#Porsche GT3 992 setup

I tried to make a setup for the porsche gt3 992 and it seems to be good compared to the fixed one. I did it for the spa but it's good in Portimao and Spielberg. The only problem is that it seems to be a little slow on the straight. Does anyone have any suggestions or another setup?

Funny how i thought, by looking at your driving (which is obviously godly) that you would want an oversteery car, but it doesn’t look to be oversteery by setup. Granted I haven’t tried that setup..

Just curious, @late wagon

Whats your personal best at Spa with this setup?

I don't know how to drive that, but its just skill issue, i don't think its bad but it doesnt fit for every driving style, a bit of oversteer on the entry and exit, you can lower the rear spring but it Will understeer a bit

#

If you have any suggestions to make the setup better, put it here, it helps a lot

hi @late wagon
is that viable for the "non dtm" version?

#

thanks for sharing btw 😀

late wagon
#

Oh, yeah i forgot that is for dtm23, but i Will put here some pictures

I have a question, which tracks is this setup for?

Do you want more speed on a straight line? Reduce the wing to 6 and increase the anti-rollbar... I think you can only know by testing.

Far from me, I'm from Almada. Is Tomás Ribeiro your name on the track? You live in the north but aren't you ashamed of where you live?

Hardcore modification of the car, I don't know how long this may have taken but the change and balance is amazing, thanks for sharing.
For this car at the nordschleife do you have any recommendations or setup.
I have something but it feels like it's not right

late wagon
#

This a setup for controller, just don't trust on it, increase rear spring, decrease front anti roll bar and increase rear anti-Roll bar

Can you explain to me what you get by raising or lowering the rear and front bar? I understand the mechanical operation and the explanation in the game. But in driving, what is perceived?

#

Well I got more control and less oversteer at the rear and less understeer at the front. Quick and effective tips

wind patrol
# random frost Can you explain to me what you get by raising or lowering the rear and front bar...

By stiffening the front bar, you get less grip, but more control, because, that end can’t move as freely in the corners, with roll occurring. Reduces contact to the road. And vice versa, if you loosen it, it will be more grippy. So… rule of thumb is, loose front and stiffer rear bar, will make the car pointy. But many factors play into this.. toe-angle, spring rate, even weight distribution of the car.. but most GT3 cars are rear weight biased. Some more than others.

Thanks for sharing. Drove 2-3 20min races in Portimao and thats the first conclusions. Car too oversteery to me, but its coming OK after a few laps. Turn 4 requires clear control. Turn 7 my weak point, i often loose rears and on this setup even more. The biggest problems i have in last corner. The more laps i do the worse it turns becoming more understeery. Maybe I'm overheating the LF, but redusing it 170-171 psi before start. To be fair i must say the quickest time i set with this setup, but have problems in race so far. Thanks in any case 👍

#

To be clear i used stock setups before, then used @thin flax he shared earlier. And I've never face such last-corner-problems before i guess. I don't get what to do to solve it

Need more time to compare the setups gentlemen

thin flax

Also, I can see Tomas' setup has positive front toe 🤯 Don't think I've ever seen that. Would explain understeer in final corner, I guess

gusty hatch
#

Gonna change it and try in the future

thin flax
#

He's a better driver than me, and he knows what he's doing, but it might be some very Spa-specific thing. You don't really need front agility that much on Spa as on Portimao

gusty hatch
#

@thin flax is your setup for gamepad too?

thin flax
#

I use a wheel. And I've never driven a gamepad, so I have no idea how it translates 😛 But the setup does have suitable amount of rotation/stability for Portimao in any case, I'd guess, considering it's made specifically for that track

#

But could be that gamepad requires something completely different

#

Tomas is the expert on that

You change rears too?

#

I thought only fronts. The rears stands the whole race, no?

thin flax
#

It doesn't really matter for 1h, GT3 tyres hardly gets worn anyway. It's just old habit to change rears. I normally wear them more than fronts. But I haven't really played the game much in the last year, so I've never tested changing fronts. Dunno how the car balance is. But probably fine, considering there's so little degradation anyway

gusty hatch
#

LF degradation was about 60-65% in half an hour, so I've freshed only fronts. But my race pace slower 1 - 1.5 sec than yours for sure

thin flax
#

Oh wtf, I didn't get that much in a full hour 😄 But gamepad things I guess

gusty hatch
#

And stock setups metters too i guess. Haven't enough time and motivation to do 1h Porti race in single player to check all this out ))

thin flax
gusty hatch

Sorry, inputs? You mean - gamepad or wheel matter way more? My English is poor...

thin flax
#

60% tyre wear in half an hour sounds crazy to me 😄

There's no such thing as 'best setup'. But here is a setup, which is pretty decent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lV9LELUS9NI

TC: 5 (adjusted to 35% cut and 0.29x slip) ABS: 4

Possibly my best ever leaderboard lap at any track. Originally I did this to challenge myself to drive with TC off, and I managed an 8.06.8 with no TC. But I noticed that I could go faster with a bit of TC, so I decided to push for that glorious 8.05 instead. And finally I got it!

There's alway...
