So after reading many things on the forum over the past months I wanted to give the adaptive AI another go.
For the tests I used the live build that everyone can download from steam.

In the directory ...Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\Player1 I found an old aiadaptaitoin.xml file from 2021, so I decided to delete it so the game would create a fresh file.
I then did a 10 lap race with Audi Sport TT 16 on Norisring with adaptive ai. After that, I closed the game and found out, there was no new file. So I went back, did the same again, this time with ai level 80 instead. Didn't change anything.
So after 2 fails, I put the old file back into the folder and hoped for the game to just update it.
The next 4 tries were:

  • 5 lap race on level 80
  • 5 lap race adaptive ai
  • 2 min practice, 2 min qualy, 4 lap race level 80
  • 2 min practice, 2 min qualy, 4 lap race adaptive ai
After all these sessions I always closed the game to see if the file was updated. But no, nothing changed. The file is still from 2021 and there is still no data for Audi 16 on Norisring.

Now the questions are: is the file still in use and how do I then train the adaptive ai OR is the file no longer in use and where is the data stored now?

I didn't try to manually edit the file yet as I was hoping it would update itself.

that's strange, my aiadptation.xml does update and it updated right now after a SP race. the settings were:

  • Crossle 90f at Valerbanen
  • AI skill 102
  • opponents 9
  • noon, time mult. 1x
  • fuel, tyres 1x, damage full
  • practice, quali 30 min (but skipped both)
  • race 5 laps
  • standing start
  • flags full, cut penalty slow down

I will try this tonight.
Only thing i can think of is I used keyboard with assists yesterday. Will do wheel sessions now.
It would be stupid and I doubt it's the course, but one never knows...

It didn't work. The ai file didn't update. Only thing happened was the ai was murdering itself in T1 first lap 😆

Really no clue what to do now.

Well okay, only thing left is changing 32 bit to 64 bit version. 🤞🏻

Maybe useful
I did try adoptive AI only one time on Daytona Oval.
It did update the file date but from what I see no useful information to add to it.( It probably because it's not supported by dev to use by AI.)
64 bit version of game.
Do you want me to try and check 32 bit version and see if it update in normal track race?

So, I finally renamed the folder, starter the race session like you suggested above and.....nothing. The folder structure was created of course but it didn't contain an aiadaptation file. I have no idea anymore...

Sorry bothering you, but might you look into your ai file and look for this kind of code:
<key type="int32">9465</key> <value> <key type="int32">10899</key> <custom> <playerBestLapTimes> </playerBestLapTimes> <aiSkillVsLapTimes> </aiSkillVsLapTimes> </custom>
And post it here? Would like to see what it should be like after all.
Maybe doing it manually will help, maybe the game still reads the file but doesn't write in it.

9465 is the track id of Valerbanen and 10899 the class id of Crossle 90f
For you there should be some times written in playerBestLapTimes and aiSkillVsLapTimes.
