You see Cerberus forces everywhere - Blue Stars, Red Stars, Dark Red Stars, even your Yellow Star when you first begin scanning and clearing sectors throughout your star system.

Now, here's my thinking - to add more content to the game, and perhaps more ways to earn gems/credits, or even just add another event, why not add Cerberus Raids on your home star? It's shown that in Red Stars, they are capable of teleporting enemy ships into the system.

So why not make it a sort of wave defense event/battle over a certain amount of time, where you have to defend your planets from being destroyed whilst also fighting off the rest of the Cerberus Forces that come to raid you?

DUMPING LIST OF IDEAS:
1. Could be used to earn credits and hydro, gems or even just be another fun event.

2. It could revolve around planet defense, where destroyers jump into your system supported by Phoenix, Bomber, Colossus or other ships, and planets will also act as a "resupply" hub where you can reduce module cooldown on your combat/shield/drone modules.

3. Could be a toggleable feature, so people who don't want to participate in this could have it as a setting which can be turned on or off.

invasion mode has been suggested before.
the problem is how to harmonize it with casual 1/day gameplay.
it would have to be player choice with its risks and rewards, like other star game modes (bls/rs).

but on the realistic side, this is not what the devs aim to do, which is QoL, events and bugfixes. any major new mode that requires significant effort is too much for them probably.

vague suggestion won't help either.
you'll need to work out the detail for both challenges and rewards at various levels.

I’ve suggested another star system in other threads.
After you’ve fully scanned your YS, you can build another “Scanner” which takes you to a hostile star which is subject to attack from warping in Cerbs or fleets of Cerbs.
This star should last for a 5 days and operate on WS time and damage, including mod cooldown for that added difficulty.

But more to the point. The YS needs to be safe and free from outside Cerb or human assaults.
This is technically an Idle-Like game and as Rodrigo pointed out, is typically only played once or twice a day.
I would very much prefer we stay away from those fort rush / burn other players cities to the ground kind of games. There are way too many of those already

Fair, it would need to be safe, which is why I recommended a toggleable feature to allow players to avoid having cerberus forces raid their star. I wouldn't think of it as a PVP thing inside yellow star systems.

Maybe if it could be unlocked as a scanner feature, which would let AI cerberus forces jump into your system and you defend it for some sort of points or reward, kind of like a blue star? Though.. I suppose that kind of just adds a secondary mode. I'm not entirely sure yet, haven't fleshed out the idea, was mostly hoping for others to help build onto it.

What if the “new color” Scanner is a Corp based Scanner that allows for a small team to enter into a Cerb infested Star where they must make their way through to the opposite side to generate Relics and then make their way back to the warp gate.

Relics generated provide 1 Exp. To the Corp?
Maybe limit the player size to 5 max 1 BS and 1 TS/MS for each player?
Not sure of the time dilation. Without rewriting everything it would either be WS or RS time rates.
Cerb Bases should spawn in each sector with a planet and it spawns random Cerbs, not just Sentinals

I don't like the idea of needing defensive structures, planetary defenses, raid shields, and other such pvp adjacent gear in DN as it's to me too similar to other such games out there. I do like the idea of players being able to invade the Cerberus realm as a new star type /color with environmental hazards, boss level Cerberus structures and ships and some unique reason for doing so but it would need to be meaningfully distinct from red and dark red stars as and I don't know replacing planets with Cerberus bases (for example) would be enough difference.
