Mining fields are easy to protect and you can always blast drone a credit asteroid (drs10+). That's how people handle this.
DRS9- and RS are not a problem. Or if it is it's the dreaded "skill issue". 😄

But the basic idea of miner stealth is not bad and could help WS defense too.

Only ever 1 interceptor and ghosts on the map at any given time if you pay attention

Miners having anything should be distinct from other ships; they used to have an invulnerable mod but I guess that was too unbalanced because it's no longer in the game... what about burning some hydrogen to make a Decoy that has once waypoint?

i always have a mixed feeling about this one. i both want miner to have stealth and not have stealth

its reasonable for miner to not have stealth because interceptors spawn in planets and move between planets, so miners are not in the way of interceptors for most of the time

however ghosts and inters spawn everywhere including mining sectors from rs10...

What if the miner had health?

It’s a bulk freighter/mining vessel, it should have “mass” and could take a little bit of damage

so instead of losing the miner and the entire hydro, losing some amount is still punishing because u have to mine those hydro again

If that were the case, there is an opportunity for MS to become bombs that affect all surrounding ships.
The more hydro, the larger the blast radius and damage…!
