Not really, as this will at least partially offset the problem you mentioned.
In addition, colleague NopeSineTimore, is also right, and the best example of this is GGTournaments, where people there, burn quite a lot of mana to wait for a convenient moment to use the card.

so there is no teammate to upset if you afk and throw

1v1 IS relevant because BD enabled the bot also there. So your 1st suggestion should be "remove the feature from 1v1s" or "make the feature optional just in 1v1/premades" if this should make any sense...
