The botting situation is getting so much worse. They're almost always summoners with names like "xxyo" but occasionally run randomly generated names. You can tell they're bots because if you beat them to the next node they are going to harvest, they will ALWAYS attempt to harvest the node youre about to get. They aren't smart enough yet to determine someone else beat them to it. They're completely rampant in every area of the servers now. @wintry arch im sure you've relayed this info already but just in case you wanted to hear more feedback. Our guild has people reporting them full time.

Yes, this is happening on multiple servers for this boss, some people dont have a job bro and this boss is the best way to econ if you can lock it down. Whether they are selling the item with RMT or not is something intrepid will have to detect separately but these are not bots, tons of people play the game nonstop and keep alt characters at bosses to login on timers.

i don't mean to cause offense but the Intrepid team is over a week late at this point with delivering the ban waves and ban list that we were promised would be coming "early next week" on Saturday, January 3rd. in the meantime, settlement buffs have been removed, buy order rewards have been disabled (although you can still definitely turn in buy orders so people are getting baited into doing that), destinies are bugged, the harbinger still isn't in the game (this was literally called Harbinger Update, right?) lawless POIs aren't functional, and basic issues like not getting more xp for crafting higher-rarity items that have been around since phase 2 have gone unaddressed.

the only things that seem to be working are the crates and mules, which are the things being exploited by botters and hackers which is destroying the in-game economy.

at a certain point, you all have to actually deliver what you said you were going to deliver, and a month past the release of the phase is, in my opinion, a more than reasonable amount of time.

Probably, but like we said we came off the boat with our MULES, with FISH on them. WHen you kill someone and they respawn there, they are not flagged anymore so that means their mount isnt either. So it's your own fault for being forced flag and killing them. Not ours.

I think the Demand system kinda favors players who run crates at weird hours when servers reset and so on, when a lot of players who have to work just can't play. I feel that a system that instead increases rewards at times when more players are online would make more sense. More players = more risk = more reward.

They need to add a system like the black market in Albion. Allow craters/ refiners to complete crafting/refining commissions. This will give value to low level crafting and keep the economy moving. Than you need to tie in caravans to this as well. Caravans consist of specialized crates which can be filled with the crafted items and when delivered will provide crafting supplies. You need item churn for items of all levels or the economy will deflate and everything loses value 2 months into the game

Then we should be talking about the gear power curve and not how long it takes to craft gear. The way material weighting and crafting quality works you only need uncommon copper to make epic items. There is a HUGE amount of uncommon copper on the market. It's trivially easy to acquire once you know what you are doing. The real problem is that the stat curve means that people with better gear are significantly more powerful than those with even slightly less good gear.

Recipes should be reduced overall, it is pretty wild how much is needed to make stuff and it honestly gets tedious. But that being said you'll never compete with someone who spends all day every day crafting and playing the market. You can still carve out a smart niche for yourself though. I personally play the game of grinding out radiant gear from drops and sell them for 5 to 12 gold a pop.

On Steam especially, a lot of fraudulent transactions are filtered, banned, or reversed early. What is left are legitimate purchases and those absolutely count as new/increased revenue.

The amount of players you need spending is relative to the amount of money you have spent. If you spend 500million on the game chances are to get a return before space travel becomes reality you probably will need 100k players

so no, I think one of the few things that Intrepid can really be applauded for is sticking to their guns on "this is the game we're building, it's going to be for a niche audience" and, much like eve online, if they can maintain 30k concurrent players at $15/month for many years, translating to 100k-200k monthly accounts, I think they'll do just fine.

the game is in alpha with a mountain of functionality turned off and a ton of stuff on their roadmap not even implemented. it's insane to be judging the state of the game now as if this is what it is. they still have 1/3 of the current continent, plus the other continent, plus 2 mini island continents, 3 election types, an entire settlement stage, settlement superpowers, settlement destruction, artisan skill trees, secondary archetypes and another 25 levels to go, not to mention filling in everything that isn't the Riverlands to be equally as densely populated with stuff to do.

and that's not even accounting for all the stuff that's currently turned off.

we're 2-3 years from now before beta even starts, and that might be a bit optimistic considering how much work they clearly have to do on the basics.

CFAA isn’t about breaking ToS/rules, it’s about breaking laws. Most RMT and botting doesn’t meet that bar and they know it.

Paying for an account is a business expense for them and they make more than they spend so it doesn’t bother them to keep doing it over and over.
