As someone who got in early on to become a citizen at a big settlement I disagree. Players who start later or don’t play as much are already punished hard enough by being behind on gear. Not getting to choose the settlement they want for their resource grinding etc sounds awful. Also people have to drop citizenship to put on the town cloak they want. Losing your spot as a citizen to do that would be dumb

I like to farm my main and then grind out professions. Then, I will make a set of FULL Epic+ weapons/armor/jewelry, all Initiate, to act as a sort of "Heirloom" training gear for alts. Drop it in guild bank when I hit lvl 10

make the alt runs super fast. Picking up level 9 recipes are super cheap a few weeks post-launch

Yes but that was also before they released on steam. Do you realize the difficulty involved with wiping now vs than? Its a whole different deal. I nope people just realize a wipe is probably like 85-95% not going to happen. I won't 100% rule it out, but the chances are extremely slim. With them having been away on holidays they haven't even been around since launch on steam to have put enough effort into actually trying to get rid of the bots and cheaters yet. They will do everything they can to deal with it first before they do a wipe.

Then you're blind as hell man I don't know what to tell you, the overwhelming majority of players are in guilds and where possible grouping with their guilds. People also play with people from other guilds, but the percentage of people entirely without a guild is less than probably 5%

Ban the hackers. Ban the purchasers of the gold sellers. Disband the guilds they belong to. Reset the characters of any associated guild members and wipe THEM and make them play catch up. And make it clear that this will happen every time. And yes, hold guilds accountable for their members. They indirectly benefited from this stuff, so they share the blame. Be careful who you recruit.

I can appreciate that as I have been in that position many times over, but than maybe they shouldn't play an MMO? MMORPG's are inately designed in such a way that people are always going to be behind someone else. Unless they add a catch up mechanic which would be a horrible idea in my opinion especially during an alpha 2 early access lol.

Yeah it did, and now shitlipped cheaters have started to sprout up en-masse because they aren't appropriately punished.

It's very simple. If you cheat or abuse exploits, you get banned permanently. There is no 3/7/1 month bans. There are no warnings. You knew what you were doing was wrong, you get banned for doing it. Your name and guild gets posted publicly to out you for it, anyone who had contact with you gets investigated and if CS sees evidence of them benefitting from you giving them gold or functionally using your bad behavior to benefit them in a way that was in excess of legitimate means, they get reset and warned.

Punishment needs to be harsh, permanent, and put people playing alongside cheaters at risk too.

The problem you and others are trying to make from a mole hill into a mountain of an issue is the game development isn't progressing fast enough for YOU and the issues in the game aren't getting fixed fast enough for YOU.
