#The game is still deciding whether to finish in 3rd or 13th place !

Just finished the 10 PM race (10.03.25) on the Nordschleife. I started from 2nd, lost a position, and entered T1 in 3rd. The leader was sideways in T1, causing me to lose 2 places and drop to 5th. SealHud showed me P17 (!!!) from the time of the "incident", even though there were 17 drivers. So, according to SealHud, I was last. I even got a blue flag. I overtook the car in front of me, and instead of P4, it showed me P16. Next overtake => Yay, I'm in 15th! I finally crossed the finish line in 3rd and went into the garage. There, I jumped back and forth between P3 and P13. On the final screen, I'm obviously NOT on the podium but back in P13 ! And since the game apparently still doesn't know my actual position, the race doesn't even appear in the results.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the blue flag came later. Round 2, or something like that.

So, if a race doesn't show up in the results, that's probably something everyone's experienced at some point. And it's not uncommon for SealHud or ReHud to display something erratic. But this repeated switching from P3 to P13 and back again, that's something I've never seen before...

Do you remember what position you were at on RaceRoom standings screen at the end of the race ??

#

that screen

I crossed the finish line in 3rd place. In the garage, my position fluctuated between 3rd and 13th until the end of the race, and in the final standings I finished in 13th place.

awh .. got it... in this case, the HUD was "correctly" reflecting the mess then ...

#

In fact, the displayed position on sealhud is obtained directly from shared memory. No post-processing occurs there.

Does that mean you can rule out a problem with SealHud?

#

SealHud is just relaying what it receives from the game... The problem likely lies within the game itself.

That's right. It looks like is not on SealHUD... Especially considering you appear in P13 on the standings screen at the end of the race.

I only noticed this because of SealHud, where I was ranked 15th, 16th and 17th.

I just remembered that in the OtterHUD changelog (version 1.25), it mentioned a very similar issue to what you are reporting. However, it's not clear to me whether he is trying to say that this problem only occurs when the driver is in the pitlane or anywhere on the track.

EDIT: now I got it ... According to Otter, this issue would happen when 2 drivers are using the same pit spot

It is also important to mention that the RaceRoom API at the time of this changelog is very old (2021). So we are talking about something that has been updated. I don't know if this still happens.

Hey Marco I've experienced the exact same symptoms that you were experiencing with sealhud although i've always used otterhud myself.
I'd be in 2n place or 4th just for example but my overlays would sometimes start to jump all over the place puting me down to the likes of 14th or something but then spazzing out and changing all the way to the race end.
My issue generally caused me a lot of confusion but i found when i'd finish th race that my official placing was always correct regardless what i was being told during th race.
I've also experienced a similar but different glitch where i come home in a podium spot but the result just doesn't ever appear on my race history. On those occasions i can usually see similar weird happenings to the timing screens and peoples positions in the race but without having any proficiency in using computers / software etc i just put it down to a bad connection somewhere between our pc's and the servers running the tracks.

I wouldn't mind if the display malfunctioned occasionally, as long as the final result was correct.

But that's precisely what wasn't the case... I don't know why the game ranked me P13 when I was P3.

So, in that sense, the SealHud display was correct. Something was definitely wrong with the game !
