The game will need ~160k monthly subs just to break even, not even talking about profit. Given the sheer amount of content that's already been officially cut until after launch, that's not looking super likely to occur unless we suddenly see a massive surge in development speed.

Which given that last year we basically hit December and then a deadzone for months... And that in order to do that huge surge they'd need to force employees into major crunch time which isn't a good idea especially long-term... We'll see, but it's not looking great.

@zinc cipher As far as your average user is concerned, coming to steam is a launch and it doesn't really matter how much people or the devs say it's EA and an alpha. You really only get one big shot at making an impression.
