Last heard it was around 2000USD, I'm guess around it's around 3000USDnow? Please suggest me how much I will need to top up to be competitive in this game. I'm talking about getting top 20% within couple of days, do-able with most pvp games I played, no kapp

Top 20% within a couple of days? You can do it with starter deck or at the very least with starter deck + some very cheap cards that you can get resources for within few hours.
Being competitive within top 10 (not 10%) is probably few days to get enough resources for few versatile legendary/supreme.

u can get into the top ranks without spending anything. look at the leader boards those are decks u can easily build with a bit of playtime. you can even get very far without any legendary cards. the question you're asking first off doesn't belong in here and secondly implies that you haven't even played the game before.

With 2 or 3k I am pretty sure you can not just get all current available cards, but also get them all to gold, and get all skins, and all arenas, multiple times.

So £2,000 would get you 570,000 rubies, which can get you 7880 power tokens. Let's round that up to 10k tokens through buying deals and whatnot
To max out every card in the game currently requires 10,700 cards in total (6240 common + 2600 rare + 1200 supreme + 660 legendary). So using your excess shards from each spin (or getting very lucky), you could totally max out every card
So honestly, ~£2k feels about right to get everything to gold as well as basically every cosmetic, since shop offers are usually dirt cheap compared to the raw rubies -> Stuff ratio

I don't think we should be discouraging people from spending money on the game!
I have numerous times for season passes etc. We play a lot and keeps them in a job, which means we have a game to keep playing!

You also don't want to encourage people to spend money because they are thinking they need it to be competitive. It's fine for people to spend money, and it should be clear that being competitive is very f2p friendly.
