This just happened to me two times after eachother.
Enterred multiplayer ranked practive for a MX-5 Daytona practice session before a daily race I was planning on joining. I noticed, but didn't think much of it, that me (now former) fastest lap had wasn't being displayed, I also couldn't see my fastest laps placement compared to the two faster and two slower laps than mine. But when I then wen't across the finish line, I saw the yellow "Saving Replay" in the middle of my screen, and I was then place, by that new laptime, among everyone elses leaderboard/pratice lap. I know I saw my former fastest lap being display in the little box that say the laptime that is current for my place on the starting grid. So I immidiately quit the session to hop out and see of the laptime I would be place on the starting grid had changed. It had...
And I was about a whole 10th (of a sec.) slower, so I pressed practice again, only to see that my laptime set within this hour was not also not being displayed at the top. The information header with laptimes was again empty. I set a new laptime. This time I made sure it would also be slower, then both previous laptimes to see what would happen. But still "Saving Replay" was showing right after this 3. lap was over, and the server now displays only the 3. lap of the mentioned ones.
This needs to be fixed. Otherwise people only has the practice of about 7 min. after joining the server of they don't want to lose their laptime from earlier, which will probably results in more inconsistent driving and more chaotic ranked races.

I too have noticed peculiarities with the leaderboards. It's as if the times and standings you see while on track are pulled from a different server than the ones displayed when accessing the boards from the main menu (or from a web browser.)

Same Problem here, Watkins Glenn GT3. My fastes time get overwritten in menu before race, but Leaderboard Shows my older Besttime

Yeah and seems to be a very recent change that has made this bug put up. Didn't happen at all earlier in this week, before the weekend. But has happened all day today.
