Rubberbanding, entire settlements like vanishing and falling through the map over and over, insane lag when switching server lines throughout the map lol none of that and more is new at all. there are quests btw, just not obvious ones - it doesn't hold your hand like BDO or WoW. But if you explore the map and go to different areas with NPCS you'll find quest lines to do if you want to. They actually give decent xp and items too

I've been in the anvils this run. There are lots of named ones. Issue is a lot of them are camped with anywhere from 20min to 1 hour respawn. There's a really cool boss in that Crater near duunhold. A completely unique boss to the game

yeah it was unplayable with the freezes i was getting, move one step and itd micro freeze for a second, even just moving the camera would cause a freeze. Updating my drivers fixed the issue entirely, no freezes at all now and a stable 90+ fps

check out the commission boards in town. There should be an artisan one and a kill quest one. that will give you some quests to do. At lvl 5 I would still be back in the area of the artisan villages more. Maybe farm a spot for a level, farm some trees/rocks, do some crafting, all of that will give you exp.

You cant be a citizen until you are a bigger dwarf (lvl 10) so off ya go into the wild.

Smaller guilds are viable, and actually will get benefits for remaining small. Larger guilds will have to spend skill points on increasing their member cap, while smaller guils can spend points on increased xp gain or other things.

No, there are bows that deal spell damage and give + damage to spells. They're incredible. You can craft one if you don't get one as a drop. They can also dot enemies if you have the right passives chosen in the weapon.

You don't lose gear or anything in your items on death. If you're corrupted you can lose gear. Node destruction will eventually be in, that one is going to be tough for people to learn about

You only lose materials tab stuff on death and it's not that bad

Well to be honest, the risk v reward aspect of being able to lose your loot is one of the pillars of ashes of creation. Its like its whole thing. If you die out in the world, yes you lose a portion of materials you have gathered, but you do not lose your items, like armor and weapons. You are only at risk of losing those hard earned things if you go corrupted. Corruption is a punishment applied to players who pvp non-consensually. As long as two flagged, or purple, players kill eachother, its all good.

its probably just a marker. If you right click on players or enemies, you can mark them, to better identify them when youre in a party or farming

Restart Client, and steam. Try logging back into same character. If no difference, try a different spawn zone, if it works, try old one again and see if it works. (Pretty sure I remember some realms having specific issues to their realm.)
