#New $5 Pack - Research Station Upgrade

Being able to move artifacts around simply because the current game goes by slot order and not first in first out should not be a paid service imo
Yeah, but do you expect a $5 pack for every QoL update then?
Lets male a new 5$ pack for WS, without it, nobody can play WS. Heck, Lets make a new 5$ for 25%+ credit cap increase and lets decrease everyone without the packs credit cap by 10%, lets stop shipments from generating for everyone without SP2, lets automatically disband the fleets of players without SP1. Lets make HS a subscription based service, a basic subscription for 5$ a month allows you to join a corp, use the diplomacy station and play DRS. Standard package allows you to Chat with other players, Store artifacts on planets and stack 2x shipments on outposts.
That already exists with the ability to purchase hydro, credits, and speed up various research.
It's ridiculous, the P2W model is ridiculous. You know why? Micro transactions have to be worth it, too many micro-transaction makes players leave - The mobile games industry is competitive and you can't just charge this much for some niche feature in your niche game, where there are people giving out twice as much content for FREE
Offer more cosmetics for ships and stations...easy way to make money and not effect gameplay/progression
A different cosmetic for what color your weapon is, hell a cosmetic for your jump gate in RS that you can show off to other people
The dev doesn't need incentives. He ought to fix his game and keep updating it to keep players and attract more or his game dies. Simple as that.
Another niche micro-transaction with the recent Hydro Transmission purchase will get quite a few players to quit alone
It won't help. Nobody will see value in it and it will just encourage people to leave.
I haven't heard anyone say they are leaving because that was added lol but I know a few people for sure that bought it already
I haven't either if I'm being honest. But I have seen many many people look at it in that way - another micro-transaction milking the existing players due to the lack of players instead of actually trying to increase player base - a demotivating factor for many to play the game
QoL shouldn't have a subscription imo. Being able to pay for an extra even tho this game gets to be played properly without paying, sounds fine
I personally dont know if adding 2nd art research station is better or not within the that pack
I'm thinking that this pack doesn't match its price, because:
- 8 arts is 24hrs of non-stop researching. If you have a stable source of arts, you can constantly fully fill up the research station.
- to solve the arts prioritization problem, you can just pre-sort them at a planet/moon/tstation.
Again, pre-sorting solves the issue of wanting stuff researched back to back, even if it's at a delay if other stuff is ahead of it, and missing one day of research isn't going to kill you. You're literally feeding into the profit-first mentality of the mobile sphere. The more players like you, the worse the gaming scene is going to get.
This is, generally, how you know a service is dying. Once they start trying to "find the pennies in the couch", they're so unprofitable due to overreach, lack of players, or bad microtransactions that it's dying off.
How is that not solved with pre-sorting? Load the transports, and only send the ones you want FIRST to it, then send the rest once they're accepted. Boom, sorting already done, no need for the station to do it. Even if it's full, send the transports you want prioritized first. The stations accepts all artifacts for one ship before accepting from the next, so as long as the ones you want prioritized arrive first, the station WILL prioritize them.
As for missing a day, should the rest of the game accommodate? If you don't log in for 24 hours, should shipments auto deliver? Should hydro auto mine? Should it run a RS for you and give you randomized arts? You may think I'm making this more complicated than it seems, that this has nothing to do with your idea, but this is the logical next step to your idea. If we have a "pay to do something because I missed a day", the next step is to expand that into other systems. And then you're just paying to turn HS into Idle Star Farmer.
I never said it would be empty...? The only part of your idea that can't be covered by pre-sorting is moving arts inside the station. The rest is LITERALLY solved by pre-sorting. And even then, so what if those back to back 175% arts won't be done for a few hours? They'll still get done, and you'll still get that extra blueprint regardless, just with a delay, as long as you know how to sort.
As for real life intruding on the game, deal with it. If you're so worried about missing a few blueprints because you couldn't log in for one day, then so what? It's a game. They're pixels. You'll be delayed by a grand total of one day, that's not going to mean much when the "completion" time for the game is several YEARS. Even if we're conservative and say 5 years, that's 0.05% delay. That's 5 one-hundredths of one percent of a delay in your time. It literally doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.
I just did the math on my BP needed to upgrade my cargo bay extension. It's going to take 500 level 8 artifacts to get all the BP for it without a bonus. That's 1500 hours of time. If I miss a day, that barely means anything. It'll mean it'll be 64 days instead of 63.
Do you see why missing ONE day means so little? Even if I get high bonus artifacts, it's still not a significant problem. If I get 150%, it will take 27 days. Missing one is still nothing.
I just don't see upgrading the rss, just add chambers.
In fact, it shud increase in chambers per rs lvl, imo. Starting with one rss chamber, for a lv1 player.
& an option to add more chambers per increasing credits. Like, the mod research tray, which has one extra bay to purchase wit credits.
There is already existing precedent for being able to miss a day. Croids and DRS bonus both allow you to skip 47 hours without losing anything.
In fairness there is also opposing precedent in BLS rewards, objectives, and star hydro.
I think the game is generally better when it is lenient with routine objectives, but daily stuff is known to hook people and force them to play so... 🤷♀️
The only time I'd honestly agree with a "leniency" for missing a day is if there's a benefit to not losing a day. If there's a concurrent bonus, then we can talk. Until then? If you miss a day, big deal. It will literally barely impact your growth. Hell, missing a week will barely impact your growth. If you skip a day, I'm sorry, but suck it up. Call me toxic all you want, I don't care, games shouldn't hold your hand. It already does enough with the 23 hour cooldowns, allowing for adjustable schedules, and by NOT giving concurrent rewards or login streaks.
The rest is up to you. If your schedule is so full or you're so busy that literally 5 minutes to login to move a few arts to your RSS is too much, this game isn't meant for you.
You know games are something most people do for fun in their spare time, and not a job?
That is precisely why I said my last point. This game takes time. Dedicated time. You'll need a period of about an hour a day to play and do what you need, assuming 20 minutes for shipments, 10-20 for arts, and another 20 for blues (assuming you don't win all your matches first time). If you're so busy that five minutes to move some arts is an issue, and missing one day of research is that big of a deal, then you're too busy to play this in "spare time", because your "spare time" is too little for this game.
