Well I think it's whatever. Some people are there for the mount. Some people are there because the developers were not afraid to admit that they needed more players in PTR. It's already overrun which is why you should be able to PvP contest at least the best spots, as is there's only 2 xp grind spots that are lawless and there's better alternatives for xp so no one really bothers there.

This should improve stability, and make it easier to get through the queue and into the PTR itself. This restart will take around 10 minutes.

I don't think 15% xp and drops is really close to enough (considering drops are so low as it is), but I do think the sane argument is: griefing random people should not be incentivized, and deciding to risk pvp should be rewarding enough that pvp players are actually incentivized to go to leave randos alone.

My fear is that if/when they do this, PVE only players will get upset all over again, because their style of play will not be as profitable as PVPers

For whoever doesn't know about this, if you're about to craft something double check any interaction you do, on Lotharia (EU) WINTAKKEKR Rogue lvl 25 from NAMELESS guild and Abrikos Mage lv25 are "exploiting" by putting a crate on top of the crafting station npc and whoever tries to interact with the npc activates/flags pvp then they kill him and steal all the crafting materials you're carrying.

I hope this is not indended to happen on the main city of the game and today made lot of people lose a lot of gold/materials (I've myself just lost 50-100 gold worth of items cause of this)

There's no city guards covering those areas so they just force pvp on people inside city while crafting, then they steal the loot and grapple on top of the walls away of danger.

It's been happening all day I've seen hundreds of players dying to this. @vague leaf

Hell if they want to go quiet that's fine, as long as actual meaningful updates start coming out that shows that progress is actually being made to finish things. I'd rather have a handful of somewhat finished systems instead of 40 different ones sitting at 5-10% completion. Sometimes it’s just trying to do too many things at once. Being focused has many advantages. While a vertical slice is nice, being able to engage in one systems/components loop from start to finish is also nice, and shows they can execute their vision. We don’t know what is causing the disparity in what has been said or we expect from previous livestreams and showcases, maybe now scrapped, plans/systems, but it certainly doesn’t mean they are bad developers. What I would hope to see is them going dark for a month or two, and just hammering out the harbingers system. Heck don’t even worry about the PvP in those areas yet (I’m not saying get rid of it folks, put the pitchforks down). You don’t have to like the state of the game or progress being made, and you don’t have to be quite about it either. But it does feel like they are trying, just maybe need to readjust their efforts. Ah man I did it again with my wall of text, maybe do get the pitchforks

The original date didn't account for not knowing the industry at all. Two major events that delayed the project as well were Covid and as Axan stated, having to rebuild much of it from the ground up.

I would argue the move wasn’t about graphics in its entirety, there are plenty of features enabled by UE5 to my limited understanding that are otherwise unavailable on UE4. I also do not know the level of disparity between the tooling and how much of a ‘complete’ system would have to be ported/rewritten so maybe it was the best move to upgrade when they did knowing development would take significantly longer than originally planned.
