The MMO genre is basically dead at this point. After this total shitshow with Ashes, and New World crashing and burning too… who is going to risk real money on a new big MMO again? The risk is just way too fucking high. I genuinely think we’re never going to see a new good MMO again.

I had fun in Ashes while it lasted. Bugs everywhere, sure, but I could see the massive potential in the node system and the overall vision. I was genuinely hyped to watch it grow and evolve.

What happened really sucks. But I don’t think Steven scammed us. If anyone got scammed the most, it was probably him—years of his life, endless hours, and all that passion poured into a project that just collapsed. Money issues, board issues, or whatever the hell went wrong behind the scenes.

**Ashes of Creation COULD have been something amazing. Something that redefined the MMO world. I only spent around $500 after I finally pulled the trigger on a Voyager pack and bought more skins and such, others invested thousands and tens of thousands of dollars. BUT even those who got in at the kick starter did last for various reason. And example would be Tanko from the bottom rung guild Enveus he was a PI and got banned. The issues Steven faced were of his own design, he single handedly allowed bad actors like Polar, Aura(barcode), Enveus, FEDS branch(Death and Taxes), Starlegion, RDM and more continue to operate on the test effectively hindering development by months in end.

If he had taken the necessary steps and banned them when he should of then we would of been much farther along in testing and development and we wouldn't of had the issues we are facing right now with resignations because he would have blown passed any opposition that he and the team is facing now, because the issue wasent finding bugs and exploits to fix to continue development, it was getting the bad actors to stop before they did to much damage and they just couldnt

They wasted thousands of man hours and millions of dollars trying to reverse the damage these "guilds" did and it came to the point that funding just wasent there and hence the "ethical" disagreement between steven and the "board" started.

I believe that Steven fully intended to finish this game but truly TRULY lost sight of his vision and progress when phase 2 started a cpl years ago.

If this is the end, then I want to thank all the developers and the team for producing what could have been a great a game, sure it still had a way to go, but the basics we're starting to shape up. And while I know it fasionable to diss Steven he was a guy that had a vision that he wanted to make, so fair play, he could have probably been more open about the funding and the state of play, but clearly the board didn't like the return on investment and probably decided to takea PTW model like so many others, such a shame it could have been great
