#Abnormally low FPS
154 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
my pc is not as high end as that, but I'm experiencing the same thing, incredibly low fps
even in a standalone session
Hmm let me ask the programmers tomorrow. I know it was said in the past that maybe your pcie comm on gpuz isn't at it's max or fluctuates? Like maybe Nvidia thinks the game is actually a web browser
add pc specs please
Wondering if fullscreen or borderless windowed make any difference
I have nothing else but raceroom and steam. not even onedrive is working
not for me
what is your cpu, gpu ram etc
yesterday I ran in zolder and it was fine, 15-20 fps with people inside, we were 5 or 6
but today, the steam fps overlay says the same but it's all cut, the image is not fluent
can you check and post actual specs
hp i5-8265u
uhd graphics 620
16gb ram
here's a photo
if you wanted more information
like, i know the pc is not programmed to racing, but this sim is the only one I can run quite well, all on low settings
or, could
This would make sense. As there is no reason why my PC should not be able to push 000’s FPS. How do I change this?
I have tried this and it’s the same regardless. Sub 60 FPS and with inconsistencies, so lots of frame drops, stutters etc
grab GPU-z and check the pcie speed for your gpu, maybe it's variable / dynamic
maybe some energy saving policy on the motherboard?
any fix for my problem?
I'm afraid your laptop has a lack of CPU pure speed. The minimal requirement for RR is a dual core 2.4 GHz for example
this is because of all the simulation aspects making the game very CPU heavy
so I'd look for game settings in the menu that have a high CPU impact and lower those
and did this update increase the cpu impact?
because like I said, the day before I was doing a race in zolder with 6 other people, and it was reaching 15-20fps
no
I find it weird, cause even now, the steam fps overlay says I'm reaching 20 fps, but while driving, the image cuts. but when I press esc, to go to the menu, it drops back to 4-5 fps
then what changed in terms of hardware in this update?
not really anything, but you're so low in framerate anything will have a big impact
try and reduce settings if you're not already at lowest level
yh, settings already lowest as possible
damn, this sim was the only I could run ahahaahha
do you know if will there be an "offline mode", like practice or ai races?
not in the near future, no.
I tried a few things, for example i used lossless scaling for frame generation and for the app i was doing 75/80 fps but i saw less than 30 fps. With the frane generation x3 was the same thing
Here it is. Do I need to be in game or is this all we need?
your card is running at 1 x looking at that, click the ? bus interface and see if it changes underload
it should read PCIE 16X 5.0 @ x16 5.0
if it doesnt , try reseating it
I've got a 5090 in a laptop, and if I let that free run, I'm getting almost 500fps out of RaceRoom at 2560x1440. That PCIE value above doesn't look right to me either.
I'd also try the MSI Kombuster msi-01 benchmark. You should be getting way more fps than my laptop 5090 (my results in image, overclocking off) if you have a desktop 5090:
MSI Kombustor - MSI graphics card stress test utility and GPU benchmark
I fixed with uninstalling the last update of windows, try with this solution
Thanks all. Let me try these out
Let us know how that went
The problem wasn’t the windows update, the game is normal without the wheel ecc. but when i plug the wheel the game starts lagging and when i put it out the game fps turns normal
If u want i can send a video
what wheel ?
share your game.log and controller profile ( *.rcs in userdata\controlset\ )
!logs
Log files can be found in Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\Log make sure to sort by date to see the newest files!
I sent them
when I run the test it remains at x1and does not switch to x16. I will speak to PC Specialists tomorrow to try and work out what is causing this issue.
not seated correctly ;, or not enough power getting in ; losse connectors
Where?
In priv
guys, I may have figured out what is causing the game to lag
it's my wheel. as soon as I connect it, the fps drop significantly. but, if not connected, and even using the mouse as steering input, the game flows really well
what can I do?
I wrote it here some days ago, do you have a logitech wheel?
I have the g920, I think the problem is the logitech g hub
wym, the logitch software in the windows?
Yes
I have the old one, cause when I started I installed the new and I had to always change the the wheel angle
but, how do I solve it then?
Idk
even with the update on the g hub?
Yes
what g hub you're using?
I'm using this one
no
It’s not the same program
Do you know what is the problem? Is a bug of the game with the logitech wheels?
@jade nova it's failing to create FFB effects, so it's definitely relating to your wheel and its environment
I think that was to @clever egret, right?
still, I'm guessing I have the same problem, and not because the pc specs, remember?
So what i have to do?
Ok i found the solution, turn off the ffb setting in controls menu
in rre?
Yes
Do you guys face this problem in replay mode or only when you drive your car?
I have g923 with ghub and check my performance in replay mode while my wheel was connected. I tested when I set my control on wheel and keyboard. I did not see any performance difference or drop on standing still at the start of race.
I don't know what hardware @clever egret has. If you can share it, it will be helpful.
@jade nova Did you install only your LGS software or you switch between LGS and ghub at some point?
Did you use instruction to clean uninstall ghub and remove drivers before installing you LGS?
I know there are some strange bugs can happen if you install LGS over ghub if some of the older files left behind.
- Check and see if disabling your usb power mode has any effect on performance or not.
- Does changing usb port has any impact on your performance? is there any other device is connected to your laptop beside your wheel?
- Try to run the game in borderless windows and in task manager give it a higher priority than normal and see if improve your performance or not. you can also limit the number of core on LGS to see if it helps or not.
I disabled the ffb on rre and it worked, no more lag in-game. the thing is that I had the older lg hub, and I thought it was that the problem, so I switched to the new one this morning. but I'm getting the older back cause the steering angle with the new one is too loose in-game but not on desktop
How did you disable ffb? in logitech software or in game?
For ghub, it's known issue that game does not auto adjust the rotation and you need to adjust it manually. You need to take the rotation number from car setup and put it in ghub rotation angle so they get match and you have 1:1 rotation ratio.
#memes message
yh, but when I switch to the game window, it gets loose again
in control settings
I disabled it, and enabled it. problem solved
For this, I adjust the FFB multiplayer to have stiffer feeling. Also. I use the FFB meter so that it doesn't overshoot the FFB limit on wheel.
I'm sorry. It's still not clear where did you disable/enable it.( It can be helpful for later if someone face the same issue.)
here
Same for me! RX6800XT, 64GB DDR4 CL18, Windows 11 Pro. I play on a Xbox Controller (i know, shame on me etc. hehe but i have no space for a Wheel). Here's what I've tried so far that hasn't helped.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
Running the game in borderless window mode as described here and giving the game a higher priority in Task Manager.
Disabling FFB in the game.
Changing the USB Port that the controller is plugged into doesn't help either.
the problem with disabling the ffb is that the car feels different, and it behaves different as well
Exactly!
And even though I only drive with an XBOX controller, driving without FFB is not an option for me, it completely ruins the feeling when the vehicle feels and behaves differently. This must have something to do with one of the latest Raceroom updates. I just don't understand why only a few people seem to have this problem.
they told me it's probably my pc specs, for being low
but it doesn't seem to different. I'm used to drive the r8 gt3, but without the ffb it feels like a porsche so yh, I'll just adapt
But that just doesn't make sense. I hadn't had any problems at all the whole time. I think 64GB, RX 6800XT, and a Ryzen 7 5800X3D aren't that bad. Until a few days ago, everything was definitely still working perfectly for me. I was getting around 100 FPS, if not more, otherwise I wouldn't have bought the Black Friday Pack. The whole thing only started with one of the latest updates from Raceroom in the last few days. I think it's a bit simplistic to just blame it on the PC specs.
I thought so too, cause it's the only sim I can run. and after the q4 update, with the 2002, 2025 dtm and all that, it all went down. but my problem seems to be the wheel, the g29 logitech. so, perhaps something to do with the ffb of the wheel itself not being compatible with the game maybe, so it runs on minimum requirements
I didn’t read through all the messages but I think I do have a very similar problem. For me it helped to turn of my clipping software and leave any discord call and discord steams from other people were even worse also if I didn’t even had them opened.
The wheel is fully supported in game both in LGS software as wheel as Ghub.( beside auto rotation adjustment bug in ghub.)
Sadly, troubleshooting performance issue is not easy and you need to spend time, use software such as presentmon and figure out the cause.
What @tender saffron wrote is also true. I also heard that some people disable discord overlay to avoid this performance issue or closed it before the race. maybe disabling hardware acceleration in discord can be useful to solve this issue.
I use 923 without any logitech software, my laptop dosnt even have a grafic card
I runs on 60 fps on minimal settings
Try this
Without logitech software, you don't have FFB anymore and your wheel behave like a bungee cord wheel.
I would appreciate it if you would share your FFB meter while you are driving and make a video clip of it.
How can I send you clip from race room?
Same for me. FPS way below ten on 5070ti, 9800X3D
You can upload it here if it is under 50mb
If it is over 50mb, upload it in youtube and post the link here.
And where is FFB meter?
you need to bind a button to iy in control setting. ( or search ffb meter in setting and chose it so that you jump to that option.)
after that run a season and go to driver mode and press the ffb meter button so that it shows up in game. Normally, it will show up on the left side of screen. like this:
I did it and it didnt show anyline
Online red on top and yellow on bottom
I Turned on something and it shows how I stear the wheel, breaking and accelerating in bars
Now I notice when my wheel is turned 180* in game it only about 130*
If you don't have green line, you don't have FFB. Your wheel behave like a bungee cord wheel.
remove the hand animation and try again. Although without logitech software, the game may think you are using gamepad.
Okej
My ffb works
I can send you video of me driving
I downloaded g hub
Its so much better
Before my wheel was always using the same force
Sorry
I didnt know it could do it
new tip:
When you want to drive, go to car setup and look at the rotation angle of car. put that number in ghub so that you have same 1:1 ratio. This way you will have right FFB for each car and feel the difference between them.
For example|:
By default, ghub is 900 degree.
If you have car with 540 degree wheel rotation, change the ghub number to 540.
Also, at the moment, ghub only accept 10x degree. like 450, 540, 360 and etc. If your car has some strange rotation number - like 346 - you need to turn the number to 10x. for this example go 350. if it's lower than 5 for example 721, turn it to 720.
Welcome to the sim world.
No, busy in IRL. Have good run.
Thanks
Its my first 1h race
Is it good to pit or put 120L and dont change tires
?
I run the game in DXVK mode since months ago, not planning to ever change it
i have a similar issue with my 7900xtx 24gb and ryzen 7 7800x3d but i ahve tons of frames 170 and up but acts like im getting 20
