#hi can anyone help me i'm wondering if there is a way to use a wheel.lut in R3E

?
google says lut has something to do with forcefeedback. didn't really understand.
a .lut file is a curve file for a force tested wheel which can be made using the iracing wheel check program for your individual wheel. it can be used in ac. acc. iracing and others to make the force more consistent over the the forces napplied to your wheel it can help for lower powered wheels alot as it tend to boost the lower forces and provide more detail.
@glass horizon
Unfortunately not, but you can approximate the lut curve with the minimum force and ffb sensitivity curve
thanks man got it a bit better now
ffb sensitivity?
Linearity is what i meant 😄
But it does the same thing as stuff like steering/throttle sensitivity etc
there is no FFB linearity setting anymore. I'm not sure why, btw. I don't quite understand the explanation that was given at that time, why a developer-side tool makes a user-side setting obsolete
"Force Feedback - Introducing dynamic linearity which will allow us to tune the forces on a per-car basis through steering geometry and power steering adjustments. It makes all the cars feel more grounded and solid to drive, particularly at low speed. This update makes the existing FFB Linearity slider obsolete, so slider was removed with the update."
Ah yes forgot about that
It’s mostly because that with that dynamic system we added, it was easier to do more harm than good with the linearity setting
ah, I see. could you share some details about what this dynamic system does? does it work similar to, I dunno, dynamic range compression in audio?
I guess you could say that, it often boosts up low signals to have a more consistent ‘loudness’
so it can lead to sometimes different FFB strength in the same corner on different laps? I think I had something like that last year in MX5 at Brno and couldn't understand what's happening. it was usually on the first few laps, but later into the session it was fine. although could also be just my inconsistent driving + wear and tyre temps settling down
no it is consistent in that regard, though ofcourse the tyres and your exact driving line and timing are never the same every lap, so makes sense it sometimes feels different
