one guy made a youtube vid showing bard resonance auto attacks doing massive aoe dmg. i thought that was a support class 😂
ye saw that too
1.5k hits on alltargets every few seconds
dunno, as a bard who until 2 days ago only had 8 points in wand, I can only guess those changes were queued up behind stuff like mage nerfs and tank 95% dmg mitigation bug 😛
Idk maybe you have some good internal sparring info but Ive seen mages melt tanks on this phase
problem is
most tnaks
go full heavy armor
which mainly gives Phys mitigation
im almost fully crafted and enchanted and im 60/40% mitigation
thats part of the problem, pve gear for pvp situations, also I dont think defensive stats give much when you compare what people can do with offensive stuff atm
6,2k hp
dmg scales alot better than tankyness
and i think a reflect ability that lasts x amount of time and reflexts either 100%-200% or scaling with hp/con would be massive
And mages have way too many sources of volatile 😄
only if I can do that to my teammates
This is soooooooo funny. I assume the 1st guy is the "lookout" and this other guyshows up to break a window. Little did he know the glass was unbreakable. He throws a rock, which bounces and hits his buddy in the head behind hip, knocking him out cold. BUT WAIT, it gets better
i run 3 heavy 5 light on a level 14 mage and even with still some novice bits on, i held my own fairly well against a level 18 and or 20 cleric that was attacking my guilds caravan. 50ft from an ember
My burst without proper combos like shatter, was nearly enough to win solo against one of them as the caravan and others escaped. and the mixed resistance was wonderful for survival
did it for fashion ashes, and now after finding mage stat heavy armour like enchanted bronze, its quite viable
fashion >>>>>> stat viagra chasing.
yes. but its so much better when you can fashion and make it viable without a proper cosmetic or transmog system
||Rividium is the 20+ caster/healer heavy armour||
For those wondering the percent change of the mage nerf:
•Shield duration is ~45% shorter
•Arcane circle is 33% shorter and 10% less damage (~55% damage nerf altogether)
•Lightning ball is 50% less damage applied.
•Chain lightning + Aftershock combo is ~2.5% less overall damage.
•Prismatic beam (assuming all elements active while using) has an overall 50% nerf.
Was I having TOO much fun melting everything in front of me?
so the mage will have to cast like 1 more spell to kill?
if you think clerics are op damage wise ... explain to me pls how a cleric is having to high dps since the cleric lacks damagespells at all and yeh ofc he is supposed to be healer who will kill you 1vs1 ofc but in grps ?
lol maybe a weak mob. Think about in raid bosses though. this is a tremendous change for high HP mobs and bosses. much much longer fights.
Fighters rejoice
players
ive only taken cleric to lvl 6, so IDK but I already have 2 damage spells
With the buff to magma (20% increase), maybe 30% more hits needed, assuming equivalent gear on both parties and that the opposing party actually gets hit by magma.
right so maybe like 1 more cast on a player
not if theyre same level with similar gear. it would be like 3-5 more hits.
Did you farm for the enchanted gear/recipe or got it as lucky drop? I've been struggling to get recipes with it being such a general drop
Player market.
did find a blue chest though, so thats lovely
the codex has a list of places it can drop from tho.
Judgement, smite, condemn(CC) and consecrating wave.. everything else is healer stuff
thats three, three more than zero which what was claimed
Codex has a list but it's basically anything over LVL 15 was just curious if you had found a more targeted approach
endless searching market tabs and running from node to node and paying almost over a gold each
Smite you have from the start and really is more conflag proc then real damage as need high burn stacks to be generated, judgement and wave on healers are going to be used for their heal side rather then the damage side and condem without conflag is an incap that one damage rick ends so no they don't have real usable damage comparatively to other classes
the gear upgrades favor dps. mage time to kill is ridiculously fast atm. I hardly doubt they are going to need 3-5 more casts to drop a player with the incoming nerfs. we will see
didnt claim zero ... but 2 out of this 4 are basically used as heal 2 have 8 sec recast and the other 2 like 10+sec recast
you said "lack damage spells at all"
and still you are talking about your experience with your level 6 cleric thanks man
Okay pirate software, calm down nit picking wording over practical outcome
right, level 6 and already knew you were full of it
See you in 19 levels when you've gained no extra damage
is that your main?
ofc not
Ooo let me guess, mage main?
Your math is not mathing
nope
which one?
Aracne circle cd has been reduced from 90 to 60s
And that prismatic beam nerf is taken out of ass
you think ur gonna get it of twice in one fight?
1v1? no, mass pvp? yes
Plz dont use AI

So explain to me
i am really hoping for some spicey choices with archetypes to get some Op damage 😄
how is proc chance on chilled affecting dmg of prismatic beam?
its applied on prismatic beam
and has 100% uptime during the duration of beam
Yes, all 3 elements can be active at once under arcane circle.
And you get to have all 3 debuffs on target on the 1st tick of beam, while previously you had a chance to apply/refresh it on each tick
i cant maths but even i understand this part
WHAT DMG
a lvl 25's smite hits harder than a lvl 6's
Ah, sorry thats copy/paste for that part. You are correct. I bow down to you.
updated:
You assumed that this 1s duration is for the initial tick
and doesnt refresh on all ticks
I feel mage Gunna be the defacto go to choice but I'm hoping fighter might add some true paladin like damage tools to the kit
thanks man for your scientific approach 😄 the best source for cleric dps is autoattack with some decent weapon skill tree says my feelings LOL
And still doesn't compare the other LVL 25 attacks
and it shouldnt
It is a 50% slow per stack. but now you cant stack with beam because they last 1s instead of 6.
But it gets 100% uptime during the beam
Self blessing and shortbow for burning procs, then smite everytime burn is 20-24s to conflag is best damage approach I've found so far
Then mage shouldn't get shield and fighter shouldn't get it's life steal skills
single target yes not for grps or mass pulls
Haven't found a good group dps combo yet as heal circle splitting damage per target and wave are really only aoe damaging skills
so the user is slowed 50% for like 6.3 seconds, compared to 1 stack applied every 1.98 seconds, resulting in 3 stacks applied in the beam duration, so a slow of 87.5% for 6 seconds PLUS the slow during the beam.
And previously you had a chance to not get slow at all if unlucky
meh, they cannot use those skills on others. fighter would not be able to dps without self sustain.
try all of this with melee autoattack you will be surprised
But that's why they have a bard or cleric to heal them, the same way you feel cleric shouldn't damage cos they are healer
yes, i can agree to that, RNG is a very difficult thing to math, so I assumed best case, just as one would do who would want the nerf.
Oh it's decent damage but I would love to see some kind of actual combo for aoe like the smite conflag combo for single target
thats why you assume avg scenario not best
each class needs to be able to do its own job. any class can solo. clerics have no issues there, you just want to do it faster because... someone can come along and out dps a cleric and steal a mob kill?
You are saying that Beam got hit with 50% nerf which is not true at all
And you completely ignored buff to magma field

Of course I did, it wasnt nerfed, my post was about the items nerfed. I didnt say overall Mage nerf/buff change. But dont worry, ill assume "average" scenario for ya
But its like the Narc drama where you only took bad things and worst case scenarios for mages
not even close
Meanwhile even after this nerf mage will be still the most sought after dps class in pve and pvp
rangers shouldn't get to root half a raid with 1 ability then i guess 🤣
I exaggerate obviously
he was being sarcastic because he wants cleric to be stronger
thats something narc would do, i.e. the desert
I will state I personally have no issue with classes having skills that dip into the 'role' of other classes, just the person I was replying to was saying clerics shouldn't have damage is they are healers
i didnt say that
Then what's your theory to why cleric shouldn't have dps better in their toolkit?
never even said that either, someone said clerics have no damage skills. i just pointed out that I already had 2 damage spells on my lvl 6 clerics.
Anyways, im happy to change my calcs with your feedback, im not a perfect human and I dont use AI to do maths, so there is always a chance for human error. I didnt see a reason to include magma because its an obvious buff. I cant say mage as a class got an overall nerf/buff, because its all situational (you arent gonna have a pvper stand still in magma in a 1v1), thats why i am covering it on an ability-specific basis.
As far as an "average" scenario. it cant be a 33% chance occuring 50% of the time, so any recommendations?
So instead contributing to a class balance point you just trolling in technicality of wording
basically, yes
i asked for an explanation to why people assume clerics are OP damage wise ... nothing else
or pointing out a blatant falsehood; however you want to look at it. If you want improvements, then talk about making the skills you have better, not muddying the water by claiming there are none
end of the day, time to kill players is too fast across the board. Clerics are hardly the problem, if anything, slower kill times would help them tremendously, not amping their ddamage too.
tbh i was thinking the enchanting of lvl10 gear to +8s and all this mess is the culprit, but i dont have a way of proving bc i dont have that gear nor the coin to make it
i got clapped by a lvl25 cleric as a lvl 20 mage in 2 hits, even with shield up
Mage gets hit with nerf while our CC break is broken
Bards run rampant with 4-6k one shots and 3 CCs
maybe you could stack mentality to counter a mage dps, but then you gimp your own. I think this is the case though.
and dont get me STARTED with the tanks stunlocking me, i cant defend caravans no matter what
i almost wish that enchanting had a limitation of stats, especially as gear is lower in level.
my understanding is that the defensive stats simply do not keep up with offensive stats, so yes enchanting is the culprit.
Historically game company stands more chance to buff cleric to the other high ttk rather then needing all the other classes down to cleric ttk
legendary gear? even after the nerf i bet this rarity level still shits on people
its the enchanting
oh i meant legendary weapons***
no idea their gear, all I know is it was lvl10 crafted gear that they threw enchantments at over and over and over. Probs not legendary bc the high risk of destroying the gear thru enchantment.
most of us cannot afford enchanting, let alone waste it on gear that we will not keep. If i had a legendary weapon, id enchant it
Nah the enchanting is buffing damage application stats like mentality. The dude had a wand that did like maybe 10% better stat wise than mine.
and the rich get richer. since they got the stats early, they can gank/harass caravans, giving them more wealth, resulting in better enchants, and its a snowball
@undone quiver i hope you're reading this... enchanting is a problem in its current state lol
Enchanting weapons is not a problem at all lol what
Only an enchanter would say that!
every piece of gear giving +6's
Your lvl 10 enchanted necklace is better than my lvl20 drop from carphin
make sure everything has at least 1 point in your damge stat, thats why some lvl 10 items are better than 20's
at the current state of things yes higher rarity lvl 10s are better because they can be crafted anc enchanted
its only gonna get worse with lvl 20 gear enchantments
so enchant your gear?
correct, but enchanting armor is not
the guy earlier that said his 24 fighter had 115 str? my fighter at level 20 already had 170 str. 3 power per str right? do the math 😆
But my +9 blue Snar’s Necklace that gives 11 Phys 10 Str 10 Dex is busted beyond belief for a level 0 item
so are people suggesting maybe enchanting does not affect raw stats like int, dex, str etc.
So we ALL agree enchanting is OP currently? or no?
how much do you figure youve spent enchanting?
like 30-50g lol
Enchanting is incredibly overpowered if you focus on gear with raw stats like str/dex/con
my bard sitting at 169 int right now and yea probably spent 30/40 gold on enchanting
ive maybe seen 20g in my playthru bc i cant run caravans
thats actually not bad at all, for how much str you netted
+7 heroic polished tin belt cost maybe 10g to make and enchant and is giving me like 30 total points of stats
you guys are making me sad talking about ur stat buffs
I spent like 30-40g on enchanting now and I've run 2 caravans for a total of 3g
yeah my fighter is lvl 25 nowhere near that high str
Sell drops/materials
but you now have the opportunity to harass anyone u want running caravans pretty much
I’m a level 16 ranger with 135 str and I think 121 dex
Enchanting isnt super over powered - are you only saying that because you feel gated by money
id love to see the damage change with/ without enchants
Enchanting is overpowered
What do you mean it isn't. +10 lvl 0 item is nearly 10x stronger than base of that itme
Accessories at least
I just dont think u should be able to +10 a lvl0 item, maybe +2 or something, and maybe +10 a lvl 50 item
- okay, maybe like a lvl 30 item, 50 might be too excessive
People are spending 120g crafting a legendary forsaken blades longbow but if they spent 25g enchanting their shit they’d gain more than twice the stats
the gap between people who don't know about level 10 gear + enchanting vs the people that do is pretty big
you got youtubers stacking level 20 gear and people think that's bis
I have to ask, have u personally enchanted and noticed the impact? I cant say theyre broken bc i havent enchanted
i just wanna see if there are people that have enchanted themselves that agree its broken
Im at 152str and ~360phys power rn, yes its broken af
Im obliterating fighters in my guild that did not
and im not even halfway there
jeeeez
most of my shit is +3-5
enchanting = stat increase = power increase. i made 2 mages and went to HH beach(level 10-12 mobs). Mage 1 has copper weapons, Mage 2 has marketplace bought forsaken weapons. Mage 1 takes awhile to kill shit and risks dying because of this. Mage 2 1-2 shots everything and man handled groups.
Those were screenshots from earlier in the week. I think all 3 of those items are higher enchant now. So yeah my money is where my mouth is. It’s broken.
So yeah, i wonder if enchanting is the bigger issue. Maybe they should balance that prior to class nerfs/buffs
Why level 10? is there not higher tier enchanting?
how much % made you enchanting stronger compared to your opponents who did not ?
I’m a level 16 ranger with 135 str, my understanding is that’s more than a lot of max level chars rn
It is
not yet, journeyman tables needed for higher tier, but it is coming
Correct, no journeyman enchanting building
not on eu server
Thanks 🙂
thats huge lol
I should’ve taken some screenshots before downtime but for anyone who wants to be overpowered
can't really say the % but while my friend with ~100str hits for 450 from bow aa finishers i hit for 600
i mean thats 33% but ofc there is variance
i just know im a lvl 21 mage, who 1v1d a lvl 21 ranger to defend a caravan, and i lost the fight, but it was a close one. He was on his last bar, going down bc my burns.
but i have yet to experience me 1-2 shotting anyone at all
thats even 50% from your friends Point of víew xD
My top recommendations are Rare/Heroic Polished Tin Legs/Belt/Bracers and I’m happy to craft them for you on Vyra 🙂
what grade of mold do you need for that
for heroic
How enchanting works right now is that you want the most different good unique stats you can get on the item
For the legs you can use epic tin and a weak mold, for the other two you need a blue mold
How much gold have you spent on enchanting? Feel like that's the biggest hurdle
Oh and base stats are 5x better than other stats
i dont wanna be part of the problem but its leaning that way
Best guess 35-40g?
it's alot. chest alone at like +3 onwards is like 1g-1.5g per attempt. acccessories are cheap af. everything else is in between
It’s very powerful and likely needs a nerf but also once level 20 enchanting comes online things will make sense
Yeah chest and legs cost way too much gold to enchant
Belt is really cheap
I'm excited. I'm making a tank alt that already had a full set of ashen/forsaken waiting for him. All I need to do is grind out the sunhaven cloak
Blue mold and blue skin?
cuz getting that at higher than blue gonna be hard
I did it with blue mold, green skin, two epic tin ingot
Blue skins were in short supply
yw, it’s my pick for the best physical item in the game rn
4 base stats is fucking unbelievable, it might be the only item in the entire game like that
Thought I was in the wrong chat for a second
to catch u up: we are wondering if an enchantment nerf would have been better than an overall mage nerf
well, atleast i am
late Ashes capitalismoligarchy? n1
tbh im scared of a dual dagger rogue coming with +10 light gear, i can only imagine their crits
I personally cannot wait for Intrepid to wake up to the enchanting problem, I'm sure their fix is going to be as well balanced and thought out as the P1 rarity gear nerf 😉
yeah my +10 level 0 jewelry is the rogue waiting room also
imagine a summoner with this too, gosh, this is gonna be bad juju
Gear not binding makes enchanting feel a lot better
Enchanting will change, sure, but not by much. They WANT players to engage in it. It's one of the free HIGH gold sinks. Maybe change up chances of gear breakage or failure rates?
Well it would at least be nice if they fixed the enchanting items
I have a heroic novice scroll of not fucking your shit up when you enchant it and it’s literally identical to a regular novice scroll
the apprentice enchanting charm gives +3% but the novice one gives +5%
But also yeah if we can please for the love of everything kill the eastern MMO high variance horseshit enchanting system
That’d be dandy
I have no issue with a gold sink but I do feel there are better ways to handle things then run caravan, enchant gear, go kill mobs as 90% of the games finctionality
you also have to make the gear since dropped gear is much worse than crafted for enchanting
compare green polished tin legs +8 to heroic polished tin leggings +8
the heroic are >2x as powerful
Yeah but most crafters will be buying mats not gathering them and to buy the gear it's caravan runs for money.. the whole Econ is geared around physical money and that means caravans as it's the only real faucet.. may just be an issue cos the phase of development we are in but I personally In sand box hate when things are forced into a particular hole
I agree with you that they need other ways to generate raw gold for sure
for one thing I think they need to up vendor prices for items pretty much across the board
there’s no reason for gear to vendor for 36 copper or w/e
Up vendor prices, I would prefer see caravans more in the 75-80% their current value and what gets taken from caravan is added back to vendor buy prices, glint value (quest rewards and mob kills) to make other faucets cos as someone who is doing crafting and hasn't done a single caravan run I have no income and are barely able to keep the crafts going simply cos I haven't done a caravan which wouldn't net me money anyway with the hunters on my server
My favourite is mounts, go hunting and get the right roll for tameable animal, spend 55 silver plus taxes to roll, get mount and it sells to vendor for 5 copper.. vs wood working where I can choose trees, milk it and make caravan cartage and sell that for 1 and half silver
I’d also like to see quests reward raw gold to be honest
Charcoal is my personal favorite. 60 oak vendors for 3s but if you make it into charcoal it vendors for 15s (might be 12 but I think it’s 15).
I get the glint is 'pvpable' currency but I think mobs drop is 100% glint but quests are 50/50 glint / straight money
And increase quest rewards payout
yea, i feel like people who don't craft or arn't in guilds won't get anything higher than rare(blue gear)
unless people start selling stuff higher than blues for cheap in marketplaces but that'll probably never happen.
for cheap no but I’ve been advertising blue/heroic polished tin stuff for sale plenty and I think others will also
it’s expensive to make rn. once they fix animal rarities it’ll get much cheaper. That’s what’s holding it back.
rip mage?
Day 0 of first shutdown of Phase 2. By Thursday, PTR notes will have additional adjustments. Beyond that, more balance will come every 3 weeks, per their schedule
That said, I think the mage notes are balancing without being overkill.
Mage is dead reeee
nah man. RIP? our kit is still nice. Yes we lost some firepower, but we still got half our kit untouched.
as a reminder, these are PTR changes, who knows if it'll be balanced again if/when it makes it to live servers
pretty sure it is coming though. People have highlighted it enough for it to occur
stagger 2x chain lightning doesn't work so you can multiply the dead reee
"without being overkill" im sorry wut, they mega nerfed some of the abilities. others not so much.
i think enchantments are the better thing for them to work on.
Change my mind :
I understand the mage nerf but... nerfing it without even fixing the cc break from blink passive?
Hope its fixed but not in the notes ^^
Cleric
Wings of Salvation
Fixed a bug preventing the Unyielding Wings of Salvation passive skill from enabling the ability to break disabling effects
Mage
Blink
Fixed a bug preventing the Unyielding Blink passive skill from enabling the ability to break disabling effects
Oh nice, saw old ones i guess! 😄
You just saying this, or are these actual notes?
...don't give me hope
Actual notes
any gigabrain people here who can recommend a oneshot ranger build for 1v1?
I mean, you just go snipe + max crit no? seems hard to oneshot people tho
It also seems like a good way to end up corrupt if it did work xd
Good, love corruption
then yea, just max crit chance/dmg and phys power, use the mark and be >20m away, and pray for crit
should be easily able to get >800% dmg
mark as in just right click mark?
no, share cooldowns and don't stack afaik
different ones might stack, but then that isn't 1v1
Mage nerf is not justified.
Unless you use the class to kite perfectly, which is incredibly hard with a single blink on a long cooldown, we are completely relying on a tank to pull, a cleric to heal and a bard for mana.
On top of that, the cast times are long. The damage is only high if you find a position where you have the time to stack casts, otherwise you're trying to kite and poke.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to solo things that a cleric or bard can.
Damage is only thing mage has going for it, and you have to battle with poor mobility, long cast times, no healing and mana problems.
It makes no sense to change anything right now. Nothing will make sense until we get second archetypes to see how it all really works.
This is exactly when to change stuff. It's a balancing 'test and learn'. If these nerfs are too heavy handed, the they'll be adjusted in a few weeks. I think people should give it a whirl first. It'll make you change the way you play for a bit, though. Also, these aren't final patch notes, just PTR stuff. It may not even make it to live
A lot of people who think mages are OP are gaming classes thinking they need to stack armour with no magic resist.
You're right, there's a lot to be tested.
IMO it feels like it's playing as intended, but it's going to be very interesting when we have second archetypes...
Fighter with mostly Medium armor representing. Gotta get a little magic res somehow
mage could wipe an 8 man group within 5 seconds
totally justified lol
If mages aren’t OP, why is every big guild running 25 mage and 3 bards lol
because status effects work with everybody in the raid. that 1 shatter serves every mage that casts lightning at that moment lol.
In pvp they are on par with fighter, and rangers have that amazing snare with roots
Mages are really good for leveling to 25 quickly since they can safely aoe mobs faster than any other dps
One of the biggest issues with ranger, is they cuck mages with by using to much snare debuff
It prevents mages from using chill, which prevents freeze and shatter combo
yup, status effects being exploitable is a problem.
also say the hp pool scaled with damage properly, nobody would be crying about mage being op. everyone would be crying about clerics and barbs being unkillable.
The game is balanced around group play, the issue right now is, during group play, everyone except tank gets Insta killed, and the winner is usualy who killed the cleric first
you are supposed to be relying on a tank, cleric, bard, etc. The game is balanced around group play, not solo for the most part. and changing things now (presumably) helps the team get better data and do better balancing in the future
what is the role of threat when it comes to pvp, for tanks?
Threat is purely PvE
Scream at them in shout to draw aggro in pvp
Tell ‘em their mother smells to draw aggro Lolol
In Lineage you could Taunt force Aggro for a short period of time, which would make the Tanks suddenly useful in pvp, which also was extremely annoying
Humiliated is a debuff in Ashes of Creation.
Duration: 8s
Dispellable: Yes

Effect description

We're... trying to experiment with making ways for more classical abilities like Taunt and stu...
You use taunt to apply humiliated
Taunt can be used yeah, but threat is purely PvE
what mage nerf
Someone can probs re-share the PTR patch notes
Unironically dont hate the changes, I disklike the change to Shell, I thought it was perfect, prismatic beam change is weird, but makes sense. Rather guarentee a chill than not have it happen at all (rip flamethrower), and arcane circle can still be used. I just hope with the changes to chain lightning's aftershock that it FRICKEN WORKS when they are frozen and staggered, right now only shattered will happen and you lose the bonus damage from aftershock even though they were staggerd.
personally, I dont use lightning ball because I solo a lot of stuff, and it takes to much mana without a bard or cleric buff, i dont even want to have to sit down and recharge.
Not serious, excited to see them, damn tanks could really use some love.
Does anyone have numbers for what physical critical power rating does?
Like x rating = y% more damage on crits
does anyone know when the sub classes become available ?
ty bro
To tack onto that, last I saw they will introduce just the Tank and Cleric as sub-archetypes first.
gotcha ty
gosh, I dont know without checking in game, but I think it was a factor of 10. Like, 16 rating = 1.6%
that’s good to know. it’s a weird stat since it’s one of the only common ones that does not derive from a primary stat but that does scale directly (and powerfully) with other stats. It gets substantially more powerful as you get more physical power/pen/crit chance.
Interestingly, the lack of it as a main stat waterfall I think makes the 8pc heavy set exceptionally strong.
Does it not derive from Dexterity/Mentality?
It does not
hmm
Dexterity is attack speed, crit chance, and physical evasion, mentality is magic resist, mana?, and magical evasion
I’m checking those
That makes me happy because im a cook and....
Recipes like this and the physical variation
The wiki is slow
are now increasingly valuable
no, that’s the wrong stat
That's still crit chance, not pwoer
ohhhhhhh
Reading Comprehension: Needs Improvement
Crit Power is basically only specific pieces of gear, and weapon masteries
yep, and I think that makes the stat (1) really valuable on gear, probably the next best stat after primary stats and (2) makes the 8pc heavy set bonus really really really powerful
the 8pc legendary heavy set is +20% critical power, which seems completely bananas
Also, a different stat, but every ~66 penetration rating = 25% penetration. Foods like this -- even at common -- add an additional 25% armor pen. You get higher tiers of this food + base stats, and you are looking at damn near ~90% penetration
200 rating of a stat that’s hard to come by
assuming no Dr
That’s crazy because you get 1 pen per 1 main stat (str/int)
I’m sure it has some sort of scaling down to it
I’m sure you could get to 100% pen pretty easily otherwise
As someone whose hoping to max out cooking/farming/hunting, I am SO EXCITED to theorycraft crazy builds with food buffs, but.....you know.... we arent getting journeyman cooking any time soon
Those can be bought from a vendor currently
Is it Heroic? Yes. Does it increase auto attack damage by damn near 100? Also yes
that with a shortbow is disgusting
Really? Did you test that? I thought the stat was called like "Fire Additive Weapon Damage" or something
This looks like food that would buff a Mage's fire spells or the like
its autos
The "Fire/Ice/Necrotic/etc. damage rating" adds a flat extra damage to auto attacks
it might add it to skills, but I only see it on autos
That's crazy. What do the Carphin accessories do then? The ones that are "Additive Weapon Necrotic Damage Rating"
plenty of jewelry in game has + X(type) additive damage rating
same thing
just different types of damage
its not hugely important, but some items (red dragon shield, forge guard armor) have +fire damage resistance
That's... Confusing. If they do the same thing, we should get Intrepid to look at making the names consistent
so, you need to pick one people cant counter like '+radiant damage rating"
That would be like having "Critical Power Rating" and "Additive Ability Critical Power Rating"
same thing mechanically, but not acutally the same thing
tbf, ive not super tested it, just seen new numbers pop up when I auto attack
Then... Not the same thing. Point is mostly that, if they do the same thing, we should probably make a post/suggestion that they're named the same. Otherwise it's just very confusing
If they're different, then we just need to test what's different
Is data mining allowed for a wiki? or is that disallowed per some NDA or something?
That food is a different stat. “Fire damage rating” and “additive fire weapon damage rating” are different.
Maybe fire damage rating buffs the amount of additive fire weapon damage rating you do? Who knows.
The additive damage rating is very small, I get like 3 necro dmg from 12 rating and 5 fire damage from 20 per auto
Allowed
Everything is rating not hard stats
And then theres this item
Ahhh that one has both
If that works like other ratings then it's a 0.06% damage increase
gotta crunch those numbers
Can we give bards a lute instead of a violen?
Hurdy-gurdy bard option would be best
Id like a Alphorn
After they have proven they can do the hokie pokie while playing a Kazoo.....
YOU DONT LIKE YOUR DRUMS? 😠
it has no sound yet
It’s the principal, DRUMS SUPREMACY
are the journeyman flying mounts obtainable e.g. wyrmling? How do they work
flying mounts are mayor only currently afaik
My guildie found a wyrmling once yes. Need journey hunt and taming to tell you anything tho. Unless they were in p1
streamer/exploiter mayor benefits. it's so gamey atm.
they are probably gliding mounts
noone as gotten them yet
here is the only time we have seen gliding mounts in action on dev streams

those were there in phase 1 as well, but I haven't seen a single person get an actual animal from them
aah i see
same goes for the gryphons
I think I personally hunted ||(petted to death)|| around 150 gryphons and not a single animal dropped, just carcasses
Is the mage nerf in today or is that a ptr thing?
we shall see
Apologies if this is an ignorant question, but I couldn't find and answer for it on the wiki. For the purposes of clerics, is there a healing power rating, or does their damage and healing scale based on magic power rating?
There is gear with Healing Power specifically, like Halcyonite Earrings
https://ashescodex.com/db/item/Gear_Accessory_Earring_Halcyonite?widget=true
1 Magic power increase provides the same amount of healing as it would 1 Healing power. However, Healing power is not boosting the Magic damage.
shell is 8 seconds. the nerf is in
neutered mage
looks like if you demote a profession there might be a cooldown to promote another since its no longer letting me
How the hell does Echo work?
I mean the tamables, carcasses have been in from P1
Do Rangers have any type of self heal?
Regeneration, but otherwise no
Are wands good for cleric?
It seems to attack fast and the finishers trigger bless weapon often.
is the dual class system out yet
Phase 3 after May
Yes, its just a preference
book is slower, but does aoe
hows tank?..im downloading game now think ima role as tank
tanky :P
ty shadow
It's a very important role, but can be rough solo
can we do the secondary classes yet?
No, that is coming in Phase 3 I believe, starting with Tank and Cleric
cool cool
Being solo as a tank is definitely rough you end up with groups lost in the sauce and rack up xp debt
But when you get a good group it is very interactive and fun to play
I've been leveling a Tank, and pre-10 feels pretty good so far. It must get worse later, huh? 😅
'Cause the journey to 9 has been smoooth grindin'
Well you are probably grinding with ppls alts at that point but post 20 tank is rough cuz there are people hard stuck at 20 cuz they're bad with mechanics
Mages , Rangers and bards like to hit random things with aoe
Been entirely solo to 9 so far, but I'm probably gonna wanna group for Church or something
I literally just smacked Grems and Wolves for a while 😄
I've heard the struggle, so can't wait to hit those higher tiers and see what the fuss is about
I mean technically you can solo to 25 but what fun is tank when not fighting 10 mobs at once feeling invincible
Is the apocalypses from bard bugged?
yes, 3 red is bugged and completly useless 90% of the time
3 blue works fine, but noone wants to search for the coloured rings during combat
3 yellow is pretty good for a heal/speed buff
all of them require sacrifcing the passive saga buff to use tho
Hello i woud no if the nerf mage has been tested by the devs or if its only like that they tell themselve that is ok ? .........
Mages I've talked to prefer it. No rng proc and lightning ball was just stupid fast procs anyway
I have gotten my cleric a nice magic sword and love it. Short bow and magic sword is realy nice, the sword does aoe also 😄
Lightning ball was surely a little too powerfull but now its completely useless they kill it literally.
Not entirely. It stacks volatile.
Even if it did like, max 200 damage, the volatile stacks make it worth it
Bards should be able to better track their themes to rotate them.
yeah 50% is to much, should have been like a 20% nerf if anything
I mean, we have a channel cast bar telling us when to cast the next one? Once the channel is complete, change melodies. Not sure what else you're looking for within the UI to indicate a change is needed
?? I'm speaking about how the buffs arrange. Say I was to maintain 2 reds and 1 blue.
Memorizing that is annoying, especially when your buffs suddenly rearrange out of order on the buffs UI. If the left-most buff is exactly what theme is about to be overriden, it'd add to the skill of keeping rotating buffs without it being frustrating
Ah the stories, I missed what you were referring to.Yeah the buffs UI needs some love for sure. I know the UI is something that's not complete yet but I'm sure they'd appreciate that feedback.
Yeah, it's just difficult to distribute feedback at least through the Discord. Not sure who to contact
The forums would be the best place for feedback that's not a bug.
Any mages actually get aftershock to work? Should be as simple as applying staggered with firebolt then using chain lightning which should then double hit, right?
i thought maybe after this patch where they adjusted it then it would work
It’s worked since phase 1, it does not proc sometimes because stagger doesn’t apply, most likely due to DR
The questing feels super disjointed. Alot of the kill quests dont pop the NPC. Just been doing the kill 30 goblins quest over and over
i for one at least cant get aftershock to work no matter what i do.
can mobs do critical damage? Just to know if the "critical avoidance" stat is more a pvp thing?
yes. pretty sure they can
I did not realise that skills in your hotbar flashed when your target has a debuff the skill can exploit. Wonderful design
I've been scared to play my mage since nerf
Give me rogue
lightning ball is dealing 10-20% of the damage it used to. everything else feels fine tho
Ouch! When they said they halved the tick rate of it, I assumed they would adjust the damage per tick to compensate
volotile is still useful
for a combo of group and solo would you say ranger or fighter is better?
Something that you missed for dozens and dozens of hours even though it's under your nose can be called "wonderful design"?
This reads funny to me 😁
exactly, there need to be a comprehensive tutorial document exactly stating every singular feature in the game for every iteration of the alpha || /s ||
it can be easy to miss, but that its there at all is wonderful
lightning ball is like magma field now -----"useless)
started playing ranger today, i understand now why every ranger player cries like a b1tch from time to time... their scatter shot doesn't work uphill 😂
Yikes...
Thats terrible 😕
Wish mages had more unique build options
Like full on ice mage or full burn mage. I know it's been overdone but...
Or a mage that dabbles in all and gets extra perks for not being a specialist
yeah. but i only have to deal with it till sometime after may
most likely closer to the end of the year
Skill nerfed by 50%; reee my skill was nerfed by 90%!!!
at level 15 id hit for around 800+ on a single target. now at 19 its still between 100-200
Fighter
depends on the individual, most people can't handle melee cos they're either blind or a tad rtarded... just pointing out the truth.
Do most fighters wear heavy armor?
Typically at least 3 pieces of medium and the rest heavy / medium, depending on the stats
Essentially Fighters ( and Rangers ) will wear anything with Strength or Dexterity, it doesn't really matter if it's light-medium-heavy
thanks! Appreciate the reply
if you jump, you can shoot it a little bit uphill lol
Am i just terrible or is mage kinda hard to solo grind with
I never had much trouble… what are you grinding?
does anyone know the conversion of physical mitigation, magical crit avoidance, phys crit avoidance, etc, from constitution and mentality? the game says 1 point of con/wis = 1 of magical crit avoidance/phys crit avoidance, is that 1%, or .5%?
also i noticed that the character sheet isn't properly reporting bonuses from items (base items showing 0 on hovering over phys/crit avoidance etc), is that the right tooltip or is it bugged?
1 rating
Go to avoidance on your character sheet, mouse over it to see what % your avoidance rating will give you
Are you using your Chills and Freezes? Even at low levels you should be able to just:
Frostbolt -> Autoattack ( Freeze ) -> Lightning Strike ( Shatter )
Remember to keep jumping backwards to maintain distance and you should be good
Yeah Ranger is in a really bad state
My experience is that anything worth farming 1 at a time has a strong ranged attack so keeping my distance doesnt work too well and anything i farm in groups survives my first freeze shatter combo and initial aoe burst and then gangs up on me. Though tbf I havent really experimented too much with different mob types bc if i incorrectly pick a fight i just die
Idk if im picking the wrong fights or kiting incorrectly or my gear is just bad or what
I hear ya, try farming:
- The "Marauder" or "Defender" humanoids ( HH, CSB )
- Animals ( Bears, Otters, Frogs )
- Ghosts ( you can avoid Visage / Fireball by rolling into it )
- Zombies ( just dodge the green puddles )
- Scorpions
- Golems ( if you have decent physical mitigation )
Yeah i've found zombies pretty nice to farm but I don't know of any good spots for them for lvl 16. By ghosts you mean the ashen haunts?
Yeah, those ones. They can be kited easily and the only ranged attack they have is Blazing Visage, which you can dodge by rolling into.
I used to solo farm the 3* Forsaken Marauders in CSB ( they're level 18 ) with a Warrior, they gave about 20k xp each and they're incredibly easy
Ill give it a try, thanks for the info
Yeah, it's kinda annoying, especially when (for example) the Mage's lightning ball DOES travel uphill.
but the prismatic beam doesnt
what?
thats not an exploit
thats...not what i meant by exploit.
a core mechanic of the combat is to apply debuffs with skills, then use other skills to exploit those debuffs. or rather, to boost the power of those skills by building off the debuff
Frozen to lighting into shatter passive for example
It doesn't? I'll be honest I never tried but that's very curious. I wonder if it's intended for certain skills to account for terrain height and others not to.
just shoots straight forward
has a little bit of upward and downard AOE to make up for it I think.
Not sure what level you are but it does get a bit easier as you level up. Still hard though compared to other classes. With the right spec you can keep a single target locked down with chilled and frozen, but multiple targets is tricky.
Also some targets like bears will shake off repeated freezes, the first one will stick but the second one the bear will move and charge even though it has 3 seconds left of freeze.
probably a bug.
Yeah some mobs can only be frozen once, then they get a buff called "freeze immunity" for a short time.
even without the buff itll happen
The thing about Freeze is it only stops the mob from moving, but they can still cast abilities while frozen, plus it doesn't seem to interrupt channelled abilities. For example the grem have their wild charge attack, if they use it before being frozen they will keep moving forwards even whilst frozen
if the buff is there they cant receive frozen or chilled debuff, but some mobs will still move with the frozen debuff applied, like bears on repeated freezes.
grems are just buggy, and bears (2 star) will charge forever too if its during their charge.
they also dont care about gravity, some bears can float in air after charing on a hill.
It's amusing that the most common enemies in the game are arguably the most dangerous (grem, wolves and ravens).
Wolf = Fast af
Grem = Will bite you from 20 meters away for half your hp somehow
Raven = Dive DIVE DIVE!!
Haha yep. I think Intrepid have played a few dark souls games and thought "let's make our wolves do the same thing" 😁
I think wolves and ravens are fine, just the grems need their giant range revoked.
Im lvl 16. Tbh I havent made a lot of use of frostbolt + auto bc i use book and i feel like the finisher comes out too slow for it to keep them back. I mostly use hoarfrost + cone of cold but its a long cooldown and you need to be close for it.
I also dont make use of blink as much as i should bc they are either fast as fuck so i dont get any meaningful cooldown regen time or the area is small so i risk blinking past other players and i dont feel like training mobs on anyone
its the same speed as all other ranged weapons
at least in my experience, they may have different white damage attack timing, but the finishers happen at the same times.
Really? I havent used another weapon in a while. So the proc only happens at the end of the attack chain and they are all the same length? Like how book does the 2 shots and then one big one and wand does 5 or 6 into the beam
in my limited testing of the ranged weapons, comparing shortbow, book, longbow. It seemed to be that way yea. Didnt time it to say exactly but it felt that way for sure.
I would recommend switching to wand for faster frozen procs. My single target rotation is typically lightning orb -> frostbolt -> wand attacks until frozen -> lightning strike -> frostbolt -> wand attacks until frozen -> firebolt -> combust -> firebolt firebolt
shatter doko?
ok your lightning ball hits by that time its frozen.
Depending on the distance sometimes the ball will proc for the shattered, sometimes not.
Either way it doesn't really matter. The lightning ball is mainly there to apply the volatile stacks
I like using a longbow, going for big damage and big crits
currently sitting at 250 magic power and 20% crit at level 19, burn the crap out of enemies with magma, conflag and my bow giving bleed (and keen edge)
Tried the longbow, didn't like the feeling. Prefer rapid fire of the wand or shortbow personally. Same goes for my ranger, much prefer the shortbow
yea to each their own, really disliked the longbow on phase 1 of alpha 2
I was a book main.
But I dislike how its hard to solo farm with the book (aoes all the mobs lmao)
Hmm
Big bow means big damage!
Haha it does
I think everyone I group up with on my friends list prefers the shortbow.
faster numbers.
especially the rangers as they like to bob and weave, get more pulls of the bow per jump and dodge.
You think thermal equilibrium is worth to spec into for more burns?
is that the one for shocked + Burn or the freeze to continue conflag?
2nd one
if you can keep them frozen its nice, I use it with blizzard.
I haven't found a good way to incorporate that into a rotation. Conflag doesn't last long enough to keep it renewed
Not sure if they fixed it but the shocked + burn is bugged, the burn is always the same damage no matter what.
same for the shatter + aftershock is bugged, shattering a staggered frozen target only triggers shattered not aftershock as well. (when using chain lightning)
Oof
Is that why chain lightning has felt really bad for a while
Thats good, i havent tried it since the buff
anyone in here who mains ranger? is scattershot's 2nd charge buggy? like the 2nd charge just disappears sometimes after casting the 1st charge?
Yes it happens frequently. Sometimes when it does it feels like it invisibly fires an uncharged one because I see a second damage number go off. The solution that works sometimes for me is to keep holding the key longer than you think you need to
i see, i'll give it a try.. in 2 days lol
When Côme rogue ?
sometime between now and march i think?
every time someone asks its delayed by 1 hour. I think we are up to PTR in march by now
Has anyone tried cleric with stacking con/men yet? It's on my bucket list. Testing whether I can become immortal 🤣
i play my cleric in heavy, scepter and shield, melee with blessed, and laugh as im a solo god in my circle of full heal. backed up with anything that dmgs and insta heals. only 14 though.
wait till your cleric gets it's dirty hands on daggers
Well, as soon as daggers are out, I'm assuming rogue will be too, and that's my real baby.
Public testing is end of Feb if no delays.
Which means March
This was confirmed by Steven in Thors interview btw
28th Jan for PTR testing, and end of feb for public testing
If the timeline is maintained
oeh, so i get to play around with rogue next week! nice!
If you have PTR then yes yes! 🙌
Yes but as with all things in Stevenland, you have to add +2weeks to the Steven Timezone
I am intrigued as to how Summoner will play into other classes more than the rogue, even though 99% of server pop will probably be a rogue for a short time
i do, i'll let you know how it goes 😄
i wany summoner so bad, hopefully it enters with more than just wolves and birds.
I expect the initial summoner will immulate the NPC abilities to a egree, so wolves and birds may be your initial poison
we'll see
and keep fingers crossed 😉
also hoping for them to be able to summon mounts, rations, weapons, "pets", just wondering how much they are going to lean into it from other games
though in theory crafting, I would like to see the warlock (mage+Summoner) get imps that randomly echo abilities cast from the mage skills. The Shadowmancer (summoner+Rogue), get summons that go into stealth and the Conjurer (Summoner+Summoner) to get the ability to summon elementals.
I do not think we need to summon mounts... I think that would deprive a vital crafting skill
Unless you are a Paladin, then you should be able to summon a steed.
LOL
-_-
well, they already said the crafting items will be the best in the game, but would be neat if they could summon one better than the horse that also looks rad.
I did love the EQ enchanter summons
only they can use of course. and EQ was exactly what i was thinking of
used to hand my summons weapons
the floating sword and shield and mezzing for CC. my brother played the hell out of enchanter
i was basically eating glue during EQ1 because i was 10ish, but i played a lot of EQ2
LOL I was a lot older than 10
imagine a group of ranger/summoner that summon an army of Grems
I am ancient 😄
yea, my brother was 10 years older than me and i started playing them because of him
I have a feeling that the Ranger+summoner (Falconer) will have birds by the name alone 🙂
Now the Summoner+Ranger I imagine having wolves and bears
beastmaster
I do wish they would adopt taming of animals for rangers, but that would probably tip the scale of balance in PvP
dev reading and taking notes
"Charm Animal" would be interesting
make it so it aggros the ranger/summoner once the pet takes certain % of damage
As long as there were level and type restrictions
tbh, I am just a lover opf pet classes, always gravitate towards them, that and support
well, the charm breaks and also caused massive threat to the beast, so now he is forced to either kill it and what he was originally attacking or conintously keep it charmed
WoW I feel made a huge error in standardizing pets by role
for the hunter
I remember when Mastermind came out for City of Heroes, I played the crap out of it
i didnt play a lot of hunter, and when i did it was back in wrath. i was more shaman/rogue/warr/lock kind of guy
I do love playtesting though, my friends and I have our test characters immortalized in DDO as NPC vendors
Speaking of shamans, I hope there is something that is like a enc shaman
Bard is the closest to the shaman. swap out totems for dances and melodies. and resonant weapon for windfury
going to assume that Fighter+Bard will be the closest
LOL Miss the EQ Bard as well, those little trouble makers
begging for SoW because you have to run across the world in the dark with a torch.
Dark Age of Camelot had interesting variations of Bards
i just cant wait until the dust settles closer to release to see how these classes end up. i havent played one yet that i dont enjoy
yeah NGL, I have been playing dozens of games throughout the years to get this feeling of a MMO again
also enjoy being able to respec on the fly. i hope they keep it in.
they are not
LIE TO ME
they are
ty ❤️
nah respec on the fly should go away
i guess it just depends on how many dead talents we will end up with on the final version of the trees
well, we already know that once you select your second class it will be locked in. Respecs should be allowed through a monetary contribution of in game currency and possibly a small religious quest imho
i thought i saw an interview where the second class can be changed, just going to be hard to do so
You can change your secondary class but your main is locked in
I am pretty sure it is locked in, I could be wrong though... The wife tells me I am quite often
see she is right
if you change your secondary class you lose all your levels gained thus far in it
ooof
current timer for that is 2 weeks per change
Thank you Shadowheart
you will need to make a new character if you want to change your main class
ofc this is all subject to change
so only take this info with a grain of salt with how early the development is rn
I would rather they both lock in, but I am a glutten for punishment
secondary class being able to change with a lot of effort is good. I dont have enough names for alts if it couldnt
well the regrinding of all that experience and skill points will be enough of a punishment
squeeze too hard and people will just not play
game is hardcore enough already with open world pvp and such 😅
Fair, I am just hoping the process to change is at least an inconvenience that is at least monetarily and timewise so great that you cringe at the thought of going through the process
i think this is going to end up being a lot of older gamers flocking to it. 30-60 years. We dont mind grindfests as long as we are enganged.
oh itll be a major inconveniance. There will be a monetary and time punishment
plus the 2 week timer before u can change again
I'm excited for the servers to come back up!
Can Fighter Blitz become a Trip? ❤️ for whoever Dev is reading
Are you asking if it's possible right now or are you asking them to implement it?
Mage enchanted weapon. Put on fighter or tank? Why for both?
Tank will net more procs if that matters for any kind of feedback loop (a la blessed weapon). It also helps with threat generation. If it's a static amount of damage, more procs also = higher DPS. If damage scales with weapon damage, then fighters would probably be the play.
either add stagger or trip on the blitz

I could agree with that. Tank gets stagger on Charge.
or add effects such as stagger or bleed on Blitz depending the stances
I don't know how likely it will be for them to implement it, though. Since form of celerity adds stagger to finishers already and snap CC could be abused.
also why are stances on global cooldown? it takes forever to swap stances as a fighter mid combat?
Early design implementation. There will be plenty of internal balance passes to smooth out the gameplay loop.
imo they should guarantee a trip for fighter same as the tank has
forcing stagger in this one shot meta is so clunky
Would definitely help with setting up CC on casters, instead of having to build into it and missing CC rotations because of it
Fighters are a little bare on stops and CC. They could use a little more meat to their kit.
tbh im not asking for much, i feel like main issue is just forcing stagger for trip
Atleast give figthers a real defensive 😁
other than that i can live with the slow stances 🤣
i mean, having some form of mitigation buff would be nice, just to dive in and create chaos
right now playstyle is too much as an assassin
Form of fluidity is meant to buff your disable resistance. I think that's all we're getting.
stance dancing is useless with the long gcd and animation
its only okish in pve
but y if a dev is reading
make fighter insta trip, or if possible add stagger to blitz ❤️
Atleast remove stager req from cataclysm 😅
i can live with that
but thats the minimum
common devs, give the
some love, theres too few of us around
Go fight elites that don't die in 30 seconds and use whirlwind on cooldown. The difference in speed and dmg done between this one ability with and without attack speed procs + form of ferocity is huge. We're talking about slow + boring af whirlwind vs fast + not boring whirlwind. Now forget about attack speed procs, totally take away form of ferocity for celerity for trips if the group you are running with is a tad rtarded(and yes this is alot of groups just because they don't kick/trip/interrupt when they should be doing it all by default, not to mention peeling for the cleric that pulls everything), whirlwind becomes the slowest form of a borefest across the board even with attack speed procs in this stance. P.S. this is supposed to be the fighter's biggest aoe ability so yes it's not a small deal. It's so slow, most fighters never use this in pvp because it's that sh1t. No other class has an ability that relies so much on a proc and a stance btw.
What does stagger do? Is it any good?
It allows you to set up for trips with Crippling Strike and Cataclysm, this can then combo into maim for big damage.
For large PvP you need something to root people for the pretty long wind up for it to be viable. Testing for small group you can use it if you set up for yourself with a Knock Out, as long as you know to pull damage for the set up.
Stance Dancing requires the perk for it to be viable and you have to build in a spot in the rotation for the switch. Be it during a stun or while you’re waiting on CDs.
I just don’t like that fighter’s snare shares cooldown with the trip. Though an argument can be made that you can build snare into your kit by giving your deadly and extended deadly finisher snare chance instead of bleed. This would give you more control thought it will mean you need to stance dance to apply bleed with overpower or cleave to set up for Rupture and Lethal Blow.
hi all, Cleric/Fighter makes templar. So i know there isnt any information on this as the archtypes arent release yet. But i cant help but think it will be like a holy paladin in WoW. lol I don't know what im trying to ask, I think I just want someone to clarify with me and say, "Yes thats exactly the class" I have had one person say "Templar will not be a healer people will want, it will be solely for solo play." so disappointing if that becomes the case
we simply do not know. Hoping for some good holy dps ish variations of cleric/x or x/cleric though, don't want to always be pure healer
Is there any other 20+ heavy gear besides rividium that gives mage stats?
Well and librarians circlet
Yee. Planning for 3/5 heavy and light.
yo upvote

ww in pvp is great as it grants you immunity to cc
But yeah fighter relies too much on procs and momentum in meta where fight ends in 3-5 skills
I belive it wont be so bad IF they change it for the fights to last longer by either reducing power of enchanting or increasing defenses.
But rn it sucks
Same with our defenses, you rarely get a chance to profit from blood fusion, though it might require nerf if fights last longer.
im ok with how fast the combat is, it would just be cool if Blitz gets the same effects from stances as Overpower/brutal cleave does. for example adding a stagger to it, makes alot of sense to me, where you can combo trips. Atm its just not so easy to force a trip if your forced to global an attack first with how much damage u receive
And longbow staggers is pretty RNG, by the time you trade with a mage your already dead
Oh yeah i completely agree with your points. I just dont think this low ttk is healthy for the game
That + rolling 3-4 times in a row
i agree, this should not be allowed: https://medal.tv/games/ashes-of-creation/clips/jxl8fraPYaNVsviQo?invite=cr-MSwxTjIsMzIxOTczNDA4LA
Watch 8v8 3 - Blitz into Incap into Dodge and millions of other Ashes of Creation videos captured using Medal.
Best case scenario i could think off to make the fighter class interesting would be: Add Root, Incap or Stagger to Blitz (depending on the stances) or
make a Trip instant. and stances no GCD or faster casts, imo its too slow to stance dance in pvp
I hate stance switch too. Root on blitz would be great. So at least people would have to roll BEFORE getting hit by blitz which is still relatively easy to do.
Now you charge in and they roll away dodging staggers, slows, incaps or whatever you throw at them
We dont know until we get the augments BUT, base kit wise, Fighter is horrible in actual practice. Just end up being a wound bot with a bow
😂
you agree too right,
AOC DEV⚠️ : Add Root, Incap, Stagger on Blitz (Stance Dance) Make Stance faster or make a trip instant ❤️
Wholeheartedly and while we're at it. Lets buff tanks and fix them too, shall we?
nerf bard into the ground
Uses wings of salvation to break cc and walk away
People never believed me when I said Bard DPS, they learned.
Whatcha hitting for? I'm 11.5k 👉👈
i think the most he'll hit for this stage is about 17-20k
and that'll require triple weapon enchant from wizards + cleric and then another bard casting wonder
I'm intrigued by this. I've hit up to 5800 when the shock stacks drop and a few mages are having fun with volatile. How are you getting 11k+?
I'm pretty sure its my wand build alongside crit power. Catalytic projectiles, etc. Sent you a screenshot.
Much appreciated, I'll check out out and hopefully snag a wand sometime soon. Haven't gotten one yet but for lack of trying
A good level 10 base legendary wand without enchanting is about as strong as a 20 heroic with some enchanting.
oh we're way behind that, Im only like 360 mag power
I understand that there is a lot of issues brought up about outgoing damage, but instead of nerfing damage would a buff to defensive gear be also within reason?
started on Lyneth 4 days late and the competition doesn't require much more mag.
Ya ttk needs adjusting
Ultimately only tanks have any proper defensives
Mages shield got nerfed but its ok still.
Other than that, sustain is the only defense and spamming evade.
I think the issue most people arer having is they don't understand to dodge roll as an evasion.
Cleric: Indicator for wings of mercy that shows you are within target range of target so that it doesn't use spell on self even if target is being displayed as being able to be cast on. Communal restoration cancels cast sometimes with divine infusion ( a case of trying to cast too fast). Flash heal can be used while sitting. Other than that I'd buy the guys that made the class a beer no joke.
It happens with judgement too, not just communal restoration
So it's probably a problem with divine fusion
Outside of the meta dialogue about it not being their focus rn: as more items become available to us, which I'm sure they're thinking of, we'll start seeing more middle of the road pieces that favor both MDR and PDR; although, I'd definitely agree that tank prefix/static attributes need beefing up
Proper defensives and it still doesn't matter, you get melted. It's a joke, no tank feels like qn actual tank
the values MDR and PDR are giving are just too low, combine this that they increase by 1 when upgrading an item, it is a joke compared to getting 1 stat with all the waterfall benefits at the same time. so +10 STR is way more offensive that the +10PDR/MDR will give you. Maybe a multiplyer on those stats say x10 would work so for upgrading a gear piece +1 you get lets say 1 STR but 10 PDR on it. offence is just outscaling defense massively in the current meta.
new player here - got a question about weapons for bards; using spell greatsword for PvE; is wand prob my best bet for pvp?
wand/book/s-longbow all are decent for the burst. wand and book give you buffed base damage and some "magical" proc effects or CDR, while S-Longbow gives raw dmg and crit dmg + a bit more Range
also I have the feeling the extended finisher procs more often on the bow than on wand/book right now but that might be a bug 🙂
Hmmm I see. Spell long bow seem pretty fun to proc finishers on lol. I’ll have to give both a shot. Ty!!
Guy just posted this on vyra chat. Yup, not tanky at all.
If they reduce TTK which they eventually, probably have to, this guy is only gonna stay alive longer and probably live through it all when healers get in range.
Lol from those numbers and the amount of ppl hitting him I can already tell, he was mitigation bugging which is fixed now so this clip is really irrelevant. He didn't even blow full cds, if he did he would've been alive for way longer
Either that or every1 hitting him isn't geared whatsoever meanwhile he is
sure, if you want to turn the game into a never ending gear treadmill. I rather have gear power gains capped to sane levels, so pvp is actually fun without a brainless grind.
That's not what I'm say, it shouldn't be a cold war between defensive stats and offensive stats, all I'm saying is instead of reducing the stats on the weapons you increase the effectiveness of armors.
I get that, however if you dont nerf the impact of damage related stats, and just increase the value of def stats, thats going to be the result. Such changes would just add extra steps to resource/gear grind, and people without enchanted weapons and defensive gear will be left behind even more so, pointlessly grinding 1% drop rate mats before they can join the "fun" content.
It's going to be a grind regardless? With the enchantment and crafting systems it will always incentivize players to continue to progress, the game isn't meant to end at max level. Should they limit the power peaks from enchanted and legendary gear? Probably, but why should a player/guild who is willing to put in the effort to get that slight edge not be rewarded for playing the game?
I rather have a game in which everyone can engage in all game systems, and where stats do not >>>> all. but then I prefer economy, politics, and pvp on whatever level based on player skill, group comp and cohesion, instead of being forced to constantly chasing a carrot, or you will be irrelevant. Yeah, I know a weird expectation.
i killed a 25 mage with bubble up with my 15 ranger just stat stacking... so stat stacking needs a nerf.
game is literally nothing but stat stacking atm
Everyone can engage in the system, no one is barred from crafting or enchanting? So spending your time in game to acquired important materials to upgrade/craft gear shouldn't have incentive? You can use you're economic skill, or political pull to set up a means to get those things. Or in case of PvP be able to out perform someone, that is of similar gear level. Someone who has committed the resources to get good gear to fight shouldn't be penalized because of that.
I'm not saying stat stacking shouldn't be kept in check
Intrepid designers
Hey fellas, when looking for groups, is there less clerics or bards?
tbh it depends on the time of day and server. Some days bards are nonexistent, some days clerics are nowhere to be found. Same for tanks.
What I would recommend is making one of each (not saying to level them both), and look at chat for about 10-20 mins and see which one you see a greater need for during your regular play times. From there, pick the one to start leveling and delete the other character slot.
there's actually alot of cleric and bard players.. the main issue you can't find them is either 1. time of day(are americans asleep?) or 2. level gap difference or both
the whole level difference changing loot % drop rates....idk if i like it atm
not if the power gap is this large and not if Intrepid wants to maintain a healthy population in the test env and after the release. Engaging in the game systems / games makes sense only if you can compete. In a game with an open world design, and so many pvx systems, players who naturally fall back behind in the gear race, will simply drop off, if the stat provided power gap is too large. This is surely not hard to understand. People play games because they can win and lose. No one is going to be paying a sub to be a free meal.
@umbral seal @paper gyro I see, thank you both!
Sure thing!
Also keep in mind you can honestly play either one and find a group. Bard is likely a little more laid back then Cleric. (If Clerics underperform, tanks die, teams wipe). Bards are still important, definitely, just a little more laid back. Especially with Rogue about a month away from expected release, both of these classes are going to be in much higher demand.
I made a cleric and i understand why alot of them underperform or fail. It's not cos the average cleric is that bad at all, it's because the aggro system is currently sh1t(hopefully this changes) and there's so many braindead dps players that don't peel thus making it the most stressful class atm(in a group setting).
how does a dps peel? they have some cc sure, but like 80% of the time mobs are immune to it cause its been used to set up damage spikes
chill/freeze immunity is almost permanent(cause snare is used on weapons a lot) and mages use chill to set up the shatter combo
bards use thier cc to kick mobs to prevent mob skill usage(and all bard cc counts as stun, so does freeze, so they cause immunity)
fighters use trip as part of thier combo, which causes trip immunity
the dps cant out threat a healer
so only the tank can peel, by generating more threat than the cleric
i outdps, pull aggro and often times tank on my fighter so i have no idea what you're on about. same with my level 15 ranger.
Is the mob one of the few that drop agro then go attack another target?
Like the goblins who do a sonic skill that is them rolling around to target another player, or the dwarf mages who put aoe fire under a random target
Or is the tank bad at their job, or dps going for maximum damage spikes in the first few seconds of a pull?
alot of subpar tanks around here but i'm just stating what i see across groups in general. the gap between groups that hold aggro perfectly fight and the ones that don't is pretty wide and most groups are on the later part of that gap.
only after making a cleric myself do i see the massive aggro issues cleric have outside of a well made premade group. I find myself not only keeping everyone alive but i have to run/dodge/dance around 5-10 mobs myself and keep myself alive while keeping everyone else alive at the same time. This exponentially becomes a sh1tt1er scenario when you're the only cleric in the group.
and then you got the whole other scenario where groups get trained by pyros and firestarters or whatever else and the cleric magically is the first one to pull and die without doing anything wrong.
One other factor that ties into this issue is probably the fact that i'm stat stacking and most arn't. The only players who are doing more dps/heals than me are the top 5% of players(give or take) who know how the game works, who are stat stacking and who are full on crafting.
One guy posted a pic of his cleric i believe a few days ago and the guy has 450 power or close to it.You can't get anywhere close to that without stat stacking, crafting and enchanting. I notice alot of the playerbase still doesn't know how to enchant gear, they think level 20 gear is the end all be all atm and how many people out there actually craft outside of the main guilds?
Bards have a threat reducing ability - have you clerics encoutered bards using this on you?
It's group wide 1000% threat reduction, it's not targeted
Honestly I don’t see aggro issues on my Cleric. Damage is chunky but aggro is usually fine with most groups.
Get a better tank. Good tanks will rotate their aggro abilities in group settings never letting the aggro drop. If that happens, leave the group or find a new tank
Resident cleric here with almost 400 Magical power
If no tank, I grab all aggro, Since my HOTS and con can keep me alive
😂👀
Idek how this is possible
You could be spamming intimidating aura on cd and have perma aggro of everything
Unless something new gets leashed and your aura is on cd for whatever reason and even then if it's a single one you got your single taunt
Changing targets and just dpsing the mob is also a thing the tank can do, if your puller knows when to stop pulling aggro, then this works out just fine till skills are off cooldown
I think you are just playing cleric wrong. I’ve only been playing solo and just dps and then heal myself. Having to play healer in a group sounds horrible
Ok man
To be fair ur on eu where everyone is fully maxed and attacking everyone. Little unrealistic.
he's still mad at me for posting that vid lol
I mean even before that It was noticable x.x
No point really in trying to go tank tank build
Tanks are good, but they don't shine until they have a cleric/bard to support them
what kind of gear should I rock as a ret pally type cleric? heavy armour + spell sword?
i'll be 100% honest with you... if there ever comes a time when medium/leather armor is released with +int or +magic power, THAT is what you want. The way armor is setup in this game, Plate/heavy is solid for physical attacks(most of PvE mobs), but super weak to mage attacks(arsonists, etc) -- Cloth/Light armor is the same thing, but flipped for magic. This is fine in PvE, as you generally know the mob types, but for pvp? Theres so much yo-yoing of health because you can tank 1 type of damage, but get 1 shot by another. Medium armor is a balance of the two, and then you can further boost specifics(mentality elixirs, shields for armor, constitution scrolls, etc), but the "regular damage" will be balanced
as a cleric, makes it much easier to manage, we just dont have a good set of caster medium armor atm
You mean like the Medium Int set Rosethorn?
Rosethorn is a good caster medium set
Ah that looks ideal. Where do I get it?
Gimmie rogue
can we have a "Bluff" type of skill for rogue, like in Lineage 2? I think it's quite unique
its pretty much impossible to lose aggro on tank if you just use one particular skill
And i mean AoE aggro
Can anyone tell me what kind of gear/armor is best for a ranger lvl 25? Should I go for medium and focus on dex/crit chance/crit power or better for heavy and focus on str/phys power? Usually I would say dex/crit... but right now it feels better to go for power/pen... but I just did a little testing so far and I dont want to roll on stuff that I dont really need
The weight category benefits are too little compared to items better statted. Where items lie currently you should end up with medium and heavy armor almost exclusively, with a leaning toward heavy. There are also some lvl 1 pieces better to use than lvl 10
With enchanting it is best if you can wear stuff that is lvl 10, with dex and str. Go for lvl 20 blue weapons if you can.
Many thanks so far. This is how my stats look atm (lvl 23). Can you tell me anything about what is better to go for high dps (power/pen or crit chance/crit power)? As I said right now I am more focused on power/pen
Crit kind of sucks cause arrowstorm and barrage can’t crit (imo). Pen on the weapon talents is good which it looks like you have. I am in favor of Str>Dex>power. Str gives you accuracy also. When you can enchant like sunhaven cape, or blue bone earrings, and green/blue halcyonite rings to +8. Most people don’t really focus on gearing until 25, but you can start now. 300 is kind of the good enough value, but it can get higher than that as you get geared. If you had 170 str instead of 62, your accuracy would go up to 17% which would be good.
I could give a bis list but security through obscurity. Would be more open if people could inspect but lots of people read this discord, and I have to pvp them
Edit: I’m wrong barrage can crit.
If you are just curious as to what options you have, you can go to a site like this: https://ashescodex.com/planner and mess around with different paths
Skill Trees and interactive Character Planner for Ashes of Creation
I would really like to see a stat aggregation section in that planner

is ranger good for solo farming?
Is there a consensus on long vs short bow for ranger?
Most enjoy short bow for faster attacks and pulls
Long bow gives more damage, but its a bit slower. Typically used by fighter or tank, who prefer melee
Thanks, gonna be switching to short and give it a go. Range difference doesn't seem substantial from the little I have messed with it. And the quicker auto is nice.
Ya I use longbow on tank just because I'm only shooting it a couple times anyways so may as well get a few extra damage
anyone got a mage wand and secpter skill tree that i can take a look at trying to see what i should be going with
Proc rate for finishers, deadly finishers, and extended deadly finishers is higher for longbow. Your finishers are also different for longbow than what you have to pick from on short bow. Also keep in mind for short bow in group play your snare will make mobs immune to chill which reduces a mages ability to freeze targets for shatter combos which massively reduces their damage output. Longbow also has perks for PvP aside from hitting harder and giving more stats so your abilities hit harder, longbow max range is higher than ability max range for ranger AND mage so it allows you to engage or kite more effectively with less risk.
Arrowstorm too strong but short TTK means longbow can 3 shot people when geared.
Ranger is ok but not good solo. You can solo kill mobs but you can’t aoe farm like most other classes. Better than tanks solo, that is about it. Mages can aoe heavy dps and root slow aoe kite, fighters regen blood, clerics can’t die, idk bards
Not sure where you’re pulling this from, ranger is great for AoE farming with more mobility than a mage for kiting. Yes it’s less big burst damage but triple penetrating scatter shot, the lightning shot applying shocked to all targets, double disengage, dodge roll vaulting, and a root. Unless you’re fighting pyros or get unlucky with mobs spamming charge abilities with no CD you can easily solo AoE farm. A lot of it comes down to how skilled you are with your movement, timing cd’s to interrupt/root abilities like bladestorm where mobs can’t reach you before the ability ends, and knowing the AI of the mobs. Also not forcing immunity buffs preventing you from countering the mobs. But that’s also required for pretty much any solo.
So is ranger's camo supposed to be random as to how invisible you are or is it bugged? Also doesn't seem to have any effect against mobs
Its a pvp ability
its bugged, has no effect on mobs
its supposed to be active camo like Halo
Problem is then that it does not state that
Should just be an update to the skill text though. "against other players"
Better yet, just make it work for pve and pvp
that would be wonderful
Reading PTR patch notes for next and assuming they go live, the tank changes are going to fundamentally change PvE. Personally I think it's good but man folks are going to cry when you cannot do mass pulls anymore.
def some bad changes
Link to changes?
Am I blind? I don't see anything about Tanks here
theres multiple images in the thread
you may have to have an x account to see the rest actually
Is this the one, basically?
That is just the desert changes. I saw them from no1 video and it has balance changes for most classes.
yeah but that just links to the same x thread i linked
wait i think i saw a raw text file somewhere one sec
shoutout @mint terrace
Mitigation will still be close actually...
So before it was 10% for courage, 10% for grit, 2% for iron aura. Now it's 20% for grit (double stacked) and 5% for iron aura.
Bigger thing is basically all the CD's got nerfed. Indomitable, fortify, intercept, absorption field. Along with a massive 50% less threat gen.
It will be interesting to see how it works out, overall I think they are good changes. As tank DMG is buffed and self sustain so solo play or small group play is way better. Along with PvP
FIghters beserk nerf is huge, bard nerfs are huge
kinda put off from continuing to play6
Seems a bit dramatic since they gave you a cc break for battle shout to replace it
Thank you! Prefer to linking X
"Pressing ESC will no longer cancel abilities that have consumed a cost. This will make it so that Bard Music isn't canceled by hitting ESC" 🫡
So if I read this correctly:
Bards = less dps, more support
Tanks = less tanky, more dps
Fighters = more versatily
Looks fine honestly
berserk nerf isn't as big, since you still swapping 1 point for another that does the same thing. imo the changes are fine in that regard b/c it means now our berserk is used offensively instead of defensively when cc'ed, which forced you to use it early when not intending to.
The BIGGEST issue is the nerf to our single target low cooldown trip going from Crippling Blow to Wallop. Wallop's animation is janky and makes it so that following up with Maim, you are only able to utilize 1 second of the trip itself since the animation of Wallop is so bad and it has a longer activation time on top of the animation itself being bad. Wallop also uses both mana and momentum, which is another big downside.
is camo visually bugged or its random whether it works or not?
it's a bug
and cleric change was quite good imo
gives more a tradeoff between mend/flash heal instead of one being better than the other in every way
looks like regens back on the menu boys!
Are there any class guides to help out a newbie?
Tanks being less tanky is kind of pointless to do. Adding dps is nice sure but ultimately our role is to tank not take over for fighters. But it’s just the base class I can’t wait to see what a guardian brings to the tankiness of the class
Experiment that’s what this is all for meta is useless, you will be an expert at launch don’t worry so much. We have free endless respecs
I just made my first Bard. Are the melodies supposed to last forever? The tooltip implies that they are only active for that 30ish seconds of channeling. My buff is continuously refreshing though.
Yes, Melodies are "fire-and-forget", you don't need to press them again
unless...you press esc or get stunned, then they vanish and you need to cast them again xD
With low damage and low sustain, it makes tanks virtually useless in PvP and unable to solo. Tanks needed a damage/sustain buff (which they got).
Threat got a massive nerf which was needed, a lv 15 tank is able to generate 3k AoE threat per second with 1 ability.
Mitigation we will see. Theoretically tanks have the same mitigation as before, but they are making tanks a build/spend class to maintain that mitigation. Which tanks are by nature reactionary so building through combos isn't reliable, meaning mitigation won't be as reliable. So this is more a "good to test and get feedback" change IMO.
worth noting that mob crit was significantly reduced as well. You can have 25% crit avoidance, currently, and still frequently be popped pretty hard. That could help alleviate some issues a tank face
Still feels like this would not be to strong because of the low duration of mark and the long cooldown, but it's atleast abit better sustain then before
Flash is an oh shit button. Mend was for small healing but will be better at it now. Deliverance was for bigger healing. None were the same thing though lol. Not interchangeable. But a lot of people used flash wrong which was a problem. I think this change should force them to only use it as emergency now.
The channeling will come into play later in the leveling when you get further up the skill tree. They're permanent unless you turn them off
@marsh coral @tame light @amber vortex Thank you all for the responses. 🙂
I don't like that it drops off when I press escape. I was wondering why it kept disappearing. I press escape to clear my target sometimes.
Where are you getting this btw I have looked through the last update on the 23rd it doesn’t mention any of this.
So when you multiclass, do you get the ability to use any of the weapons from that class? IE if I play Ranger as my starting class and then multiclass into rogue later when it comes out, will I be able to use either bow or rogue weapons?
You can use all weapons from the start. Everyone can. Gear too.
oooh okay

I appreciate this but it doesn’t answer the question what is the source. Did I miss something when I clicked the link for the update on the 23rd? Or is this a different update?
Yeah it's the same ( 25th PTR )
So I read through what I seen there and it mentioned nothing like this
I think you need to have an X account to view the whole thing, I got the transcript from Reddit
There are also some pretty massive changes for Bards and Fighters
This is all I got
Have to have an X account? 😩 that just seems pushy to me. Thanks for the info I do appreciate it.
You're looking at the updates for the Live version, we're talking about the PTR updates, which Intrepid does not publish on the website until they go live
deleted X and refuse to give him any clicks.
this is what I clicked on in news 🤷🏻♂️
Oh so these changes have not even come live yet?
The ones you linked, yes.
The ones we're discussing, not yet, they will turn live next Thursday
Check the Reddit link I sent and scroll down to the posts of user "Highborn_Hellest"
"Shrines will now automatically attune when you are a small distance away" -> This is going to be crazy good too
Ok so joining X just gives me a view of what’s to come
You don't even have to join X, people post them there for simplicity I think
bards?
What I mean is all the changes to tank and the stuff you posted that I didn’t know about that is not in effect yet that’s a future update
exactly, it's coming next week
Ok I don’t care about that as much lol thanks for the clarification

thx, I'm aware, it was a joke about the incoming bard changes. I suppose I'm pretty bad at this jester stuff.
F tank changes
less tanky, grit is troll now..vengeance finally started to become useful but got turned into ST, inciting strikes is still a meme skill and Slam got nerfed???
Well, people complained about Tanks not doing enough damage... they got what they wanted 🤣
Idk the base values on some of the skills are very very questionable
Inciting strikes being 50% to 75% now is ???
I saw it on no1 YouTube video. It's PTR so not under NDA but also not publicly posted.
I'm a bard, I mean bored
It hits twice, so from 100% to 150% is nice. It was already a really good threat ability and now it also builds courage. Overall it's solid
It’s ptr patch notes so it’s under nda but people who have access are allowed to post the notes so it usually gets posted to https://x.com/AOCIntel
Latest for all things Ashes of Creation. Intrepid Studios's new MMORPG currently in Alpha. Follow for updates, gameplay and more. Not affiliated with Intrepid.
thank you this was already resolved 🙂
not for long if the changes im hearing about from ptr go into the game
You can have it up all time. Im on ptr
so you can upkeep the 40 courage cost every 10 seconds?
You can click grit every 9-10 sec yeah
yeh its got a 10 second duration now
wasnt sure the courage cost was worth
Rolling a new character. For ranger, does shortbow = DPS, while longbow = spike damage?
sort of, yeah. I think longbow is also better for pulling because it ends up doing better aoe and using cooldowns better. so you can run out and pull then come back press buttons and do a bunch of damage and go pull again.
Okay cheers 👍
Any fighters got recs for leveling? I know class is weak, at 10 already
Fighter isn't weak but soloing in general is slow
Hey, anyone else noticed that chain lightning doesnt proc SHOCK charges, even though you have volatile from ball lightning and/or prismabeam?🤔
Anyone have tips for BiS Cleric gear?
Join a group, go to Highwaymen Hills, get a lot of Strength and Dexterity gear, profit.
Keep your head down until level 12, then you'll get Blood Fusion and you'll sustain yourself forever in both group play and solo.
Use Brutal Cleave, Raging Blitz and Battle Cry to build up Momentum, dump it on fully upgraded Whirlwind.
Fighter isn't weak in PvE... PvP is another story
Rogue kit got leaked today, looks pretty damn fun. Very single target as expected. Going to be tough to level with potentially
group up, I would not solo level after 10-12. Join a party for HH and other group POIs with good drops. Fighter has its issues as an archetype, but I wouldnt call it weak. some of that stuff should get addressed if Intrepid wakes up and addresses time to kill issues
I've just started playing and decided to pick bard as my class, however I die very easily and a lot of times; is there something I'm doing wrong? Am I supposed to dodge every single attack? I don't think I have enough stamina for all those attacks. While the game's quite fun, the combat is quite challenging for me.
have you picked up magic based weapons at the start?
I have, I have a scepter and shield for melee, and my default spellbook for ranged
Altough I don't really do melee attacks
At level 5 you get resonant weapon. Play cheerful melody, auto attack with any magic weapon, self heal when needed. When mana gets low, stop fighting and run pensive melody. For more damage run Menacing Melody and auto attack . This is faster damage but more dangerous. DON'T interrupt your auto attacks if possible. Change your settings to always auto attack.
I'm lvl 4, so for now that seems like a lot of respeccing in-between combat
But thanks a ton for the tips! I'll def try that out!
Sorry, I wasn't fully clear. For each non melody you cast, you get one point in resonant weapon. That includes things like flourish which you can cast twice. You want to build up 4 stacks and you can go up to 10. The 30 second timer resets for each cast so its easy to build up using any spell. Then your auto attack has to go through a full cycle and complete the finisher. If you look closely at the resonant icon there is a really tiny number to show stacks.
Where's it at
👀
For those on PTR how does tank changes feel?
https://youtu.be/Tz1XtuzCUr4?si=MNbMRawRTvsd5kgb
not sure but nyce covered it

Only one at fault for the leaks is a A1 player who was on the ptr
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
Im interested to see what all applies the poisons.
is bleed a good build for fighter?
It's pretty much what Fighters do by default? Not much to "build"
Brutal Cleave ( or Overpower ) into Rupture into Lethal Blow is the filler you'll use while waiting for Whirlwind to come online
@rigid mortar You made a vid regarding the tank changes from PTR already or nah?
no1 did
Kke ty
I heard sum about it but 👂 wasn't sure
obvs NDA but figured thoughts etc regarding it
na waiting til they go live
looks like only slightly different versions than the skills leaked a few weeks ago that are on the wiki
but the wiki versions have damage numbers
well this is fucking broken
also applied by death mark
yea saw that too, so rogue pops out of stealth, hits you with death's mark to make you take 10% more damage and than has 30 seconds to kill you (I assume they need last hit based on how it's worded) and they get 50% HP and skill resets
I suppose the downside is it won't work well in group fights cause they can't stealth unless they're far away from everyone, and if you're out in the wild alone sure they can gank you but you can delay fighting back and screw up their buff, or just not fight back and they get corrupted quickly cause they're trying to rush a kill
Seems very likely that rogue won't get many slots for large scale pvp and for pve content. Just not enough AOE potential. If the damage numbers are high then maybe a few will be slotted.
can someone link me to where the patch notes for each shutdown gets posted?
As long as people don’t understand the toolkit this will be the case. Once people figure out the flow of the class I see it being mandatory especially with the changes to the tank, and possibly getting nerfed. AoE blind reducing targets accuracy, AoE trip, shadow cascade dealing increased damage based on missing health and applying bleed and hemorrhaging to all targets hit by the AoE. it all comes down to how good you are with adapting to the situation and using your skills to gain advantage and using that advantage buff on the right skills at the right time. It definitely sounds like a high skill cap class and it’s better kitted for high single target damage with stacking poison and double duration bleed. The bleeds will also scale fighter damage as they will now be able to more consistently apply hemorrhaging to more targets. Bleed stacks will also be stacked back up faster after being consumed. I definitely see rogue as more of a support style damage for AoE and will shine in single target encounters for dungeon/raid bosses.
Also if there’s not the same conditions to the umbral cloak spell entering stealth you’ll have a way to reset stealth for marking your targets and gain another advantage buff.
Does anyone know if a bard with two melodies active with Counterpoint can have two effects from resonant weapon proc?
If I was running damage and mana, could I get the shocked effect and the mana return with 4 stacks or would I need 8 stacks to proc both at the same time?
Tank buffs where? - I think the changes were a nerf, no? Was it really necessary to touch our survivability skills?
