Phase 1 had 1 starting zone, so that means half the throughput at the start per server.
It also likely had more people playing than any phase since then, and worse servers than any phase since then. the larger server count makes more sense IMO.

One of the nice things I see with the loss associated with settlement destruction is, people are going to be less likely to hoard valuable materials for extended periods. It will make more sense to turn that into something like gold or valuable items that can't be lost from settlement destruction. That might drive the economy more because people might be less likely to mass hoard in prep to things.

yea. Asmon had more MMO relevance back when steven did his on-the-drive-interview with Asmon before A1. PPL are nostalgic. Dont get me wrong, i still enjoy some of his streams, but it isnt about degen gaming anymore and thats just a change of content, therefore not much relevance for the ashes launch or even the early access phase

remember for all that work during the daytime. if you have your pc at home on and steam logged in you can use the steam mobile app to remotely start the download so it is done when you get home

I think with introduction of faster mounts, gliding mounts, and perhaps faster ships, those things will feel like less of an issue.

we have seen high level mount speed, also gliding

interesting they turned that mount into a full flying one. i know they gave out some gliding during an event. i havent personally seen the speeds for top mounts

but are gliding supposed to be obtainable by everyone? just like how flying wont be for mayors but limited special rewards that wont last forever

gliding is for everyone

all flying mounts are supposed ot be temporary
the 5 from city mayors and 5 from castles only last for the time they have control
the random eggs you can get (supposed to be super rare) require a royal stable(in a city) and last a temp amount of time

wait, Early Access is a no wipe launch, but it's not quite ready for 1.0 with full features, it's definitely NOT meant to be an Alpha, let alone a Beta. Nor is that at ALL clear with the steam page right now... this is going to go... poorly.

the problem this ran into with the last mmo that tried to do this, is mmo's don't really try out in the refund window steam gives (2 hours), and people don't often click the "read more", nor do they care. The sentiment last time I saw this was a straight up "don't charge $ for alpha level games".

I just want to be clear, I'm an early big backer and don't care, personally. I'm content to wait until they're ready for a no wipes 1.0.
