Deep talk channel

Idk I feel like if débat gets replaced by that it could be active and wouldn't be a new channel slot

That was one of my concerns. I admit it would try to use it more than I use the debate section but I'm not always on every day. I dont see why we can't do a trial though. Unless there is compelling reason to show that a deep conversation channel would harm the community, we might as well try right?

we're actually considering changes for #débat in the future, this could be good input to help us doing that

but for now I don't really see how we could encourage “deep talk”, I feel like the Passions et loisirs category does that best already

Perhaps that I'm just a boring person, or perhaps not, but I find the passions et loisirs section to be very limited. Perhaps because my passion is learning french, perhaps because I have nothing terribly meaningful to contribute, perhaps because my passions are related to deep conversation. In any of those cases, they are all personal issues and not thing that should really make a huge difference in a staff decision. I will work with whatever you all come up with and try to contribute meaningfully withing the boundaries you all think are best.

I don't think we can act on that kind of “shallowness” but uh… (CW nonconstructive proposal) anyone is free to start a discussion
