tin, but if you don‘t hit the jackpot in a cluster you aren‘t really getting anymore than before the cluster update.
The proc rate on granite/basalt to procure other materials has reliably increased though.
It also procs any rarity and is not dependent on the base material acquired, not sure if it was like that before the patch already.
It was
„Just“, that‘s gonna be your sickle for the next three months
lol
It took me 8hrs to get enough ore to make 1 weapon
so when you buy or get a freehold (house in the wild) can you then put crops down and raise animlas on your land?
you can watch this video from 2 years ago that shows some of the stuff you'll eventually be able to do:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZHkMaNWiKg0
right now you can only plant stuff I think, but I might be wrong
We are extremely excited to give you an early preview of our Freeholds in Ashes of Creation, including some updated design information! This 4K video is just a taste of what's to come!
Reminder that Ashes of Creation is an open and transparent development project. As such, you will see work-in-progress art, systems, and mechanics. Leave us your...
what is grinding stone used for?
deconstruction kits
OK thanks. Made 5 heroic
wow it takes long time to craft items just to make my tool upgrades i could be here half the day
ya, i'd just do this, its not like we are testing how travelling is at this point, did that enough last phase spend too many days moving node to node. I do that still obivously but what I did was didn't touch any Ember Springs on N side XD
What is the benefit of higher rarity decon kits?
supposedly you can get the same rarity of items or drop [for example, rare item, using rare deconstruct gives you rare breakdown of items, copper, etc.]
Price check on legendary river-lands completed treasure map?
So I am new to the ashes this phase. I haven't really followed all the NODE stuff and exp and how that all works. When it comes to Journeyman stations, how do Nodes upgrade to 4 when they show little lock icon and no more exp being gained? What are the Mayors or citizens or both suppose to do to work towards journeyman?
ya, and slightly lower rarirty 😦 dam
Anyone knows where the Verdan Voyager can be hunted?
Crocodiles in the rivers of sandsquall
But those are Journeyman no? Not the ap ones?
I’m not sure
i completed my quest I picked up at lvl 2 to mine 10 copper nodes today
So it takes 44 willow to make an apprentice bag with carpentry. It takes 80 willow to make an apprentice bag with tailoring. WTF are you on devs?
that processing change broke half of crafting, idk why it hasnt been reverted after such feedbakc, and we have thise for 1 month
the over-reliance on willow was ridiculous even before the current changes took effect. With the new changes we've gone beyond ridiculous and into farce.
say that to tin, which is nearly nonexistant
Has Winstead upgraded it's Hunting Station, or is it still Apprentice?
Price check on legendary restored riverlands treasure map.
yo ho testers~> anyone have the spot for leveling up to apprentice herbalism? other than everywhere, is there a primo loc?
I think outside Miraleth? It used to be huge patches of daffodils there
ya thanks :> forgot about those
Since the excavation kit takes 10 Lego ash...
Id pay 8-10 for the map myself
Does anyone know if bluebell spawns in the tropics?
I haven't seen any
Is the profession limit per character or per account, because I cant promote my herbalism to apprentice on this chartacter. I have 1 journeyman, 2 apprentice and 2 novice.
What town has apprentice Herbalism / Weaving
I thought it was one rarity lower
per character you can have all novice but only 5 at apprentice and everything above apprentice counts as apprentice
thx, so it must be a bug since I cant promote my herbalism to appremtice
you should be able to promote try relogging just dont have the station up to upgrade your tools so you cant gather anything over T1
Again thx
my guess about why we need that much complete resourses in craft recipes and why processing takes that much resourses also is that its part of bigger picture that contains artisan talents which are lowering cost or recipes or cashbacking part of them after craft/process.
Does it sound real or its just copium?
I do think that much of the current balance in terms of crafting, resource spawns, and even mob drop rates is just because of the limited content in the alpha. We should continue to give feedback that it’s downright insane currently, but I fully expect recipes, resource spawns, and mob drops rates to be steadily improved as they add more content and tiers to the game
People want to play this as a full time game even in alpha, and they certainly want that extra testing time, so they’ve needed to basically convert early game progression into “end game” progression. That’s honestly the only thing that makes sense to me for some of these recipe changes
Has anyone put together a spreadsheet for freehold farming? How long it takes for things to grow?
I can't find anything on the internet about crop farming yet. It would be good if crops had a 24hr growth time. That way they willa be easier to manage.
Allegedly, 18 hours for plants....4 hours for trees
Guild just did black berries and it was 20 hours
Pheonix told me it was 18
It was 18
Damn he was right i seen the 25 root balls and 18 hours later lol
All i know is im not doing a freehold next phase haha

I googled how long it takes blackberries to grow in ashes of creation and AI google said 2-3 years
yeah the ai google responses are not good for this game lol
They’re not good at anything
they will confidently cite other mmos at random
well when i asked to make autodisenchanting and selling LUA code for addon for WOW, AI wrote good code (had to correct it a bit but it was good)
I wasnt expecting an answer from AI but I found it hilarious
which node is planned for arcane engineering?
What's everyones thoughts on processing rn ... should we just hold off to see what the update brings?
i think everyone holds off
that would be hillarious if they fixed processing issue by multipling gathering resourse gain
all those raw investments will go POOF
Lol I keep everything in raws due to rmtflation- would be boned
Are there any potion recipes actually in-game? Most of them on codex state they are not obtainable in-game
anyone have info or know where to find it on freehold and farming? I have planted crops 4-5 times now and all have been harvestable sub 12 hours. This batch im at 15.5 hours and still unable to harvest. Problem is I don't know if thats normal or not. Bug reported it for now, but maybe its intended? Only difference this time as opposed to others is this time I planted 2 rare/blue flax balls. Wondering if the higher quality you go up if it takes longer?
How's herbalism income rate compared to grinding mobs?
someone mentioned JM mining is up in world chat can anyone confirm?
idk when there is not even 4 buildings there
the infamous unchoppable tree
On top of the mountain, above a bear cave, near where you can drop off to the desert, near Mira ... Am I right?
That tree got me too. Well played tree, well played.
does this stat actually do anything?
is there a chance to get multiple mounts from one craft?
... supposedly, but do we have confirmation of it actually working?
Stats are exponential so such a small amount would likely never see results this phase
It happened a few times that I know of p2
Never got it to work last phase, i was paying attention to it, just too low of a rating possibly but never once saw from lv 1-28 lol
New Aela has Apprentice Arcane/Alchemy/Scribe
ya, gotta move my char there temporarily 😛
where do peope farm droppings why is poop so hard to farm
Fresh toon -> kill grems outside LH
that place is hella packed
Still best droppings/hr
PooBandits have claimed all the poo
Sadly
its ours
Anti fun gathering/ crafting / leveling 😔
am I missing something or does the artisan system just seem completely ridiculous, the amount of time it takes to gather enough materials to make 1 item is not all relative to how useful said item is or what its worth... farming mobs seems to out perform harvest/process/craft by 100x
They really do need a rework, which supposedly is happening now. Patches 0.08, 0.09 and 0.10 was supposed to fix it. The only thing they really fix was node camping is no longer viable... that was a great thing... but they unintentionally killed the rest of the gathering system in the process.
They also never really baked into recipes the fact that t2 and t3 crafting takes 4x and 8x more resources than before.
Steven said they are taking another pass at the artisan system with this upcoming update.
great, cause even to get started with the most basic recipes is brutal.. something as basic as getting enough rubies for making healing salves ...
Yeah it's crazy.. 18 rubies for a single ring to get like 3% to level 2 is mind blowing... and it onky gets worse at tier 2. It takes like 140 willow to make a single bow. It also takes 10 different skills at the apprentice level and all of the apprentice buildings to be avaliable to make a single piece of armor at tier 2
Is tomorrow the day they return crafting to my glorious game
Let's hope... They really do need to address t1 crafting and t2 recipe complication.
I'm hoping they will have t2 stations as a default for village nodes.
They've delayed this updated like 3-4 times now, lets hope for tomorrow...
cmon guys its only 64 willow 16 poop to make one piece of bread
I'm corrupting on so many people if its not out this week
I personally enjoy getting 80 willow for a bigger herbalisim bag
i dont mind bags being expensive
found the gold buyer
I got my mining bag done... but jeez that was expensive/time consuming lol
Honestly Im exaggerating, but what else is there to do? We havent really gotten any substantial update of content for a few months. The last I can remember is naval and rogue...
I personally have no desire to do a mindless grind for hours just to have a chance at a good item. I would rather have a good time collecting mats and slowly crafting and earing pieces that way
I would MUCH rather them start getting what we do have closer to vision than adding more place holder stuff
Flesh out what we have... then add new stuff around it, and then flesh it out... repeat
Of course, but you have to be realisitic, we're still a few years out from release. They are working on backend stuff so we dont see a lot of progress. But at the same time, this is the consequence of doing an "open development", people will demand some sort of content drip, not a drought.
tying in 3 regions worth of items into the crafting system is probably a huge task both in its size and as a system for all future areas
neat social experiment right now with a lot of people stuck in one small area for limited resources
I understand.. really I know there is a lot going on, but why add more and more placeholder systems ... the node siege is baffling to me... I would have thought that they would have carpentry add ins for vans and ships before that... or have a concept of siege weapons and node defenses up before allowing a siege.. (which they should know would just be a zergfest)
I agree.... once they have their vision in, you should be able to mix and match resources to "alter" the recipes to have different stats... say sub out oak for Larch on a bow to add crit power... or ash for phys power
Anyone else just waiting for that Econ patch?
still no artisan update?
There were 3 of them so far .... all pretty rough (although it is a WONDERFUL thing to have dynamic spawns to prevent spawn campers) but there were some, I assume, unforseen problems it created.
I saw the gatherables update but I was wondering about the recipe update
The recipes rework is what I'm really interested in
same
Rn it's way too complicated... and resource heavy
yeah I stopped logging in for now. Waiting on that patch
I understand complicated the further you go... I LOVE that actually
But early game, it requires 10 different apprentice skills to make armor... that's too much at t2
That should be end game goals
Vorkosagin, They have multiple teams working on multiple things at the same time.
I know
We need working updates for sure .. flax, copper , zinc too hard to find
flax is all over the tropics, zinc is all over tropics and jundark aswell
it spose 2 be in this weekend spose too 😛
The hopium is strong, I just want to make stuff for people.
it was supposed to be may 8th...
Is the PTR up?
It was ... That was the "clusters" update that kinda blew everything up.
I do like the "Clusters" idea in theory for a resource haven that can be contsted ... but shouldn't be like the only source in an already scarce T1 resource situation
The number of skills to build a piece of armor is not really a problem IMHO, although we could argue that the recipe is a bit too complex for T2. The main issue is the number of required resources compared to the number of available resources. This is a serious problem.
I am 100% in agreement with you on that ... it is just compounded by the fact that you need so many people involved as well at just T2
True. At the same time it’s also an enabler for a rich and deep economy 🙂
And I'm all for it except early game when people are starving for the most basic level 10 gear ...
by the time we get the benches, make the tools, aquire the resources, find all the processors, find the benches, and then find the crafters ... people are already looking for level 20 gear ... even if they slow leveling, that wont work lol
@thick acorn do you know where to find copper?
I do ... unfortunately it's already in Frags ... Deconstruction kits lol
They need to fix the grind for armorsmith/weaponsmith to lvl
it's all a grind ... Except Lumberjacking/Lumbermilling/Carpentry cycle ... Those are done right imo (except taking 140 willow for a bow lmao) but the gathering processing and T1 recipes feel good and right.
tailoring is a bit rough because you need to depend on animal harvesting or farming to get it done ... but you are right ... the metals are the worst!
I am ready to for tin armor/weapons however im only lvl 1 in both, due to resource crunch.
that's a whole different issue tbh ... Its a GRIND just to get the workstations to Tier 2
I made an etire set of copper armor and did not even get passed lvl 1 armorsmith
all 8 pieces
nope ... takes 100's of sets to get to level 10
I understand the principle behind their thought process, it needs to be tweaked by at 30-40% which should speed it up enough lvling across the board, and keep the rando's from attempting crafting
either less resources per item, or more xp per item crafted, or a mix of both
higher rarity combine = higher xp should definitely be a thing
that does suck, but I think their mentality behind it is; rather than say you need to be level 200 in this skill in order to be maxed lets squish it and make it 50, but make the grind longer to 50. Which in the end to me seems good, though I will say early levels should go fast then it should get steeper as you go, rather than the first 5 levels feeling like forever.
I agree with that. I don't mind the grind, but the intro levels should not be the roadblock.
Or... I just had an idea not sure if it is new. But add a repair mechanic in where we can repair equipment for XP also. Like Toon and You are standing next to the bench and can repair their equipment.
at the start of the game, there's too few T1 resources available to gather and craft anything by the time you are lvl 10+, then, the amount of combines you need to be able to promote compounds this, then the need to wait for towns to hit L3 and build limited number of buildings to craft any T2 is long enough for you to be level 20+, then the amount of combines in the T2 to promote to T3 compounds this further, then the need to wait till the villages create the upgraded T3 bench would put you to lvl 30+ in an uncapped game. With all of this, if mobs drop ANY gear at all, it's more effective to grind that than to craft.
Imagine if rooting balls were multiple uses/harvests. I wouldn’t even care about the recipe being so messed up right now if they at least let the trees/herbs respawn enough to make even a little profit/surplus of materials
there's actually zero purpose to rooting balls for t2+ if they behave like the t1s do right now
8 wood input for a 5 wood harvest on a tree
It’s 55g give or take for the materials to make a willow rooting ball and at most you might get 30g back (6 proc of willow) at Legendary. But you still lose 2-3 willow a rooting ball lmao
not even counting the cost of droppings and time required to craft one, the fact that the input is higher than the output is wrong
if it took 8 and gave you 10, you could try to figure out if it was worth the dropping input to get that extra 2 wood out of it
but right now it's not even worth doing that calculation
I also realized bluebells are also cooked
actually annoyed I farmed so many droppings to get farming up for it to be useless atm. I’ve planted like 2 things at my FH cause I cba with the loss of materials
Does this mean you can gather and process but not craft, or process and craft but not gather?
Would be better if they made it 3 GM. One way or another you are required to add other high level crap to craft something, at least this way you can gather all crap that you can on your own
just means you can do 5 total things at apprentice level or higher
everything else is done at novice level only
if you have 5 professions at apprentice or above, for example, but not lumbermilling, you can still turn oak into timber, but you can't turn willow into timber
I get that, but the high end resources you:
- gather and process - someone else crafts
- gather and craft - someone else processes
- process and craft - buy resources from marketplace
oh ok, then basically yes
right now it's not a super big deal, since there's no resources or crafting above journeyman anyway, so you essentially get 4 jman things and 1 apprentice thing
so you could conceivably do some of what you're asking there on your own
yeah, I was just thinking about the endgame a bit there cause I was trying to figure out the path I'm gonna take
for sure
Social game they want you to depend on many people
dunno how much you've explored the crafting system in general, but all the crafting systems are pretty intertwined with each other anyway, so you'll definitely be working with others to get everything you need for crafting
IE most crafting professions need 3 or 4 or 5 other inputs from processing or other crafting to do
yeah, i figured that out. I was just hoping to get 1 of the endgame materials on my own and rest would be auction. or something like that
that's prolly the best way to do it
or make sure you have a good spread of processors and crafters in your guild so you can all work together
but this is all somewhat subject to change depending on what they do with the econ changes they've been talking about for weeks
It is a bit of a tough system to wrap your head around. Especially coming from other mmos where typically you can efficiently gather most, if not all, the mats you need for your chosen craft. I can kind of understand the direction of vision. It's just off-putting.
Theoretically, you could get kind of close with one crafting at gm, the primary related processing skill at gm, primary related gathering skill at master, secondary processing at journeyman, and tertiary processing at apprentice. Though, given that at least some portion is gonna require 3rd party assistance, whether by guild or markets, it could be argued that you could divert to another gathering during downtime for extra cash on the market or another processing of your choice for your last apprenticeship.
Nah nah, the system complexity is not a problem. I think it was just yesterday that I learned about the limitation on the professions
that's why I was baffled
I would hope they would remove processing as a trade and include it in harvesting such as tanning, lumbermilling, stonemasonry and metalworking. Then make weaving, cooking farming, animal husbandry and alchemy a trade. As it stand now it is a time sink added in for no purpose. IMO.
Time sink and coin waste
and resources waisted ... Have you seen the weapon/armor mold recipes???? crazy!!
It's also a high end limiter. Can only process things in a freehold at master and grandaster.
my solution to this was all towns have every bench that levels with node or some other way, and the controlling mayor only decides building modifier buildings, like yield etc
i don't think this is the answer. processing fits their "make people work together" thing real well, so i doubt we'll get any huge changes like that. they just need to make some changes to recipe costs for processing, or number of processes in a chain so t2+ mat costs don't get exponentially higher
also stops the 30min runs across the map for stupidly long crafting chains
Something similar to how they do it in New World would be nice.
yh, i agree, i dont get the devs hard-on for makign every craft regardless of rarity a 2-3man job spanning hours of gathering and mats before rarity is even considered
they could jsut add a scaler for rarity, ex: copper greatsword common is 5 copper.... blue copper greatsword is 20 blue copper etc
they can just end the x-amt of any mat, and require all the same rarity mats (the point system that currently determines outome)
In general, in my opinion, it should scale when crafting something -> novice: one trade skill; apprentice: two trade skills; journeyman: three trade skills. Start off easy and each tier is harder and required more coordination. Current system gets too nutty too early.
Where'd you see this if you don't mind me asking
i just want recipes that don't all require riverlands materials that are under-stocked such as, well, everything except oak and ash
Do the new zones (non river lands) have finished gatherables or are they still WIP? Like t2 willow/slate/tin ext...
everything is WIP, and poorly distributed (mobs, resources, etc)
but there's T1, T2, and T3 spread across desert and tropics
Yea but to something are more WIP, ok I figured I have t really ventired out of the river lands , thanks!
tropics is better distributed than anything else i've seen
Cool I took my guy to the desert and was like it's all sand sand everywhere
the tropic is "ach, lizards everywhere, and they'll chase you across multiple biomes without ever stopping"
lol. True
Lol hungry hungry lizards
but also "ooh dragon tree, palms, dracnea, COCONUTS"
Imaging going there with mats for apprentice sickle
I did scared the fuck out of me I was only lvl 11 too
and almost dying
you can swim it and hope you get out of the water without anyone waiting to smack you
Wait theres no like fatigue from swimming?
nope
Daym I'ma have to find em a swimming mount the
but the "ocean" water in the tropics is lawless, so when you land on land, you're a combatant (purple) for a minute
Ahhh
and the islands IN the ocean are combatant lawless
you do have to face up so you don't drown too
I'm getting itchy waiting for server to open again
I don't know what is going on with these econ changes. Wasn't the date for the final econ update May 9th?
I understand that missing dates is usual but I don't feel like what we are asking for is hard to do.
just reduce crafting cost for starters
The Cluster update was supposed to be the end of it ... but that turned out to be disastrous... so they're gonna have to take another swing at it
Trying to imagine grandmaster recipes requiring 6 items to make 1 thing and recipes needing 30
@marsh vigil Can you provide any insight as to why these econ changes are taking so long to come online? I understand delays happen but I feel like something else maybe going on.
ya, players just want to do something with crafting with these placeholders atleast lol
I think what makes me the most frustrated is that the Novice tier of crafting is completely undermined. You have to get people excited to craft, not say ohhh fuck that lol
The 1:2:3 method and clusters was a complete disaster. The entirety of 0.08, 0.09 and 0.10 was a failure and now they are scrambling I'm sure
I have to craft 600 gloves to hit lv 10?? That's wild...
There are hundreds of recipes, hundreds of resource spawners, hundreds of stat/bonuses and a lot of other interactions that are involved in the Econ changes. Not only does it take time to do the work but it must also be tested.
We will be discussing on tomorrow's livestream
Sounds good. I understand the patch is huge but it really sucks to endure for this long.
Well, I guess, I will be continuing my afk fishing and little bit of gathering as usual then
I wish you guys piece mealed it better but that's life
embrace the suck brother, it is simply the ebb and flow of testing sometimes
Yeah ... 0.08 thru 0.10 HURT
Is buying vendor items to decon what you intended Steven?
Because it's actually pretty effective in the current environment for basic materials
i am sure, they are aware of that, sucks for sure though specially for T1 mats
It's definitely a "work around "
I think that you should not be able to deconstruct vendor items at all. I understand for now being able to for testing purposes but when this game goes live, that shouldn't happen or exist.
just remove the last couple vendor items ppl deconstruct instead
only items to deconstruct should be mob drops and crafted items
Idk an item is an item, vendor pricing is like a market minimum price floor for goods
Only if they get t1 resource quantities right
I guess for deconstructing it acts as a price ceiling for mats which is iffy
I've printed 1000s of copper fragments
and that's why it shouldn't exist
hell yeah
by allowing people to deconstruct vendor items, you just undermined Miners completely.
Rn I can get copper frags for a little over a silver per through deconstruction
i got tired after 100 fragments so basically 33 or so vendor items. I had to make the deconstruct kit too, was a hassle with 1 crafting at a time with 10-15s timer lol
Those still aren't enough to level to apprentice
That's the problem
that needs to change as well.
You shouldn't need to craft 100's of items to level to 10
You should
now from apprectice to journeyman you 100% should
But it shouldn't take that much material
material cost were messed up for sure, but its a test in process which is understandable, just wish they had backtracked that patch itself
Novice should be for folks to easily dabble in EVERY skill to see which one(s) they like and want to pursue
you can't overflood the market like that. Its supply and demand. People are crafting 100's of a single item and that's not good. You need to incentivize people to craft everything on the bench. People need gear and if you do that then you have to compete pricing wise thus players can buy and find affordable gear.
The artisan stuff feels like certain professions need other ways to level.
Weapon smithing could use like "sharpening stones".
Make them more relevant outside of just gear?
This, arc eng has kits
weapon smithing and few others are brutal to lvl indeed XD
if the crafting stays the same as last week, the most efficient way to craft a dunzen weapon would be to go to the laweless areas and farm enough steel weapons to and deconstruct them rather than gather iron and coal. I find that at least an interesting meta
On the other hand if we expect item drops to be even less common in the future, then levelling naked will become more and more common.
This is a good suggestion, maybe items that offer temporary boosts, like potions. Or maybe like armor repair kits or something
And easily level... if you dabble and get 10% of a level using your early game life savings... that's not exploring options to pursue the craft ... you just soft locked them out
Another viable option is to have specific things for crafters to make for buy orders
Armor smithing "repair kits".
Carpentry something for increases range on bows
Idk i feel that there's lots they could add to keep apprentice professions relevant.
Decon could also provide experience as well as some materials back
Decon already does in a way for arc eng from the sifts and residuum
But allow the exp to go to the prof required for the decon?
Afaik you need the relevant prof to decon it?
You could just spam novice decons
Repair kits should 100% be a thing. Armorsmiths for heavy, leatherworking for med, tailoring for light, weaponsmith for metal weapons, carpentry for bows, arcane engineering for wands etc... stop allowing vendor Repairs. Make it require t1 resources... make all t1 resources as available as Western Larch
That's what I did and I'm just about master in arc engineering
Higher level crafter makes better repair kits... apprentice still use t1 resources, but more combinations, but also restores more damage to the equipment.
You could also have gear have a chance to lose max durability upon repair. Higher quality and higher skill is needed to prevent the durability loss
Dont listen to Vlhadus, he's short.
Thank you for this. Click my discord profile and see my new banner

lol
@native pilot are these accusations true?
lol being 4'8" isn't an easy life... Why do you think I want to be a Ren'kai brother lol
Actual image of Steven and Vlhadus.
yas.. can not be you.. you are shorter?
Hope you have been well Fayne ❤️
6'1" of gambling degeneracy here.
So are we suppso to be testing something yes or no ???
Yes, test your patience.
You too dad.
lol
We now have our new best meme

Don't let the haters get to you. It's takes how ever long it tak s
I dont believe the people were hating lool
Dam, nothing
No crafting changes in patch notes, other than flax fix?
The lack of changes in the patch that was supposed to have them isn't surprising.
werent we suppose to get econ changes or am i trippin?
@marsh vigilYou promised a patch with economic changes a month ago, where is it?
yea whats the big hold up
patience is a virtue
also they said we would get hunting update this month but im guessing thats pushed back too.
Steven followed up on this about six days ago. The post is here: #alpha-two-artisan-chat message
Team is still working on this, and we expect changes in the coming weeks.
I'll see if we can get more people from the team to talk about this, during the livestream tomorrow
This is a post listing the planned changes, but the promises to change the economy started earlier
It's way more important to the overall health of testing than jundark nodes. LOL
Sorry roshen, and I mean no disrespect, but we’re still waiting on processing changes that yall claimed would release back in April. We’re coming into June this week and haven’t seen or heard anything. If anything, everything else has been brought to focus over this. Where’s the transparency yall brag about having?
Totally understood. Like we say often, development is a moving train and the timeline for things change
Weeping willow rooting balls still take 8 wood to plant 1 tree that produces 5 wood
No disrespect taken, you can certainly share your feedback
Again, Steven literally spoke to this being a work in progress that will take weeks, less than a week ago. Post is linked above
I'll see if we can talk more to this during the livestream tomorrow, if you're able to tune in for that
1 month of 2.5 alpha is gone, nothing of planed changes has relised
thousands of dev hours.
No crafting recipe changes? 😦 Sad
I still can't hide my helmet, but they "added" that feature 2 months ago
Because Development is hard. 🫣
i know it is. i do they same stuff they do and work with Unreal
somthing is up though cause it seems like every team is behind on everything
This work in progress has kept artisan crafting in a stagnent state for weeks so far, as it's simply impossible to craft materials in Apprentice tier for any reasonable amount of material quantities required, let alone what it will take to craft in Journeyman tier.
It's disheartening to see it continue in this state, week after week, without it being addressed in any meaningful way, shape, or form.
Upping spawns rates hardly does anything to address this, when it takes 80 willow to make a single caravan piece, 64 willow to make a single loaf of bread, 140 willow to make a single bow, and this is just for the Apprentice tier. Double these numbers for most things in Journeyman.
I know dev things take time, however this does need to be given a decently high priority to fix the numbers involved so that crafting can actually be done in the game beyond novice tier.
And I'm providing feedback as the current testing environment of the "game" related to the artisan pathway. Go on though.
I was a developer outside the game industry, we had whiny customers too. Right now they need to work on the outstanding Phase 2 items and balancing progression Nodes/adventuring/economy/artisans/whateverelsefuture. No point in releasing anything that doesn't get past developer or PTR testing.
Steven gave time on a bunch of stuff and even had the people leading these changes confirm the time when they would get releases. They are missing these times by months for in my opinion even the smallest things like updating how hunting works.
Yes but they are trying to hit that Phase 3 deadline, more expedient to get that all done in one patch than piecemeal. I think they want server meshing in as well. They can't worry about what the baseline was now. It is a new plan.
umm eveything im talking about is from his new plan that he talked about in the livestream last month
its ok to just says he wrong lol we dont need to do mental gymnastics
If you work in development then you must be aware of missed estimates. Surely you know they are not promises.
well he needs to do the math and add some months to every estimate cause it would be far more consistent.
im just being a shit head lol
but fr he needs to stop giving estimates
I agree but he is new at this, so cut him some slack. Overall I give him a solid B+ or A-. One of the entertaining things is watching those livestreams and Steven giving timelines, is the rest of the team fidgeting and trying to cut him off.
I couldn't help it after seeing the massive thicc patch. All in good fun, @marsh vigil.
Idk why I find this hilarious but with all of the crafting changes that clearly need to be made, someone took the time to rename dozens of items instead of making real change.
I'm convinced they have a guy with a dartboard he throws darts at during his lunch break and whatever he hits gets renamed.
No, they probably have a person/team wandering through cosmetic change requests that can be pushed, because the functionality associated with that cosmetic is finished. It isn't tied to functional changes.
No update to crafting again.
They should just put the processing back to 1/1/1 and it will fix most of the complaints that crafters have for the current "death of crafting" situation.
At least until they can address this all in whatever plan they have for us to test once the "big beautiful crafting patch" finally reaches us.
Development for Artisan Crafting and Resource Spawning (Riverlands) isn't a moving chain. That train has derailed and the cleanup crew is on vacation. Phase 2.5 is essentially done for crafters... here is hoping they finally get things addressed by phase 3. But as I have stated before.... "DO SOMETHING". We are in a "test" phase, but you can't test if you don't implement. There should have been a rollback of the "cluster" update when it completely broke resource spawning in the Riverlands. If the ability to rollback an upgrade/update hasn't been worked into the process, then it is time to start working that in now so it too can be tested. Issues happen with patching... being able to backout a patch is part of the process. In ALL areas of development and IT.
Doing "nothing" and letting it destroy/affect other parts of the game is a good way to kill the game entirely. I am sure you are all watching the streamers that focus on Ashes. The message is the same across the board... ASHES IS IN TROUBLE.
Leadership has been quiet... I look forward to hearing from Steven in tomorrow's stream. But I will anticipate that nothing will be mentioned about the current state of Crafting and Resources Spawns. Atleast nothing more than "we are working on it". Heck at this point... you might as well just plan for Phase 3 because the continued silence on the subject has already damaged the server and the community as a whole.
"embrace the suck"
100% agree. I don't know why they haven't even just made a statement. They have broken a core pillar of the test, that has impacted so much. And radio silence. Week after week.
Tomorrow they will
Well that is something at least.
Here is the biggest point to this that I believe escapes even Steven's thoughts and to me is the biggest point that needs to be driven home. "Rollback"... if you deploy a patch that breaks a core function of the game then get that patch backed out. There is undoubtedly going to be a patch in the future that will break something that wasn't foreseen. Just letting a core part of the game fester for weeks telling players the fix will be in the next major update is not a viable plan. Waiting to address a broken core feature because it will "someday" be fixed in a future patch is not the way to approach it.
Especially given they already quickly 'fixed' part of it when they first put out the 3/3/3 processing to start, and then went 'oops' but put it to 1/2/2.
As if that was the real fix needed... as if they hadn't had someone sit down and actually consider what impact that multiplier had on processing for other tiers well in advance of T2 coming online.
The moment that 'fix' went in, you had people still correctly calling out the problem that you'd see downstream for that, when T2 started being accessible. Let alone T3.
Wait in the update today was anything fixed with gathering ? Like copper flax and zinc ??
hell no
well if they will give us free JM benches (without voting and resourse collection) that would be nice. I could suffer another week without artisan update, if we can start crafting JM stuff straight after, because right now it looks like we wont get even half of what was planned for JM benches, partially because of noone willing to invest time/resourses in Jm benches with crafting system as it is now.
Where's all the Flax? Come on GM show me the Flax. My 2 spots have been dead and dry since before last patch, and this patch still nothing.
Not the philosophy here. You are not going to see many rollbacks or complete fixes. It is test the crap out of the entire release and make the changes in the next version, quick and dirty patch everything fast in the existing test, so you keep testing. When the whole thing becomes a mess, roll in your nice clean version with everything fixed properly the best way possible, with extra content and repeat. The problem with the rollback model is that programmers are under time pressure and don't take the time to fix things properly. In theory this way you end up with a better product, that the customer has approved at every stage. Even if they go slightly bonkers with the mess at the end of every sprint/test version.
I did one Agile project in my career, and I effectively retired at the end of it, because it nearly killed me as PM. Successful but damaging.
nice
i bugreported it ofc, but
it's the thought that counts
and scribe pants seem to be bugged too, they cant even be crafted
whats a day to be scribe
It's been bug reported since Phase 1 & they've never fixed it.
scribe pants too?
yup
where can I find willow wood?
Nowhere cause server is down 😇
More seriously, there is no specific place I found some near starter areas or in the deep wilderness. Just avoid desert and tropics since these have different trees.
Shouldn’t this be like kinda a priority you think ?? Ugh
So do you think this is why they haven’t really fixed the copper, flax, zinc situation ?
that sucks I guess I keep seeing braidwood but im not a journeymen yet
Yeah WW is still hunted aggressively but it is still possible to find some here and there.
are there any other apprentice trees or is it just willow?
I'm in an agile project now ... I'm losing hair and my testers are a special breed ... you gotta have a mindset of nothing is broken unless it goes live that way lol
Well the problem is that the customers can't spare anyone good for the entire test, so you get the person they want to get rid of for 6 months. Not the problem here though, we have the best testers ever 🙄 .
But we all don't read the test script... it is all adhoc lol
When crafting equipment does the quality of materials affect the outcome? I found some heroic copper and have no clue if I should take good care of it or not
It does matter, both at processing and crafting now/soon. It will average out quality if you mix it.
So I'll need to find higher quality fuel to avoid reducing the quality when processing
No I think they decided fuel doesn't matter
So I want to try and stockpile enough to make a piece of equipment to maximize the quality of it
Fuel is just fuel, its rarity is not important when processing or crafting
btw to be clear, with current buildings speed we can reach only JM benches in rivrelands if we are lucky, do u guys think same?
meaning we will have only those JMs available
and scribe is useless without alchemy atleast
and without jm weaving we will have no molds (except basic ones from decon) and no threads for bows/leatherworking
idk if it will be possible to craft Anything at JM lvl except with white/green materials from decon
Thats why i am begging for some GM assistance with building at least part of them. I would be so happy to test Alchemy/farming/Cooking/Scribe etc but without some help from outside i think we couldnt reach this JMs in phase2.5(
And i still cope that promised artisan patch will include some talent trees for each artisan which in a way will reduce mats needed for craft/process and thats why interpid doesnt revert last artisan changes
What will you even do once we reach JM Benches? Farm hundres of materials of the same rarity to craft one item?
Artisan is completly fked this phase. The promised fixes and changes get delayed week by week.
I think/cope something is cooking to be ready for big artisan patch that will reduce that material neeeded for crafts, and woudl be cool if we get JM crafting benches with it too
My cope is gone. The latest changes were just insane and never thought through. Then the promised fixes get moved over and over again.
Wasnt "real" Hunting supposed to be there already aswell?
and answering on your question there are realtivly easy Jm recipes right now with bis items
thats about 100g at best if u take rare
maybe less
i can craft sword from friebrand if we got benches for example
i even got scales now
oh it'd only be 70 rare silkworm cocoons. thank goodness.
if we count processing changes which were promised (different rarity materials) you can mix unc silk + epic/leg willow
making it even heroic lvl
"100g at best"...Casually farming 70 rare silkworms 😄 😄 😄
but yes i woudl love if we had jsut reverted processing to 1/1/1 (tech to do that exists since it was reverted to 1/2/2 from 3/3/3)
check message before urs
even with our scuffed server's node progression im pretty sure we'll get jm stations before any real fixes come out for the artisan system.
something we were told about in P2? Like being able to trade tools? Another promised change that gets pushed further and further and just slowly fading into the void
yea i agree with you guys, crafting is core pillar of game and should be number one prio, but i guess them hackers hit pretty bad. Because we had some major changes pretty often prior 5-10 May when we start to encounter speed hacks. I mean they had balls to confirm it at least (i was playing some blizzard games, they cant even confirm all the cheating stuff that going on in D4 for example)
and that doesnt even touch the fact, that crafting is only worth it when you are crafting lvl cap items. Before that 99% of the crafts are utterly useless except Animal Husbandry, Cooking, Scribe and Caravans.
i am coping too much but its just me who started in late february 25, so i can still enjoy game
Yeah I am just super annoyed that I can't to what I started this game for and get a bandaid for my ripped out limbs week for week when "something big is coming NEXT week" week after week
what do you guys think of some sort of petition of giving processing back to 1/1/1 at least untill artisan patch hits?
i think it will help a lot
Intrepid's gonna do what theyre gonna do. It's all part of the process. The only problem in this discord is that some people dont accept that complaining about something is a genuine form of feedback, which is what we're all here for and paid money into.
yea for sure they will but that doesnt stop us from asking about reverting processing changes at least temporally?
If many people will voice that maybe it will work
its been voiced. pretty sure we're all wasting our time even typing about it
well 3/3/3 processing was reverted to 1/2/2 pretty fast, so we have tech to do 1/1/1
the crafting costs were fine last phase, this is all a new self-imposed problem. Gathering was the old issue. Gathering might still be an issue, I wouldnt know because I havent engaged with it all phase because its not fun
so an oak crate costs 55cp to make but the vendor pays 1 cp?
just wait till u do a medium crate
Gathering is still an issue.
You can get "rich" by making Granite Grinding Stones. They sell for 80c each
Can you still buy xp scrolls or no?
That's from Codex, that's not from IG
surely the end of this week? 🥹
What I find hard to believe is they made these crafting changes of 1,2,3 so easily. But won't revert it. They looked at this and said yeah thats good
Like 160 droppings ALONE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST YOULL MAKE THIS OTTER ANGRY
gasps in breath it's okay... it's okay... i'm not a scribe... i'm not a scribe... it doesn't exist if i'm not a scribe...
330 BRAIDWOOOOOD
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Literal cap
The net recipe doesn’t even have droppings in it
What? Yes it does. You need the droppings for the veggies
Click recipe breakdown and then scrolldown
I didn’t know corn used braid wood
Yeah I just looked it up
2 braidwood per chip
I can’t even manage to get one willow tree not sure how your supposed to get 320wood
Yeah, and this is for one scroll that is instantly used up
Let alone having to power level to journeymen
Literally the only way this would work was if thia scroll was infinitely reusable with maybe a cheap recharging system to continue getting crafting exp. That's literally the only way thia kind of hellacious craft tree would work.
for a system that is basically useless
but then you compare a scroll of intelligence to a scroll of strength
and wonder where thing deviates

Speaking of power leveling btw can you still buy any of the artisan gear or scrolls? Rn I’m just grinding with nothing but my axe and pure determination
? didnt you know they hate magic users this phase thats why phys got a 4k power lvl 10 weapons and have 7k health on a mid set of gear
It turns out, you can't just apply a base multiplication to every recipe in the game. Unironically noting this down for my own game dev... this was, a major ouch. Now they have to go back through hundreds of recipes and fix them all so they don't .... do this.
I accidentally "taught" my phone the word thwy. Dammit
Nope.
not just recipes also gear stats waterfall stats in general are 1/3 or 1/4 of the power of a same lvl raw stat gear piece like power rating
Well, base novice shirt.
Where?
Prospective vendors: avon's end west of lions hold, then uh... the Forest(tm) east of samia's hope south of the farm.
Not the ones in nodes?
There's more now that nodes are more built but youll have to look up which one has which building.
I thought I checked the vendors all they had was a bag
Which shirt are you looking for
Lumber jacking/lumbermilling/carpentry
I know for a fact the lumber milling and carpentry vendors both had nothing in there store when I checked
I might just have to buy the carpentry ones at this point it’s not really worth it for the lumber jacking/milling
Oh those might not be available, except lumberjacking is at uh hmm... woodshop vendor... did he rwally not have at least the novice lumberjacking shirt?
(He's northeast of samias hope)
I was looking at the one by joeva
I’ll have to check it again tomorrow
Joeva has 2 apprenticed level milling stations
They have to be specifically named right, not just a vendor by a woodshop
Anyone know of any nodes with the benches to make apprentice lumberjacking tools and apprentice mining tools?
It was carpentry vendor/ lumber milling vendor
Joeva has lumber jacking
Damn. At least I'm already halfway there.
You might just have to check in game, but i'm 80% certain the "woodshop vendor" northeast of samia's hope has the novice lumberjacking shirt. But I'm in shorefoot so that's too long for me to just run over and check
I've got the mats to make blue on both lumberjacking and mining.
I’ll check it later but thanks
now look at JM scroll of wisdom.....
U implying they looked at it?
Ya not 1 person not 1 time looked at that
Some just slammed the send it button and moved on with their day

the paper takes a lot of materials for some reason, dont get me started on saw dust and wood chips
Completely reasonable
it takes 2 cows to make a single stick of butter
it's the ink
yeah the inks are expensive
i still think saw dust and wood chips should be a possible roll on making timber, not 2 willow into 1 willow chip/dust
Is there a patch coming to fix copper and flaxx spawns and other artisan things?
These cows are made in china. They produce very little
Yes - they’re talking about it during todays livestream
oh
thats cause it a luxurious butter stick
i find it funny cause i run past so much copper and flax lol but everyone complain they cant find it and a cubic buttload of zinc
probably not

Just what I was coming to say! 🤣
don't count on it ... It'll be next major update ... Probably 3 weeks away ... 0.13 maybe?
wake me when crafting chances will come
sleep well until P3
nothing can beat farming recipes where u need to spend more than you get and JM enchating scrolls
I give you 1 food.
You give me 100gold.
Fair deal
Yeah artisan is fucked til p3 im not doing anymore testing just to be ignored by devs lmao
That is if they get it right till then.
There are many more problems than the amount of materials needed right now.
The biggest one i see: Only gear worth crafting is the one that is the current max level tier.
Anything else is utterly useless and I am not sure how to work around this tbh
as a Tailor, I sold ALL the things i did to lvl to 10. to me its better than other phases. now Apprentice begin its something else..
Thanks to surplus tokens i literally had to buy 0 items 😄
and accessories you just buy from a vendor
no words about it on stream?
Weeks at best
well thats my biggest concern - when it drops - there will be not enough people to test it - it will have many flaws cuz of that, and when phase 3 will come out - we will have untested economy system. And remember phase 3 is sorta permanent till beta - and it will have untested economical system at start.
u kidding right?
Where is journeymen lumberjacking tools?
So we went from "a week" to "next week" to "next week" to "hopefully during p2.5"? exaggerating a bit here
Yep
Literally all they need to do is make it 1-1-1 while they work on the system they actually want
I don’t understand why this is so hard to understand
🤡 🎪
is there an summary anywhere yet?
embrace the suck is the TLDR
I know I'm taking a pause until this patch but even then not sure if I'll come back. Now that summoner is also delayed, I think people will also hold off on P3 launch
summoner delayed until 2026?
we know they are capable of doing it, they switched it the first week of p2.5 from 321 to 123
I feel Steven is trying to condition us. It was too easy in the beginning, now it is too hard and completely pointless. so when they get the system to an OK point, the usual people who complain about it being to much will be so happy it's not like it is now. I know wishful thinking, but this is all that makes sense to me. Why destroy crafting? How can you not comprehend your own Artisan system? there are 6 grades of Equipment from Common to Legendary. Common should be so common that all equipment should be fairly simple to make and without to much hassle. it's the higher tiers (from Heroic upwards) that should be hard and take time, but it also has to work within the bounds of Leveling.
wow 64 willow for one sandwich?
well said 🙂
who told you this? did you not watch the livestream?
why are you thinking that phase 3 will have this huge decline of testers? are you just speculating?
that was a qestion
i didnt say that. I said that decline will be in mid-late p2.5
i said that we will have not-properly-tested giga-artisan patch
at start of p3
perfect moment to test artisan patch is now, and i think its better to let us have JM benches after artisan patch will drop (even GM-builded)
well yes, when phase 3 rolls around, the part they will need our help and patience on is the new implemention of the HUGE revamp to economy that they have been working on for the past months... we do not have that build yet, so I am sure all of the things currently not working in the current PTR will be fixed in that phase... we will then be transitioning to testing their newly implemented revamp
but Steven did say, yes, they have pushed this to higher priority to fix/test to quicker or sooner than later so we can maybe test it before phase 3
problem is more we wait with that patch - there will be less testers of it
not neccesarily, i know there are a bunch of people that haven't even been apart of this phase that are literally waiting until phase 3 to jump in and start helping.. so we will have the faithful bunch of testers that have stuck around through phase 1/2 as well as the new joiners at phase 3 launch ... there will be plenty of testers to provide them with the necessary data they need to move forward
So just drop it even though it’s not ready and may break everything, yeah that will work 🤪🤪
Is there a hub where I can acquire all lifeskill equipment and try them all?
Id like to try fishing and get into armorcrafting, but I have literally no idea how to get started
let's delay testing a core part of the game during a phase that was added due to delays. Let's instead test this core part of the game during the phase that is supposed to last very long and might fuck shit up just as bad as we we did this phase.... or even worse.
Added bonus? We can alienate our tests alot with this approach.
I really just wish they would be more open about what is going on. The stream was a whole lot of nothing. They did a lot of talking but told us nothing. Specifics would be nice.
you know that you can release changes in increments. there is no need to have a giga patch that brings it all at once.... that will most likely break alot of shit aswell.... cuz big patches tend to break alot of other stuff too.... due du these having so many changes
this phase and all their patches so far were all nothing burgers.
why give us dates/deadlines and set expectations with them when you use delay them anyways without giving proper information about them.
The last few weeks it was always: big economy patch next week. Then the patch is there, you read the patch notes and make a suprise pikachu face because it has no economy changes but also nothing else in it
if they could at least roll back their "nuke Artisan out of the game" changes....
That's what I mean, they nuked it, but why?? what was the thought behind the move? why wont they revert it now? I just don't get why they wont communicate this with us, we are YOUR Testers
Open and honest Developement is what they keep coining and up until now they had been, but now it's just Hush hush. I don't care about delays, they happen, But keep us in the loop of why and what, so we can help accordingly.
they wanted changes cuz people were complaining about some stuff that was utterly shit and unfun - talking about you static rarity and fix soawn timers!
So they just nuked it all and I am 100% certain that some changes were never ever tested - looking at you changes to processing
open development is a nice buzz word you can throw around. people and managers do love their buzz words. Corpo Speak let's go
Well the static spawns and Rarities are a problem. Both Gathering and Processing are the biggest issue with Artisantry.
The problem I see is the belief in Scarcity brings conflict. And for some reason Intrepid have a hard on for PVP in every facet of gameplay
I mean scarcity brings conflict. But you can just make everything or the lowest tier of resources scarce as fuck.
PVP will destroy this game if it isn't balanced with NON pvp elements. If everything is PVP, you will only have PVPers playing the game, Forget your lore (they wont give a crap about it) forget dynamic crafting systems (they don't give a crap about that) Just raw PVP over and over until only a handful of people are left playing. CRAFTER's mostly are not interested in PVP, they will participate but it's not what there are here for. Just as PVPers are mostly not interested in crafting, they participate because they have to. So keeping both types of players interested is important. Make High quality mats Rare (but not too rare) but make the common mats common, so crafters and gathers have something to do, while the lug heads who want to smash heads, keep doing that and get a steady supply of goods from the non violent types. NO PVP MMO can survive on hardcore PVPers. You need your casual and Hardcore Crafters to keep the money flowing
My point, Make High level Heroic and above rare to find, but keep the simple stuff common. the rarity of Mats should also depend on the Teir of the mats, there is no point making Tier 0 mats hard to get of any level of quality if I am going to blow past that level in a day or 2.
Yes. And maybe give people bonus rarity and quantity when they are grandmaster and gather frikin copper or basalt
If you look at everything PvX is clearly the intent of the game, not just PvP. In fact when I read what they have written, that is exactly why we have the delay of phase 3, because progressing levelling adventuring, artisans and nodes, was not balanced. I don't think it is even worth arguing, even though I've argued more than most. Intrepid made a bit of a miscalculation on the gathering/artisan system, they know it, we know it, let's not dwell on it. We need to wait another two weeks for the rewrite, based on today's showcase, so it isn't worth losing any sleep over now.
I'm curious what they mean by starter resources to make starter gear
Aluminum lol??
Finally, i can craft a tinfoil hat.
I laughed too hard at this ... it's late, I need sleep
Glop is love.
bro promote urself in other channel pls, this is about crafting
Something is happening With close town clusters ? Harvested 50 ww wood around miraleth yesterday and 60 around joeva this morning
if only you could do same with tin
Glop cares about the flowers
all the ww i see around town is spawn inside braidwood and cant be harvested cause it try to hit braidwood
Is it safe to say that the only way to grind metalworking are to make these copper and zine frags?
to appren that is
Yes
what is the most cost effective item to craft to level leatherworking at novice?
wait for phase 3
Looks like the algorithm that puts bonus into stone is now puttimg trees in trees
working on carpentry, poorly designed craft. Building the hull of a boat gives the same XP as a small crate? Really?
also, spend a lot of coin to build but 1cp value?
Any bulk heroic tin sellers?
yep
least amount needed to craft is the most effective unfort
makes no sense i agree
Crafting right now is totally broken, economy is destroyed. Without sounding doom and gloom, none of this will be fixed until P3
If then
They will have things to test in p2.5 ... but the economy is beyond repair... however, we can get a good feel for the changes before p3. Hopefully we'll get a better feel for recipes and gatherables in the next few weeks. June 19th update would give us about a month to test. I'll make a couple of alts and see how it'll feel to level to apprentice in most skills
You have a lot of faith they will deliver. It seems their schedule is falling behind quite a bit. Even the summoner is now delayed till after P3 launch.
I didn't say I had faith it'll work haha ... I have faith that they'll get something out there to test. I think they were surprised to learn that the 1:2:2 processing design and clusters were disastrous and now they're scrabbling.
They were pitching patches 0.08-0.10 as the best thing in crafting... it was quite the opposite
I do have faith that they will eventually get there... Agile development is messy and chaotic lol
I think phase 2.5 was the best thing they could have done. they found out what happens when you blindly over tune crafting. Also how hyper inflation affects the economy
im just glad there will be a confirmed wipe for phase 3
I know I'm sounding like a tape loop, but this is one of the advantages of Agile development, everything isn't held up by the economy. There isn't the same type of critical path in the project, that affects the schedule. Obviously the economy cf wasn't desirable, but it isn't the disaster it would have been in a conventional project. Have you noticed how little news we are getting from PTR recently?
Whats the connection you're making with PTR?
why do they make fewer and fewer zones with open pvp in the game? players who love pve will kick out people who love pvp with their whining and then they themselves will go to another project where there will be better lore or boobs, bring back normal pvp, and also why do I turn red for killing a horse or if I died from bleeding when the flag runs out? I hope the developers will make a man's game and not for whiners
Anyone who has eyes knows that jundark was only lawless till the nodes came in, same thing happened in the tropics/desert. They weren't removing pvp zones. Those pvp zones technically should've never existed. If you wanna pvp go flag up. People just don't wanna deal with the consequences of flagging up thus the hate for the removal of the lawless zones that we all knew was temp Till the nodes were added
Is jm lumber jacking built yet?
i think it wont be built, since it planned for shorefoot
Man the PVPers sure are salty, I might feel bad for em but they have proven over the course of the alphas if even given one nice thing for pvp they have to abuse it into the dirt.
Things are happening on PTR that we are not allowed to hear about. That is the potential pipeline. The PTR and most development teams, may well be switched to getting ready for phase 3, not tied to regression fixing/balancing the economy in the P2.5 codeset.
if only there was a way to see what the change for processing would do and if it makes sense.... sadly we don't have the technology for that yet
This is not true for the simple reason that the PTR is only a visually NDA. If anything significant happens, people would have spoken about it.
Those guys on the PTR are on a release to release basis on what they can and cant talk about. If Steven and Intrepid don't want stuff leaked, it wont be leaked.
we can talk about everything on there
just cant show it
Have you switched to 3.0 or are you still testing 2.5?
last test was the 20th and it was just siege stuff
This is just incorrect.
PTR is under Visual NDA not NDA in total. So people can talk about everything that happens in the PTR.
So far PTR is only testing Node Wars, Don't worry you aren't missing out on anything on the PTR
I would recommend you read up on the game you are both playing and TESTING. You have many MANY ways of PVPing. it would be impossible to have nodes in Jundark if they left it Open PVP. PVP players are amongst the most selfish players on every game that has ever died because of it's player base. No Crafter is saying you can't have your PVP. Learn about the game, PVP is everywhere
what specifically were you wanting them to tell you that they didn't deliver on?
Imma just keep my mouth shut. Lol, It wont end well if i get involved.
guys i need some help , im level 11 mining but have no clue how to craft the apprentice pickaxe . brought the blueprint but still cant craft it . oh and ive gone to the guy and been promoted
Just wondering why the change, what the goal was. Krizzoula, don't get me wrong, I am a backer from the day this hit Kickstarter, and I still have a strong hope this game will be amazing, I just feel the communication has gone from clear to vague in the last few months.
do we know if journeyman stone station is up anywhere or what is the hold up on that? where we can make the journeyman pick? @vocal plover do you know?
what does it tell you Bott? have you checked the Mats you have? make sure they are correct etc
yeah got the matts to craft a good one but it only shows the novice one in the crafting
make sure you are at the apprentice mining station and not the novice station
I saw your original post, I am a PVPer as well, don't get it mixed up. I am also someone who has played many many MMOs and been in the Apha of a few and I have seen how the PVP scene can completely destroy a game. There is a lot of PVP in this game, People like Boris just needs to learn read and understand how the game works. What he said is Exactly what happens to games, but not because of PVEers it's because of PVPers.
Yes Grumpy you do have a point for sure, I agree to all you said, and yes this game has HUGE potential and a good backing.. i know there is a lot of technical crap they dont disclose with the community i guess for reasons we dont know about but yea i wish they weren't as vague on some
Where are you Bott? what node are you at?
im in joeva atm
Halcyon has apprentice mining station
Yeah what Dardar said, you need to go to Halcyon
okay so the node has to have the next level to craft that item
correct
ahh thank you guys , appreciate the help
yea just need to know what is the hold up on the journeyman station
you can find what nodes have which station on the Ashes Codex website
Right but you miss the part where PVP'ers are the ones who min max and go for the most effective things available (META) which is obviously your artisans in this game. Saying the pvp community does nothing for a game like this is very ignorant was where I was, but frankly It's not worth the argument in my opinion. As a PvPer, A JM in a variety of different artisans (just waiting on tables), and someone who's touched all the end game I could possibly touch atm, Them taking the lawless area away basically made me not feel like I had anything to do right now. There's no content for me besides sitting in a spot and dpsing mobs for hours and hours and hours on end in hopes that I may see a drop or a recipe.
i guess i just wish there was a communication board or something from mayor to citizens that says like progress of stations upcoming... like this is what we need before we can upgrade or get the better station ya know
Has anyone seen either a Halcyonite Earring or Bone Ring recipe drop?
Starting to think they're bugged
And no, I Can't just take a caravan out, Nobody goes for them. I can't go after a caravan because they either disappear or move faster than I ever intend to. I can't go to the islands and pvp because there's either 100 people or 0 people.
To say pvp is everywhere, is very ignorant.
what isn't bugged at this point
BiS items are drops currently
Oh I understand, one of the reasons the Artisans are up in arms is because crafting has become broken. No one is stopping you guys PVP. The only Lawless zones that were destined for the Full release was the ocean. They made this clear in many videos. PVP is over Nodes, GUILDS, CARAVANS, etc
how much of the world do you need to PVP in??
exactly, no one wants a game where the entire world is PVP!
Caravans are attackec constantly, the problem is people are using exploits to stop getting destroyed. and I see people use the 10s caravan to have mock Group PVP all the time, are you in a Guild?
The absolute state of entitlement from some of these "#bringbackpvp" kids is astounding
Actually Many PVPers do.
i know its just annoying lol
If you're asking me personally, I like going all over to pvp. I like having a big area to pvp in, With different Geometry to navigate or use as a line of sight. I like the variable of not being able to choose my battleground at times. I Like the unpredictability of what it brought to the table.
having a balance is always best and will reach more people
you may want to lead more to games that cater more to strictly PVP's then
you're not asking for balance though, You're simply just saying "Nobody wants a game where the entire world is pvp"
Caravans are slow, the ones moving faster than you are the ones that are using expoits REPORT THEM!
So this one?
I mean that's what I was saying in many words.
yes because balance is always better
NO
This is a game where Risk vs reward is the game.
This is a pvp game.
All your end game activities passed farming gear...Is pvp...
You know my guild used to run Caravans all the time, but because of the PVPers just wanting to smash everyone in the face just for the fun of it and there being no conciquence for being an attacker, we don't run caravans anymore. It isn't the PVEers who have stopped your ability to PVP, the game has become broken because of the Crafting changes, no one wants or can afford to risk anything who want to Craft.
No. It's not. It's a PvX game.
No this is a PVX game
I'm just saying a more balanced world/game that reaches multiple game styles and personalities is always better because it builds a more diverse community base
One doesn't strive without the other
The guy who started this company and his millions and his actions and his team disagree with you. Cool story though.
Right but tell me what you're doing after you're geared?
I'm sorry, Is there progression right now? Is there things going on right now? You have NOTHING to do after you have gear.
Besides get more gear, Or go fight other people with gear.
you're in the artisan channel.. what do you think we're doing?
Nodes, caravans, quests, dork about with the guild, and yes PvP. You know, the whole PvX thing. What I signed up for from the onset where Steven said he was making a PvX game
Complaining because your main gameplay loop is fucked?
Lol
The problem is there is no consequence for being the Bully, being the attacker on Caravans, being a high level 25 player in a zone where most players are lower than 10, etc etc. The only time it becomes an issue is if you become corrupted. and players find ways around that
You're the only one complaining in here
I'M HERE WITH YOU
How is it "fucked"???
I'm making hundreds of gold per week. Doesn't feel fucked
Please do tell me how PVP has been ruined?
If you guys wanna sit here and act like Artisans aren't fucked, Then you're the problem with feedback going towards developers of this game.
Needing an entire forest of weeping willow for some bread is kinda dumb IMO
it's not in a great spot, but it's not "fucked".
Who said Artisans aren't having issues??? I just finished telling you it is
The fact we're a month into the campaign and still don't have JM tables is fucked.
ok did I step into an Alternate Universe?? were you not complaining about PVP?
this dude's crashing out cuz now he needs to craft a war dec scroll to pvp
I'm not crashing out, I stopped playing the game tbh. I don't like where it is right now, But seeing the current discussion leading with "pvpers bring nothing to the table" is where Iwanted to put my input
Node Wars, Guild Wars, Caravan Running, Caravan Attacking, Random PVP, get a caraval, the ocean is Open PVP. There is lore to find out, quests to try and complete (most are still broken haha)
There is So much to do
Please show me where someone said that? The only thing I have seen is Artisans telling PVPers to stop complaining about Jundark turning into what it was supposed to be
bro... you're complaining about pvp in the artisan channel for a game you don't even play... i'd say that's crashing out
Who would have thought you needed people to do more than grind gear to get nodes up and running. Shocking. It’s like it takes teamwork.
As a PVPer if you have nothing to do, then maybe you need to look into what the goal of this game is going to be, because PVP is about the only working system that isn't complete, but is about what it's going to be
PvP puppets wanted mayoral positions for flying mounts. The real purpose is node governance. But, hey flying is cool.
I so wish they would remove the flying mounts and give them gliding mounts instead, Flying should be insanely rare and short owned
Yeah, if mayoral mounts were t flying the PvP herd would not vie for the spots as much
I respectively disagree with it not being fucked
Okay these arguments are getting old. There are no node wars right now, no caravans are being run because the econ is flooded with speed hacked gold so there is no point. "get a caraval and randomly sail the ocean until you find pvp" Give me a break, there is nothing to fight for, nothing to contest. That is what pvp is about contesting things. This isn't some instanced 1 hour battle royal kind of game. Seeing this off the wall throw random darts until something sticks is ridiculous. The same people that dont want to see an open pvp zones are the same ones that are hitting the feedback channel about getting trained, getting their healers slept and not being able to fight back because "they will go corrupt" This is the system that you are shooting for removing POI pvp. You get first hit simulators and mob trains. If that is the game you want on release then GG to you sir.
K.
and NONE of what you are talking about has anything to do with Jundark or Artisans.
This game was never going to have an OPEN PVP locations on land to my knowledge, There are Node, Guild, Caravan, General etc PVP locations. They exist right now and I see Wars happening all the time, I see caravans getting mobbed by people all the time in the world, So I don't understand what you are talking about? Where are you playing?
Not sure what server your on buddy
Well same one as you since there is only one
You are complaining about people exploiting the game, it has nothing to do with Artisan stuff
not a single war
so there has been no wars at all in the last week?
Funny it must have been a bug when New Aela was flashing every 5 seconds get out of Dodge a war is coming if you aren't signed up
and they cost 1k gold to do
oh no 1g for a guild, how hard must that be to earn
1k
are you in a guild?
CLearly not being tracked
is that your proof, a Leaderboard that probably isn't even working
it was working just fine last phase
you do you boo
Watch Flanker, or most of the youtubers they are in constant fights
maybe get out and play the game
you mean when there was a lawless zone? yeah they were
mmmhmmmm
I see the connection
Last time I checked. Riverlands wasn't a lawless zone
I just leveled my hunting to apprentice, where does one go to level it now? what mobs should i be looking for to hunt?
Can upgrade at Winstead or https://ashescodex.com/map?id=6064632202497359875 to Apprentice Hunting
Yes I have leveled it to apprentice
oops mb
Apprentice huntables:
Bork
Crab
Daystrider
Giant Bullywog
Hippo
Midnight Mare
Obsidian Stallion
Raptor
Runic Steed
Otter
Scorpion
Shell of the Ancients
Skinwalker
Tidesnapper
your welcome ;-;
awesome ty
Please make the purchase affordable for the Russian Federation
yo u can get wood from maps, and process it here and craft with carpentry
but you CANT get pocessed wood if you will have axe and no processing
processing>>>axe
because atleast you can get processed wood somehow with such combination
Doesn't matter if we can't chop braidwood really.
axes being built in shorefoot so that bve awhile 😛
Again with this insanely crazy gathering system we have where other things BESIDES actually gathering is the option to get raw materials... deconstruction kits, maps etc...
2.5 is cooked
AGAIN
we can have two ways
- we got JM processing and we dont have JM gathering
treasure maps can give you all kinds of braidwood up to even legendary
so if you spam epic+ maps you eventually can get some wood and process it - we got JM gathering and we dont have JM processing
You got tons of raw wood with no chance to process it.
So in option 1 you have little processed wood, in option two you have zero processed wood
I'm not saying YOU are wrong... I'm saying the design is backwards
IMO... no resource should exist that can't be gathered naturally... how are these things crafted in the first place
Do we have any idea how long out JM husbandry is?
around 1 month, maybe a bit less
This entire phase is a waste of time. Like you said, the design that we get more mats from maps rather then gathering is insanity.. I have no idea how that got past an entire development team
and also half of t3 processed wood is done from t1 wood, some dried oak/western/ash/banyan etc planks
i see it other way - you can get t3 wood even withotu gathering tools, yes there wont be many, but at least you have a chance to get it
About the time for it to wipe lmao 🤣... people have kinda given up on progressing the artisan system
I'm just waiting to test what they come up with before p3... patches 0.08-0.10 were disastrous
Clusters were a cluster to be sure lol
depends if they go JM axes first too :p i dont think we will only see 1 of the benches here hit JM before august :p
Does weeping willow spawn at all in jundark or tropics?
no only coconut and banyan jundark, tropics sometimes get willows leaking in near the boarders though. Tree spawns seem to like expand if there left to long it seems and will occasioanly take dragon tree spawns as willows or braidwood on edge of tropics if there already tree on riverlands side
not sure if expanding trees is a feature or an accident but it cool that tree can expand into other biome when their left alone sometimes :p
Any functional apprentice herbalism station?
I know there is one in Azmaran, i'm not sure where else
Shorefoot
