are both weapons used for stats, even if one is stowed?
like if im hitting 20 soon, should my goal be getting 2 radiant weapons, or just 1 will do
Yes both weapons apply and additive towards your character's total. There's a certain multiplicative in "C" when you hover over your stats. (Gear stats) You'll see this change as you equip weapons regardless which one is on
First noticed this when I first got my lvl 10 weapon. The upgrade overall regardless of weapon I have out was MASSIF
yeah the power jumps are massive
is this how they envision summoner/cleric working
Hello. Was there any official mention of the summoner pinned in any channel? I’m very excited to start playing when this class comes out. Thank you.
Nothing yet, wait from the stream on Friday
Any rangers run shortbow over longbow? Wondering if the finishers like the snares or bleed, and better speed and crit stats shortbows have, is worth the range and power loss from longbow.
Any news we've had is that it'll be coming with the big update
Preference, but I'd choose the bleed
I ask because I found most often the issue is either:
- Trying to chase people down.
- Trying to kite people.
Felt like constant snare stacks would be an effective way to accomplish both. What's the range different between short and longbow?
5 or 6 meters (which is literally the range of Melee weapons)
If it's chasing/debuff you're after, go with the LB.
Crit damage aside, I feel like SB offers far more reasonable DPS. Unless you can like 1 shot someone with the LB. Fail to do this, and you'll get brrrrrt by a wand.
LB doesn't have chasing/debuff tho lol
Actually it has bleeding too, I was wrong.
Especially chilled
By chasing, I mean because of the range
As a cleric I want to build a decent heavy armor magic power set for soloing anyone have any suggestions?
heavy armor with spell longbow spell sword and shield
sets ? as you get it from playing, but thats my basic
bow and not spellbook for solo is cause if u pull, you dont want area
and the sword for fast applying debuffs, ure normally in melee
I don't think there are any heavy armor sets right now besides steelbloom.
For real late game magic armor your best bet is going to be jundark gear at medium.
I've been looking for a magic armor too. I want that chest to be plate as a bard XD
Graveplate has pieces with a mixture of Int, Mag, and healing stats stats on them.
Could anyone give me a link to a good rogue build or guide, about to hit lvl 20
Dang lookin to be that Smite cleric for solo 🙂
Good news though, we'll probably get new gear sets during the Harbingers update!
What radiant gear should I be looking for as a Mage? I know Rosethorn is good but its impossible to get right now. Just looking for something cheap for now
There are two (technically three but not really) choices.
You can either go to the Jundark, or, go to carphin.
Carphin has the Cognoscente set.
Jundark has the Duskhunter set.
The third set is from the desert and is the Sandbastion set. It is a magical heavy armor set.
Pretty much here is how you choose fighter stlye of armor set:
Light from Carphin, has the best stats, you get lots of magical defence, and overall also has the best set bonus. However, it gives you little to know physical defense, so a ranger, fighter, or rogue is going to flatline you in 5s or less and there is nothing you can do about it. Nothing here I can't say other than this is your best choice, assuming you really really like to see number go up, when you aren't getting shanked in the back by a rogue..
Medium from Jundark, is the set where you like to sit on the fence, you're not really situated where you have crazy magic defence, or crazy physical defence, but toes the line. It has a decent set bonus, and the flat 10%-30% bonus you get is also really really nice. Can't go wrong here honestly if you do decide to go for it.
Heavy from Desert, has great stats, if you don't care about doing damage and instead just want to be very very tanky for some reason as a caster.. no kidding the amount of secondary stats this set gives for mag def, phys def and crit evasion are kinda bonkers. But at the same time.. it also doesn't really give you any bonus damage until you actually get the full set at around 7-8 pieces.
Excuse me, there is a set that is heavy armor, it's from the dsert, and it's called the Sandbastion set.
Tank just keeps getting shafted
Tank would benefit extremely if the threat system worked against players. Even if it didn't lock your targetting to them, being able to forcefully drag their tab targetting away from their intended target, to you, would already be a step in the right direct.
Even if it causes the inconvience of having to retarget, it doesn't matter, you dragging their tab targetting away from their intended target could mean the difference between life or death.
is there something weird with melee magical weapons? or does weapon level matter a lot for flat damage
I came here to say Wings of Salvation should act like grapple. For an ability that requires another target to use, the lack of verticality is criminal.
Xoxo Intrepid
Wym and no
so like for example. a magical power spear does no AA damage (if you're a magic user stacking Int), it effectively only acts as a stat stick for a magic user
Is a bug
I guess I just got unlucky then since it seems to affect magical axes also
Tank question. Where is shield at now, in pve leveling but also at higher levels are people using 2H or mace/shield? I'm not clear on what the ideal blocking is for shield. Let's say you have 4 mobs on you at Church or somewhere with a group. If you are being hit repeatedly, how do you decide when to raise the shield?
There is no block only dodgeeeee xD
If you think you wont lose aggro and dodging wont help as much as blocking in that situation and or an ability incoming which you wanna reduce the dmg or when you are getting clapped and blocking gives you extra time to recieve heals/gambit
Ideally you dodge abilities but having multible enemies can make it scuffed or you dont want your grp to get cleaved or something by dodging and moving the enemy
It makes sense. Dodge unless it's too sketchy, which is a lot of times. Block when you have cooldowns instead of just standing there. Can't say I have a feel for it but I will keep blocking when it's a free option rather than doing nothing.
I guess what I want is some que like a ding sound or something so I know I blocked.
Maybe in the future you will see it in the dmg text tho
is sword and board viable on tank?
pretty common
Me waiting for the 30th when i can play the summoner
summoner comes out on the 30th?
Watch the first part of the live stream that happened today
It’s restricted in my country for some reason
Ptr on 9/30
anyone knows what are current viable options for ranger sets/gear?
a shield gives u a passive blockchance. Even if u have ur bow in the hand
This passive block increases ur survivalrate by a lot
Never use 2h unless ur outleveled and got big dick cleric inside of u
bigus dicus
In pve you want the extra armor, fkit even in pvp you do from a shield.
Blocking in pve - if your not busy hitting all your other cool-downs, or dodging, then block, but often auto attacking for mana back is better than blocking also.
You block occasionally (except for the reflect spell of course, spam that) so just fit it in when it works.
I imagine at Raid level / later tiers blocking will have more impact especially on boss fights.
it's probably mentioned somewhere but does anyone know when the secondary archetype is implemented, can we choose it from the beginning? or like lvl 10 or is it a max level kinda think like WoW currently has with the hero specs
Believe 20+
alr thanks
is summoner supposed to be dps? or flex into all roles?
Lvl 25, date unknown somewhen 2026
Dps itself the summons however have flex roles
ahh, the vibe i was getting from the preview was that a summoner could replace a 2nd cleric in a 8 man
probably not tank though but i see what you mean with the summons
We can see next week on ptr
I suspect that Summoner’s design is that base Summoner is DPS with a pet that provides minor tanking or healing/support and that Summoner/Tank and Summoner/Cleric let you specialize properly into them
anyone?
that answers absolutely nothing
bloodrunner gives best stats but it's not craftable due to bugs so how does this help me, i'm asking for options that are working and available and viable
So look for what is craftable?
I don't know all the bugged sets and what's craftable, that's why i am asking
Idk if the toren scout set is craftable but most people would go for it as for accessory crafted steelbloom is not that expensive
5 piece scout 3 bloodrunner for the set bonus
Just wanted to put in something positive about Tank. If you have never played.
I have never played a tank anywhere until this run to level 13 atm. My opinion is that it is fun. Sometimes it's stressful if I get directionally challenged but it might be my favorite Archetype. One ability really does it and that is Charge. Try it when you need to overextend to pick up mobs that normally would cc you, then go full FLASH Gordon back to your group. I was collecting mobs and sprinting back. You can turn while sprinting which is the fun and I will try it in pvp some day.
Most armor recipes and/or tables are currently bugged in some way so almost no one is bothering to try to find what they can make until it is fixed in the next week or so.
As Daven said, Steelbloom for some jewelery and there are some phys/magic specific jewelery out there but that's preference based on materials.
Some weapons are being made but again some recipes are working when they shouldn't be and others aren't working when they should.
Watching, in game, global for what people are selling will probably be the easiest way to tell what can currently be made.
question for rogues, there are bows and mostly shortbows that i saw giving int magic stats, if any of the rogues stacking magic stats can you tell me why, what for, and how does it work for you?
there are magical and physical versions for each weapon type so they are using physical versions (hopefully)
ty cuz most shortbows that i saw, market or otherwise were magic stats
This is because there are almost zero dropped caster weapons and so crafters make a lot more caster weapons to sell. Melee have easy access to The Hawk Bow and Goblin Skinstripper. Casters have no equivalent items.
ty
I can really feel the playerbase getting better. Back in phase 2 like every ranger was facerolling and burning all their mana in 5 seconds and I haven't seen that at all in phase 3
Did they remove early game vendor weapons?? Lvl3-7 ish
Vendor isnt selling any equipment anymore
Copy so it’s all found or crafted or gifted then?
"found"
found yeah. humanoid enemies still drop stuff, just not enough to clog your inventory
Pre radiant I feel has far more drops than radiant. You can actually find an oak/hh/ros/ursine group and get gear. It's wild. As soon as you try to farm radiant gear? Even white base items? Nah, go fuck yourself. Hit a tree or rock for 300 hours for a piece.
wait they removed the basic non starter equipment from the vendors? thats rough, i feel like they shoulda kept the first crappy ones you could buy that are better than the starter stuff and then make everything you get drops / craft after that
Its silly but realistically you can reach lvl 10 in less than 2-3hrs in a semi casual manner, so lvl 1 gear is a meme, crafting that is
Should be either buyable or be intrigated into crafting tutorial start
The way tank is right now, once they add paladin archetype ( tank into cleric) it will be unkillable as they already have good sustainability as is
Others will also gain additonal stuff so who knows and how it will pan out, in the past 10 months the game changed back and forth
I thought it was named something else?
Called big ol bunda now
Gonna be named headache for the amount of them they will cause on release
Valid lol
Is there a way to block and release. The block keybind removes my mouse cursor that I use for pivoting. The block functionality also does this when mounted where the mouse disappears if I hit block. I accidentally hit the keybind because I need the quickest response key to be able to block and my hand squeezes involuntarily from having damage to the hand. Anyone else find themselves blocking and having to look carefully to see if you are stuck in a block or not? I do try to quick block but if done repeatedly it goes into a locked animation.
I don’t see how if you are solo. As a mage without a weapon upgrade I’m literally tickling mobs equal level.
you can do easy quests and such
if you really optimise it you reach lvl 8 within like 30min or so
if you get in a group no one knows how well you parse
1h level 8 with just questing is easiest way i think
and yes solo, i was playing all classess except fighter and it works fine
What quests is there like a guide?!
1h lvl 8 I think is a bit over the top
just main quest in anvil, id suggest dunir route as nikua is not as good
Any suggestions for solo farming at level 9?
if they havent changed the quests that much in the riverlands you can boost pretty quickly doing certain quests while skipping others.
Just looking for some good options for tank gear just about to hit lv 20
i am sorry to inform that there is no gear drops and impossible to craft armor atm due to bugs sir!
I cry
1 hour lvl8 sound about right. Considering you can get your gear and lvl5 in about 30mins and then knock out 4 quest in chuch in about 15mins for about 100k exp.
wdym no gear drops? You can buy on market some 20 level pieces, idk how people get them but they are available still
exacly ;d
They nerfed the rates, you can drop them but its way less now. People are selling gear they had from the high rates at the start of the phase
sure, but still you can get gear
Yes like I said at a way lower rate
It's a low rate but it ain't bad it's a 50 50 like gambling either u get it or u don't
Just grind longer duh
Dented take lmao
I played bdo for 6 years this is all I know .... games just hand you stuff? How do that work idk 🤷♂️ either I p2w or grind for a month to attempt a enhancment at a 0.6 chance ashes grind is nothing ashes low drop rate isn't as big as a problem as people make it out to be this discord and community just full of complaining care bears
Ye sure buff it make it people happy but it won't make em happy they will bitch about the next thing
answer that i was refering to was to someone else because he said there is no gear drops and no crafting, so i dont know what you wanna prove lol
exacly, imagine spending 200hours on one potion xD
is there a way to not autoattack after using Mesmerize other than diasabling autoattack?
there is an option to stop autoattack after using sleep effects and so on but it does not work on all
nvm, got a way
Nothing to prove, you said you don't know how people get them and I said grinding
If the rates were like this from the start then sure, but you could literally grind for less than an hour and get 4-5 lvl 20 gear pieces before the drop rate nerf and now if you go there you barely get 1 in 2-3 hours. So it's not a fair comparison to make realistically.
Mb if you didn't know it was nerfed before tho :p
Its not that people are complaining the rates are low, that's fine, but the disparity is not. People that grinded there before (me included) have a way bigger advantage and it just creates more of a gear gap when some of the gear you can't even craft (when you should be able to) because it's bugged and people sell it for crazy prices lol.
Here a crazy thought. Its an alpha. Doesn't matter if its "fair" just matters if its right at release.
What are you even saying lmao. They need relevant data from said testing to even balance/adjust the game from their own metrics and player feedback.
People camping a spawn and being able to gather all lego mats from lvl 1 and getting a full set of lvl 20 gear within a day isn't going to happen on release so ofc the data collected from the econ and other things will be less valuable than if those were fixed
No shit sherlock. They already know that and are working on it. The data balances wither you get a set of rosa or not. I didn't and im still beating people down that have it. Just get good and move on.
When they need fresh data they will either wipe or create a fresh start server. They know what information they need and what they are working on. You dont
I can't decide between ranger and tank :(
Go tank be a menace.
17 rogue, i havent seen my sleep dart actually hit anyone yet. Everyones somehow immune skill issue probably but would appreciate a tip how to actually make it work…
are you trying it against players?
CC is currently bugged in lawless zones. Almost everything is immuned.
Yes
I see
Now that you said, i actually havent been cc’d myself.. 🧐
You cant cc people who arent flagged but that being said its buggy as well as Momir already said
I mean during the fight in lawless pvp zone
If people have their settings enabled so that they don’t need to force flag to engage in pvp you can’t cc them
Been a thing since the start of this phase, hopefully it get patched soon
Dude in a lawless pvp zone where im in a mid fight with a player, what flags or settings are we talking about, we about to kill each other mid fight in a lawless pvp zone
When youre in lawless youre auto flagged arent you?
?
you are purple, to hit people you still need to "alt f" (force flag however you call it) or have specific settings allowing you to hit combattant without force flagging
So you saying if im purple and the guy who walks inside the pvp zone gets automatically purple i have to alt+f to force flag on a player who automatically is flagged because he walked inside the pvp zone?
Im trying to make you understand that there is a difference between being purple(combatant) and being force flagged (able to attack people) you can be one without being the other yes
Fighter would feel so much smoother if short cast abilities didn't interrupt the combo of auto attacks. Canceling the individual auto is fine but, even good, but having to restart the combo feels off.
Weaving abilities between autos shouldn't be punished, imo.
The current rotations of :
Using all your abilities => Using 4 autos
Isn't engaging. The abilities are, the autos aren't. Allowing to weave abilities between autos would make it a lot more dynamic.
the fact that it needs an explanation, which changes every phase underlies the problem.
you use autos to get momentum back up and also you can apply the buffs from the top row which are actually very strong for your next abilities when your cds are down you do brutal cleave into autos into brutal cleave to get your momentum back up
feels pretty good actually
What feels bad is that the autos are just something you let happen while your abilites are down instead of an active part of the gameplay. It is effectively downtime in engagement.
If you could weave abilities between autos without losing your combo, you'd have everything you just mentionned, and you'd also get to actively do it instead of it being a passive thing that just happens
not if you want to apply the buffs before you engage which is only relevant in pvp really
thats not what they want to do
I don't understand what you mean.
they dont want classes to be able to weave auto attacks inbetween stuff
That's a shame
auto attacks are strong on its own and again applys strong buffs/debuffs after a full combo
if you could weave them it would create an inbalance
Yes, but if you could actively use them instead of letting the whole combo happen, it'd be a lot more engaging
The rotation right now is active (abilities) => passive (autos) => active (abilities) => passive (autos)
As a general rule, more activity and engagement is preferable
Why so? You can balance around that
you can do that and you should sometimes
Rogues can
if you have a ranger for example shooting someone barrage, savlo with autos inbetween as soon youd finish your combos to get bullseye you could immediately cast it into a headshot after peppering the target low enough
would be broken
bullseye/heartseeker that is
Balance around it, then
or maybe just leave it as it is now lol
It feels awful
for you
Fair. They'd need to make a survey, but based on basically every game released in the past 20+ years, players like to do things more than they like to have things happening
they dont need to do anything, you can make a feedback thread if you want
I said "They would need to", as in "They would need to make it a survey in order to know what the playerbase preference is"
Is English your first language?
it still applies lol
I wanted to make that yeah, but where can I make such a thread?
No, it's a language barrier thing, no worries
#1365494991509782558 good luck champ
A fitting character.
Thanks.
(still applies, it was a general statement)
Lot of opinions but in this discord so far I only seen 1 dude put his opinions on paper and make something....js
when does the summoner release?
Hey I am new and majorly confused about gearing up essentially for when I hit 25
I am going rogue and just looking to pvp and have some fun but I 0 fundamental knowledge of the gear and what I need to be doing to get gear alter on
it seems you can craft it seems you can grind, but there are sets, and idek
if nothing changes november patch
how do you know what stats ur archetype needs to get stronger
try to look for the individual stats and what they do, when you get gear if you wanna learn more about sets and so on try ashescodex though bear in mind its not all correct
like for example a ranger would get dex? but why
all abilities scale % with power, magic power, physic power
if you hover over str/int/dex/wisdom you see what these stats give
hmm
im not understanding or its not clicking for me tho
like why would a ranger use a bow over a wand for example
if he can just build a bunch of armor with a wand
right right i see that, but so do ranger abilities only do phys power? that's why you would build str or dex?
oaky gotcha
so now when that comes to gear
later on I want to craft gear that would give dex/str for my rogue
pretty much yes, there is also substats which do the same thing basically
for example when I press P and look at all the recipes, is that all the gear in the game that I can craft?
like crit chance or crit power
its exist in the game but does not mean you can craft right now
because workbenches not being build yet or being bugged
gotcha, bloodrunner set for example
i can buy that in PTR but
i dont see it in the P tab
idk about individual pieces, best bet is rosarium set for you it should be quite cheap to buy
its from steel bloom which is farmed alot
gotcha
interesting so
some gear doesnt say it has dex
but it has like phys power crit power
wtf
for example this piece
is this 163 con + the 3 below
or the 163 con is equal to those stats
no those are the extra stats
wtff
so how do u know if u should get gear with str and dex or with all the substats
id say play the game and try to get an understanding, honestly its quite a rabbithole esp since there are diminished returns on stats
just bought the A2 package and was gonna start 1st toon. What class is best for soloing?
conventional wisdom says bard or rogue. To me bard doesn't seem great at it, so I'd go rogue
Hover over the base stats to see what they add to. Constitution adds to several stats. Then decide what your playstyle is going to be. As a future tank/tank I will be maxing Constitution, Block Amount/Chance, Defense, Health Regen. Taking no damage is always great especially when you can passively regen the hits you don't avoid. For a Cleric or a Mage you might aim for Intel/Power & Mana Regen.
So does attack speed stats reduce the skill casting time?
Someone told me that it increases your auto attack.
They have some nice food buffs out now that add +1.5k to several stats. Would be agood way to test your curiousity before comitting to a build.
its focused around group play , when i last played way way back bard / cleric was good for decent solo play due to survivability , rogue from what ive played super early game allows for solo play as well but someone more upto date with how the game plays would be able give more info. all of the classes can somewhat solo stuff but other do better than some. just find a class you like and work from that. most of the content atm is group based so will be looking for groups most of the time unless casually killing stuff
Cleric and bard are good due to survivability. The fighter is the best solo content dps class for sure. Soloing on my rogue is not nearly as easy as it is with the fighter.
However im finding rogue much easier in the open world for survival. If i make a bad pull, I can get away. If I need to sneak past mobs I can do. I can solo mobs equal level of 1 and 2 stars and finish on 100%HP most of the time to minimise downtime.
However fighter is easier to play, just smash a few aoe skills and job done 😜
I'd pick rogue for most things. Fighter can aoe grind better, but rogue can do it all and more.
yeah I agree rogue can get away
rogue can not aoe grind
Yeah, I've tried to aoe grind with rogue using the throw ability and a greatsword, its not ideal. But being able to take down 1 🌟 mobs one after another makes up for it 🙂
yeah one mob at a time it can do
whats the best way to lvl up weaponsmithing to apprentice?? what do i craft?
shield => deconstruct kit loop
how does echo work on the spell book? i dont see any extra dmg number when i use an ability within the time limit
#NerdRanger
I solo grind on bard for gold is pretty solid
Hey guys, how can I gear up my tank without spending 180g for rosarium guard armor which doesnt drop anymore?
Only way is crafting?
Craft, farm gold, farm pois with low drop chances
farming gold as a tank really sucks ngl
I might just become a gatherer
yea do tradepacks or caravans if you are bold
was it even fixed
It was. The thing is it is suspectible to miss chance from now
oh thing i saw with hook that it was a teleport now and getting hooked by a tank is the most visual aids ive seen

Yes it feels awful. Completely disoriented at times
Man I hope they buff artisan gear and nerf artisan foods :/
question, has it been confirmed phys attack speed only affects phys charge up abilities or does it affect how quick the animations are done
Stick to greatsword
Daggers are ass
Guys is that true is not worth to go over 220 mag power? In some mage guide i did read that.
what about axes?:c
Do Tanks at high level of play carry shields or go for two handers?
A guide that dated from when ? In this phase you get over 280 with decent weapons and basic stuff so i doubt this guide is up to date
Maybe it was old one, or incotrect. What number should I aim for as a mage? Is there some kind of soft cap? Or as much as I can?
With the short term gear plan i have i go up to around 310mp 45% crit but i don’t really know im just experimenting
ChatGPT gives this answer:
System design (official wiki / dev notes): AoC’s “waterfall” stat system uses diminishing returns / DR breakpoints rather than a single hard cap for most combat stats. In short: you can keep stacking Magical Power, but each incremental point gives less benefit the higher you go.
ashesofcreation.wiki
Community measurements: Several community guides and testers (guild/blog guides) report a “sweet spot” for Mag Power where benefits fall off — many recommend targeting ~220–230 MP and note returns feel negligible by ~250 in their tests. Those are third-party observations and depend on patch state and the exact formula used on the server tested.
The question is, if it is correct for current version too...

for pve or pvp? Pve 100% shield
For both. Got to level 20 without using the Block keybinding pretty much, relying on interrupts and dodges. I wonder if I can keep doing even against the big baddies of Forge for example.
PvP I suppose a big 2 hander would be better
You know the shield itself gives you a blockchance passively?
You dont need to block a lot, but the passive itself is mandatory in pve
Was tanking in Forge last night with a two hander, it was fine with 2-3 mobs. Shield would probably be more desirable depending on how many mobs you have beating on you at the same time, but in Forge, the mobs are more spaced out than say Carphin. The passive block is nice for mitigating a good amount of the small hits, still best to avoid what can be avoided (sidestep ground slam/fire breath, dodge mob corpse explosions etc)
To the bards ;Counterpoint Melody allows me to have 2 melodies at the same time.
Does it mean i get both Resonant weapon procs? Or only the main one?
no, just the active melody R proc. You only ge the "passive" bonus from the other melody
#NerfRanger
@glass onyx are you one of the 2 people who think summoner is OP?
Commenting a picture of yourself as response probably means yes
kids still ragebaiting these days huh
crazy that people actually belive summoner is strong/op
especially the damage part :'D
Didn’t Intrepid say they thought Summoner was overtuned and would have its damage nerfed
Yep
They consider it heavily overtuned
Glad there are a bunch of testers to give feedback on it tho
I dont think the damage itself is the overtuned part
Just from my experience its just generally overtuned in all directions, it shouldnt be able to solo pve what takes others 3
I saw you begging for duels on ptr so i guess you only look into 1v1 and i have no doubt summoner is not great in duels :)
It's bad in group pve and pvp too.
Wouldnt say its bad in grp pve, but it certainly is op in solo pve
It has some very op abilities like vanishing for 5 seconds while most of the kit is bad
Ya, it's strong in solo pve but any summoner will always be
Too bad we have no dps meter on ptr
apparently there is a 3rd party overlay with one
Ah i guess something which reads combat log
No idea
I might have not tested it enough in grp play tho, so i cant say much about that, just purely solo pve
We've done a few sieges with them and they were very underwhelming. The silence from the void doesn't reapply once you cc removed it making it pretty blegh
#NerfRanger
Oh wow the silence not reapplying sucks
Yeah, the entire class is pretty much like that once you look deeper into it
The only broken thing is the summon abilities having no cooldown and the summon ignoring LoS with attacks which seems more like a bug to me than anything else
And even with the summon abilities having no cooldown the damage is pretty blegh, just the potential to spam cc is crazy
probaly better than fighters though :p hehe
Summoners can be annoying to prevent rogues restealthimg stealthing it seems though with there dots, i know as a fighter i cant realy do anything to stop that since i have 0 range aoes that can hit stealth (except a long CD leap that i may of needed to use), fighters got a bit gutted i think this version of the game with reduced players dmg since there entire sustain is based on doing dmg and there momentuim to slow to build too
Any Bards around?
I’d like to discuss Counterpoint vs. Crescendo in group PvP.
From my experience, running pure Cheerful or Menacing Melody with Crescendo usually benefits the group more — as long as I’m not interrupted often. After 20 seconds of channeling, I can reach the full +50% melody effect again.
However, as rogues get better at their backline harassment role, I’m getting interrupted much more frequently. That makes Crescendo far less effective, and the short 2-second buff often drops from the group.
In contrast, Counterpoint offers a much longer group buff (up to 25 seconds), which seems more reliable under heavy pressure. So I’m considering Menacing + Cathartic or Menacing + Cheerful as potential alternatives.
What’s your take on this?
I am a bard, but not a PvPer. That said, I love Counterpoint and hate getting my melody interrupted, so I'd probably go with Counterpoint myself. Depending on team comp, maybe roll Menacing with Epic to help your frontline chase and stick, and cleanse CC with your Epic Resonant finishers if that's a problem. But again, not a PvPer, so I'm just talking out my ass here
I just want to play a necro
turns out blind can cause blood fusion to miss on you 😄
The big problem with counterpoint imo is that it does not allow for harmony or dissonance on both songs. It considers only the most recent one as active, and that weakens the choice. I do think the pvp consideration is interesting, but I never find pvp in this game so I can’t comment
I tried this also hoping this would work, if they fixed it and made it for harmony to sync with both, or dissonance to do so then itd be worth running i believe. Certainly allows for more interesting builds and a higher skill ceiling. Maybe these are the kind of changes we'd expect to see with secondary archetypes i.e bard+bard would get this as an option. Like id expect rogue+rogue to be able to double poisons (currently they cab only do one poison as they share a cd. Could be removed for rogue/rogue)
I only had much pvp on ptr fights, as a cleric, and I hate that every bard i ever met ever uses menacing/epic/ cheer
Even with 24/7 mana salve on cd use, im always oom.
And no im not using flesh cure
Where are the mana bards in pvp :(
This said, on my bard i run counterpoint in PvE, and also would do it in pvp, but purely cuz i would switch between menacing and penive, to get mana resonance procs for my poor clerics.
Only usable with longbow anyways, unless you want to get grappled while proccing resonance stacks
usually pvp fights dont last long enough to enter a true OOM phase, having your blessed weapon on someone you know will get atleast a finisher every 15 sec to keep your buff alive is enough in most cases, otherwise if you're playing with the same bard over and over again, he shoul use single target hymn more often on you - pensive is mostly for longer bigger fights (16+ vs 16+) and less reliable on 8v8's so far
Yea its just my nieche experience of ptr node sieges, with bad group compositions.
I can imagine in proper pvp fights it wont be such a problem
So i only experienced 50v50s really
understandable, experience on PTR will differ from "real gameplay" as some people (not everyone, but im included) hop into tests while also doing it on classes they usually do not main or have that much knowledge of, so you're likely to find more inexperienced people on their classes
This
Had a conversation the other day with someone who claimed that TTK is terrible
I was like "Huh?" and he replied that TTK is terrible on the PT, because people are getting killed with 2 shots in 1v1s
On live servers, however, TTK is in a pretty good spot, I'd probably even say in the best spot ever. Additionally, the game is primarily balanced around 8v8, not 1v1.
So yeah, PTR experience may be different from the experience on the live server
I see your point. However, I’d argue that Counterpoint actually offers better Dissonance and Harmony effectiveness, since you get two CDs to trigger the effect. You just need to synchronize the use of your relevant skills with the uptime of the corresponding melody.
In contrast, with Crescendo, you usually only have one melody that triggers your chosen Song Mastery effect. (I’m aware that technically you can have two melodies with Crescendo and make it work, but that’s not the case for most bards.)
Personally, I’d prefer Resonant Weapon to interact with Counterpoint — allowing it to proc the effects of both melodies I currently have buffs from (only counting my own buffs) when performing Weapon Finishers. That alone would probably make the Bard a bit overpowered, but Intrepid could easily balance it by designing the effects with reduced potency. That would really open up new possibilities and make the Bard a true hybrid. Four out of five melodies (with the exception of Cathartic) rely on Resonant Weapon procs to perform effectively.
unless ur a fighter since ur entire sustain is based on lifesteal and u hit other players like a wet noodle so u get like no healing during ur bloodfusion now 😄 😛
Yes resonant weapon is the other question for me
I think the summoners summons should look less bright and shiny. What i’ve seen in the preview feels like a summoner-cleric, but not a pure summoner. im only talking visuals, the skillset seems fine.
Healing is fine, its the sticking onto the target thats the hard part
true that lunging assult doesnt have the range to close the gap fro a dodge or dodge skill too it like 1-2m short in most situations for that
momentum gain realy slow in pvp too i find
Yeah everybody complains about momentum in pvp. It should be gained when taking dmg imo
it definetly need somehting or if hitting player it gain more momentum than mobs but atm fight will typicaly be over before u hit like 30 momentum haha
you can get some momentum on a good cleric or tank 😄
i do enjoy the fighter and i dont tend to play melee classes but it just need some help in area's it seems
I'd give fighter momentum gain on dmg taken(and cap it so it cant be more than 2-3/s) and switch stances to be off gcd like fusion
Will give us some extra skill expression
momentum/sticky on people probaly the main issues, ohh and stance swapping should be like bloodfushion u can cast it independantly from other skills
also melee weapon skills tree probaly need a buff too most people just sit on range skill tree it seems from what i see
Becasue you keep attacking
i feel we see some balancing/tweaks happen with the next major milestone after the 18th nov, i think skill tree rework will problay be milestone 2 with the passive skill tree and thign we say with the cleric cneak peak of it
good swordmaster swiftness proc is a lot
its realy hard to get a full combo off and when u do get it off half the time it doesnt proc cause u didnt pass ur 55% roll on being deadly finisher :p
or axe with double +15% dmg bonus, if you can melee finisher someone with that; he dead
i honostly think they should remove 1 attack from the weapon combo for melee
thats why i run with this xd
so do i and i run axes too but it stupidly hard to get a weapon combo off on anyone but a cleric trying to heal themselfs
And its almost always up after full combo
and then half the time it like nope no buff for u 😛
true
But thats what i focus
healers 😄
the procs either need to be garanteed or they need to reduce the amount of swing in a combo so it actualy possible to trigger them reliably to a degree
Tbh I would just remove this from the game
i do mostly solo pvp atm, tanks u can only kill via drowning :p the rest u can win it just depend if u get the proc off or not alot of the time
just extend lunging assult by 2 m then it dodge range again
tbh u should only get 1 skill point in the stamina tree every 3 levels so u can only realy do one stamina line
that could work
unlocking sprint/dodge and block lines is to much :p
but everyone maybe except tank would just run the extended dodge anyway
i figure they would expand the tree alot more so there choices down the line but atm they should five a third of the skill points they do now for that
i believe its stronger than cc avoidance on sprint
i got lunging assult as a replacement to it
instead of +50%ing it
its 50% just comfirmed it
they need to just giuve fighter lunging assult a apassive that increases range by 50% of it 😛
maybe im over-exaggerating but it the dodge is so much longer
its not im playing around with it riught now
thats the difference
can just put ur back against a wall dodge forward put a marker down then untick the passive save and do it again and measure difference, dodge animations same time it seems so it does feel alot faster cause ur doing the animation quicker to make up for distance
Hello, when we can expect summoner archtype on AoC website!??
Probably not until November when it is expected to go live
Hi All!, just signed up and am curious what sort of Archetype you would suggest to a newbie. The last MMOs I have played are UO, Stars Reach and stuff like Eve. I do not have the reflexes I used to lol, any advice is appreciated!
i like ure games, play still UO too...
and for reflexes... im an old man now, when im in the flow, i can still play everything 🙂
Char that u like all the time is another stuff and the archetype depends on ure playstyle
i dont play fighters, rogues and archers myself, just tested
mine is cleric, sometimes i play it as healer, sometimes as tank and sometimes as rogue with circle around enemies, especially hard ones
I gravitate towards magicky guys
Mage and Bard are good if you want to stay back. If you can deal with melee Fighter or rogue. If you are focusing on group content then do healer or tank always need more;
but bard needs reflexes and situational gaming, tank is a good choice here too, you can solo a lot and u are needed in groups
depends on ure playstyle, im more the solo atm
#NerfRanger
Oh that is easy just ban all rangers then no one would play it
#nerfeveryone 😛 make it so u get 1 stamina skill point every 3 levels so you can only take 1 and a bit stamina lines not everything :p
Solo Bard and Cleric has another plus... if ure not an ahole, you help people around you when they are in trouble and dont let them die because YOU want to farm...
you get help if ure in trouble too 🙂
nice, the clown uses a clown emote
for us bards can i get a pro and con on these bows?
I enjoy doing a heal bard more than anything so im leaning for the sunfire. But the glorybound has a bunch more dmg/survivability it seams.
Glorybound 100%.
More power / int makes up for the healing power alone.
Everything else is just bonus
even after the int neft with healing?
With the summoner, is there any news on updating any other class skill trees? Mage and fighter seem outdated compared to Rogue.
Also any word on when staff will be out, or any other new weapons?
They’ll be getting updates. We don’t know when or what kind besides an early cleric show off they did on stream months back
Lads I’m about to draft ranged wep.
I’m playing fighter I’m toying with either glory bound short bow or NS long.
I really enjoy running people down and LB always just seems like it slows me down a little too much. Any feedback from fighters on how they find both ?
personaly shortbow imo since it can actualy build momentum compared to every other range weapon 😛 wand the other range weapon that build momentum at a decent speed, shortbow gets momentum quicker which then give more speed buff wwith the green stance so u can run them down while bowing them down.
biggest issue i find with fighter is momentum gain when it comes to pvp and the reliance on having a momentum bar full is quite high
Longbow in general seems to be a whole lot of bait. Sure it’s got the longest range… but the speed is really slow snd it feels like you really lose out alot more than you gain.
Steven said intention is summoner --> updates ---> 2nd archetype
im guessing milestone 2 will be new skill tree that they showed the cleric off early for all classes and then milestone 3 will be level cap bump and secondary starting to come online
Sorry realized it was nda channel. This is a link to the conversation for anyone with access.
bard songs are broke atm just heads up. canceling out of combat while still appearing active. some cancel right away sometimes canceling after channel complete sometimes going little longer then channel and then turning off, either way. if your playing bard watch your buff bars cause ring maybe on but the buff could be off
seems likei was right about that being mile stone 2 😄 hopefully im right on level cap on mile stone 3 or 4 :p kinda hoping we get artisan skill tree around then too but doubt it 🙁
I know it's under visual NDA< but based on current testing, do y'all think summoner will be a viable healer?
I realize it won't be as strong as clerics, but I love classes in MMOs that CAN be healers if you're good
Better then cleric lol. Cleric is just rez bot. Bard is superior healer
HI, i tried most classes to get a feel for it and i can't decide which one i prefer, so maybe someone can help me ! I wonder what class might be the best for some solo activity as well as party content.
Fighter
Does it have a form of self heal? And is it needed for group content?
Half? If you mean have yes hence its the best suited to solo farm not that others cant but fighter is just the best at it
If ur looking for named solo farm with difficult mobs then bard or cleric even
ok thanks alot ! 🙂 might go for fighter or cleric then 🙂
But soon summoner is put (hopefully) then its prob top notch solo class
But it looked broken in almost every aspect anyway
yeah it looks cool will try it once it's live
Hi guys I’m wondering whether I am better off being a rogue/fighter or a fighter/rogue, I want a sneaky solo content character, ik soloing is hard in this game but I like it 😊
Or if there are any other suggestions I’m happy to hear it!
Second arcetypes are not in the game yet, check in in 6 months or a year XD
Oh I didn’t even realise lolll
Guess I’ll just level both a fighter and see which playstyle I prefer lol
Yeah the secondary archetype will just add like new "vibes" to the primary. So see which of the vibes you like the best
What’s everyone’s favorite summoner pet?
Mystic looks cool ngl.
I forget, when are we looking at getting the summoner?
no clue
Given the problems with Summoner on PTR at the moment I’d be surprised if it made it to live on the 18th. Maybe the 0.17 update will help buy some time to get the big patch working well. Take some more time and get it as close to right as possible given half the server will be Summoners for the first few weeks
Save summoner to bring people back after the inevitable issues we will face with harbinger and econ changes
yea right
when wipe?
none announced and tbh it to soon to think about one yet it do more dmg than good i think if they do one this year
I mean.. Static rarity seems to be fixed. But they need to fix duping and shit too. Then a material wipe should at the least be considered.
who is the better pvp'er tank or fighjer in small scale
generelly tank, as it gives setup while fighter needs setup but both have value
Fighter is intense though, and with the right personality you can do really good as a fighter... I had some insane PvP scenarios with my fighter when servers where fresh.. Bounced between people without remotely being close to dying.
tank is just a wet noodle that survives.
what does intense even mean
"tank is just a wet noodle that survives." is the craziest undersell
I guess it all depends who is behinds the wheels right? I leveled a tank and fighter to max in parallell and just found PvP more effective on the fighter. But that could just be me 🙂
What do you even mean?
thats subjective rather then objective which sure can be true, but objectively speaking tank offers way better utility and setup
fighter can create lots of pressure and damage though
but survive ability is pretty mild with only blood fusion
but i can say having played fighter and cleric that if a fighter just goes in and a cleric just wings into him you can create lots of havoc
people do not expect these types of plays at all
so like i said needs setup
I mean all classes have merrit I guess. But it is also about who plays them.. I have played every class at 25 except ranger/rogue and I do consideranly better in PvP with Mage and fighter. Utilizing the high mobility for survivabiltiy is also a way.. Whereas the tank, cleric is more... a stone... Bard I got mixed feelings about in PVP even though the class is considered super strong.. ^.^
I had a main tank in my previous guild who said it nicely.. A good tanks purpose is not to kill, just be as annoying as possible and be "in your face" all the time.
tanks absolutely can kill, tanks are quite strong in pvp, ill talk only objectively as i dont know the guy so obv idk what suits him better. i wont dismiss fighter like a lot of other people, but if you compare their value tank ones is just higher that being said a guy playing very well on fighter has more value than a guy who plays okayish on tank that should be obvious
also bard is the most op class in the game
Maybe in a 1 vs 1 scenario.. After doing countless skirmishes and small scale PvP Bard is just a utility bot..
that is inherently wrong
no matter the size, bard is and will remain the strongest class
til maybe summoner is out which it looked like the new most op one but it got nerfed on ptr so i heard
nimble dance alone makes bard stupid op
Rogue is the strongest 1v1 class btw
Sigh.. 😛 it's not wrong just because you say so, but I see there is no reason to debate you..
And yes summoner is overtuned, they even said so when we tested it. Nimble dance does not make bard op, it makes it viable.. why else would you bring him
Its wrong because its wrong, its not really a matter if i say so but because it is so
Rogue master race
Tank master race now. Unkillable demons.
i mean it all depends on skill of whos palying what. i watched a bard 1v6. was the bard high skill on the class or were the 6 low skill on thier classes.
True.. I mean. back in wow classic I remember being able to do 1 vs 6 as a mage. did that make me good ,or them bad ( hint, they where bad).
I mean I was top 200 pally so I can't talk xD it took a nose dive for me after cata. I popped in from time to time through mist and legion but meh
Is rosarium set on rogue shit?
I wouldn't call it shit. It's better than what i'm wearing but not my ideal set for sure.
😄 good times
Best opti for ranger, short or longbow?
most tend to go longbow having extra range is usualy quite big
if you have a timemachine to p2 its shortbow, good times
purple name recommends one thing, generally best for you to do the opposite
Thx 😉

The Harry Potter: Complete 8-Film Collection is available on Blu-ray and Digital now.
SU...
When even does summoner come out I thought it was supposed to be this month?
Mid november if not delayed
This game needs dmg meters to thrive.
How is cleric? Have not played since alpha launch. I love healing but last time I played there was not really any group content to warrant it so I ended up playing bard. Any tips appreciated.
I love it, revamp may be soon, but at a first pass, feels great.
Pretty basic. Plays pretty well and is obviously needed but lacks depth for the most part. Hopefully with a rework and 2nd class combos it’ll be a lot more fun
Any bard mains that can help me out on a general build / weapon for getting started? What should I use when solo farming vs what should I use in a group when supporting
Had the game for a while now but just now starting a character
man, there is a very indepth guide on the youtubez.. need to dig it up for you.. it's, of course, older, but really gets into theory crafting for bard all on your lonesome..
I seen a couple but seen they were older, I assume things have changed since then. So thought id ask, Or are they generally the same?

This is almost everything you need to know about Bard and let me know if you have any questions or i missed something, to see how i fight vs others You can watch the other vods i have uploaded and you can ...
This one seems pretty decent yeah? Looks like he uses wand
Last I messed around everyone was using short bow with bleed or something
Atash 👍, if you wanna talk to him irl lmk.
We also have EU bards that are really f'in good
Commented on the video to see how he specs his weapons and which he recommends for solo and group play
Weapon options are really wand/book/longbow. Longbow for zvz and wound, good vs light armor as it deals phys scaling with your mag power. Wand best quick burst/pressure and general use, counters acadira wearers.
Book good for splash and big hits. Both book and longbow for most zvz, wand for most small scale and pve content. Book if your cleaving.
For melee its really whichever gives you the best stats, greatsword usually. But look for mag power/power double ups. You will get use out of it for cleave and pve aoe but its mostly a stat stick.
Bard has enough survivability baseline you dont really want to take the power hit of a 1h shield combo
As for skill build, hard to really comment in depth here, but the essence of it is get used to respeccing constantly. Bard is great due to ita adaptability you will learn different kits that will also evolve in efficacy as your power scales. For instance at high power you can easily run tripple blue face and saga and single target hymn for mana with menacing melody to still proc res damage. At low power you may need to run mana melody still
Heal bard also really comes online with more power, but is kind of junky at low power (its good for supporting clerics, but at high power you can actually really solo heal)
Your best to find someone in game tp run you through the different kits its a lot talk about here
@heady fossil
There, I summoned him for you.
Appreciate the detailed response, Thanks 🙂
Thanks, he actually responded to my Youtube comment. Appreciate you helping 🙂
@heady fossil is one of my best and one of Ashes best.
Good player and a good dude
@wheat gorge

Cant dismiss summon while on mount. I feel like that should be a thing
Otherwise controlling it no but dismiss
oh clicked moved to location button while mounted. Cant get the circle to go away now
clicking it again does but not escape
and more is such a powerful spell
Just gimme a1 black hole thingy ty
bruh just give us Anything at this point
Mage used to have other spells in A1. They’ve been removed for reasons
Very possible they get added back in for higher level stuff/as augmented spells, etc
think they said those spell got shifted to a higher level at some stage so they probaly be making a come back when level cap increases
started a new tank for over the weekend, and started up north (in what i'm assuming is the dwarven lands). Following the quests and it leads me into mines with some 2 star lvl 3-4 guys inside. I've been grinding for a while, and am lvl 8, and still cannot even get close to downing one of these guys. Is this normal tank issues (cause i can kill everything else easily, including the 2 star rock elementals), or am I missing something?
Pretty much yes. The scale of monster strength is something like:
0 star, you can kill solo and somewhat under their level.
1 star, harder to solo and often need to be close to level or above depending on Archetype.
2 star, need a small to medium party if similar/above in level or full 8 person party if under leveled.
3-4 star, need a full party and can't be too far away in level. There are some weird outliers in mob vs Archetype(Rogue/Cleric/Bard) that people can solo/duo them but that's not intended unless overleveled or way over geared.
5 star, raid needed(40 ish people).
I thought we were supposed to have the Summoner now?
its on ptr
im killing lvl 25 2 star mobs wearing nothing but helm, pants and boots and 2 weapons on a fighter 😛 mobs hit like wet noodles atm on ptr
Summoner will be available on Dec 11th
oof >.< what happened to this month 🙁
Harbringers, Summoner, and the rest of the patch got moved to Dec 11th instead of Nov 18th along with A2 wiping on Dec 1st so Dec 2nd through Dec 10th is PTR testing. The next few weeks will also be only PTR testing besides the long weekend for Thanksgiving which will be A2 up again.
aah okay, well that sucks but guess i'll hold out until than
Are secondary archetypes going to be in the dec 11 patch?
nope i suspect they be milkestone 3 we still have a base class skill tree rework to do before secondary and thats apparently milestone 2
So early access can embrace the luck with us nice. That should go over brilliantly 👏
yes dec 11 next year
Games don't pop out of the luminiferous ether. As much as it feels like it these days. I would much rather they get it right than do it fast personally.
anyone got a link to a cleric build ? i wanna check
Alright, for the summoners in here or some AOC expert who can take the time to answer, can someone explain to me in how does the dmg aggro meter works? on the summoner for example...(since from my understanding that s how aggro works ,scales with dmg numbers??,and healing numbers?? right?), does the character dmg adds to pet aggro or has it s own aggro , and if so ,when pet dies but not the summoner what happens with the aggro? Lets say a dps summoner pet gets aggro when pet dies the aggro accumulated from the pet transfers to the summoner or will go to the next high dmg character in the party, or how, what? And, i am not going deep into the numbers i am trying to understand just the basics because if the damage of the summoner class it s hybrid "pet-char" that class will never ever get the aggro in a party/raid group and die in pve right?or how?what? , but still i am very confused even for an Alpha game .Someone take time and explain please !!! 404!!! HELP!!!
You get to, basically, take everything. For the most part, clerics are usually skipping chains of restraint and it's upgrade as well as bountiful blessed weapon. You get to take EVERYTHING else. Bountiful blessed weapon is a flex point that you swap back and forth with righteous blessed weapon. There's currently no real decision points in the tree.
Your CHAR and SUMMON have different "sets" of aggro... aggro is based off of "heat build-up" which is typically TANK>HIGH DPS>HEALER>MID-LOW DPS. Let's say you have a HEALING summon out, but it is only auto-attacking... you will easily pull aggro from your dps. If you have a DPS pet out, but it is only auto-attacking, you can also pull aggro with enough skills/damage put out. If you have a TANK pet though, you will most likely not pull, and if your TANK pet TAUNTS you definitely will not pull aggro off of the TAUNTED target. For your "when your pet dies" question, from what I could tell the next highest THREAT will not go to the SUMMONER, but most likely the HEALER or if a DPS is really pumping then they will take it. This is of course all subject to change, because from what little I've played... the summoner needs a lot of work on attacks, movement, skill bars, while char is mounted, and resummoning to replace active.
From what I can tell the pet and summoner are considered different entities. When the pet dies, their aggro does not transfer to the summoner.
this can happen if the pet engages an enemy while you are mounted and dies though... so there is a link
Yes...but there are also financial realities. They have to release a game with a complete enough feature set that people want to pay every month to play it before they run out of money and can no longer develop the game. We don't know how long that runway is, but they can't afford to tweak and iterate forever.
I don't if it's the tone or what, but I find you iterating. ;p
^ man, been waiting a while to unveil that beauty.
there a work around for not being able to sic heal party members with mystic?
From my experience the sic command works, it just locks the mystic in place, so if target goes out of range the sic effect ends. Other than that iunno
The current Alpha 2 Worlds. Is it meant to have the summoner available for character creation?
Nop
Summoner coming to the Alpha server when Ashes goes early access on Steam, eleventh of December I think
Either don't have dual targeting on, or drop your offensive target when you sic. The issue seems to be with dual targeting prioritising the hostile action (from my limited testing)
do you really think summoner it will come out in December?
It is very fleshed out, ready to go
what does the healing throughput feel like vs cleric? wanting to play a healer but worried about cleric being overshadowed by summoner on release
I would not worry about that XDddd
Clerics have one thing that no other class has.. Rez
good point
No other class has the pure output of clerics either when it comes to keeping a group alive. We’ll have to see what the finalized notes are with TTK and stats are for the 11th
What classes seem to be least common at the moment?
Whatever your group needs. This mostly boils down to tank, bard, or cleric.
I was thinking about cleric or tank, but I am worried about leveling speed as well. Havent really considered bard
All groups will want at least one tank, bard, and cleric, and they can't really function without them. Some groups want two bards. Some want two clerics. I think the second bard is far more useful than the second cleric since they can spec different things, but the cleric has to be competent.
Thanks for the help. I will look into bard a bit
rogue is probably the least common, but bards and tanks are probably the most desired. A tank, cleric, and 90% a bard are required for decent pulls. Having 2 bards in a group is almost always good also
To clarify a bit, leveling as a group is super common in this game
This Ashes of Creation class guide will help you choose which archetype is right for you as well as go over the planned 64 class system. No matter the role or class fantasy you prefer, this MMORPG may have something for you. Each archetype is broken doen in great comprehensive detail to help you choose your main. The archetypes available are Mag...
thats 100% tank propaganda
nerf fighters buff mages and rangers
@rigid mortar "class" 😭 😭 😭

Were there any class changes to tank?
Not yet, they did say they will do changes to archetypes in the next milestone tho (or was it the one after that idk anymore)
depends if you have a lazy bard or not 😛
what do you think the necromancer will be
pretty sure Cleric and Summoner
Names are already decieded its in the wiki
The bottleneck with summoner healing is the Essence. That is the resource summoner's healing vessel uses to heal people.
Now, the Summoner primary + Cleric secondary is called Necromancer. This is obviously gonna be the choice for summoners that want to heal (well maybe the bard version Scryer aswell.)
So my prediction is that Necromancer will be one of those summoners that can have multiple vessels out at the same time, and the idea will be that smaller skeletons keep gathering Essence for you, and the Mystic vessel will do the healing. It might look like a Lich or smth.
eh atleast its 2 words
I suppose could be worse
i dont think the vessel will outheal a cleric or bard with only one healing skill that can be casted 3-4 times with full essence
yeah, but the summoner probably does more dps than a bard or cleric, and can just respec to be a one man tank+dps duo
Is the Necromancer pretty cool? Is it DPS or healing
or I suppose it depends on if summoner or cleric is primary class?
we dont know yet
also necromancer is specifically summoner first then cleric
left+top on the image
ahh thank you
He didn't make it explicitly clear, but secondary archetypes and classes aren't in yet. That's what he meant by we don't know yet.
Oo okay so for the 11th. cleric is played as a support type only id assume
reading the wiki now about classes
All classes can do some damage and are expected to do so, but cleric is the main healer in ashes. Bard and now summoner can heal a bit, but they aren't "the" healer. Bards do do a lot of heavy lifting healing in large scale pvp and cleric kind of gets resorted to a rez bot.
Thanks for the info! Do we know if we will be able to "re spec" the secondary archetype?
There's very little info currently about those secondary archetypes/classes. A lot of it has been said a long time ago. I would assume we know nothing about it besides the vision that they've explained until we get more information.
The vision is the secondary archetype augments the main archetype abilities, not necessarily giving you a ton of additional skills from the secondary archetype. They have used examples of fighter/mage taking fighters leap slam and turning it into an elemental aoe teleport. Cleric/cleric improving your rez to be a mass rez with a longer cd, cast time, and mana cost.
And yes in the past they have said that you will be able to change secondary archetype but it would likely be a long/hard task not just a button click away
But like Momir said we never know if they changed their mind till it is actually implemented
Rangers, it is time to stand for our rights to mark enemies properly 🏹

will the summoner pet hunter have cleave on the melee attacks or strictly single target
Melee cleaves ranged is single target
thanks just didnt really notice the dmg on the ptr
So the auto attack for the melee may be single target but it’s 2 dps abilities are cleave
is that permanent or subject to change
Everything is subject to change, class rework/changes are the next work milestone though after steam launch
fair I appreciate the response
what do u think is a good armor combo for tanky cleric:? My thoughts where 5x Medium + Light Armor
On ptr is a bit different than live. On live you'll be in whatever you can get. Then probably farm/buy bloomwarden (light) from mob drops. Finally, you'll craft medium/heavy depending on what is available. Duskhunter (med) is really good. Cryptward (heavy) is pretty good. Sandbastion (heavy) is really good. You don't really get the armor type choice until later in the wipe.
I’ve been outta the game for a bit. Will all class archetypes be around at ea launch or does anyone have a list of which archetypes there will be?
All 8 base archetypes will be available. No secondary archetypes/classes.
All 8 archetypes will be available on Dec 11 🙂
Secondary classes aren't yet implemented.
Will you have information for us on secondary classes? Its a vital part of gameplay and even though classes play well without it alot of people were looking forward to the advanced RPG aspect of so many classes.
We're all pretty excited for secondary classes 🙂 We don't have information to share on them other than we're excited to have all 8 archetypes in game very soon, which has been our focus before beginning on secondaries 🙂
Ah gotcha ty praying for necromancer seems like it’s be fun
is summoner available yet?
Why so many ppl saying fighter sucks and there is people saying fighter is OP
its kinda a mix. All the other classes are just so much better that it makes us kinda suck especially in large scale but at times especially in the hands of someone geared and know they doing it seems unstoppable
u are main fighter?
yes. Have played other classes but its my main and has been since like phase 2 or 3 i think
U did a lot of pvp?
Yep. Large scale small scale etc some pirating too in the tropics it honestly felt so epic jumping onto ships and shi
Then what do you think about best armor? medium?
Mix between medium/heavy imo. First mistake you can make as a fighter is neglecting defensive stats. Having a fuckton if power is pointless if you are instantaneously blown up whenever the enemy looks at you for a second
Yaa but ppl in ptr all using bloodrunner full medium
Ehh ttk kinda wild rn being crazy fast don't wanna rejudge perspective unless they do some more changes. Hopefully we don't go back to the dark age of being 2 or 1 tapped by the 3 billion power mages lol
it's time for players to use their heads and start building defensives (mostly hp) instead of just power
Use their heads? Their are so much dead stats in this Game ..you just have 2 Stats to build in for meta
Yeah
hopefully next patch we will have three
So much reportet stuff month ago ..never get fixed like Auto attacking ships
No hope
So which archtype end up with the better movespeed (considering straight line walking not any specifics outside that) ranger or speed bard?
Bard
cool, and thats just speed song and nimble dance to achieve correct?
those plus pep buff and flourish slide, I’m not a bard enjoyer tho, think there were some interactions not working or taken away from flourish resetting or something
Still the fastest runner tho
i used to play bard but only recent return after some time away for personal reasons and still learning all the buffs/nerfs that have happened but was just looking for fastest runner for a thing i wanna try/test.. ill play with bard and work out specifics just didnt wanna have level/mess with multiple classes to get to what im trying
Funny thing about fighters is they want to gear like tanks
They want to be tanks and just hate themselves so they pick inferior class
nerf fighters
buff summoner nerf everything else
What are you trying? If it's crates may I suggest rogue? Really fast with a pack on its back and has stealth.
wait rogue stealth hides crate? can you sprint still while stealthed? if so thats kinda crazy
i havent played rogue much, i get its just bad taste in mouth by some the overly shady stuff some have used rogue to do, a rogue as my crate runner though might be cool idea
Might not be as prevalent with the inclusion of mules, but it was stupid op last patch.
I still think if you touch a crate outside a van turn in radius you should flag. Idc what you do to it. If you break it open? Flag. If you pick it up? Flag. If you're carrying it? Flag.
Crate running is so safe since corruption is currently, by design, overtuned to allow testers design space and to dissuade griefing.
i understand why they added crates but i feel the way crates and corruption have invalidated caravans isnt good, both as profit method and honestly for some the fun pvp had i like caravans they jjst need refinement rather then crates making caravans useless to do
but hey if they want allow me to rogue stealth a caravan i totally would do it once or twice for the memes
How are tanks atm? Fun?
To some people, yes. To others, no. If you like their playstyle, typically, you'll likely like it. They're a front line bruiser of sorts that chain to get picks, wall to deny los, and cc people for disruption.
Rogue is MUCH slower after changes to grapple
Effectively double the grapple CD iirc
I was just thinking it should be in the discussion if that was his goal. It has to be better than ranger even with the nerfs.
I’m going ranger this time
My bet is it’s gonna be more normalized and better since there’s more melee/ranger options, no more DR on power, and better stat adjustments for them
- dodge changes
Yea, I was saying explicitly for crate running. Rogue should be at least in the conversation.
I think for most activities ranger is better than rogue. Rogue skill ceiling is fairly high, but most players are terrible. It's not hard to spot a bad rogue, but I guess that statement goes for most classes.
i agree with momir with ranger being better as a whole but yeah the rogue talk between us ws on niche thing not as a whole
Rogues and fighters have their niches, but they get out shined as the scale increases, particularly in pvp.
thats part im sad about, fighter i do actually enjoy and have fun playing but yeah it just doesnt have as good a spot in bigger picture
Ehm
they need to nerf fighter big time
buff fighter
how dire do you guys think the tank situation will be this phase? usually a bard main but I am so tired of waiting for tank for hours
Tanks a tank so therefor things will always tank without a tank.
It will be significantly alleviated by introduction of summoner. The guardian pet can ghetto-tank for a while until a proper tank shows up, so the group does not collapse while you find one. This is a huge improvement.
Trying to decide between mage, archer, and summoner when early access drops tomorrow? Could someone give me a summary? Do archers have further range?
what do you normally like to play
mage is an archer with more damage less utility, summoner is a mage with way less damage nad more utility
rangers are physical scaled ranged, mages are magical scaled ranged, summoner is well a summoner but is magic based, everyones ranges are fairly similar to each other but weapons used can change rage e.g long bow has bit more range then short bow etc, but if you think very stero type of each class that is how they generally play out
Ive played a variety of things, sometimes healer, sometimes mage, archer. I typically dont do melee, typically i like magical related classes but just depends on the game and how to classes play/their role.
Was thinking of going mage but then thought that archer with bow would be nice for long range pvp (id like to play for both pve and pve reasons)
you can have 5 characters per server so ig you want to make a ranger and a mage you can also any class can use any weapon so you can have ranger using spellbook or a mage using a bow if that feels better for you just make sure to watch the scaling on the weapon as a ranger would what physical scaling bow/spellbook where mage would want magical scaling otherwise class abilities will be lacking strength is using weapons of wrong scaling
Good to know, thx yall
Why do people keep saying that Tank is the better melee than fighter for pvp?
What exactly puts them apart in a game that seems rather melee unfriendly overall?
that's exactly why, they have the utility and defensives that fighter is lacking
What defensives are those? Outside of just gearing differently
You can play a fighter with a shield and defensive stats
And is the Tank not lacking the offensive skills that are needed for a melee role in PVP?
nah you just trip people and bonk them on the head
every one of tank's defensive skills is great
So you think the Tank has enough options to also deal relevant dmg in PVP? Or are they just a CC bot?
they can definitely output enough damage to be a threat in pvp
Is "Slam" a good spender for your resource? It doesn't do anything outside of damage
Grit doesn't stack anyways, does it? So why spam it with 20 sec duration?
And courage gain seems high generally
Summoner can survive longer than mage and ranger aswell
so the mage used to be the class that leveling groups always wanted? is that still true?
dps is kinda a mix but dps usually easier to fill groups then getting healer/tanks but mage is still accepted as a dps if thats what your asking
It's the easiest DPS to get into groups yeah
Summoner good for solo playstyle ?
Ya
Is the summoner class fun to play?
Ya
been a while, but what armor type do summoners use? light?
The one with the highest stats
Hello, one of my core abilities broke after death (grit, on tank. Totally greyed out, cannot use anymore)
Does anyone have a work around for this or is the character usless now? I tried reloggging
I had a similar bug on cleric in the past i could never got rid of it not even relogging only new char helped but it bugged out again
Even when server wiped the bug came back, but no one else had that issue
Anyone have late(r) game experience with Tank?
Kinda curious if 2h is actually viable and not hated on too much
Its quite common actually
how do i make my pet bar show the abilities of my current pet?
pet bar not working like it did on beta for anyone else?
like it doesnt swap abilities between each pet?
Its buggy, sometimes it does but mostly doesnt
Have to get from spellbook
each time you change pet you have to manually change the bar?
Yup its buggy sadly
How is summoner aoe potential ?
Pretty good actually
Wich skills to spam or rotation ? I dont understand how to aoe in a party with this class
read the skills, it says which ones aoe or spread aoe
Yup i dont remember the names but you dot them and spread and ur genkidama bomb does aoe as well
Dps pet also have decent aoe dmg
I think its not much different from other classes but they changed stuff so i cant say for certain but it should beat ranger
For summoner, when I switch summons the skills seem to stay for the previous summon. is there any way to fix that?
i dont have great answer but on ptr many people just unsummoned and resummoned the new summon several times and eventually it changed, cant give a better answer then that atm sorry
Gotcha, thanks for the answer :). it looks like you can also just remove the second one from the tree and it fixes that as well
Summoner feels underwhelming
Not sure if they tuned him down drastically?
I feel like i have so few damaging skills
is a deadly finisher a random chance a finisher does more damage?
And activates several procs from your weapon skill tree
Curious to find out if t he summoner can work good with another setup than the usual light armor + wand.
is a single summoner able to have multiple summons up at the same time?
no
you need to micromanage hunter pet + eviscerate with amplify
are summoner's able to heal their own pet so I don't have to keep exiting action cam to do it myself?
what class is broken ?
i thought when you get the double summoner archetype at lvl 25 you can control multiple at the same time
Upper class, they keep getting richer and richer
You have to dismiss your current pet before summoining the new one to show the right skills. its a known bug and will be fixed soon
there is no archtypes in game yet.. so no one can have more than 1 pet out
You mean Class. What we have now are Archetypes. Adding secondary Archetype gives you a Class.
Semantics. Whatever it's called here class vs subclass.. archetypes vs class.. we have half of the total max lvl and no combined classes yet.
How have melee classes felt in sea gameplay? Seems like a potential area for friction 🤔
what classes are meta ?
pewpew is always a good option
Rogue or fighter wich one is more fun? For pvp and pve
Rogue pvp and pve fighter
Not that fighter is not fun but rogue has more things he can do
Okey thank you hard choise uhm xD
Rogue is one of the newer classes, its way more fleshed out
But classes will get eventually rework
depends on your goals, for solo and group invites, cleric is great
ok so no change sine PTR. i already use one
Dimension Bolt buggy where it doesn't let you teleport your pet? It just goes instantly on cooldown?
Wrong channel bud
oops good call
I play my cleric with shield, spellsword and spellbow for solo...
so can a rogue use something like a greatsword or is there an actual advantage sticking to dual daggers?
you can use whatever you want
my decision for sword, shield and longbow for cleric is cause im playing solo and want to do some damage
its a cleric skill, that every hit has a possibility to burn the enemy, so the weapon shouldnt be too slow and so on...
do weapons actually impact how much damage you deal?
not the weapon itself in my case, the speed...
So for most classes they are just stat sticks? Its not like your abilities hit any harder with a 2H vs with a dagger?
they do, its special for my cleric, i dont care about the weapon damage itself (a little bit, so i dont use a rapier), i dont do much damage with weapons itself, but they trigger some of my skills
i can conflagrate burning enemies
watch them burning and healing faster than they damage
Pretty much, they do each have some upsides but overall very neglectable
You should use whatever gives you the best stats
Some things matter like spellbook doing ranged aoe and such but still, stats matter most
You can worry about weapon type when ur done lvling
So I can be a rogue with a 2H Greataxe if that floats my boat?
yes
Yup greataxe was the best meeleweapon before idk if it changed
But for meele weapons its really only about the stats for the most part
Majority of pvp u do ranged weap
thats why the longbow
any advantage to shortbow over longbow?
i tried them both and shortbow just felt like ass
has great burst for rangers, for group clerics its great to get mana back
shortbow
Longbow has more range when auto attacking also more stat distribution towards power
Shortbow was meta in the past for rangers but that got nerfed still fine tho
Look at the stats for the most part
Shortbow also can apply snare which is better for kiting when solo
Ah, dint know that, shortbow has more mana back for clerics
but im a solo cleric, so i use longbow for pulling and pvp
Yea onhit stuff favours fast hitting weap
Thats why bards use wands and shortbow often
Bless weap and enchant weap is very good for shortbow
When u have weapon skill trees lvl up a bit theres stuff like heartseeker or bullseye which is quite strong but dont worry about it for now
do you get more procs by hitting more targets with single swipes with a longsword?
Yes
Hm, my Bard has longsword and longbow
Meele weap is pretty whatever
Also its mainly for pvp
So dont worry about it too much
All my Templates are made for pvp, even if i only want to play pve
its a pvp and pk game, so i adapt to this
playing such stuff for decades, i really like how its solved here...
As cleric i used longbow only so i could do dmg and poke in because im greediest man alive
But shortbow or wand is good for resource build up
Or spellbook if doing aoe
why longbow and not shortbow in pvp?
Longer range
Snare or you mean chill
chill
Nope only spellbook and wand have those
longbow has this healing block or so
wound
Ya and usually you want to avoid chill as it can dr and fuckup shatter combo from mage
we dont wanna upset the mages
Also if you freeze someone that drs with ranger root too
You can take it for solo or small grp pvp
Otherwise just go volitile
i feel like 80% of players are either Rogue, Cleric, or Summoner lol
Best weapon for a Summoner wand or book?
book
not exactly how that works, book takes 3 hits to proc and wand takes 5 hits to proc
and book hit bounces in aoe
Thanks. havent played in about 9 months so catching back up
So far Im just using that DPS pet to destroy everything it gets near 🙂
Just didnt want to get the wrong Wanderer weapon from the Divinity chests
Finishers are pretty normalised across the board
Clerics still feel like top dogs 😎
Scepter's max weapon special to increase physical penetration, even though it does arcane, is pretty painful
Thats what happens if you copy pasta weapon trees
for a bard procing resonant weapon wand can proc faster giving more damage but finisher damage alone isnt enough for the speed difference to matter vs spellbooks aoe on each shot
so nice to see regeneration feels like it has a use now :p which is to heal mounts thats it :p lol
any other bards noticing pep not getting applied from endless jest?
does only the tank pet have skills?
i only ever see tank pet skills on the petbar.. disabled when using other pets
Its bugged, apperently you have to dismiss your pet first then summon the next one or change it manually via spellbook
ban summoners till they fix pet summoning freezing people around them or party member 😛
whats better between fighter, ranger, and mage
mage fs but ranger and fighter have their uses though (totally not biased)
dont u have to have crazy gear for mage tho
i am leaning towards mage
maybe i would actually be able to play it if there wasnt a 10 hour queue
does cleric or tank have decent dps? I kinda want to try either but I don't want to hit like a wet noodle
Is wand or book more recommended for cleric normally?
And I guess similarly sword or scepter?
I only got to 12 in the alpha, but my observation is that both can do enough to solo while gatheirng and stuff - neither is gonna match the dps of a dps class
Seems like if you want to have a support/utility role and still dps you want summy or bard
Cleric hits like a bird and tank is cc with aight damage cleric has high survivability with heals
ranged weapons seem to be favoured in use more then melee so sword vs secpter is matter of stats really, wand id single target faster firing where book hits harder per soot is a little slower and has ability for attack to chain from target to another mob, both are viable and up to your playstyle how you want to go i will say some people dont like book cos the chain part the attack can over aggro sometimes
Tank does more but cleric can do solo aoe farm on lower lvl mobs very well when you got cons wave and circle together with bless weap and meele auto attack
Thanks! Does wand proc it's cooldown reduction more too?
they are both comparable but i do believe the wand attack chain procs finishers slightly faster rate then the book does
Book for aoe otherwise wand, finisher speed is the same across the board for the most part. Wand is better on single target as it gives more procs of bless weap if u use it on yourself and stacks your resource faster
But in the end its mostly about stat til endgame really so dont worry about it much
You can also rock bows but make sure that its magical and not physical theres a version of both types for each weapon
If ur in meele range u wanna use meele weap for but thats really only the case when u solo lvl
Thank you!!

So does ranger/bard run speed cap out at 10%?
what level is arcane circle for mage?
Did Tank class become much less needed with Summoner Tank?
does race matter for stats or all the same?
Anyone know any good resources to figure out what gear type to focus for Clerics? (Light/Med/Heavy) other than the wiki
Maybe later on
Hi hi, good morning, and sorry if this has been answered already.
1, are archetypes available in alpha 3?
2, if so is necromancer available yet?
3, ifso.... what is available for that skill tree?
Please look into the summoner's pet vanishing into nothingness... its pretty game breaking for the class.
Bug report it. That's what it's all about.
are most mages using books instead of wand/focus?
I am using wand and focus but More just because I like the play style of single target. I think the spell book might be more for aoe. (Could be wrong). Also I use a Spector for stats.
Are there any general guide for summoner yet?
I’ve just been trying to group up and aoe lower level mobs but having hard time finding good packs to do it with
I’m stuck on this lv3 quest called “hungry for more”
I can’t finish the part that said “find info about the poison”
No instruction or anything in quest description.
Been killing 10 mobs in the suggested area
for Bards, what change/effect is different for instrument ? does it change anything?
What gear type should clerics use? Im currently doing medium for the split resistences
is divine infusion judgment bugged for cleric?
It should just be a cosmetic change (visual & sound).
best weapon for mage? sceptre+orb/wand+orb?
Are they going to do something about the buff/debuff/effect mess?
I just went over the buff/debuff effects on my bard..

Some of them tie into others, like "If target has debuff-X then apply debuff-Y"
Some are stackable stuff like Discordand Note, Snared etc..
I played EQ and EQ2.. Most classes had some valuable buffs and debuffs.. They didnt rely on other debuffs to work, other than the resistances.. Enchanters and I believe shamans and mages had some magic debuffs that made it possible, or at least much easier, to land other debuffs on targets.. But those were basically universal..
In AoCs mess of effects, trying to figure out a chain of abilitys to be able to land other debuffs is very difficult even if I just look at my own abilitys for soloing..
Granted, I havent got much of a clue what the other archetype classes do.. Maybe they got just as long lists of effects that are unique to their own archetype, or most classes use mostly the same effects..
Well first you gotta look, i play bard, and quite a few of those are the same buff/debuff worded differently. Take "chilled" for instance. It is the effect that the frost skills give that apply "weaken".
Yea, makes it even more silly.. Chilled is basically Snared, except its 50% and not stackable like Snared...
Chilling Lament applies both Chilled AND Weakened though.. One does not rely on the other
Right but in a combo mmo youll always have ability effect -- [debuff/buff]
I dont even see any point in trying to sort out the best way to make use of the debuffs in a pve raid perspective with these effects...
I'll just assume all these debuffs will basically always be applied by someone
I mean yeah but skills arent created around what someone else does?
So rather than in like EQ2, timing debuffs so the raid gets the most use from them, even in some ways crucial to being able to defeat the target.. In AoC it's as simple as saying "Everyone, just bash all your ability buttons all the time then we'll win"
Should i be wearing light/ magic type armor on bard?
In EQ2, enchanters, shamans and mages if I recall some of it, had to start with their magic resistance debuffs before anyone else could even successfully land another debuff on the targets...
@robust canopy I will be going with medium.. Either you leave yourself completely exposed to phys dmg with light armor that ONLY gives magic defense, or you wear heavy armor that ONLY boost your Phys defense...
I went heavy cuz almsot all of my fights thus far have been physical damage... almost nothing magic and i can generally outheal magic pvp
This isnt like other games where light armor=cloth that basically doesnt protect against any type of melee weapons or the heavy bulky armor that slows you down but gives massive protection against physical attacks
What class do you play?
Bard bard same as you you
Yeah.. I'm going to start from a medium perspective but from my experience in this game since alpha 2 I think leaning towards a few pieces of heavy(with magic damage bonuses) might be the way to go
Its really hard to figure this game out though
Its so far from the games Im used to
cheers cheers so seems light is the least prefered. i'm finding it hard to figure out what stats im looking for.
Haha i feel that. I ran a #6 guild on throne and liberty for the first year. So its SUUUPER similar to me.
Well, bard abilities, spells or skills or what you want to call them, are all based on magic
I mean early on the only "stats" are resistance
dont know what class you play
but fighter, rogue, ranger etc are all based on physical I believe
the best heavy armor have phys stats, while the best light have magic stats
But the stats are so complicated its really hard to even tell tbh.. Like.. There is Mag Power, Mag Bonus and Mag Boost.. Why???
Not even seen an item with Mag Boost on it yet
All 3 basically do the same thing too
my head was telling me dex for a bard, im not sure why. so i want int? im still early on so very few options so far
Yea, bards in this game dont want dex afaik
in everquest, dex was good for rangers, rogues and bards etc..
so i should be thinking more like a mage?
Mag boost is skills not items.
When I asked about this the first time, the answer I got was like "Imagine that every player in AoC fell through a portal and were imbued by magic, everything is magic".. Then you start playing and stuff keeps saying physical or magical and you go ok... that explanation really made no sense LOL
Bard is gunna be INT primary Wis secondary
It is? Where does it say that though?
Also there is no mention of whether there are dimnishing returns on stats
Like, if, at some point, increasing INT by 10 points becomes less worthwhile than increasing WIS by 1
what about weapons should i be using a magic book and what not or can i get any stats on any waepon?
You should be using weapons that increase ur magic
So mag power = base stat
Mag bonus = bonus applie to base stat
Mag boost = +magic from buffs/skills.
Bard=Book for ranged combat.. Since a book will hit 2 targets while a bow will only hit one?
Tbh i haaate the book... im using a 2h sword bleed build on my bard atm.
Although I am not sure why rangers dont use books aswell, there are books with Phys stats... And hitting 2 targets should be better than just hitting 1 right? Im guessing the ranger abilities rely on having to use a bow I guess?
At least from my time, the book is a nightmare. Ive had issues with pulling massive groups before with it..
Since ive done a lot of solo play it becomes dificult. Also if a player is flagged near what ur attacking it will hit him and pull you into pvp.
Oh.. That might be why I got PVP flagged outta nowhere at church today.. There was an entire group that was pvp flagged there, suddenly I was aswell and had to run for my life LOL
Yup. That's exactly why... i was there too same issue. Plus the threat generation from it is way too much
So is that the only reason that rangers use bows, and bards use books, that rangers have figured out that books might get them inadvertently killed? Becase there are books with phys stats, and surely hitting 2 targets for double the damage of a bow hitting just one oughta be better?
ANd here I was aiming for the arc arcanus or whatever that level 29 book is called.. Had a green one in alpha 2(dropped loot)
When I SHOULD be looking for a bow with magic stats
Btw, just imagine if they add a raid boss that does solely magic damage.. What would the tank wear? Surely not Heavy armor?
Tanks job is just to take hit. Bard job to heal and shield. 😛
Tanks job seem to also be to beg groupmates for coin to pay for armor repairs LOL :p
Lmao. But yeah idk. I also dont know if ppl know you can get a phys book or magic bow. Shit i was shocked when i got a green magic 2h
And here I was thinking that the bards job was mana battery.. I didnt find the heals much use tbh.. Too long downtime and too weak.. And I dont wanna go for heal power stats and give up dps
O.o weak???????
Anyone able to suggest a good summoner build? Im level 10 atm but wanna make sure I am pulling my weight in groups.
Well, at level 7 the red rose(AOE) heal gives only 11 health per tick and is what, 20s downtime?
Thats for me though.. I got no items with "Heal Power"
Why would u run the aoe though?
Group heal? Clerics heal the tank
Eh. Solo one is better. Plus you have to run the active healing buff prior to using any heals.
That gives you a 15% flat increase to received healing
Trying to decide between cleric and bard, are they both decent in combat or is one better than the other? I understand they are both support roles cleric heals and bard buffs?
Im playing bard and its ez mode
Why say that?
Playing a summoner at the momentg, level 7 started with guardian, just put point into hunter but cant summon it,any ideas?
