Buongiorno from Italy,

I am writing to report a recurring issue I am experiencing with disconnects during ranked races. These disconnects are causing me to lose championships and rating points, and are becoming increasingly frustrating.

As you can see from my ranked race statistics, there are multiple instances of "disconnect" events. If you review these races, you will notice that my reputation and rating take a significant hit whenever these disconnects occur. Furthermore, I was consistently in the top three or four positions when these disconnects happened:

I have not reported this issue previously, but it is happening more frequently and is severely impacting my ability to compete.

I have attached a video of a recent race where this issue occurred live:

I genuinely enjoy Raceroom and have no intention of switching to another game. However, these disconnects are causing significant frustration and making it difficult to enjoy the game.

Only twice have I experienced a disconnect due to ping, and in those cases, a red notification appeared on the screen. In all other instances, the other cars disappear, I continue racing, and then the ranked race screen reappears.

I kindly request your assistance in resolving this issue. I would appreciate it if you could investigate the matter and implement a solution to prevent these disconnects from occurring. This would allow me to continue racing without losing points or championships due to factors beyond my control.

Thank you

Thanks, I am using a wireless connection. I am not very experienced with PC gaming, having only started playing Raceroom in October 2023. Prior to that, I only played F1 2020 22 and did not experience any disconnection issues.

I understand that you suggest the issue may be related to my internet connection. However, I have checked my connection immediately after each disconnect and it remains stable. I have also updated all my drivers and software. Additionally, I make it a habit of exiting and relaunching Raceroom after each race. I have tried everything I can think of to resolve this issue.

I would appreciate any further guidance or troubleshooting steps you can provide to help me identify and resolve the root cause of these disconnects. I am eager to continue enjoying Raceroom without the disruption caused by these recurring issues.

a wifi connection can suffer from packet loss and drops at any moment , and testing afterwards just proves at that moment your connection is stable , it does not say it is always stable

So, even a single second of instability can cause me to lose connection to the server?

#

For instance, in my recent ranked race involving only three drivers, I lost 10 rating points to a disconnect and 7 or 8 of reputation

not a single second , but if it misses a few instances this can happen

So, are you telling me there are no solutions? because I don't have the possibility to use another connection. and that when it happens to me it's right for me to lose 10 points or more in rating and 7 or 10 in reputation? did you watch the races where I lost points? you find the word "disconnect" if you analyze. And raceroom didn't give me any ping or disconnect warnings. if you play raceroom and what happened to me so many times happens to you, you wouldn't like it and you would look for a solution or you would stop playing, so as not to get angry. Interrupting races while you're fighting for the podium is annoying. Very.

you are in a team of raceroom?

what im trying to say is by using wifi you risk more chances of disconnecting due to either ping or packet loss , these are things we can minimise by using a wired connection , after that, it doesnt that ping and disconnection dont happen on a wired connection , as there are many variables and things that can happen between your pc and the server your connecting too, but those are beyond your control

#

when you disconnect from a server , how can that server tell you you have disconnected? you are no longer connected to it ....

three or four times I was kicked out of the server for pinging, in the ranked servers, and on the screen in red it said: Disconnected, blah blah, ping.. etc. the other times never.

yes one is a ping kick , so the server mesures and tells you ... the other is a connection loss , so thats instant and the server cant tell you as your not connected

try to play on servers that are in your zone to avoid high ping kicks

also, you can try using a VPN in case your ISP filtered out some important traffic between you and the server. ProtonVPN has a free option

just wondering, ProtonVPN will connect me to a server that will improve ping and connection to the rr servers, correct?

#

haven't tried out a VPN since my ping averages around 100-120 in EU servers, but a lower ping would certainly help other drivers around me

vpns rarely improve ping

Andi is right, I have actually worsened my ping, by an average of 5 points. My problem wasn't the ping. My connection, maybe, I'm not a technician, becomes unstable for a few seconds, or less than a second, and this caused me to disconnect from the server. In this, the VPN is working.
