Wolf availability in the Riverlands is really rough right now. Wolves around Carphon used to be a solid source, but they’ve been completely removed.

Now the only viable spot is a low level area that spawns wolves only at night for about an hour. Since the day cycle is 2 hours, you’re stuck waiting a long time between windows. Everyone’s piling into the same spot, so it’s overcrowded and not really feasible.

With Carphon gone and night only spawns, getting wolves for leatherworking is almost impossible. It’d be great to see wolf spawns added back or spread out more.

had something similar, i would log in and then kicked to menu, try just closing the launcher, that's what worked for me
also it was caused by rubberbanding so if ur having that use a vpn to fix it

I got many many of them before this release when I was active you have to gather .. a lot of them over time to get any carcasses I forget but higher level hunting skill and gear seemed to help or I could have imagined it.

unlikely, but if ur anywhere near anvil at the north end near the coast, nestled in the mountains is a spot where 3 rams spawn together among mountain lions - very low level so it's safe and desolate so nobody will take it from u

they have specific spots where they respawn, they're annoying to find but once u find them u'll be set

When something that can be hunted dies it can respawn as a regular mob or huntable one likely people have been grabbing but I had to kill a lot to have them come back huntable

Yep the spawns that had been there were likely grabbed by someone - killing a killable mob it can then respawn as a huntable one

so go for the reliably rams first to level and get ur cert

huntables are rare, some mobs are on a set rotation. If people know it they can get there right when it spawns. other mobs like Grems and Ravens you need to keep killing the mobs for it to spawn. Its a grindy game.

Unless it changed - all of the Anvils is littered with hawks and ravens - if you kill the mob it can possibly respawn with a target reticle above it and you can then hunt it

yes i can hunt them without being apprentice...i need the hawk carcasses for early level gear....which mean i have to be able to hunt them to get the materials

ur prob just fighting starred monsters, u should be able to beat things ur level easily as long as they don't have stars
even 1 star is big

a lvl 10 can have the exact same gear as a lvl 19. its not something your meant ot get in a heart beat. 1st play through is much harder then your alts

I had leather crafting to just under Journeyman before steam, you have to look for the mob you need to hunt if it's not got a target icon and sitting still it is a regular mob, you kill them and they can respawn as huntable other players will stop and hunt the novice (grem, hawk, raven etc) any time they see them so you won't often just see them sitting without actively killing the mobs

It's one of the slower crafts, there seems to be an unimplented other hunting system in the code you can see gear and abilities that you can't use at the moment so it will likely change

I was able to make a set of leather, cloth and heavy armors and weapons on each of my characters before 10 but just barely with leather on a rogue

A mayor can have a Construction House built once the settlement advances but I'm not sure anything should be there yet (that would let you build construction crates in town)

characters that don't move in combat much like the tank if it were trying to hold aggro could block to mitigate damage - dodge you just move out of the damage entirely I never played tank myself in a group setting just leveled up a character to 15 of that class.

ya someone said to kill abunch of these stone hawks and maybe one will pop up...i read that a 5% chance drop...im not gonna sit just to hope that this person was correct...and what about everyone else looking to work on leather working....i dont see anyone else doing this...must be wrong info..and i did sit there for an hour...not 1 huntable hawk spawned....

It's correct, I took kill quests at my settlement nearby for hawks if they were available and killed them a lot gave me glint, exp and there would be huntable ones spawning from time to time - unfortunately it seems slower in the Anvils for that specific craft there seem to be many more and more easily killed grems in the Riverlands to level it there by getting carcasses but the tradeoff is there are a Lot of people doing that there

and i did all that for 1 not to spawn...so imma have to sit there and hour unknown hours for 3 huntable hawks for 3 skins for 1 item...no way this is correct...no way intrepid was like....ya this is a good idea...this is what the players want...this is what makes sense
