The track suddenly become engulfed in one big shadow (car stays normal). I have most settings on high/ultra apart from shadow resolution and reflection quality

What model of gpu do you have?
Are you using dx9 mode or dxvk? does it also happen in other mode?
Is it happen in specific time of day or all time? can you share what you set for the season?
Check your gpu control panel setting. If you have raceroom profile there turn it back to default and disable any upscaling or enhance setting you set for all games.
